Web Template Publishing in the Portal

Hi All,
I have created web template in Web Application Designer. I can execute it from WAD to the portal.
If I need to open it directly from Portal, How will I be able to open it? How can I save a web template in the portal.
I tried to braodcast it from WAD to portal using Broadcaster I have mandatory variable in my query I am not being able to assign values to it in broadcaster.
Thanks
Raghu

  • NW2004s: Assigning a custom theme to a web dynpro running in the portal

    The situation is as follows:
Some web-dynpros (for java) have a custom theme, a theme which is <b>not</b> the default theme of the portal or  the default theme for web-dynpros in general.
In NW2004 this worked as follows:
When starting a web-dynpro in the portal it checked if it was started with the right theme. If <b>not</b> the exit plug of the WD interface view was called with an Url of the WD application plus a parameter for the right theme.
This is the famous parameter sap-cssurl.
For that parameter there are some values possible:
    1) sap-cssurl=http://<host>:<port>/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata/themes/portal/mytheme
    2) sap-cssurl=http://<host>:<port>/irj/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.portaldesigndata/themes/portal/mytheme
    3) sap-cssurl=http://<portal>:<host>/webdynpro/resources/sap.com/tcwddispwda/global/SSR/themes/mytheme
The first 2 are locations of the portal environment, the last one is a location of the WD runtime environment.
As I noticed this must be a full qualified absolute Url including host and port.
This works in NW2004 for web dynpro's running standalone <b>AND</b> in the portal.
    Now for NW2004s:
The 3 variants of the parameter sap-cssurl work for web dynpro's running standalone.
But now for web dynpro's which are integrated in the portal:
The exit-plug with an Url is not possible anymore, this leads to the runtime error:
<i>com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Exit-Plug must no be triggered with an URL when running in portal. Use portal navigation instead to navigate to another application!</i>
Okay, as a first workaround I tried the portal navigation,
but somehow the supplied parameter sap-cssurl has no effect.
The code for that in the on-startup plug of the WD component:
    WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute(
      PCD_ID,
      WDPortalNavigationMode.SHOW_INPLACE,
      null,
      null,
      WDPortalNavigationHistoryMode.NO_HISTORY,
      null,
      null,
      "theme_set=X&" + theme,
       theme,
       false,
       true
I used there absolute portal navigation and the  parameter (sap-cssurl=...) is part of the <b>launcher parameter</b> and the <b>business parameter</b> in the call to <b>WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute</b>.
But as I wrote above, this has no effect on the theme.
In the I-View the parameter "Supply portal theme" is set to <b>NO</b>, otherwise the parameter "sap-cssurl" is supplied twice (this can be seen in the poroperties of the web-page in Internet Explorer).
What I tried afterwards was setting the parameter sap-cssurl hardcoded in the "Application parameters" of the I-View. This doesn't work either.
My question is: Should this be anyway possible for a NW2004s portal?
    Did anyone successfully implement this?
    Kind regards,
                Erich Lind

    Hi Erich,
I am facing the same problem. I am on 04 s and couldnot implement the custom theme to a web dynpro running in the portal. When I run the web dynpro app as stand alone, the custom theme applies fine. But when in portal, it takes the standard theme.
Was wondering if you figured this out.
    Thanks

  • What is the Web Dynpro tab on the portal page?

    Newbie here...
I am confused between NDWS and the Web Dynpro tab on the portal page.  As I don't have access to either right now, I need to know what is required by a Portal Content Admin to maintain an application.  The Basis people do the JCO setup.  Those are the only tabs I have seen when using the Web Dynpro tab from the portal, not NDWS.  Seeing as I don't have access to either tool, and I have to ask for what I need and I don't know what I need...  Been there?
I guess my question is the use of the two tools.
    Thanks,
    Amy Smith
    Haworth, Inc.

Thanks so much for a quick response!
So, the Web Dynpro Content Admin is normally a part of the content admin role.  Hmm... I get a "you are not authorized" when I click that tab, even though I can do iViews, etc. and was told I have the content admin role.  So if no one edited the rights of the content admin, I should be able to get into Web Dynpro Content Admin tool.  Is this so?  Is there any special user config, check box, etc in addition to the role?
Is the Dynpro content admin tool useful for content admins or content developers?
My Basis person does not want the content admin to be able to change JCO settings.  Is there a way to give the content admin rights to everything in the WDCA   except that?
Thanks again.  I am a J2EE developer who volunteered to take content admin and content development roles and am trying to figure out what has been done here and what needs to be done.  On top of that anyone who has been involved claims "I know nothing..."  until I ask specific questions.  It's just hard to know what the specific questions are.
I know, training...  No money. Sigh...  I am good at doing tutorials and reading manuals and experimenting, however, I need access to the right tools and permissions first.
    Thanks again.

  • How to Execute a Web Template Without Using the Cache?

    Hi All,
I am trying to execute a webt emplate to determine performance and optimisation. The trick is that the web template starts using the cache. Is there any way to turn off the cache for the web template? Maybe using a URL parameter or something?
Thanks in advance for any assistance provided.

    Hi,
You can do it thru RSRT, choosing HTML, the query and the template, then in the menu you have to check the box dont use cache, aggragates and BIA.

  • Web template report error in portal

    Hi,
I got this error message when trying to open reports from portal in production.
How can I resolve this issue.
General exception in deploy transformation for object "WEB_TEMPLATE"
I don't get the same error in Quality and Development environments.
    thanks

    Hi Gurus,
does anybody has any idea how I can resolve this issue.
I couldn't find any problem with the web template.
    thanks

  • Web Template not displayed via Portal

    Hi,
Maybe someone ran into this, I could not find a solution. I have developed a Web Template. The Web Template is emedded in an iView. The iView is embedded in a Page. The Workset links to the Page and is assigned to a role.
In our development environment everything runs fine. In our quality environment, the Web Template is not shown when it is accessed via the portal role (it seems some default template is shown) . However...if I preview the Page everything works.
    Any hints?
    Thanks,
    Jeroen

I executed the program RSPARAM. The parameter ms/redirect_version is set to 0 in both DEV and Q. Furthermore the iView version is set to 2.x/3.x.
I also checked RSCUSTV27. Currently we have no templates maintained there (DEV and Q). If I look at RSCUSTV21, we have the template ZADHOC maintain for the Ad-hoc Analysis. Removing it does not help (it still shows the ZADHOC), but maintaining my template PM_REPORT_70 there seems to get the whole thing working. This is not a solution as it is a global parameter.
Under the role I have another Web Template that did not work at first as well. It would just give me a time-out. After maintaining the (Anwendungsparameter) Applicationparameter VARIABLE_SCREEN=X it suddenly worked.
The Page I am having issues with contains 2 iViews. A web template on the top and a html page in the bottom. When setting the Applicationparameter VARIABLE_SCREEN=X there it did not help.

  • How to restrict material output in the report published in the portal

    Hi all,
I am new to BI 7.  I have a series of materials that start with the material IDs TR52, RL25, XY56 and son on.  Now my user wants to view only the materials that are starting with the ID TR52 when he runs the report from the portal. In the material box when I type in TR I am getting the list of all the materials, the same is happening even when I try TR*.  What should I do so that I can restrict the report output only to a particular material ID that my user types in?
    Please help.
    Thank you.
    TR.

    Hi Friends,
    Thank you for the reply.
I tried to exclude the values, but i dont find any chance to exclude them
If i try the same from characteristic restriction, its allowing me to exclude.
Is there any other possibility to restrict these? Please suggest

  • I would like to find an HTML web template similar to the "classic" and "Flash Gallery (default)" templates in Lightroom 5. I like the layout of thumbnails on the left and the selected image on the right, but I want an HTML, not a Flash, version. Where can

    Ditto the above

Here are the two images (one is of the shirt, one is of the fabric). I can get higher resolution images if needed. What do you think?

I don't mind it taking a long time, as long as the results are repeatable as I want to be able to do this with 20 fabrics or so and I want it to look as real as possible. I am a novice at Photoshop, would you recommend I pay someone to accomplish this? How long do you think it would take? Is it something I could learn because I plan on doing 20 of them and maybe more?

  • Web Templates in Portal

    Chaps,
We've got couple of Templates built for BW Reporting.
Now, in the SAP Portal I noticed that the BW reports are shown in different customized web templates.
        My question is,
        (1) Can we have multiple Web Templates published in SAP Portal for different BEx reports ?
        (2) If there is a default setting for the Web Template that we do in RSCUSTV27 T-Code, how can we still have multiple Web Templates for BW Reports in Portal ?

    Hi,
You can use different web templates for your BEx Reports depending on your requirement. You can include your reports in webtemplates and then integrate these web templates in portal by creating Iviews.
The setting you make in Transaction RSCUSTV27 is for setting the Standard web template. This will be used
when you execute a query in BEx Web Analyzer ( from Query designer).
when you integrate a query in portal by providing the query name (instead of providing the web template name)
By default the standard web template used is 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN. You can override this using transaction RSCUSTV27 or SAP Reference IMG under SAP Netweaver -> Business Intelligence -> Reporting-Relevant Settings -> BEx Web -> Set Standard Web Templates.

  • Query related to BEx query and web template migration

    Hi,
We are upgrading our BW system from BW 3.5 to 7.3 and also planning to migrate the existing BEx 3.X queries and web templates to BEx 7.x version.
We have BEx queries and web templates published on enterprise portal in roles.
My query is that after we migrate BEx 3.5 queries and web templates to new version, do we need to re-publish these (migrated) queries and web templates on the portal or users will be able to access the reports without any issues.
or are there any post migration steps that we need to follow so that reports (with migrated version) are available to the end users through portal as before.
    Thanks,
    Tarun.

  • Report/Query/Web Template Listing - Catalog

    Hi all,
We are NW2004S SP10 and would like to know if anyone has implemented a report catalog that lists all the custom reports/queries created by functional area?
We could search the Metadata repository, but it is not organized well.
Also I have looked at an article in BWExpert - which is for BW3.5 and also requires manual maintainence.
Any ideas/thoughts in this regard will be appreciated.

I have similar issues related to the below threads. I'm able to retrieve the statistics for queries executed in BEx but not for the queries or BEx Web templates executed through the portal. Are there any workarounds for this issue?
How to find BEx queries that were not used along with no of times executed

  • Web template migration (3.5 - 7.0) & stylesheet is not found/used

    Hey,
we just made some web template migrations from 3.5 to 7.0. After the migration was done successfully, the migrated stylesheet link is not working anymore. This came apparent by opening the web template in the browser where the standard colours and fonts of the sap css files are shown.
Does anybody know, how to add a own stylesheet within the WAD 7.0? The problem is, that obviously after migrating a template the link is not good anymore.
Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hi Andreas,
I am on BI 7.0 and tring to change the look and feel of the web template by changing the Portal theme.
When I go to Portal themes I see an option for BI 3.0 reports and not BI 7.0 reports and when I make the changes to BI 3.0 reports they do not affect in 7.0 templates.
Can you please let me know how did you solve your problem, because changing Portal theme does not seem to help for BI 7.0 reports.
    Thanks,
    Vivek

  • NO header detail appears when downloading to excel from web template

When we run our queries via a web template and through the portal we get the results which shows the query title and report details. When we try to download this to excel the header(report title etc. )information doesn't come down but all the rest of the report does. If we go in again and change the variable values for characteristics (query is being changed and run the web template (via portal)again and download to excel the header (report title etc.)the whole report title and report detail now appear. Looking for someone who has resolved this problem.

For anyone who is interested, this was caused by our email client, not BIP.
