Web Interface Transport

Hi,
I have a problem transporting the web interfaces. I have a request attached to the web interfaces in the development box and it's under a transportable package. When I move it to QA client, the web interfaces don't work and it seems like they need to be generated there. When I try to generate it in QA, I get an error message like this :
System setting does not allow changes to be made to object WAPA Z700UPSZCPTACTL
Am I doing something wrong? What is the regular way of trasporting the web interfaces?

Hi Baris,
the steps to do are in my opinion:
1. Create WIF with TA BPS_WB and assign it to a transportable package
2. Generate your WIF and assign it to a transport request
3. Go to TA SICF and activate the service of your created WIF
4. After activation of the corresponding service in TA SICF use the menu Goto-->Object Directory Entry(also in SICF) and assign this service to the correct package
5. Assign this to your transport request
6. Transport of all requests
Maybe it is possible that you have to activate the service in your target system after transport..

Facing problem in transportation of web Interface

Hi BPS Experts,
I am facing problem in transporting the web interface.
As part of one enhancement I have made some changes to one of the objects in web Interface in Integration system. Before doing transportation to consolidation, generated the new BSP application as well as saved the customized changes under one request for transport.
Used the request number for Transporting to consolidation. The Layout in the consolidation is displaying error message as follows
*Error with initialization or error on BSP*
Component with name Group_Selection1 does not exist
BSP application ZEBSP08_RF does not exist. Regenerate
and when i check the web interface under BPS_WB transaction in consolidation. i able to see the change in objects which i made in integration.
Please help in solving this problem in Layout.

Hi Ravi,
Create the same function group and send it into test system with another TR.
Once it get transported to test system, try to activate FM & FG.

Web Interfaces can be displayed incorrectly in QA system after transported

Dears,
I transported Web Interfaces for BPS from D system to Q system. I activate the BSP application in transation SE80 and activate the service node in transaction SICF in Q system. However, the BSP can't be displayed correctly with NO_METADATA_AVAILABE error.Also, I test the HTTP service in Q system, it works well. The transport steps I followed:
1) change the package of BSP application (SE80 D system)
2) write transport entry to new request (SE80 D system)
3) switch the correspoding service node to new object directory entry (SICF D system)
4) transport the request to Q system
5) activate BSP application (SE80 Q system)
6) activate BSP service node (SICF Q system)
Am I missing configuring something? or completely wrong steps? Any suggestions are appreciated.

What you can do to trigger a transport -
1. Go to transaction SE80
2. Open up type BSP application
3. Go to the content page and make minor changes, such as adding a text and then removing it
4. A transport request info would pop up
And then happy transporting!
I know that there's some transport option in the page itself too... but cannot recall where it was.

Error while calling RFC when using BSP Web Interface

we have a problem with the Authorization when we use an Web Interface for BSP. We have assigned all roles to the user which were mentioned in the SAP standard documentation:
R_AREA
R_METHOD
R_PACKAGE
R_PARAM
R_PLEVEL
R_PM_NAME
R_PROFILE
R_STS_PT
R_STS_SUP
R_WEBITF
S_RS_ADMWB
S_RS_AUTH
S_RS_COMP
S_RS_COMP1
S_RS_DAS
S_RS_ICUBE
but we still get the error message: "Error while calling RFC".
When using a user with SAP_ALL, it works.
What can we do?

Actually that's surprising - because BSP (Business Server Pages) and RFC (Remote Function Call) are not related; they use totally different transport protocols (http vs. RFC). Even if an BSP application is calling a function module remotely (acting as RFC client) no authorizations for S_RFC are required - in the calling system (but in the called system, i.e. the RFC server).
Since assigning SAP_ALL seems to "cure" the problem, it seems to be an authorization issue, indeed. In that case it makes sense to use the authorization trace (ST01 - notice: that's specific to one single ABAP application server; you might have to activate the trace on multiple instances) to find out which authorizations are checked / demanded.

Error in Executing Web Interface

I have created a Web Interface named "ZROLLHOSKEL".
It is working fine in Development system.
But when i run it in Production system(in Web Browser), I am getting following Error:

What happened?
Calling the BSP page was terminated due to an error.

The following error text was processed in the system:
BSP Exception: Das Objekt zrollhoskel.htm in der URL /sap/bc/bsp/sap/zrollhoskel/zrollhoskel.htm?sap-client=400&sap-language=EN&bps-design_messages=X ist nicht gültig.

When i Go to "Display Preview" option in Web Interface Builder, I am getting following Msg:
HTML page cannot be loaded
Message no. UPWB029
Diagnosis
Generate the BSP application once more.
I have generated it once again and transported to Production System. But still it gives same error.
I have also created HTTP Service for this and activated.
What could be the problem? Am i missing any step?
Please help me ASAP.

Hello Prasad,
Please perform the following check.
Generate the application once again, and check the status by "Jump->Interface overview or CTRL+F6". The status of your application should be green!
Execute the Application. If the same error is shown, then try the following:
1) Execute the Transaction SE80.
2) In the repository broswer, choose the object type as "BSP Application" and enter your BPS Web Application here "ZROLLHOSKEL". In short open up your web appilcation in Repository Browser.
3) Make sure that in "Page with flow logic", "zrollhoskel.htm" is there and is active. You could activate this page/complete application from here.
4) Choose "Test" from the context menu of this page.
5) You should then see a running application of your BPS Web Application!

Web Interfaces not display in Web interface builder

Hi All,
we transported web interfaces into the new system and we are unable to see them in web interface builder although I can see them in mime repository. The target system doesn't have appropriate web connection setting ( I can not run the web reports) yet, but I doubt this could be the problem......
Any idea how to make them visible in WIB.

Hello Pavel,
the web interface builder calls the web interface very similarly to an external browser. So if you HTTP and ICM setitngs are not correct (yet), the web interface can not be displayed in the builder.

URL dynamic in web interface

I have created a planning cockpit for the endusers to access the web interfaces I created from a single web interface using URL's.
I would like to know how I can get the URL dynamic as I have to transport this to the production system, having a different server name and port.

I am exactly looking for a FM like that. I would like to integrate a BW web report in the GUI planning folder using a function button. When pushing the button, the web report shoud open in IE. I thought the standard FM like "HR_ULR_CALL_BROWSER" would work, but I don't know how/where to enter the URL as Input parameter (except for copying the FM and creating for each report/url a different FM).
Could you let me know your solution?

Problems access to a web application (Web Interface or Web report)

We found problems with the access to web application. Some users have problems with direct links to the web applications(Web Interface or Web reporting), when they click on the link an error message appears, the message displays the following text:
"Cannot open file Bex?sap-language=ENbsplanguge=ENcmd=idoc_TE.."
Clicking in details the message is "No Access to specified file"
For this users the access to excel reporting is correct, the message appears when they click on the direct web links through the browser or directly in BW system, but if they type the URL they can access. Other users can use the direct web link without problems.
I highly appreciate any help or idea about how to solve this issue.

Unable to capture trace, when user logs in throuigh Web Interface

The Trace shows 'No Records Found', when user logs in through Web Interface of CRM. But there is Trace found, when the same user logs in through logon pad and carries out normal actvities.
sufficient auth. is provided.
Is there any setting in ST01, through which i can get trace , when user logs in through Web Interface

ST10 traces 1 instance only.
Your CRM web interface could use another instance than your backend. Go to transaction SM21, choose the appropriate server and run ST10 again.

LIST OF VALUES not Populating in BPS WEB INTERFACE ( LAYOUTS )

I have created a WEB interface for BPS in BI ( version 7.0) . But when i execute this in internet explorer, I do not get the LIST OF VALUES for Material.
When I click on "input help" the system open a new window for "Value selection". When I specify the material code, it gives me blank LIST OF VALUES.
But it is working for other fields like Customer, UOM in the same layout.
Please suggest some solution.

Master data is avaliable for the Material Code. The problem is in Internet Explorer and not in SAP GUI .
If i run Planning folder for the same layou in SAP GUI it is working fine.

ASA 5505 configured for WebVPN connecting to Citrix Web Interface.
i have a ASA 5505 that I am attempting to configure for WebVPN with passthrough into Web Interface . The user authenticates into WebVPN OK and gets the option to click on the Citrix Link (which is i add bookmark citrix server http:// 172.30.40.5.) i enter the citrix and then for example i want to open to outlook it can not open. (when i want to open some application no application is open)).there is no alarm at asa. how i solve this issue?

Can you confim that after disabling the ssl/tls on the Citrix server (secure connectivity) that you are getting exactly the same error. It is possible that it is generating a different error.
The bug where we have see the existing error was CSCtf06303 but that has been fixed in 8.4.1. Can you confirm the exact version of code you are running on the ASA.
If you have confirmed the above two notes it may be adventageous to open a TAC case as we may need to do some live additional troubleshooting.

Distortion in Save For Web interface

I am still having problems with my Save For Web interface. Attached is a screen where you can see that with just the Optimized view showing (in this case 72%), the picture looks as expected. But if I go to 2-up or 4-up views, the 2nd image (which was the 72% Optimized) is now all pixelated as if it were a GIF.

OMG! How many years have I been using this program and I have never noticed this until now?!?
Sorry for the brain fart and thanks for pointing that out!!!
I am really having a good laugh at myself about this one!

Cisco AP 1131AG Web Interface Problem

Hello,
I purchased two Cisco access points (model AIR-AP1131AG-A-K9) from a seller on eBay. The Access Points power up fine and are able to get an IP address (I can see the AP's MAC address on my router), but it won't let me connect to the web interface to manage it. I have tried using different browsers, but they all say something along the lines of "The page could not be found" when I enter the IP address into my browser. No login screen, no nothing: just a time-out error.
When the Access Points are powered on, the Ethernet and Radio lights start out green, but then the Ethernet light stays green and the radio light flashes amber and the two alternate being lit. The status light on the outside of the Access Point goes from green to orange to red and back again, looping infinitely.
Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks for any and all help in advance! (Please let me know if you need more information; I don't ahve the AP's with me, but I will be home in a few hours and can respond then.)

do a show cdp neighbor detail on the port the AP is connected to. Take a look at the software that is running, IOS will show k9w7, and lightweight will show k9w8.
if it''s k9w8, you'll need to convert them back to IOS

Displaying a BW query in web interface

Hello People ,
I am trying to see a BW query in a web interface . I will tell you how am I doing it . I run the transaction RRMX which opens an excel sheet and gives me a tol bar from which I open a query . Then I choose info areas from the next window and it shows me a tree structure with two nodes
1) Financial
2) Industry sectors
I expand industry sectors > retail > staff works
This takes me to two nodes
1)       operational
2)       sales infocube
I expand sales infocube and this takes me to a couple of nodes
1)       Key business driver
2)       Manager forcasted sales
3)       Productivity data source
4)       .
5)       .etc
I select key business driver and choose the CHANGE icon from the toolbar . This opens the query designer . There I have an icon in the toolbar which says display quey on web . I click that and it attempts to display the query in internet explorer .
Now the problem is the the message that appears on the browser is
Warning sign : variable OFPER for characterstic fiscal year/period has been converted to required entry .
Error sign : Error when generating data provider .
Now my question is what does this message mean ?Does this mean that the required content that I am trying to access has not been activated or there is some configurational issue ?

Hi Deepak,
It means that there is a selection screen for Fiscal period in which you have to enter the Fiscal Period. Only for the Fiscal period for which you entered the data would be displayed.
But the best way to create teh web report is to goto Web Application Designer -> Drag and drop the "Table" webitem on the right hand side -> Assign the Query to the web item. Now execute it in browser from the Web Application designer. Copy the link and use it whenver you want it.
