Web Jetadmin 10.2

I have a desktop running W7 Pro 64bit. I've downloaded the 64bit version of Web Jetadmin. I'm logged on to the desktop with a domain administrative account. I've right clicked the exe file and selected "Run as administrator".
After accepting the defaults, the software starts installing and then tells me "Error 1920. Service HPWSProAdapter failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
The first time this happened, I added my domain administrative account in to the local administrators group on the desktop and tried again. Same result.
I then went in to services and the service exists, so I changed the service logon to my domain admin account. No go - same problem.
I then tried starting the service - if I change the logon account for the service to the local administrator, I get told the service failed to start because of a logon failure, even though I can log on to the desktop with the same account!
I've now changed the service logon account to a local system account and I get the error "Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly".
Does anyone have any ideas on how I get this software installed and working, please.
Thanks
Phil

Hi Phil, has there been any resolution to this?  I am having the same error when trying to launch the service.  I'm using Windows 7 SP1, web jet admin 10.2.74918
Hi Jon_M,
As mentioned by Mikemad and as referenced by this WJA Late Breaking News document, HP is currently working on resolving this issue for a future release.
From the referenced document: "If you want to manage these HP models, HP recommends that you run HP Web Jetadmin 10.2 Service Release 5 on a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 host without SP1 updates. HP is investigating this issue and will provide a resolution in a future release."
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

  • HP LJ M4555 MFP no Device Utilization Data Collection in Web Jetadmin 10.2.77156 (SR6)

Recently added three newer HP LaserJet M4555 MFPs to our Web Jetadmin Data Collection for reporting.  The Data Collection for Accessory Inventory, Supply Utilization, Device Inventory and Event Log History all worked - they return a Collection Status of Collection Succeeded.
However the Device Utilization returns a Collection Status of Device Error (not very helpful).
    We're using
    Web Jetadmin 10.2.77156 (SR6)
I couldn't see anything flagged in this doco as to why it might not work:
    http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01894187/c01894187.pdf
    All three MFPs are

I couldn't see anything flagged in this doco as to why it might not work:

We have several older M4555 MFPs that we are collecting this data from successfully - I've tried to compare settings and can't see anything different standing out.  They do have older firmware.
    Firmware Datecode: 20110225

    and
    Firmware Datecode: 20111217
    Firmware Revision: 2131305_192067
Any MFP with any of these firmware revisions report the data fine.
Does anyone know if there is a particular setting that is required to allow the Device Utilization Data Collection?
Or if there are any known incompatibilites with this firmware revision?

I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .

  • HP Web Jetadmin 10.2.74918 - Latest Firmware

I'm looking for the rfu/dld files for a whole load of printers so I can add them to the HP Web Jetadmin. I used to have a link (which i have cleverly lost) Is there still a central store (url) of all of these?
E.G HP Laserjet CP1025NW doesn't have a file download on the HP site only a Download Utility and need connectivity to the printer to install.
    Any help appreciated.
    Andrew

    Hello.
I think this can be the cause of the problem, it is from the late break news of the version 10.2.71771.
At this time, HP Web Jetadmin is not supported on Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 (as a
server host platform). HP plans to support these versions of Windows in a future release.
There is a newer version on the download site 10.2.73942 SR5, it mite helpful to use the newest version.

Well, beside the fact that you are unfortunately perpetuating an off topic dicussion in this forum, let me also allow to contradict you.
The Novell client for Vista does not fully work on Windows 2008. There are functions that don't work properly, especially anything that handles the terminal services functionality. For that reason, Novell is currently beta testing the V2 client which will have full Windows 2008 support.

  • Custom Webpage with data from Web JetAdmin

We are currently using Web JetAdmin to monitor a large fleet of network printers spread across our campus.  I love the features of the application but I would like to see if there is a way to simplify the interface a little bit.  I would like to see if it is possible to create a custom webpage with the status images of the printers that Web JetAdmin provides on the application interface.  Essentially what I would like to do is create a grid of these images for each printer so we could constantly monitor the status of these printers.
Any ideas how I could do this?
    Thanks
    -Jesse

    hi there,
U can copy that data into a excell file in a fixed format. After that using SQL*Loader u can import that data into oracle database.
But fix one format so that u can easily dump that data into oracle database when ever u want with out much effort.
    Cheers

  • HP Web Jetadmin, PC-CONNECTED printer and Toner level problem

HP Web Jetadmin 10.3.93994 (10.3 SR7) running on Windows Server 2012 (Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0),
HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP is connected via USB to the computer with Windows 7 SR1 64.
The latest drivers installed, SNMP, HP SNMP Proxy_64_10_3_0010 and HPWSProxyService_10_3_1 installed.
HP ToolboxFX shows the toner level, the approximate number of pages remaining, cartridge serial number, etc.
HP SNMP Proxy is not working.
HP WS Proxy runs, HP Web Jetadmin displays all but the state of supplies - writes "not available".
File HPWSProxyServiceLog.log errors and warnings does not contain, at the level "All" has many lines of "Calling UIO for ..." with the result of "Status code is 200".
When printer as networked - this is no problem - Jetadmin shows everything including toner's level.
Does HPWSProxyService_10_3_1 support status of supplies (toner level) for printer HP LaserJet M1536dnf MFP?

  • Printer Settings Through HP Web JetAdmin

We have recently started using HP Web JetAdmin to configure our print devices with templates. Once of the template settings is to display the hostname on the LCD display on the printer. This setting applies successfully and works until the device reboots. After reboot, the setting reverts back to showing the IP Address. Is there a way to force those settings to persist beyond reboots? Thanks in advance.

  • Web Jetadmin 10.1 Fax activity question.

I'm trying to get some stats on our faxing activitiy for 32 printers.  I tried running a report but -- no data.  So I ran a Data Collection on Device Utilizaton...but it's only reporting back what's happend SINCE I did the collection.
I know that the Fax Activity Logs are still available, and I can get them by walking up to the machine and manually printing them out.  What I was wondering is if there is a way to get to  this information through Web Jetadmin.
    Thanks.

I am not certain where this should be posted to get the best answer.
The Web Jetadmin support page only lists contact support or submit a ticket as support options.  You can try one of these two options.
Alternatively, you could try the Business Support Forums.  I was not able to find a support forum specifically for Web Jetadmin, but you could try the LaserJet forums as I am certain most businesses are using it with LaserJet printers.

  • Web JetAdmin page counter/paper usage

I suddenly inherited responsibilities from fired printer administrator and can't figure some really basic thing in WJA - I need to create monthly paper usage per printer report, but can't get necessary data... "Report" function give me bogus numbers. :/ It seems, that fired guy just used "Page Counter" - he noted value at the beggining of the month, and at the end. Not very elegant or sophisticated way of doing this, but whatever get the job done I guess... Anyway, is there a way, to get this sort of data from specific day (start of the month) without scheduled data gathering? I'm short on time, and can't figure this out with WJA manual.
Sorry for my bad english. :/
