VS 2010 Silverlight project upgraded to VS 2013 - not hitting break point.

dear Readers,
thank you for taking the time to read this posting.
we had developed a SL project using VS 2010 and it was successfully upgraded to vs 2013.  after a couple of hiccups, the application compiled and ran successfully.  the SL app is still in .net framework 4.0.
due to some changes, we wanted to debug the application.  Even after marking a couple of break points, we found that vs 2013 did not hit the breakpoints when we ran the app with F5.
We tried the following and it still would not hit the breakpoint:
1. deleted the /bin and /obj directories in SL and .Web projects.
2. deleted .xap file and /bin /obj directories.
We tried attaching/detaching the sl process in Firefox. IE, and chrome - no luck.
any suggestions will be appreciated.
regards
ravi.

  • Office 2010 MUI in Finnish and Save and Send function not working after upgrading to Lync 2013 MUI

    Problem is as follows. Used to have Office 2010, Outlook 2010 and Lync 2010, everything was working. People used it in Finnish and seemly quite a many of them used the Talleta ja lähetä (Save and Send in Finnish) in Office products.
    After upgrading Lync to 2013 version, with Finnish language pack installed with it, the Save and send does not work in Office 2010 if it is used with Finnish as display language. When you try to use it you get a Mapi error and reason is undefined or something,
    hard to say what it is exactly in english as the error message is in finnish. On those machines if the display language is changed back to english the Save and send works as it should.
    Any ideas?

    The problem was caused by the Language Packs for Lync 2013 or Office 2013. Without them all works.
    And if you want to just unisntall the 2013 lang packs, then you also need to repair install the office 2010 ones to make it work again.

  • SharePoint Workspace 2010 still installed after upgrade to Office 2013

    I'm working on a deployment of Office 2013 in a corporate environment.  Using the OCT, I've customized a package which is working well on machines that don't have previous version of Office installed.  However, many of the existing machines currently
    have Office 2010.  After executing the Office 2013 package, we're noticing that while the upgrade works, SharePoint Workspace 2010 and the Office 2010 Tools still exist in the Start -> Programs menu.  I also see Office 2010 in Add/Remove programs
    (along with the new Office 2013).  The OCT is specifically set to uninstall previous editions of Office during the upgrade (which is the default behavior).
    I'll seen a couple of other posts like this on the forum, but unfortunately no answers.  How can I *completely* uninstall Office 2010 (including SharePoint Workspace 2010 and the Office 2010 tools) during the upgrade to Office 2013?  This
    corporation doesn't need SharePoint Workspace 2010; my guess is that it was included by default with the Office 2010 package that they rolled out in the past.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    By default, the uninstall option in Office Customization Tool (OCT) will not remove SharePoint Workspace 2010 as SharePoint Workspace is no longer include in Office 2013.
    Try to create a separate Office 2010 .msp file, set Microsoft SharePoint Workspace and Office Tools to "Not Available" and deploy it
    prior to the installation of Office 2013.
    Or you can do an Uninstall upgrade. Basically, use the /uninstall [ProductID] command-line option to uninstall Office 2010 from the user's computer first and then after that is finished, install Office 2013.
    Here is a great example of how to perform an uninstall-upgrade for enterprise deployments :
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/odsupport/archive/2011/04/06/how-to-perform-an-uninstall-upgrade-to-office-2010.aspx (Note, the steps are wrriten for Office 2010, but it holds good for Office 2013.)

  • Coexistence & Upgrade Exchange 2010 SP3 Unified Messaging to Exchange 2013 SP1 UM

    Hello Experts,
    We're doing Exchange 2010 SP3 to Exchange 2013 SP1 upgrade.
    This upgrade also include Unified Messaging component which is currently working with Exchange 2010 SP3 and Lync 2013.
    We have one dial plan and its SIP URI and Secured.
    Looking for high level steps to plan coexistence and upgrade of Unified Messaging  from Exchange 2010 SP3 to Exchange 2013 SP1 integrated with Lync 2013. I'll also appreciate tips on what kind of certificate and its Subject name(s).
    Microsoft documentation is not very clear and I found it confusing for my scenario. Since I we don't want any downtime for UM users, looking for some help.
    Thanks in advance for help.
    -DK

    Hello Hinte,
    Thanks for the information. I have been to this article which explains fresh deployment but doesn't address coexistence and migration scenario.
    I'm looking for high level steps only. Can anyone validate and suggest if I'm missing something!
    1) Install new CAS+MBX Server
    2) Move system mailbox as per MS documentation to Exchange 2013 MBX
    3) On CAS+MBX Server Enabled internal CA trusted Cert for UM Services.Internal
    CA certs contain only CAS+MBX server's FQDN only.UM services Startup Mode is set to "Dual".
    4) Assigned existing SIP URI Based Exchange 2010 Dial plan to New Exchange 2013 Servers.
    5) Run Exchucutil.ps1
    in Exchange 2013 and OcsUMUtil in Lync 2013 (Again?)
    Will this be enough or Do I need to create New Auto attendant or
    Haunt Group etc?
    Thanks for all the help!

  • Upgraded to SP 2013 - Scope Rules are empty

    Hi,
    We upgraded to SP 2013 enterprise from sharepoint 2010 and this involved upgrading the search admin database as well.
    I believe search scopes that was migrated from SP 2010 are available as read-only but the item count in rule shows error. I have run full crawl and there are items in the index but my custom search scopes are failing because the rules has no items.
    Is this a known issue in SP 2010 to SP 2013 migration of search service?
    Regards,
    Manoj
    "The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of anybody else"

    Thank you for the reply.
    I understand scopes are not supported in 2013 but they are available if your site is in 2010 mode and our sites are upgraded and all are in 2010 mode on our 2013 farm. But I believe scopes that existed in the migrated sites would work if you keep them in
    2010 mode in the 2013 farm?
    Update: I observed that this happens when we have content types in rules and that too not oob content types but the ones we created by deriving from oob content types. There is no custom coding involved in these just that we had content type we created,
    for example, for project type documents. If I create a custom scope on my site in 2013 farm which is in 2010 mode it shows item count in the scope and I have added a rule to a custom library. But if I edit that scope and add a rule to include my content type
    the item count is error and total count also shows error!

  • Unable to save/publish Projects on Project Server 2010() using Project Pro 2007 and 2010

    Hi,
    Recently we have upgraded from Project Server 2007 to 2010 SP-2 (BCM enabled) environment and from last few days we are getting issue with Project Plans where PMs are not able to update Projects means save and publish the Project using MS Project  2010/2007.
    Whenever PMs try to open project using MS Project 2010 SP-2, it gets load successfully but when they hit save and publish no jobs are getting fired up nothing is happening. Only way to get out from MS Project 2010 window is to close the Project window and
    and click discard changes. No error and exception windows are popping out in MS Project 2010, no error/problem/issue clue at all from MS Project 2010.
    But when I try to update this Project plan for very first time using MS Project 2007 Sp-2 then I am getting below error
    for any subsequent save and publish using MS Project 2007-SP2 getting below error
    As an alternative I have tried to open this Project Plan using web and there it is getting opened saved and published successfully from PWA absolutely no issue.
    Also I have saved this Project locally as XML and saved and published it on Server successfully. But after someday again this project got corrupt PMs started getting same problem again
    I have also looked at ULS logs but not getting anything useful there.
    So any guesses why this could happen that can give me pointers to find actual root cause, please let me know.
    Thanks much !!!
    Sachin Vashishth MCTS

    Used below steps to fix the Projects on MSP 2010.
    1) Open corrupted project in MS Project connected to PS 2010 Prod env.
    2) Goto > Resource > Add Resource  > Build Team From Enterprise
    3) Check is there any local resource who has not replaced with corresponding enterprise resource. If yes then replace all those local resources with enterprise resource. If not then move to next step.
    4) Open resource sheet view and sort or filter by local resources.
    5) Then add few columns in resource sheet view like "Windows User Account, Email Address , Base Calendar etc".
    6) Now check has any local resource having enterprise attribute assigned to it, if yes then delete or assign local value as appropriate.
    7) Then GoTo > File > Save & Send > Save as project file > Save for sharing (at local location)
    8) Close project plan window and click "Yes" to save changes.
    9) Restart MS Project 2010 and open your project from local location.
    10) Then Goto > File > Save & Send > "Publish to Project Server". This will open "Import Project Wizard" to validate Resources and Task in Project.
    11) Then in Import Project Wizard window at left hand side click "Map Resource" to validate project resources.
    12) This will "Map Project Resource to Enterprise Resource " check all the resources highlighted with "Red" font and map "Standard" calendar to local resources.
           Note: Don't worry about local resource assigned "Standard calendar" but still highlighted "Red".
    13) Then click "OK" and click on "Continue to step 2" at bottom of "Import Project Wizard".
    14) Make sure you get number of errors 0 in step 2, else click on validate resource and take proper corrective action as explained in step 6.
    15) If you leave at least one resource as a local resource (unmapped to an enterprise resource), you will see the local resource in the Import Resource grid on the right side
    of the Confirm Resources page.
    Examine the value in the "Import" column (if not able to see this column then insert this as new column) for the local resource .
    The default value is "Yes", then change the value in the "Import" column
    to "No", else system will import the local resource as an enterprise
    resource.
    16) Then "Continue to step 3, 4 and 5".
    17) Then at Step 5 , Save project to Project Server by clicking "Save as" link.
    18) Then publish the project to update the plan at PWA 2010.

  • After upgrade to outlook 2013 Contacts have the default picture in reading pane

    I'm using Windows 8 on a domain (using a domain account not a Microsoft account) connecting to Exchange, all my Contacts were outlook contacts with pictures and other data, I could see the picture of the contact in the reading pane and people pane while
    using Outlook 2010.
    After the upgrade to Outlook 2013 the contacts are not lost (I can see them in the People Hub) but it appears that they are unavailable in the reading pane because all I can see is the default picture (the default picture picture is also visible in the notifications).
    If I put the mouse over the name of the people while in the reading pane all I can see is the card with the default info (the only data visible is that the contact is available in the next 8 hours), if I compose a new message and hover the name of the contact
    i can see the card with all the data (picture, company, etc.).
    Is this the default behavior in Outlook 2013 if you are in a domain and not connected to any service or there is a way to show the picture of my contacts in every part of outlook?

    No, it should be available still. Did you recreate this mail profile after the upgrade?
    Try forcing a complete update of the Office Line Address Book via the Send/Receive tab-> Send/Receive Groups-> Download Address Book

  • What is the order for upgrading exchange server 2013 SP1 servers to CU7?

    Hi All
    I am planning to upgrade my exchange server 2013 SP1CU4 to CU7 . As per my understanding , we always proceed with the CAS servers and then the Mailbox Servers during up-gradation.
    But I am confused now , since I have seen articles stating , that the Mailbox servers has to be upgraded first and then the CAS servers in exchange 2013.
    What will be the correct order . My environment consists of 2 Mailbox servers in DAG and 2 CAS servers (Exchange server 2013 SP1)
    Thanks in Advance .
    Joyso Senior Messaging Admin

    Hi Joyso,
    The Microsoft recommendation regarding the order in which the Exchange 2013 server roles should be installed or Upgraded is Mailbox and then CAS.
    It makes sense as the CAS Role is a stateless server and all major components are held by the Mailbox Role.
    Until a 2013 mailbox server comes online, the CAS server is pretty much useless. Hence, the recommended installation order in 2013 is the reverse of 2010 – Mailbox role first & then CAS
    Note: If your DAG have more nodes, you need first upgrade all non-PAM nodes and then upgrade PAM node.
    Some References:
    The recommendation from the Product Group is to install Exchange 2013 Preview Mailbox Role first, and then the
    CAS role.
    If you're separating your server roles, we recommend installing the Mailbox server role first.
    Upgrade your Exchange 2013 server roles in the required order. First, upgrade Mailbox servers
    and then upgrade Client Access servers. -Upgrade DAG Mailbox servers

  • Upgrading to Exchange 2013 This Summer - What to Change in FIM?

    We are currently using FIM to provision mailboxes and mail contacts in Exchange. We are currently on Exchange 2010 SP3. When we originally set up Exchange interrelation with FIM, we used this information found here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/2189.how-to-configure-the-exchange-2010-rps-uri.aspx
    We enabled Kerberos and set up FIM to use the load balanced name of our CAS array.
    When we go to Exchange 2013, what do we need to change on the FIM side?  I know we will need to change the provisioning database, but what else is required?  I notice Exchange 2013 is not available in the drop down menu on the ADMA agent.
    I read you just leave that as Exchange 2010.

    Hi,
    For this upgrade process you need not make many changes into FIM. All you need to do is just follow below link and You will be good to go:
    http://blog.msresource.net/2013/01/30/forefront-identity-manager-2010-r2-service-pack-1-released/
    Rest all settings will be same as Exchange-2010.

  • Upgraded to Office 2013

    I have the BB Z10 and love it. I upgraded my computer to Office 2013 and like another user with the BB9310  am having problems trying ot get the device to sync. According to the response to that forum post was Office 2013 is not support. This is a problem because I cannot downgrade to Office 2010.

    Hello,
    Unfortunately, a compatibility requirement is not one that can be overcome unless and until the software(s) is/are made compatible. Refer:
    http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/60798/tom1359418099212.jsp
    If you have the adequate version of Link, it is indeed compatible with OL2013. But, if you have a prior version of LINK, then you need to get the more recent so that it is compatible.
    Good luck!

  • Use Exchange 2010 OWA Login Page with Exchange 2013

    We are planning on upgrading our exchange server from 2010 to 2013. We want to keep 2010 OWA login page with this upgrade. Partly due to educating users to new OWA interface and no plan to upgrade to office 2013 anytime soon.
    Questions:
    1. Do you or do you not recommend?
    2. Is it possible?
    3. How to keep 2010 OWA login page during and after migration to 2013 (instructions)?
    Thank you!

    Hi, EthenLEC
    I agree with Andy David.
    For additional information, we can change OWA 2013 back to OWA 2010 interface to use light version by the following steps.
    Log in to OWA 2013.
    Once logged in, click on the settings gear in the upper right corner, choose
    Display Settings.
    From the Display settings menu, choose Outlook Web App version, then check the box to use the light version.
    Sign out of OWA and sign back in. Now it has the OWA 2013 light version.
    Best Regards.

  • HELP! Upgrades to Office 2013 and Outlook has lost almost everything!!!!!

    I really messed up.  I bought an upgrade to Office 2013 and installed it.  I had Office 2010.  I thought, wrongly, that Microsoft would set up 2013 to use my email account and import my emails and contacts.  The results have been disastrous.
      I use a Gmail account and have Outlook connected by IMAP to Gmail.  I do not have Exchange or POP3.  I have Some but not all, probably not even most, of my old emails.  I have a lot of empty folders that used to have emails.  My
    IMAP account to Gmail did get imported, and it tests OK and I have two test messages that appear to work, but no new emails have come through.  I checked, there are plenty of new emails in GMail but they have not come through despite several send/receives.
    Nothing.  Except the two test emails.  I don't get this. Can anyone help?
    I also did not get any of my contacts.  This really sucks.

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused. We'll try to fix the problem.
    Where did you store your old emails? Did you store them in a local pst file or on the server? If you store the emails on the server, please log into your web mail and check if you can see your old emails.
    In addition, we can try to create a new mail profile in Control Panel and configure your Gmail account in the new mail profile to check the result. For your information:

  • Dynamic Loading Maps BizTalk 2006 R2 upgrade to BizTalk 2013

    We are in the process of upgrading BizTalk to 2013 R2 from BizTalk 2006 R2.
    In an orchestration we are dynamic using map type classes.
    It works fine in 2006 R2, 2010 but not 2013 R2.
    When I run the below code in VS 2008 it retrieves the class types from the assemblies.
    In VS 2013 it does not.  Why?
    //CCIJIS_WarrantClearRequest_X_MCIJIS_CLWR
    string typeName =
    "x";
    string className =
    "x";
    Type mapType =
    Type.GetType("MCIJIS_RCLW_X_CCIJIS_WarrantClearResponse,
    CCIJIS.State.Transforms, Version=1.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=d18be0be6c153b84");
                mapType =
    Type.GetType("CCIJIS.State.Transforms.MCIJIS_RCLW_X_CCIJIS_WarrantClearResponse");
    if (mapType ==
    null)
    foreach (Assembly
    a in
    AppDomain.CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies())
    if (a.FullName.Contains("CCIJIS.State.Transforms"))
                            typeName = a.FullName;
                            mapType = a.GetType(a.FullName);
    foreach (Type
    type in a.GetTypes())
                                className = type.FullName;
    James Nance

    Hi James,
    Try debugging your code by attaching Visual Studio to the BTSNTSVC.exe process and see where exactly your code is failing.
    For debugging your orchestration refer:
    BizTalk Orchestration – Orchestration debugging inside Visual Studio
    Checkpoint: Ensure you have using correct fully-qualified map name.
