VXIMove returns error 0x8000 only in 64-bit Solaris 8

We are looking to migrate our Solaris CPU to a faster Blade 150 (or better) PCI-based workstation. The downside is that these latest workstations all contain 64-bit  processors so we are forced to run a 64-bit Solaris kernel. According to the NI-VXI documentation, the driver works on 32-bit and 64-bit kernels so I was not too concerned. Unfortunately our applications are not working properly when using the VXImove API call to move a chunk of data from VXI to a local memory address. The error is always 0x8000.
We eliminated Solaris 8 as the problem by duplicating the setup on an Ultra 10 workstation which is also PCI-based but runs 32-bit Solaris 8. The same drivers were used in both cases. The VXImove works properly when running in Solaris 8 32-bit.
I have attached my resman output  files for reference. Thanks in advance.

Hello All,
I would like to clarify one of the statements made earlier in this forum.  NI VXI is not supported as a 64-bit application, under any circumstances.  One can user NI VXI on a 64-bit system, but they must run it as a 32-bit application in order for it to function correctly, and therefore lose the 64-bit processing capability.
It is true that NI-VISA is simply an added layer between the driver and your application.  As KnowledgeBase 2QDASEPG: Supported NI-VISA Operating Systems and Features points out, NI-VISA only supports VXI functionality on 32-bit operating systems.  This is because the NI VXI driver itself is only supported as a 32-bit application.

    From all CC apps only the 64 bits version of Photoshop gives an internal signature error. The 32 bits version works fine and the 64 bits version of Photoshop was working fine until I had an update through Creeative Cloud.

  • Muse Site Returning Error Only in Chrome that Files are Missing

    I created www.helixweb.co.uk today, and I have an isse. Using Safari, Firefox and IE, there are no problems with my site. Every page loads fine for me.
    However when I then go into Chrome.... I get this error(I only get it on the Advertising menu of the website which is odd)..:
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Comes up just fine in Chrome for me. SO I would think the problem is exactly as the error message says that it is a browser caching issue. Clear your browser cache and you should be fine.

  • Error compiling FPGA VI: ERROR:Xflow - Program xst returned error code 6.

    When I use the Linear Interpolation function in my FPGA VI i get the compilation error:
    ERROR:Xflow - Program xst returned error code 6. Aborting flow execution...
    the Compile Server also gives the more detailed information:
    ERROR:Xst:1749 - "C:/NIFPGA85/srvrTmp/LOCALH~1/TRAPCO~2/NiLvFxpFloor.vhd" line 68: error: The output for the floor function should not have any fractional bits.
    I'll be happy for any suggestions how to solve this.

    Hello!
    Could you compile a program with only the Linear Interpolation.vi and only some constants and indicator as input and output?
    I tried on my PC and compile a simple VI containing only the Linear Interpolation.vi
    Which Version of NI-RIO do you use?
    Do you also placed the FPGA VI in library? If yes put out all FPGA VIs from the library and check that they aren't reentrant.
    This could cause problems to the compiling of FPGA VI.
    Try to create a new project with only a VI with the linear interpolation and check if it is compiled.
    Best regards

    Hi,
    Thank you for your response
    ""Wow6432Node is not valid on x86 systems."""
    Yes, that I am aware of that.....Windows on Windows, for running x86 apps on x64 Windows<o:p></o:p>
    When I first created the detection method I had only created the "WoW" Check
    for Flash value in the reg, which was running against both x86 & x64 Win 7
    systems, and forgot to include the x64 check/, either case, the error appeared
    on the WOW check. Presently I have 2 "Detection Clauses" one for x86
    and the second clause is x64 ( non WOW Path), and still receive the same erorrs
    on both x86 & x64 systems. ( and x64 system have both reg entries since Win 7 has both x86 & x64 versions of IE)
    Looking at the registry of an x64 Win 7 system I find the Adobe Flash registry entry is
    located in both Wow6432Node and also in the x64 sections of the reg.....<o:p></o:p>
    """"Also, why use the default value? I doubt there's anything in there (the default value is the
    value display in a key in regedit with the name of
    "@").""""<o:p></o:p>
    When Default Value is selected the boxes/options below that allow for more detailed
    information to be entered when performing the "reg check"? This is
    where I had been able to enter specific Build/Version to look for, Flash
    11.4.402.265, so that if it does not discover the build # it will proceed with
    the install.....<o:p></o:p>
    I figured having the option to check for Build/Version # would omit SCCM reinstalling on
    systems that have build 11.4.402.265 already?<o:p></o:p>
    From what I understand is that Adobe Flash x64 installs both versions x86 & x64 since Win 7 has both IE
    x86 & IE x64 bit versions by default, and this would explain the Wow6432Node reg
    entries and the true x64 reg entries in both locations when installing.
    Overall, I am thinking I may be heading in the wrong direction in resolving this, as x86 & x64 versions install on the systems, so this tells me it is detecting when / what needs to be installed, the issue seems to be how it reports back after installing......
    Looking further, I view the Content Status Page, and there reporting info in Asset Detail under [Success]  all others { / In Progresss / Error /Unknown } has no info......
    If this helps provide further details.....
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Ron

  • Function returning error text validation

    Hi,
    I have a page where i can insert/update user, organisation, responsible.
    Organisation can be nullable.
    Only one user at a time can be responsible for a organisation.
    To check this responsible validation i made a function returning error text validation as follow:
    BEGIN
    FOR c IN (SELECT usr_spa
    FROM kpi_users
    WHERE usr_org_id = :p22_usr_org_id
    LOOP
    IF upper(:p22_usr_spa) = upper('YES') and upper(c.usr_spa) = upper('YES')
    THEN
    RETURN 'A user is already responsible for this organisation'||'!';
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    END;
    The validation works fine.
    But it goes wrong when i want to insert a new user, without assigning him to an organisation.
    I get following message:
    ORA-01722: invalid number
    ERR-1024 Unable to run "function body returning text" validation.
    Can someone please help me solve this problem?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    try:
    BEGIN
    FOR c IN (SELECT usr_spa
    FROM kpi_users
    WHERE usr_org_id = nvl(:p22_usr_org_id,-1)
    LOOP
    IF upper(:p22_usr_spa) = upper('YES') and upper(c.usr_spa) = upper('YES')
    THEN
    RETURN 'A user is already responsible for this organisation'||'!';
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    END;This assumes that :p22_usr_org_id could be null and converts this to -1 (pick another default value if this may exist as an id). It is possible that the statement would otherwise be seen as WHERE usr_org_id = null which is invalid.
    or you could do:
    BEGIN
    IF :p22_usr_org_id IS NOT NULL THEN
    FOR c IN (SELECT usr_spa
    FROM kpi_users
    WHERE usr_org_id = :p22_usr_org_id
    LOOP
    IF upper(:p22_usr_spa) = upper('YES') and upper(c.usr_spa) = upper('YES')
    THEN
    RETURN 'A user is already responsible for this organisation'||'!';
    END IF;
    END LOOP;
    END IF;
    END;As this would stop the validation running if the :p22_usr_org_id is null.
    Or, you could just make your validation conditional on p22_usr_org_id not being null?

  • Returning Error Status back from Form to external program

    Question,
    I am trying to run a form essentially from the command line. I need to programatically catch any error codes that might have occured in the form by an external program. I can find nothing about returning errors back from the form or how to display it.
    Any assistance is appreciated.
    Andy Hendrickson

    Hello Andreas,
    Ah, sorry, there was so much talk about user decisions that I assumed you were using a standard decision task.
    Still, I would be extra careful of changing the way workflow usually works because you have an unknown target audience that are based on the standard.
    The standard SAP philosophy is quite simple: cancel/F3 or do nothing and it stays reserved. If you do not want it reserved, you need to perform an action. This is based on a majority of processes: in most cases when you execute a work item you will also be the one who is going to completed it. Replacing it is the lesser used of the two alternatives, therefore it is the only one that requires an action on the part of the user.
    Again, this is intended as constructive input. Strange quirks and unusual behaviour tend to add a black mark to software if they do not make things easier to use. In many environments users are not even aware of the reserve/replace business, so there you would be adding an additional layer of complexity.
    Personally I would find an exit popup annoying as a regular workflow user - regular decisions can be approved with one click, or I can back out with a single click if I need to make a phone call or look up some info before approving - but with this new-fangled thing I've got an extra button to click and an extra thing to think about. This is especially the case in a payment approval scenario where you may have users in some departments who may approve hundreds of payments each week.
    My suggestion would be to leave it like that. By all means put an option into the user decision to put it back or to 'un-reserve' it (and loop round if the user chooses it). That way you are adding value and not clicks.
    Cheers,

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 plus will not install , msg Call to DriverPackageInstall returns error 5

    I get message "Call to Driver Package Install returned error 5 for package -c\Program Files\HP\HP OfficeJet Pro 8600\Drivers Store\Pipeline\hpup\03.inf-Call to Driver Package Install must be a member of th eadministrator group to install a driver package. Laptop is HP, Core 5, running Win 8.1
    No security messages arose during very slow install.
    Tried several times, tried to download installation package as suggested btroubleshooter but aborted 4 times (4 hours), other downloads had no problem. Tried changing startup as indicated also, did not correct the problem.

    Hi Liam,
    The installation CD that came with your 8600 will definitely not work with Windows 8.1 and is not same as the latest online download which you will need to install on Win8.1.
    Are you running Win8.1 Pro 32 or 64 bit?
    Also make sure you select the right model of your Officejet. There are 3 different models.
    HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer series - N911
     HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g
    HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer series - N911
     HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a
    HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-All-in-One Printer series - N911
     HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-All-in-One - N911n
    Try uninstalling printer from the control panel and reinstall using the Win8.1 download from the link above.

  • The operating system returned error 23(Data error (cyclic redundancy check).)

    My Stored Procedures and Jobs Showing this Error. Even though i can able to access the data throgh SSMS in Database Engine.Please help on this.

    DBCCCHECKDB('DBNAME',REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS)
    For crying out loud! Don't you have any shame!
    There are situations where you may have to run DBCC CHECKDB with the option REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS, but it is not the first thing you shold try if the database seems to be corrupt. Particularly, you should first make sure that you work on a copy of the database
    files. REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS means that DBCC CHECKDB has carte blanche to throw all pages it can piece together - which could be about all data pages if it is that bad.
    Corruption siuations are very difficult to assist with in forums, because there can be a lot of stake. The only advice I can give is to restore the database from a clean backup. If you don't have a clean backup, you have a problem. The database may still
    be saved, but you need an expert on site to help you, if you have never worked with this before. Advice given in this forum applied haphazardly can result in more damage that you already have.
    But, oh, one thing: this type of corruption are always due to hardware errors like bad disks or bad memory sticks. So just restoring the database is not enough. Finding new hardware is important too.
    Erland Sommarskog, SQL Server MVP, [email protected]
    Actually on the same disk there are other Databases Stored and they work Properly and Backup also can be taken for that Databases. But, for this particular database only this error is happening when iam trying to take backup. But data retrieval and access to
    front end application happening as usual.  Please help on this.

    Can somebody help me to recieve the Parent values and also its child values based on the above query and xml.

    Hi,
    That's a classic ;)
    You need a second XMLSequence that will shred the collection of PicklistValue into relational rows :
    select extractvalue(value(sr2), '/PicklistValue/Code', 'xmlns="urn:/crmondemand/xml/picklist"') AS Display
         , extractvalue(value(sr2), '/PicklistValue/DisplayValue', 'xmlns="urn:/crmondemand/xml/picklist"') AS Return
         , extractvalue(value(sr1), '/ParentPicklistValue/ParentDisplayValue', 'xmlns="urn:/crmondemand/xml/picklist"') AS parent_display
         , extractvalue(value(sr1), '/ParentPicklistValue/ParentCode', 'xmlns="urn:/crmondemand/xml/picklist"') AS parent_return
    from table(
           xmlsequence(
             extract( WEB_SERVICE( ... )
                    , '/soap:Envelope/soap:Body/ns:PicklistWS_GetPicklistValues_Output/ListOfParentPicklistValue/ParentPicklistValue'
                    , 'xmlns="urn:/crmondemand/xml/picklist"
                       xmlns:ns="urn:crmondemand/ws/picklist/"
                       xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"' )
         ) sr1
       , table(
           xmlsequence(
             extract( value(sr1)
                    , '/ParentPicklistValue/ListOfPicklistValue/PicklistValue'
                    , 'xmlns="urn:/crmondemand/xml/picklist"' )
         ) sr2
    ;What's your database version BTW?
    On 10.2 and up, you may use XMLTable instead.

  • BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE returns error in ECC and not in 4.7 system.

    Hi all,
    In a custom program, BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE has been used. the program is working fine in SAP 4.7 system.
    After the upgradation to ECC, the BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE  is returning error.
    But, when we debug in ECC, it is not returning error and results are fine ! So it is not possible to trace the error. If values are passed manually to execute only the BAPI, it does not return error.
    If we execute the custom program without debugging, it is returning error.
    It is surprising issue and unable to fix.
    Could anybody know the probably solution/ reason for this in ECC.Please help me.
    I have tried to search for this problem for OSS notes, but could not find any.

    Hi,
    The BAPI is returning message of type "E".
    Based on this, custom program is rasing user defined error message.
    When we debug, no error is returned and transaction is successful. So could not find the error in detail.
    Even if we try to run the BAPI using SE37, returns success message.
    code is as follows.
      CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE'
        EXPORTING
          objectkeynew            = gv_objectkeynew            "value is 1000409757

  • Updatexml function is returning error. Syntax problem....

    I have a xmlfile which is shown below...

    <ROW>
    <EDETAIL> </EDETAIL>
    <T1>5</T1>
    </ROW>
    </ROWSET>
    I load this xmlfile into a xmltype column in a global temporary table.
    I have to update edetail tag to '~:' if it contains only whitespace(s) in it.
    I am trying the following command and its giving me error....
    insert into gt_xmltype_tab(xmlfile1)
    values(XMLType(bfilename('RESTOREDIR','MYTEMP.xml'),nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8')));
    update gt_xmltype_tab set xmlfile1 = updatexml(xmlfile1, '/ROWSET/ROW/EDETAIL/text()','~:')
    where extractvalue(xmlfile1, '/ROWSET/ROW/EDETAIL') IS NULL
    I get the following error for the updatexml...
    update gt_xmltype_tab set XMLFILE1 = updatexml(XMLFILE1 , '/ROWSET/ROW/EDETAIL/text()','~:')
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-19025: EXTRACTVALUE returns value of only one node
    What is the correct way of doing it? What am I doing wrong?

    What is the correct way of doing it? What am I doing wrong?The WHERE clause filters records from the table, not repeating elements from the XML document.
    Actually, I'm not sure if you want one or the other...
    If you've got multiple XML files in the table, and want to update (the table) only where there's something to update, then use existsNode in the WHERE clause to check if the XML possesses at least an "empty" element.
    If there's only one XML in the table, no WHERE clause necessary.
    As for the update (of the XML document), that's a little tricky.
    Once into the table, whitespaces are not preserved, so there's actually no text() node to update.
    A solution is to update the element as a whole :
    UPDATE gt_xmltype_tab
    SET xmlfile1 = updateXML( xmlfile1
                            , '/ROWSET/ROW/EDETAIL[not(text())]'
                            , XMLElement("EDETAIL", '~:') )

  • TCP Listener returned error on accept = AFP blows up. Need help

    Environment: 10.6.7 Server. Xserver. All Mac clients. It's a school. Problem: AFP refusing connections or not loading the Home Directory Symptoms: Library/Logs/AppleFileService/AppleFileServiceError.log blown out with "TCP Listener returned error on accept" happening every second.
    I cannot figure this out. The server has not been updated recently. -checkhostname returns no error. There have been some new iMacs (10.6.8) connected recently. I have read this might be MaxThreads; or corrupt .DS files, but I am really struggling. Please - any clues at all? I can't keep rebooting every day. Any ideas at all please.

    hi pkmusic, we are having the same problem. do you have phone over IP? we are using 5 servers (10.6.7 and 10.6.8) for user home directories. network goes through Siemens IP-Phones. Each server has max. 40 - 50 users but the error occures even if there are only 15 - 20 users connected. have to check the MaxThread-Settings next week ...

  • "ORA-19025 EXTRACTVALUE returns value of only one node" - Suggestion

    ORA-19025 EXTRACTVALUE returns value of only one node
    When this error occurs, would you please provide some or all of the following information:
    (1) row number
    (2) row id
    (3) the name of the offending column
    (5) the XQuery expression
    (6) the node name
    (7) the text value being parsed, in which an excess node was found
    and would you consider processing every good row, assuming it may be correct,
    because, in 13 thousand lines generated by my view, there is unlikely to even one more row in error.
    Thank you,
    Mike Rainville
    FYI,
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
    With the Partitioning, Real Application Clusters, OLAP and Data Mining options
    ojdbc6.jar 11.1.0.7.0

    Thanks for the suggestion...
    The problem is that in one row, information in a data dump about two different things was combined into one, due to a gap in the input file. The starting delimiter for the second thing and the ending delimiter for the first were missing. The result was that many entity tags that should have been unique were duplicated, ion that particular row.
    I was able to guard the view against future such errors with occurrences using this
    in the WHERE clause ...
    AND NOT ( XMLCLOB LIKE '%<TAG1>%<TAG1>%'
    OR XMLCLOB LIKE '%<TAG2>%<TAG2>%'
    OR XMLCLOB LIKE '%<TAG3>%<TAG3>%'
    /* ... Repeated once for each tag used with extractvalue */
    OR XMLCLOB LIKE '%<TAGN>%<TAGN>%'
    It filters out any row with two identical starting tags, where one is expected.
    I am pleased to see that the suggestion got through.
