When the beta is over and my iTunes cloud library is deleted, what happens to my local copy of the library?
i would REALLY hate to lose my library...........really. lots of ratings/playlists i never want to lose.
I would have thought this unlikely: but really it's no good asking about the iCloud beta here: in order to access it you've signed on as a developer and signed an NDA, and no-one on here is in a position to answer questions about it. You need to ask in the Developer forum.

I have tons of music on itunes , but everytime i try to select it says "the original file cannot be found, would you like to try and locate it" i have no idea what happened to all of my music any tips? i have a dell windows vista.. thanks !
Basically, the computer thinks the music is 'lost'. Follow the prompts and try to locate it. It should navigate to the files and redraw the links which should make that pop up go away

My email account blocks the verify now hyperlink when I try to click and open to verify my apple ID. I have tried to copy and paste in the browser window, but that doesn't work either.
Have you tried accessing the email from another computer, device, email client or web browser?

These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Use the steps to troubleshoot security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

You should ALWAYS make sure that everything is on your computer and backed up, most especially before any update. The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly.

I found My iPhone contacts on my friends Iphone we both have 4s! But we use the same apple ID and ICloud ID! How can undo what happened? all my private stuff is now on his phone!!! help me plz!!?
Of course if you are both connected to the same iCloud account you have the same contacts - what did you expect?. The contacts live on the server and are read from there by the devices; so as you've both managed to sync your contacts up to iCloud they are now inextricably mixed. You can only delete your contacts by deleting individual ones, and doing that will delete them from your phone as well.
You can only unravel this by
1. In the iCloud contacts page at http://icloud.com, select all the contacts, click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.
2. Sign out of System Preferences>iCloud
3. Create a new Apple ID and open a new iCloud account with it for your own use.
4. Import the vCard back into the iCloud contacts page.
5. Go to http://icloud.com and sign in with the original ID. This is now his ID. Work through the contacts individually deleting the ones you don't want him to have. When done sign out and advise him to change his password.
6. Go to the new iCloud account and delete his contacts individually.
Of course if you have also been syncing calendars and using the same email address there are problems with doing this. -

You can try installing 7-Zip (free), then right-click on the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file to unpack its contents, and install AppleApplicationSupport.msi as a standalone component. It may still not install successfully, but if it doesn't you may get a more useful error message regarding the reason why.

My iTunes Cloud Library has vanished. Yesterday I installed McAfee virus checker (just in case) - could this be something to do with it? But it found no viruses etc and didn't delete or move any files - or didn't tell me it had anyway.
Foolishly I only have a cloud copy (to save space on my congested Mac)

Go to "View" in the iTunes menu bar, and see if there is an option to "Show Music in the Cloud."
Press Command + , (comma) to bring up the iTunes preferences, or go to "File" in the iTunes menu bar and then down to Preferences. Here, go to "Store" and make sure that "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" is checked. -

Everything disappeared from my Itunes on my PC. No playlists and no music. Have carbonite and they could only find in the files 3.3G and I ahd over 7 G in there.
What happened and how do I get it back? Also if I attached my I pod will I lose the music that is in there and not in I tunes?
Would going to system prestore help?
