What is a Billing Doc?
Is it similar to Sales Order ?
If yes ,please tell me the use and procedure to create a Billing Doc.

Billing Document is a broad term which can be a credit memo, debit memo, proforma invoice based on order or based on delivery and also a regular invoice.
For example let us look at on sales cycle :
order -> delivery -> Invoice.
credit memo, debit memo are self explanatory by terms and an invoice is what you give the customer based on which he makes the payment to you.
A sales order is prepared on a Sold to party where as an invoice is done on a Bill to party. And just use T. Code <b>VF01</b> here you give the delivery document number which you want to invoice if it is delivery related billing or sales order number if it is Order related blilling.

I mean
For payment reversal of cleared invoice using FBRA

Bank Cr
And subsequently reversing invoice
Sales Dr
Customer Cr

Vf02 error while releasing a billing doc to accounting
Hello All,
I m getting the below mentioned error while releasing a billing doc for a accouting.
I have checked all the settings in vkoa , ob52 and many more and all are set properly, now m not able to track where actually the prob is.
error is: No account is specified in item 0000001004
Message no. F5670
Diagnosis
No account was specified for account type "S" in item "0000001004" of the FI/CO document.
System Response
The Financial Accounting program cannot process the document.
Procedure
A system error has probably occurred in the application you called up. Check the data transferred to item "0000001004" of the FI/CO document.

Have you checked what is the determination account determination log ? You can do this by entering in VF02 and select from the menu Environment -> Account Determination Analisys -> Revenue Accounts.
In this log you can see what are posting keys determined from the pricing procedure that should be posted in the FI document and determine very easy in which step the account was not determined.
After that you can maintain the correct account in VKOA transaction.

Dear all,
Scenario is user has created sales order for excisable finished goods ,and followed by delivery, billing and excise billing to the customer who has already received the materials (GR done).
Now by mistake instead of cancelling the some other billing doc. user has cancelled above billing doc.
How we can update this . Do we have to create new billing doc?. but excise billing doc has already gone to customer what is effect of the same in terms of excise /register

if u delete also that means it's not deleted total from the data base as ur abaper to retrieve the data from the data base table he will do it for u .

Dear Friends,
We are facing a major issue which is as follows:
A bill doc was cancelled. The doc flow of the original billing doc shows:
Delivery (Archived)-> Sale Invoice (Completed)-> A/cing doc (Not Cleared)
The cancelled doc is not coming in the above doc flow. What can be the reason that cancelled doc is not coming in the doc flow?
On the other hand the doc flow of the Cancelled doc shows:
Delivery (Same as above) (Status Archived)->Cancel Inv (S1) Status- Missing export data. (Transaction is domestic). Here also the original bill doc is not coming in the doc flow of S1. However the original doc is coming in the Assignment field in the header of S1. Again what can be the reason? We also want to clear the A/cing doc of the original Billing document. How is this possible?
Is there any T.Code for displaying J1ID?

Thank you very much.Go to VA03, key in the sale order reference and check the document flow. Let me know whether you could see the original billing document that was cancelled. If not, check in copy control whether you have ticked the box "Update document flow".

What do you mean by this ?? J1ID itself is a standard TCode.

Hi Experts,
I just need to clarify my understanding for the following about what system does when billing doc is created:
1. DR posting on customer's Receivables Account : this account means the receivable account of the company that records which customer owes how much money to the company. Why the account is referred to as "Customer's " ? is it not belonging to the company with the SAP system?
2. CR posting on the Revenue account : this account means the company's account that records gross earnings.
This pair of postings have to happen together and not either one can be posted only right?

Yes your understanding is correct. Both should be posted at one go while creating invoice. Regarding your queries about customer account posting I will try to explain.
While creating invoice and transferring to accounting in the accounting document the debit line item is against the customer. This is based on the principle "Debit the receiver". In this case the goods are received by the customer and hence his account is debited. But as you rightly mentioned this should be referred to as the company's receivable account and this happens by assigning the customer account to a reconcilation account in the customer master- company code view. You can check the account against which it is posted by going to FD03 and putting the customer and company code. The recon account would be dispalyed. So the customer is further linked to this recon account and when a GL entry is passed while posting an invoice this recon account gets impacted.

Billing doc error due t copa standard quantity
Hi I am facing an issue .this is regarding the error while releaseing a billing doc the errortranslating the quantity to the COPA standard quatity.
in material master i checked the unit of measure is SET and in copa KEA6 VVAUM( Alt Uom)
Error translating the quantity to the CO-PA standard quantity
Message no. K/832
Diagnosis
Customizing in Profitability Analysis CO-PA allows a standard quantity field to be updated.
An error has occurred in the present document while the standard quantity field "VVAUM" was being supplied.
The base unit of measure "SET" could not be translated into the standard unit of measure "M3" for the material "B/CAL/PROJECT5".
System Response
It is not possible to process the document again.
Procedure
1. If required, maintain the unit of measure "M3" as an alternative unit of measure in the material master for the material "B/CAL/PROJECT5".
2. In certain cases, you should check whether derivation of the unit of measure for the CO-PA standard quantity field "VVAUM" needs to be changed in Customizing for CO-PA characteristic derivation

In MM02 - Maintain conversion of SET to M3
In KE4MS - Maintain M3 as the Standard Unit of Measure

Billing doc is not getting saved.
Hi All,
I am doing billing with ref to Delivery in VF01. Billing doc is processed but when I click on save button to create document..its not saving and redirecting to initial billing overview screen.
I assume this is some system setup issue and needs to be looked by Basis. Is this Basis issue or an SD Consultant can solve this one.
what needs to be setup properly to resolve this one.

During invoice creation, please sit with a technical guy and debug the process. In 10minutes you should be able to find out hte actual problem, as there can be many reasons why the invoice creation is coming back to VF01 screen.
My hunch goes to Number ranges. The number range can be completely exhausted and because of this, it is not able to assign a number to the newly created document. If you debug it, you should be able to find out the correct reason. -
Billing doc referenced by delivery document

there is a problem in my scenario that billing doc are created automatically when creating shipment doc that is collective shipment doc type. in stead of this process, ı have not faced on this stuation when i creating it by using individual shippment doc type. I need your help on this issue that why it creates automatically billing doc at the time of creation shipment doc by using collective shipment doc type what is the difference between those doc. types? how can configure them to create billing doc manually?

If you are using Collective shipment document and if the billing document is getting created automatically, then, there is a fair chance that a profile (to create automatic billing document) has been assigned to the shipment document type.
Check SPRO > Logistics Execution > Transportation > Shipments > Define and Assign Activity Profile and remove the profile (if present) for the collective shipment document type (If you desire to)....

If this is your case, please check the customizing for your allowable

i am trying to create a billing doc to delivery related SO.
i have the outbound delivery completed and now trying to create a billing doc but it says it has been fully invoiced even when we dont have any billing doc for it. the document flow as well doesnt show any invoice.
what might be the problem?

There could be number of reasons:
1. You do not have sufficient integration in VKOA
2. Accounting periods are being closed.
3. The Customer account has been blocked.
4. There may be a pricing error.
5. User do not have sufficient authorization to post an accounting document.
VFX3 should solve your problem. You release the documents to accounting, if there are errors check for log. Check the forum with search VFX3 for further help.

Billing Doc from a Contract with WBS, how to ??

I need to make a billing doc from a rental contract MV against a WBS Element, i cant see the field on the position of the contract.
Can you tell me if there is a way to make this field visible for the position of the contract?
or what changes do i have to do in the copy control from the contract to the billing doc so it can take the WBS from the header or the contract to the position in the billing doc.Wow, can't believe I didn't see that - I looked in all the "International" sections, just not in the "Phone" section. Duh. Tried calling and it working (flashes an "international" warning while dialing).
The curious thing is that this was already enabled. I'd tried texting someone else who was in India with me and he never received it, so I assumed I wasn't dialing correctly. Perhaps the problem is only with texting, or only with my friend's phone. In any case, if the problem reappears, this gets me closer to troubleshooting it.

Billing Doc with over 200 item lines, wont post to FI
Hi there i have a F2 billing doc with 209 lines on it, this will not post to FI as it is trying to post over 999 lines into FI, has anyone overcome this issue if so how did you do it?
If not what are my options, i have customers who want monthly bills but this bill i have created is only for 2 weeks worth.
Is there away of having multile FI docs again one billing doc?
