When using spotlight search on my 5s it will not show past text messages that haven't even been deleted even if I type a specific word that I know is in a message I want to search for. I have message search turned on in the spotlight settings.

When using spotlight search my phone will not show all text messages with a common word even though I have not deleted any messages from my phone and I have the message search turned on in settings under spotlight search. The search only shows the messages that are recent within the past day or so. Why won't it show the other messages when I search for them even using a specific word that I know was in the message I'm searching for.

It sounds like you are not getting notifications for new text messages that are coming in, and you must manually check the app. I recommend checking the Notification settings to see if they are configured correctly:

Sounds: An audible alert plays.
Alerts/Banners: An alert or banner appears on the screen.
Badges: An image or number appears on the application icon.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
According to a previous Support Communities thread marked as solved, green phone numbers are numbers not registered with iMessage, and would thus be SMS only. Since you're using an iPod touch, it does not have SMS capability, and therefore cannot send a message to that number.

Contact pictures not showing in text-messages section of HUB

I noticed a bug/mistake in the text-messages section in the hub.
When you are writing text message, contact pictures in the top left corner are showing only
for some contacts.
I don't know whats the reason for this.
Does anybody have this issue also - or does anybody know a solution?

Thanks for your feedback, do these contacts have pictures saved in the contacts profile? Or is the contacts picture linked from a social media account for example Twitter or Facebook?

I have 4s iphone and it will not always send text message

My 4s will not send text message. Sometimes it works fine then others it goes about 2/3rds the way on bar then stops. It may send much later.

Try resetting the network settings, Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.

I use a IP.board hosted forum, and for some reason the editor tool icons will not show of Firefox. I haven't had this problem until about 2 days ago.

I have been regularly using an IP.board hosted forum on Mozilla and it has been working fine until as of 2 days ago I suddenly unable to see the post editor icons.
I looked and found a similar problem as addressed here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/971904
unfortunately, that remedy given there did no work for me.

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
If you see little boxes that show the hex code of the characters then those missing icons are actually supplied by a font that is downloaded from the server (@font-face)
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
You can check the <b>gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page and make sure that it is set to true (if necessary double-click the line to toggle its value).

Photo will not attach to text message

I have an iPhone 5s and iOS 8.1.
Ever since I've had the phone (it's been 3 months), I have not been able to text a photo from the photo app. I go to the app, then albums, pick a photo, hit the box with the arrow (gives me several options to share: message, email, iCloud, etc). I choose message and a new message pops up empty, no photo attached.
I have all the appropriate messaging options enable (iMessage, MMS). This was happening before I updated to 8.1. I have not updated to 8.1.2 but did check what the update covered just in case.
I've searched the forums and Googled this, any one else have this issue? I must be missing something.

I tried to update Itunes on my desktop computer and for some reason it did not work properly. I am receiving the following message:

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

IMessages on Mavericks will send and receive but will not show my sent messages

So last week I was on ML and signed into iMessages app. I was able to log in and it showed my number and email and everyone's iMessage indicator worked fine. The issue was that I couldn't send any messages out. After typing my message to someone and pressing enter it would dissapear and they would never get the messages. So after hours of browsing I just figured maybe going to Mavericks would help solve the issue. Upgraded and logged into iMessages and to my dismay, it now will send the messages and receive messages and will sync with my iphone but I still can NOT see the messages I send out. After pressing enter they disappear. I've pretty much given up but hope someone in the community will help. I'm pretty bright with Mac and tried a PRAM reset, I've enabled and disabled, logged in and out, shutdown and restart, went into library and erased preferences, but nothing. My whole day is behind a computer and I love iMessages... When it works lol. Plz help. Thank you. I'll assume Ralph will take a gander since he is the pro on here from what I saw. Thanks everyone.

Reset network settings in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.
Sometimes something hinky goes on with the cell coverage, and that's one way to try to fix it.

You need to keep the keys pressed for several seconds. Close down Elements. Hold down the CtrlShiftAlt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or hold down the keys whilst clicking on the desktop icon for the Editor or PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Programs folder. Keep holding down all three keys until you get the settings option. You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?Click on YesThen wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences. BCC will not show recipients in Mail app - for IMAP client user

Our office iMac was just upgraded to Mavericks. The Apple mail app (which we use via IMAP to receive our gmail) will not show BCC recipients on sent mail. Not sure what other info you might need.
Yes it did work prior to Mavericks upgrade --lots of other quirks that are just user preference issues but this is by far a concern because we need to keep track of school sent emails. So far the only solution has been to use the gmail client via web interface -- hoping there is a different solution!

When we send the email we (our user end) can see the recipients in the BCC field (good)
When the email is delivered they (the recipient) cannot see all the other emails (good)
"Susie" (who was on our original BCC list as a recipient) calls and says I did not get the email - We go to our sent folder and click on the sent email to verify the email address we used but (and here's the issue) it says "No recipients"
Prior to installing OSX Mavericks -- it listed ALL the recipients in our sent folder copy of the email (this was very helpful to us)
To date the ONLY solution has been to use the web version of gmail -- My question is (and please know I have done a number of checks on this process) Why did it work BEFORE upgrading to Mavericks and why does it not work NOW? Our school secretary is convinced it is "my fault" for upgrading the system -- I am convinced there is a user error since she NEVER lists anyone in the TO field
She will NOT use the web interface because it takes "too much time" -- for this my response is -- then fix it yourself! (Sorry 10 days left of school -- tech coordinator frustration creeping in -- tired of id10t erros -- should have waited to upgrade until no one was around and NOT tell them!)

My bookmarks toolbar in Firefox 10.0.2 Mac OSX 10.6.8 suddenly disappeared. View>Toolbars>Bookmarks Toolbar is checked. Dragging URL's to the bookmarks toolbar area no longer works. The gray area appears and disappears when checking/unchecking under View/Toolbars menu, but will not show any or accept addition of bookmarks.

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
*Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
*Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar

When using Google search engine in the address line search bar the error is present
When changing to Yahoo, bing or another search engine in the search bar, the error is not present

Have tried to delete the files cert8.db and key3.db with no success
Read about firewall settings, but Bullguard firewall was not covered

In your "More system details" it says your address bar search provider is Babylon, not Google. Perhaps that's the problem? Or are you using a shortcut to force the address bar search to Google?

That might not stick if you have an add-on which reverts the setting. You can disable nonessential and unrecognized extensions here:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category

1. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds
