Warranty Replacements

This has bee an on going issue for me and I am starting to get very upset. I have been a loyal customer to Verizon since 2007 and always pay my bill never have any issues. Almost Two years ago I bought my first iPhone 5 from Verizon. I had it 15 days and had an issue with the camera. The store wouldn't replace it and give me a new one they just told me to file warranty or go to an apple store. I got my phone swapped at apple was happy for a long time with it, Before the power button started acting up. I then contacted Verizon tech support and they got me a new one out next day. Within a month the replacement phone quit vibrating. So then i again contacted Verizon tech support and they sent me another replacement. reminding you theses are all "Factory Certified" refurbished phones. After having that one a short period of time less than a month the Home button on the phone no longer was functioning. I again contacted Verizon very upset at this point because nobody can issue me anything but a refurbished phone. So i got one more replacement and come to find out the very next day before i even sent my broken phone back the one they sent me has a "faulty battery" after Verizon tech support did a remote diag on my phone. Somebody please help me and get this sorted out. My phone is what I use for work and if my phone doesn't work I cant make any money. Im vert frustrated with Verizon and that fact that no one can give me anything other than a replacement crap refurbished phone that has is potentially worse than my original. In all of this keeping in mind I HAVE ONLY HAD A BRAND NEW PHONE FOR 15 DAYS AFTER THAT I HAVE ONLY HAD A REFURBISHED PHONE the entire time I have had my iPhone this is very upsetting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  can Some please help me

Apple sucks? They are amazing well engineered devices. What this person is experiencing is far from normal. If it were me I would have had the button fixed and not settled for a refurb. Even if I had to pay out of pocket, though you can do it yourself easily. I've replaced many batteries myself, screens and back glass. Why trade an entire phone with one issue for an entirely "new" used phone with unknown issues? Doesn't make sense to me. Good luck with your issue though!
So Apple makes "amazing well engineered devices" yet in the next few sentences you describe how you've many batteries, screens and back glass. I don't understand.
I had used 4 different models of iPhone. I had an iPhone 4's power button break, an iPhone 4S screen turn blue, an iPhone 5 secondary mic stop working making it useless for FaceTime without a wired headset, then the iPhone 5 replacement bent and then the screen on that one popped out resulting in a third replacement that never activated to my account properly. So...NO...Apple does not make "amazing well engineered devices".
I an LG G2 that I am no longer using for the sole fact that I threw it in the air and broke the screen. If that had not happened I'd still be using it. I have an LG G3. I will never buy an iPhone again.
Oh. They iPhone is 2-3 years behind in software and hardware over almost any Android device.

  • IPhone 3G warranty replacement service NZ

I have just experienced abysmal repair service for the iphone. It seems it is a New Zealand issue and I am interested to hear if anyone else has had similar experiences or whether this is just a one-off, bad-luck case?
I bought my first iphone 3G outright (at a $1000) at magnummac. It broke 11 months into the warranty period (unable to connect to any wifi network). I started by contacting vodafone, as directed by the apple website, and magnummac, and had to go through a game of being passed from one company to another for several months. In the end I had been in contact with the iphone service desk at vodafone (three times), magnummac (once on the phone, twice I drove to the shop), apple (once at the Genius bar in Paris, once in Sydney, and then on the phone to Australia), phoneinsure and finally mobilephoneRepair (twice in person at the shop and countless times on the phone). Apple eventually agreed that the problem was a hardware defect, extended the warranty (which had off course expired by then!) and replaced the iphone at no cost. It took mobilephoneRepair 24 hours to do this.
I had my second (replacement) phone 4 weeks, when it broke. This time it wouldn't even recognize any wifi network. By now I had done some searching on the internet and it seems this problem is not all that uncommon. I phoned apple direct and was assured it would be covered under warranty. I was given a case number, which would confirm this. However, this was when the truly terrible service started. Vodafone has now changed their after sales repair service provider from mobilephoneRepair to Bright Point. It will cost you $22.50, just to get the phone from one Auckland location to another. There is no option of dropping it off or picking it up yourself, because Bright Point does not deal directly with customers. The entire process of replacing a phone under warranty will take 2-3 weeks. Most of all, you will need to spend hours on the phone, speak to numerous people, explain your situation repeatedly and do all the groundwork of checking warranties yourself, because Bright point has no idea how to do this, or at least those staff dealing with customers queries, don't (and they don't seem to have access to the workshop staff, who need to make these warranty assessments). It has now been almost 3 weeks since I have handed my phone in, with all the details which were necessary to make a warranty replacement, and i still don't have a phone.
I won't bore you with all the sorry details, but I can tell you that everything I say here is true. In most other coutries, the apple Genius bar will deal with apple warranties, but we don't have an apple store in NZ. If vodafone NZ and apple NZ are trialling a new system, they need to know if it is failing miserably.
3 weeks is not an improvement on 24 hours. This is the 21st century, apple and vodafone are both big players in the market and customer service is a big issue for, well, all customers. What are they thinking??
Has anyone else had a similar experience?

    Thanks for the replies.
I agree that apple should sort it out. But that is precisely the problem. We don't have an apple store in New Zealand, so apple seems to be uninterested. I have been to the apple stores in Paris and Sydney, but they won't have anything to do with iphones which were not bought in that country. Even the apple nz website will only allow you to contact their support services if you have bought the phone online from them. For all other iphones, irrespective of where you bought them in New Zealand, apple has conveniently passed the responsibility on to the carrier, which is vodafone in New Zealand.
Both vodafone and magnummac (which is the store I had bought it at) won't fix it either - they pass it on to this third company (Brightpoint), which has been giving shocking service. 3 weeks turnaround for an iphone replacement in the 21st century, is terrible service.
Since when does a big company like apple allow a third rate outfit like Brightpoint to handle their warranty repairs and replacements. Are they not interested in good customer service?

If I'm Getting my iPhone an Out-of-Warranty Replacment for a cracked screen, do I need to tell them any information? I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and going to West Edmonton Mall to have an out-of-warranty replacment.

I'm assuming this is being done by Apple. Since you're getting a replacement iPhone, you obviously have to provide the them info they request regarding your broken phone and will have to update your carrier with the new info such as the IMEI #.

when a warranty replacement in hand, is it possible to change the 4s with 5 by extra fees?

Sadly, life is sometimes unfair. Although, I'm not certain why you feel you would be entitled to any form of upgrade. It is neither stated nor implied in any Apple literature.

  • How can I get a Brand New iPhone 3GS as a warranty replacement phone?

    4/26/2011
Does anyone how I can get a brand new iPhone 3GS as a warranty  replacement for my iPhone 3GS? I already had the phone replaced once with a refurbished phone that has a problem with becoming frozen and unresponsive. This occurred ten times since I got the phone on 4/16/2011. I have tried doing a hard reset and have also restored the phone as a new device. I have an Apple Care plan. I am concerned that the refurbished phones will not be reliable due to my experience with the refurbished  one that I got as a replacement.
    Thanks!

Thanks very much for your reply! I have a Genius Bar appointment today maybe they can test the phone to see if they can determine whether or not it is defective.
    Thanks Again!

  • Can i make use of the out of warranty replacement deal in the USA if im/my iphone is from Europe?

Well my iPhone 4 got water damage and looks dead to me, even putting it in a rice bag. So I read that there is an out of warranty replacement in the USA for $199. In a few days I'll be in the States... so I want to ask if it will be possible for me to get my European iPhone replaced in the US Apple Store?

Very, very unlikely as the iPhone warranty is generally valid only in the country of purchase.  The out of warranty replacement is also valid in Europe.  Just hop on down to your local Apple store for the exchange.

  • Why is Warranty replacement always a hassle?

I have had to replace my phone several times through the warranty program. Each time I have been given a phone that had problems. It seems as if they don't verify that these phones are working correctly before sending them to customers. And on top of that, I had the worst experience on getting my phone replaced today. I spent 2 hours in the Verizon store trying to get a replacement. The staff is rude and do not like help customers get a replacment phone.

        Hi JeremyId!
I'm sorry for any poor experience with the device you received as replacements. You should be treated with the utmost respect, and a sense of urgency when we have contact with you. When it comes to warranty replacements, the same make and model is provided to you.
Please keep in mind that we can help you as well, and save you a trip to the store. You are able to contact us over the phone, through Social Media, and in the forums. Though the forums are peer-to-peer, they are still monitored by Verizon Wireless.
    Thanks,

  • Did Apple increase the Out of Warranty Replacement cost for iPhone 5 from $229 to $269?

Did Apple increase the Out of Warranty Replacement cost for iPhone 5 from $229 to $269?
I would have expected this cost to decrease not increase with the announcement of the new iPhones yesterday.

I think they must have increased it recently because I was told $269 to replace my iPhone 5 on 9/13/13.  I don't know how iPhone 5 replacements are going to work out now that they won't be carrying them anymore.

  • Warranty replacement not the same as phone that died

The battery on my Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX HD stopped working properly last week. After taking it to a Verizon store here in the Cleveland area where a tech ran diagnostics, he decided a warranty replacement was in order.  The new phone showed up as promised, but it was not a one-for-one replacement.
The new phone is a garden variety DROID RAZR, not the MAXX HD, had only 16 Gb of memory, and no SD card slot.  My previous phone was a MAXX HD, had a 32 Gb of storage space, and a slot for a 32 Gb SD card that I put in it for photos, videos, and music.
When I called Verizon to complain, the customer service rep said, basically, what you get is what you get. The firm no longer has any of the original models in stock.  I'd already invested four hours in going to the store, changing phones, and slimming down my wireless world. When the CSR told me to call the replacement office, I gave up. I mean, what's the point of talking to customer service if they can't solve an obvious issue?
Not only did Verizon fail to honor the terms of its warranty, it also ignored my protest that having paid insurance for the phone, as I see it I was due a one-for-one replacement, and not just any substitute refurbished model that happened to be in stock.
With the new smaller phone, I've had to strip out a lot of apps that just won't fit in the 16 Gb space.  Sorry Facebook users, but you'll have to see me on the desktop in the evening.
Meanwhile, the new phone comes with unremovable crapware including a caller ID, wallet, and NFL football among others.
I've been a Verizon customer since the mid 1990s. Guess I need to give that relationship some more thought. The current contract runs out next March. I'll look at my options then.
BTW: The manager of the Verizon store sent me a text message asking if Verizon had met all my needs. I wonder if he knows that while he's beating his brains out to make people happy, another part of the business is doing just the opposite?

  • Ipod touch 4g has broken pins and the hold button is defective, is it eligible for off warranty replacement  online it says it'd be $99.99

    i have an ipod touch 4g 16gb ios 6.1.5.
the dock port pins are damaged badly, music has not played for a while but is come and go now. dont know why (without headphones)
and the hold button doesn't work,  will apple still honor the "off warranty replacement thingy" i had issues with my old ipod (not dock issues)
i know they check the dock port on arrival, but i need to know if the ipod will qualify or not
    thanks in advance

Almost assuredly the answer is yes.  Take it to an Apple store for replacement or contact them using the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page.

  • Apple does not warranty replacement phones!?

So I got my phone wet, and went to the apple store and paid for a replacement. The refurb had issues from day one with the power button, it stopped working in about a weeks time. I tried several time to get in but I have not been able to wait, with my schedule I dont have time to sit around for hours.  I finally got in today, after waiting long past my appointment time and now they say it is out of warranty, and they list my original purchase of the phone as when the warranty started, and apparently dont warranty the replacement phone at all. I can believe Apple will not warranty replacement phones at all, that is just poor business.

Sadly I changed banks when I moved and cant even access my old bank records to get proof that way. I have owned at least 20 macs in my life, still have my old working 128k, several i devices and this BS is making want to switch for the first time in my 30 years.
So, one of out 20 devices has an issue... and that's enough reason for you to say, "I'm switching!"?
Um, okay.  Good luck with that.
A replacement iPhone from Apple has a 90 day coverage.  Apple Support or an Apple Store should be able to see the date of device replacement, even without a receipt.  Talk to them again.  Ask for a Manager or Senior Advisor.

  • Warranty replacement shipping issues (Poor Customer Service)

This entire customer service experience has been a complete nightmare.  From mystery hardware problems to a Warranty replacement gone wrong, I'm 100% dissatisfied with HP right now.
This all started when my office printer (LaserJet Pro 200 Color MFP M27) started showing an error code.  it's been so long ago now, I don't even remember what it WAS, but my entire company of IT professionals couldn't get it to work.  We contacted HP through chat to get a warranty replacement, as we were still covered.  I can understand that they need to ask some questions to rule out certain issues and maybe avoid an unessecary replacement, but we were on this support chat for OVER AN HOUR, being asked "have you tried plugging it back in?  Have you tried removing all the ink cartridges?..."
But the fun didn't stop here, no.  We finally got to set up a warranty exchange, and I checked my chat log... I gave the correct adress.  I got the tracking number and monitored the shipment.  It came in to the UPS facility on a friday, was marked as "incorrect address" and sat, waiting for someone from HP to respond and/ or reach out to us to correct it.  Nobody did, (I never got any emails or calls either), and as of Monday, the printer was HEADED BACK TO HP.
I'm going on 2 weeks now without a printer and I can't get in contact with anybody from HP because my warranty on the current printer sitting, useless, in my office has been "canceled" as soon as they shipped the replacement.  I can't get in a support chat because my warranty is no longer in effect and I don't have the S/N of the new printer to get in either.  I can't email anyone directly.  I tried to dispute the warranty, explained my situation in the notice, and got an email that said "Sorry, you have reached the warranty department.  Contact the correct department", and a link to right back where I started.  I'm being pushed around in circles and I am not amused.
Now what are my options?  Pay $30+ for a phone call?  I need this printer, and I'm not paying a single cent for HP's mistakes.
My suggestion?  Get your act together.  This is entire fiasco is pathetic.

AZRiddle, I hope you're feeling better since being released from the hospital. Even as a big company, we understand that some life changes are unavoidable. I'm sorry to hear that your issue is has still not been addressed after several phone calls to our Customer Service Department.
