Weblogic 12c JSF2 and EJB3.1 using CDI injection , in separate jar files
I am trying to inject a stateless EJB and managed Bean of JSF2 into a CDI managed controller.
That means using @inject replace @EJB of EJB and @Named of CDI replace @ManageBean in JSF2 , EJB3.1 and JSF2 in separate jar files.
At result,My test gets the following Exception in weblogic 12c。
If EJB in separate files and Managed Bean of JSF in WEB-INF/classes not separte file, then no problem.

This is a Weblogic 12.1.1 bug (a patch is available), explained here:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24329_01/doc.1211/e26593/issues.htm#BCFGBBBE
extract:
If a WAR file has two embedded bean deployment archive JARs (that is, JARs that contain META-INF/beans.xml), an UnsatisfiedDependencyException occurs if a class in one JAR contains an @Inject that is of a type that is defined in the other JAR.

Weblogic 12c cluster and EJB 3.1 timers
Hello!
I'm using Weblogic 12c (12.1.1.0) Cluster.
I configured the cluster to use database for EJB timers (ACTIVE and WEBLOGIC_TIMERS tables). I created a persistence store with logical name 'timerst'.
The timer bean:
@Stateless
public class TimerTestBean {
private Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(TimerTestBean.class);
@Resource
TimerService timerService;
public void settimer() {
logger.info("settimer");
timerService.createTimer(30000, "New timer");
@Timeout
public void zszszszs(Timer arg0) {
logger.info("Tick");
settimer();
weblogic-ejb-jar.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<wls:weblogic-ejb-jar xmlns:wls="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-ejb-jar" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/ejb-jar_3_1.xsd http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-ejb-jar http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-ejb-jar/1.3/weblogic-ejb-jar.xsd">

</wls:stateless-session-descriptor>
</wls:weblogic-enterprise-bean>
<wls:timer-implementation>Clustered</wls:timer-implementation>
</wls:weblogic-ejb-jar>
It seems the timer starts normally.
When there timer fires, I've got the following error message:
java.lang.ClassCastException: timertest.TimerTestBean_9kqf6o_Impl cannot be cast to javax.ejb.TimedObject
What is wrong?
Thanks

I have just downloaded a trial version of Photoshop Elements onto my Mac Book Pro (10.9.4). The installation to my hard drive went fine so I attempted to use Elements on an existing Photoshop file. I did not see the Elements option in my filter menu and am uncertain as to how to "add" the Elemnts to my existing filter choices. Please advise.
I'm sorry but it's very hard to understand what you mean. What filter menu? In which program? Do you mean you're trying to use PSE as an external editor with some other asset management program? Which one?

To add the JNI dll to the jar file and use the dll inside the jar file
Hi to everybody,
I am new to java.
I want to add the JNI dll to the jar file and use it in the java class.
How can I achieve it.
Please help me.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
M.Sivadhas.can't be done because none of the known operating systems support reading binary libraries from .jar files ... you can add the binary to the jar but then you have to extract it...
besides, mixing platform specific and platfrom independent components is not a very good idea, i'd keep the dll out of the jar to begin with -
Java class uses another class in a Jar file (How do I make Java see it)?
I am trying to figure out how do I make Javac see the thinlet.class in the thinlet.jar.
I have developed an XUL xml interface and a java program that calls the interface shown below:
//package thinlet.demo;
import thinlet.*;
public class UI extends Thinlet
{ public UI () throws Exception {add(parse("UI.xml"));}
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
{ new FrameLauncher("UI", new UI(), 600, 600); }}
when I do the normal compile, I get an error:
UI.java:4: cannot find symbol
symbol: class Thinlet
public class UI extends Thinlet {
^
UI.java:7: cannot find symbol
symbol : method parse(java.lang.String)
location: class thinlet.demo.UI
add(parse("UI.xml"));
^
UI.java:12: cannot find symbol
symbol : class FrameLauncher
location: class thinlet.demo.UI
new FrameLauncher("UI", new UI(), 600, 600);
^
3 errors
This thinlet class should be in the thinlet.jar that I have added the directory to the path, the directory and jarfile name to the System CLASSPATH and it couldn't see it. So finally I tried putting the thinlet.jar in the same directory to no avail. I've searched the web for some time an cannot find anything that specifically speaks to compiling a program that has parent classes in a Jar.
Any help is definitely appreciated.This thinlet class should be in the thinlet.jar that I have added the directory to the path, the directory and jarfile name to the System CLASSPATH and it couldn't see it. Any help is definitely appreciated.You just still haven't provided the jar in the classpath, or you're not using the right class name. Is the class really named thinlet.Thinlet? Or are you thinking "import thinlet.*" means to import all classes in a jar named thinlet.jar? Because the latter is not true. You need to import classes, not jar file names. -
I have PE11and LR5 and want to use/create one catalog or source file.
When I use the LR5 function "upgrade PE catalogue" for use in LR5 it works very well (first time! great new function) - however - it does not recognize the 6000 photos the still are in the subfolders from "my pictures" like c:/my pictures/adobe/digital camera/date these files where created by earlier PE versions.
So the question(s) are:
1. How to move all the photos in sub folders from "my pictures" - without having to do that one by one - so the LR5 function "upgrade PE catalogue" will recognise all the photos
2. Is there another way to build one source file "my pictures" to use both in PE11 and LR5 without loosing metadata - qualifications and tags. I have a large collection of photos (>15.000) as I work on (semi) professional base since a number of years.
thanks to all the wizards....No the left behind photos in the subfolders were not imported in Lightroom
tx for your interest
I don't think you answered either of my questions, and thus I am not able to help further.
So, to ask again, hoping for a direct answer this time:
1. Are these "left behind" files in formats recognized by Lightroom? What are the formats of these photo files?
2. Are you saying that (other than for these 6000 files that were not converted), the metadata did not show up in Lightroom? -
I need help I want to analyze and create reports using data from my firefox history files .
I am not quite sure where to post this. I had a program for analyzing my firefox history which no longer works due to the change in how firefox stores history data. I am not an sqlite user. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I downloaded the sqlite manager addon and it is now installed on my firefox browser. I have tried it out and can make some sense of it. I would like to know how to decode the time/date storage system.It uses Unix time, which is the number of seconds that have elapsed since January 1, 1970 00:00 UTC /GMT.

Hi PowerPivot experts,
I have created more than 60 pivot tables in multiple sheets by using PowerPivot work book. now i want delivery all the pivot table in excel document to my end user by email.
I want send only the Pivot tables which i created using PowerPivot data model instead of sending the whole model file since its very heavy.
I have tried with export option in Excel 97-2003, its works fine but not getting exact pivot format which i created and its displays as value.
My aim to send pivot table that i created format but not whole file with source data.
I would be really grateful if advise me to fix it out.Hi Robert,
I don't think it is a good idea to deliver all PivotTable report to end user via E-mail, and SQL Server PowerPivot for Excel doesn't support to deliver PivotTable report to end user without PowerPivot data inside in the data model. For example, I suppose
we create a PivotTable to display the SalesAmount of US in pervious years(eg:2012, 2013, 2014), how can we dynamic show the value based on end user selection without PowerPivot data model data(The PivotTable report don't have data source)?
So, one workaround that we can create a shared folder to store all of PowerPivot report for all of end user in the domain environment, and then inform end users to copy the PowerPivot reports what they want via E-mail.
If the end users aren't in domain environment, we can implement the VPN soltion to achieve this.

How do I factory reset my Macbook Pro and then restore using my time machine back up?
Hey guys,
My Macbook Pro has slowed down & had more and more random crashed recently and a friend suggested doing a factory reset. My Macbook is about 3 1/2 years old now so it's about time I did something and this always used to work for me on PC's.
I've kept a completely up to date time machine back-up since day 1 (I'll do another immediately before the reset.) and would rather use that to restore all my files. Will I have to reinstall all my apps with this? (Thats fine if I do, it would just be nice to know first) How do I do the factory reset & how to I restore from time machine afterwards.
Many Thanks
MegaBeakerFirst obtain an external hard drive to back up to. Go to your system preferences and look under Time Machine. Select your external hard drive as your backup drive then start a full backup. Then follow these steps provided by Apple:
In the menu bar, choose Apple menu > Restart. Once your Mac restarts (and the gray screen appears), hold down the Command and R keys.
Select Disk Utility, then click Continue.
Select your startup disk on the left, then click the Erase tab.
Choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) from the Format menu, enter a name, then click Erase.Important: Erasing the disk removes all the information from the disk. Be sure to back up the information you want to keep to an external device.
After the disk is erased, choose Disk Utility > Quit Disk Utility.
Select Reinstall OS X, click Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions. -
I have a file that was created in FH 11 and I am using same version.Originator opens this file and everything is fine and also an earlier version opens it fine.When I open it it shifts the links 1/8" up and to the left.Has anybody ever had this happen to them?
What file format(s) are the "links"?
If raster images, do they contain clipping paths or transparency?
What is your platform and OS?
Were the FH documents created on the same platform (Mac or PC) as the one you are currently using?
Were the linked files created on the same platform (Mac or PC) as the one you are currently using?
Can you reproduce the problem with a newly created document and the same linked images?
There was once an issue with transparent 1-bit TIFF images shifting, but I believe that was in a previous version of FH. -

Client.jar file not being generated by weblogic 6.1
Hi,
I have developed a web service for our Internal network. I have deployed the web
service onto weblogic 6.1 and have been able to obtain the wsdl file. I have coded
my java client, but to compile and run the client, I require the client.jar file,
which weblogic should create on its own once the actual web service is successfully
deployed. wl server is not able able to create the client.jar file and hence I am
unable to run the client. Could anyone tell me why the client.jar file is not being
created and is there any workaround for coding the java client without using the
client.jar file.
Thanx
sudiptoHi Sudipto,
I'm assuming that you used the <wsgen> Ant task (in your build.xml) to create this
web service, right?
Are you sure the client.jar file isn't in the web-services.war? You can verify this
by extracting this file (web-services.war) from the .ear for your web service, and
viewing its contents with WinZip (or the jar.exe utility that comes with the JDK).
There is a way to create client code without having a client.jar (or a WSDL document),
but it takes a little more work :-) I have attached a "heavily commented" example
of this, at the bottom of this post.

Mike Wooten

CLASSPATH issues on DOS/NT and loading of jar files
Hello all,
I have the following problem on running WebLogic 5.1 on
NT. The CLASSPATH is getting truncated after a certain number of
characters. I have a lot of third party jar files that I use in my
application. How do I overcome this problem ? I tried increasing my DOS
environment space by changing the default values in config.sys.
What are other alternatives ?
One idea that I have is to use URLClassLoader to load the jar files. I
am running a RMI based application and I need to load these jar files
before I load the RMI code. Where would I run this URLClassLoader code
? Is there some system startup class that can load jar files ?
Thanks,
Aswin.Thanks for the reply. I much appreciate it. What about the other idea that I
had outlined-loading these jar files using a ClassLoader. Is that viable ?
Aswin.

You still will not be able to have a command line exceeding a certain size

Jar file and classpath problem
I0m writing a program that use the kunststoff.jar Look&Feel.
Now I would like to put all I'm writing into a jar file but I always have a NoClassFoundException when I try to start my application.
here is a MANIFEST:ME I'm using:
Manifest-Version: 1.0
Created-By: 1.4.2-beta (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
Main-Class: JListaR.JListaR
Class-Path: kunststoff.jar img\ .why this don't work?Unfortunately you can't embed jars within a jar and
expect them to be referencable for the classpath from
outside the main jar. The "Class-Path" attribute in
the manifest is used to refer to other jar files
outside of your jar file.
The usual approach to solve this problem is to unpack
the jar files you want to embed and then rejar
everything together in one big jar file again. This
isn't always a great approach though, I know I'm
looking for an alternative. So far my only alternative
is dynamic class loading using a classloader, however
this isn't great if you need to refer to several
hundreds or even thousands of classes.thank you very mach...now I understand because it dosen't work correctly!
