Vmware tools intallation -- linux 4 update 5 was not happening

Hi ,
I want to install Vmware tools for my machine. I installed VMware and Linux 4 update 5 but was unable to install vmware tools once i installed linux. I couldnt find vmware tools rpm. I just find vmwaretools-8.1.4-227600.tar.gz file. I was not able to move my cursor freely. everytime i need to use keystrokes like alt+control to come out. Can anyone help me how to install vmware tools.

My eraser tool acts weirdly. Everytime i use eraser tip on my pen, I cannot change the size of it with either tablet wheel or brackets. It changes the size of a brush tool instead. This was not happening in CS6.. Any ideas?

So this problem is annoying me. Is there any setting that has been added and this got messed up or is it a bug? In CS6 I could turn around my pen and use the eraser tip and change the size of it.
Now in CC 2014 I can't do it. I have to manually click the Eraser tool, and then change the size. I must say this is annoying as hell.

EDIT: Never mind, i found out how to reset. I Ctrl+Right clicked and reseted both brush and eraser but it still doesn't fix the issue. I also downloaded PS CS6 version and it works fine there.. So I don't know what it is. Must be a bug in CC 2014..

Update should not happen in the name of WF-BATCH

Hi All,
I have a requirement to change the WF-BATCH to the other user id.
The task completion or update should not happen in the name of WF-BATCH, instead it should happen with the name of the other user id.
Please can anybody suggest on this..

Like I said, it is only working if a previous step was a dialog step for the same user.
Then when all steps have advance with dialog it will automatically execute the "background" step (which is now dialog).
If the "background" step is the first to be executed then this scenario does not work.
It will only work if the agent has a previous work item AND is the one you want as the changed_by user.
A work around would be to either
a) check what the method does. If it executes a FM and if that FM has a parameter for changed by you can create a new method where you pass the changed_by user
b) check if a bapi/fm exists which allows you to change the user
c) create a program to execute the same logic as the method. Now you must create a new method where you can schedule this program as a background job with another user as the person who executes it.

HT1600 "The update was not successful" when trying to Update Software on my Apple TV

After downloading for 40+ minutes, it went into step 1 and came back with "The update was not successful". I have it connected via network cable and not wi-fi. Is there another way to update that will get me from 5.0.2 (4250) to version 5.1?

I was renting a movie yesterday with my iPad2 (iOS 5.1) - wanted to AirPlay the video stream from iPad 2 to AppleTV 2 (has the latested OS installed on it) - AppleTV says "not authorized"...
Tried also everything (e. g. reconnected AppleTV to my ITunes-account..) - nothing worked.
I AirPlayed a lot of rented movies from ITunes-store over my iPad2 to my AppleTV 2 in the past without any problems....
I have no idear why this happens now...
I was also functioning perfect after the recent iOS-update on both devices. So no connection to the new iOS...

I'm getting this exception "The SPListItem being updated was not retrieved with all taxonomy fields." when i try to programatically update a taxonomy field of a list item. Can any1 pls tell me why this exception occurs ???

Recently hit this myself, as well. Turns out it's a central admin setting that throttles the lookup return count, and Taxonomy fields are just lookups under the hood.
Go into Central Administration, Manage Web Applications, select your web application, and then in the ribbon choose the dropdown under General Settings select Resource Throttling. Find the setting for "List View Lookup Threshold" and raise
it from the default 8 (can go up to 1000, but 20 is likely fine depending how many lookup fields you're pulling back in your SPListItem).

Issue in Workflow- Field Update is not happening

I am facing an issue to update a check box field Released.
I have created a task having Advance with Dialog opiton,Background processing to update the Checkbox field.
The BOR Object type used is BUS1006 and method is CHANGE. Everything looks fine when tested the task as well as the workflow in test mode and it is working fine in both the cases. But some how, this field update is not happening over the CRM 2007 Web UI. We are assuming it is due to user authorizations or some other settings ( like assignment of backend user to the workflow)
for doing this task. Can some one give us some pointers on this. This will be of great help.

HT5706 AppleTV fails updating, reports "The update was not successful."

Cutrrently my AppleTV is at version 6.0.2 (6646.81.1) connected to my network via ethernet. When I attempt to update my AppleTV, It downloads the update, begins step 1 of 2, preparing update, then it fails with the message "The update was not successful."

when one downloads something over the Internet the bits can get corrupted and in the process making the update broken the system detects that and will not try to update with the broken update
when people download things over the Internet the isp (internet service provider) they use cache the data for a while so if another one of their users or the same user download it again right away they will get the cached data from the isp rather having to transfer the data all the way from the original site this saves time and money in most cases
but it also mean if the data gets corrupted you have to wait a bit for their cache to flush before you try again
the process of isp's detecting if all of the data in their caches was valid would mean a lot of processing on their behalf making your isp bill higher so waiting a bit every now and then is pref'd in the eyes of most

What I do ?
1-I Click Verify Volume its get error msg " Disk Utility stopped verifying MAcintosh HD"
2- Volume bitmap needs minor repair for orphaned blocks????!!!
3-Invalid volume free blocks count !!!
4-The Volume MAC HD was found corrupt and need to be repaird!! How to repair???
5-Error: This Disk need to be repaired us...es window appears, Choose Disk Utility.
Please I need Full Support for above problem

Last update was not completed

Hi,
One of my data load in process chain has the error status in red saying that the last update was not done.
So can I go ahead and make staus of both into red and delete them?
My question is after this load failed the are some loads from the same data source.
So if I delete the red status request from the cube will there be any loss of data.
will that pick the missed deltas.

I will suggest your clear steps.
Your process chain failed wiht error showing last update was not successfull,
So what you need to do is go to previous run of the process
BEFORE Deleting Make sure that you MAKE THE TECHNICAL STATUS TO RED( In Staus Tab of Process Monitor) MANUALLLY TO AVOID MISSING ANY DELTA
So what you need to do is go to previous run of the process chian and Delete the red request form the targets.
Be carefull that you are delted the correct RED Request only to confirm that you are delteting the right request see the First tab of the Process monitor which contains Requst No.
AND the Request No of the red request should match the request no in Request tab of the Targets.
Once Deleted Repeat the failed step in Previous run of IP then IT SHOULD COME AS ""REPEAT OF LAST DELTA"".
This shows it is taking the last delta again if it comes as ""DELTA"" then records are lost.
Once successfull with previous run come to present one and repeat the failed step.
Then it will work fine and No Delta records are lost.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

I just bought an Apple TV 2 and tried this update thing, but got the same result as you.
When will Apple fix this?!?!?

Error :The update was not successful.

When I try to update my apple tv to version 4.1. It downloads the update but it stops half way though the install and after a few minutes i get this message "The update was not successful.". This is the 4th time I tried the update. I did a reset and unplugged the apple tv for a few minutes. Still nothing anyone else getting this error?

Don't bother buying a micro USB plug (this is just a usb plug with a smaller plug that fits apple tv) it wont work anyway. There is something wrong with the server, worldwide none of us can update or restore our apple tv's.

Cannot update the latest Apple TV 3 software release. The update appears to download but then never gets to step 2 and shows the error message "The update was not successful." Everytime I check for updates (I have the setting to manual check), an alert pops up in Apple store with the phrase "Lexmark Printer Software Update 2.11" available for download.
Is there a way I can turn off this notification for Printer updates until it is resolved? It is pretty annoying.

I'm going to give that a try to see if I stop getting the constant reminder for 2.11.
