I think maybe if you split it into two luns, you can
stitch them back together with svm.
But even thats not certain.Depends on what you're going to do with the device at that point. UFS on Solaris also does not support volumes 1TB or larger. So you'd have to use it as a raw slice space or a filesystem that did support larger sizes.
You need later versions of Solaris 9 to get mutli-terabyte UFS support. (a separate issue from multi-terabyte LUN support).

  • How do define the limit of the max heap size?

    Hi All,
I would like to know what should be the limit of the JVM max heap size.
What will happen if we will not define it?
What is the purpose of defining it from the technical point of view?
    Thanks
    Edited by: Anna78 on Jul 31, 2008 12:36 PM

Defining a max heap space too large can have the following effect:
If you create new objects, the VM may decide it is not worth getting rid of garbage-collectable ones, as there
is still plenty of space between the current heap size and the max allowed. The result will be that the
application will run faster and will consume more memory than it really needs.
If the heap size is too small, but still sufficient, the application will do a lot of garbage-collection and therefore
run slower. On the other hand, it will stay inside the tight space it has been allowed to use.
The speed difference may or may not be noticeable, while the difference between 256M and 512M may
or may not matter on today's computers.

  • In Keynote '09 distribute objects horizontally/vertically is distributing objects beyond the slide. How do I make the left-most and right-most objects the limit of the distribution?

I used to have the option of distributing objects so that they would overlap, but the current "distribute" tool is functioning as if overlapping isn't allowed. The result is that the objects move beyond the limits of the slide. Any suggestions?

I know that's what *should* happen, but it just doesn't. I've made screen-grabs of the entire process:
Like I said, this use to work just as you've described it. Is there a box I accidentally selected? I just really don't understand why the tool has changed the way it functions...

  • How to set the limit for the warning 'running out of disk space'

I am wondering if there's a way to set the number of GB before I get the system warning 'running out of disk space'.
I saw this question asked in 2010 and it did not get an answer. It was archived so I am asking again. I know how to monitor the available space on my startup disk, and how to empty the trash to clear up disk space. I am looking for an OS X setting that I can change.

My guess is that you want to lower the limit. IMHO I think the limit is alreay too low.
If you are seeing this warning regularly then your disk is severely overfull and needs to be replaced with a larger one.
Running the free space low eenough to get the warning greatly increases the chances for disk corruption. Once the disk gets corrupted then then next thing that happens is data lose.
You have a serious problem with your Mac that should be dealt with immediately.
Backing your data up would also be a good idea if you are not already doing that.

  • UIX has problem with the limit on the length of url in Internet Explorer

I have a UIX page with 4 tabs. The number of textbox and dropdown list is large in each tab. When I do a form submit, all the properties' name (textbox and dropdown list) and it's value are submitted automatically by UIX as part of the url string.
The problem is, the limitation of the url string will make my submit action failed when the url string is too long. Netscape seems dont have this limitation of url string but just too bad that our main browser will be IE.
Moreover, for my login page, when I press the submit button to login, the password is submitted as a url string also, which reveal the user's password!!
Could I turn off the auto submition of those properties & value in my page as part of the url string? Because I can use binding control to get and set their value, there is no need to submit everything.
Does anyone knows how to solve this problem? Thanks!

Try setting method="POST" on your <form>.

  • What is the limit to the number of Albums in iPhoto '11?

Anybody know how many albums you can define?

One caveat to the number of albums per library:  I've run into problems ordering the albums as displayed in my iPhone photos app when the album number reached some point that I'm not sure of:  there doesn't seem to be a way to count the albums, rather than manually.  Somewhere over 100 albums but less than 150, the sync got wonky:  all the 9000 images sync properly, and all the albums, but they won't show up in the order I set up on the computer when viewed on the phone--which makes finding the most recent albums to show people a little tricky.
I have a related question:  any idea how to tell how many albums there are in a library, besides counting them manually?

  • What is the limit on the number of RMI clients

I've been searching for this number, and all I get are articles from 1999. Anyone know?
This will be running on a 2 GHz Pentium with a gig of memory.

There is no explicit limit: it all depends on how many sockets, threads, thread stacks &c your computer can handle, and how much memory it has.

  • HT203254 Why is four years the limit for the repair to be covered?

The video card in my Jan 08 MacBook Pro suddenly went out and I believe it is one of these faulty units but it has been 4 years and 3 months since I bought it. So now, according to the Genius, I have to pay to get it fixed BUT I get a discounted rate (300 instead of 600) because I've kept my computer is such good shape over the years. How is this fare? If it is a defective unit shouldn't Apple replace all of them no matter how long it takes them to fail?

Apple isn't paying for the replacement, nVidia is. You have gotten four years out of it and are getting it fixed at a discounted rate.

  • What is the pupose of the Enable Document Cache option?

    Hey All,
What is the Enable Document Cache option in the Reports Properties - General Settings? What are the benefits of this option? Documentation is lean on this one.
    Thanks,
    Ron

    >I miss information of optimal setting for the cache. What is the ideal size and what is that setting depended on? Memory size? Raw file size?
The default size is 1GB, but it can be set much higher. When the number of previews held in the cache reaches the limit of the cache size older previews get dropped. This is the reason given for making the cache large. However, the problem with this approach is that the ACR cache preview is in addition to to the Lr preview created for the Library module. So, a larger cache will mean that even more disk space is used storing duplicate previews. If you're using a slower computer and are in the habit of quickly scanning through large number of files in the Develop module then a larger cache "might" help, otherwise anywhere between one and five GB should be more than adequate.

  • Batch input: how to fill in more rows than the ones for the screen's size.

    Hi everybody,
I am working on a batch input for transaction ME38.
When, through my abap code, I am filling in the second screen's table, the system stops, telling me there is no field "43" on the screen.
Here is a summary of the batch input:
    EKET-MENGE(1)               66,000
    RM06E-EEIND(1)     30.06.2009
    EKET-MENGE(31)               66,000
    RM06E-EEIND(31)     30.06.2009
    EKET-MENGE(43)               66,000
    RM06E-EEIND(43)     30.06.2009
In fact, my screen has 31 lines, but 43 entries must be filled.
I can program a logic to go to the next screen when entry 31 has been filled, but how to know what is the screen limit?
Because my program will not always be started by me, and will, most probably, be started in background jobs...
Do you see a way to process that can help me?
Is there a way to not be "screen size dependant"?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Rudy

    Hi...
This issue can be resolved by creating a recording in SHDB transaction for 43 records and press add more rows button evytime you do that..
As the rows will be added to the table during runtime you need not worry about the limit of the table entries.. and it will work fine..
    Hope this helps

  • Limit on the number of characters of the Input file of Input Agent

    HI
I am working on the Input Agent of one of my IPM applicaton. I just want to know what would be the limit on the number of characters in the input file of input agent. That means that what should be the total count limit of the characters of the Input file of the Input Agent, so that IPM Efficiently process the Input file.

Thank you t quinn for your reply as I do really appreciate the help.
I don't quite understand what your suggestion was and before I try to figure it out and play around with numbers, I thought I should clarify further. When i wrote I want to paste the content into the cell and have it limited to 100 characters I was mis-spoken. I actually have all the content already in the columns in a spreadsheet and would now like to just limit some of the columns to hold only 100 characters in a cell so that when its a CSV file it will be accepted to the program I'm trying to upload it to.
SO does that change the way you can answer my question?
Is there a way to just limit the content currently in a spreadsheet to 100 characters per cell?
    Kindly

  • Scan rate exceed the limit?

the program runs good when we use 600000hz as scan rate, but it gives error when we use 700000 hz as scan rate, saying that the scan rate exceed the hardware limit. but the manual of the hardware(DAQ board), gives 1250000 hz as the upper limit of scan rate.what is the possible true reason for this error?

When entering the scan rate, you have to take into account how many channels you are scanning to determine the sampling rate. For instance, when scanning 3 channels at 700000 Hz, you are scanning through all 3 channels at 700000 Hz and so you're trying to make the board sample at 700000*3 Hz (2100000 Hz). This exceeds the limit of the hardware.
Even at 600000 Hz (sample rate of 600000*3 = 1800000 Hz) you are above the maximum sampling rate. 1250000 is specified maximum sampling rate but sometimes you can acquire above the maximum rate. I hope this helps.
