Where is my line connected ??

Hi folks,
I am posting this again as it appears not to have gone live on the forums. I am getting conflicting information when I ask this question. Is my line connected to the Headford exchange or to the HRD1_002 cabinet ?
One person in sales have told me that I am connected to the exchange while other say they cannot tell. Here is a part transcript
"BXXXX: thanks for holding Damien, I have checked your address and as yet efibre is not enabled , there , you are connected to exchange Headford , I am checking exchange now for update"
I can send you the full script if you need.
Also I have recently seen some post here where you have confirmed the connected cabinet etc.
I have PM'd EircomAlan on this as he seemed to answer the above posts I have read. Can I find this answer out please.
Thanks for your time.
Damien

Hi IrishOmen
Your line is connected to the cabinet number "HRD1_002"
Cheers

    Hi,
Based on the following specs, it does NOT have both modem port & wireless, it ONLY has LAN port:
        http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c03954512
If you wish to have a modem port there are few options:
    (a) Install a PCI modem card on your computer, it has few free slots in there. The following link shows few examples:
          http://www.ebay.com.au/bhp/pci-modem
    (b) USing USB modem dapter, similar to the following example:

  • Where is the database connection for a mobile site?

I have a Flash mobile site that I didn't create, but need to edit. On clicking the submit button it checks that the login & password are in a SQL database. The problem is, I can't find the method that runs a query on the database or where the database is even connected. I've tried searching through the code for words like "SQL", "database", and "connection" without success. I stepped through the code where I find a call to method "super", but then it goes back to the original method and then the user is logged in. Can someone explain where the call to the database is?
Other things I'd like to know are: Where is the SQL Connection? In the main (non-mobile site), there is a web.config with a line that says
    <add name="TPConnectionString1"  connectionString="DataSource=xxx.xx.xxx.xx,xxxx\sqlexpress;Initial Catalog=TP;Persist Security  Info=True;User ID=xxxxx" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>
Where (what file: ex. web.config, xyz.as, etc.) would a similar line in the mobile code be?
What does super(type, bubbles, cancelable) do?
Here's the method for the submit button: LoginView.mxml
            private function btnclicked():void{  techController.username = txtUsername.text;  techController.password = txtPassword.text;  var evt:TechEvent = new TechEvent(TechEvent.LOGIN_USER);  this.dispatchEvent(evt);  }
Here's the TechEvent function that is called: TechEvent.as
        public function TechEvent(type: String, bubbles:Boolean=true, cancelable:Boolean=false)  {  super(type, bubbles, cancelable);  }
    Here's the dispatchEvent method: UIComponent.as
    override public function dispatchEvent(event:Event):Boolean  {  if (dispatchEventHook != null)  dispatchEventHook(event, this);    return super.dispatchEvent(event);  }

You are looking for an event handler for the TechEvent.LOGIN_USER event.
Coding style looks similar to a SWIZ style framework, in which case, the event handlers could be defined using metadata [EventHandler] or [Mediate] tags, but could just be a plain simple .addEventListener(TectEvent.LOGIN_USER,fn); declaration earlier on.
Either way, this is what has happened:
    1. User enters uname and password, then clicks button
    2. Button click handler populates the techController with relevant values then dispatches an event to let the world know it has done so
    3. The event handler checks the techController and makes the login call
    4. Some time later, the server will respond and trigger another event that the app can respond to

  • 3D Line Graph.vi not displaying line connecting data points.

I'm having trouble getting 3D Line Graph.vi to display the line connecting my data points.  I'm collecting latitude, longitude, and depth data from a binary file, loading this data into arrays with a while loop, and sending those arrays to 3D Line Graph.vi.  When I tried doing it with arrays created by random number generators, the line is displayed, but when I use it with my actual data, no lines are displayed.  I can only see where the data points are when rotating the 3D graph.  Any ideas on this would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Karunya,
Thanks for the info on the 3-D Curve VI.  I tried it and it works.  I think I was able to find the problem with 3D Line Graph.vi.  It has something to do with plotting very close points away from the origin and scaling the axes to view the line.  I have attached an example of where the vi breaks down.  In this example, you can see that part of the line is drawn, but when you rotate the graph, you can see that the line is not drawn through all of the points.  If you change the scale of the axes, then you eventually get the line to go through all of the points, but then the graph is not very "readable" at that point.  It's when you try to zoom in really close to the plotted points.
    Thanks!

I need to draw one dashed line connecting two bars ..

Pls guide me how shd I achieve this ...
    Thanks

    Morning Art,
I hope you had a good weekend.
Yes! I know what you mean because I have the same issue. If for example there is one record out of 10 records, the chart fills the whole width of the page with blue rectangle within the chart, and showing 1 on the x-axis (one big blob of blue colour within a chart).
It looks very bad though I didn't find any solution to the problem either. however if I do, I will let you know.

Hi, do you mean a real Dial-up Modem as in the old days?
As I recall, the Apple USB Modem won't work in 64 bit OSes, but there are others that will, I think this is one of them...

  • HT5569 My i-touch keeps searching for a wi-fi network where it use to connect and all my other apple devices still connect. I have reset, reload, off and on and off and on....what else could I try?

My ipod touch just keeps searching for a wi-fi connection in my house where it use to connect automatically. My other apple devices still are connecting so not the wi-fi. I have reset to original settings, turned off-on-off-on... nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. (I think you did this)
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Wear and tear around where the screen is connected to the body

I have a mac book pro,, and recently I noticed some wear and tear in the area where the screen is connected to the body,, represented by discoloration in the material on both sides at the exact location where the screen plastic connects inside the almunim body. I was wondering whether I should be worried,, and if it is something to worry about would my appeal care cover it?

If it is just at the bottom of the screen surround on the rubber part, I would not be concerend. You can remove it with a damp Qtip, turn your MBP off and be gentle and you can get the dirt off.  If you have concerns, take to Apple you have Applecare.

  • Reproducing NotePad++ lines connecting start & end tags

I love the ability in NotePad++ to see the start & end tag of blocks all the time via faint vertical lines connecting them (without having to click on a tag as you do in CC).  This is achieved in NotePad++ via their indent guides (Top menu View>Show Symbol>Show Indent Guide. The DW CC tag matching isn't half as good as this always visible feature in NotePad++ .
Is there any way to reproduce the feature in Dreamweaver CS6 &/or CC (I'm using both versions of DW)?  Any extensions that could do this perhas?
    Thanks!

I don't know of any extensions for this.  Why don't you post this in the Ideas section of this forum?  If enough people vote for it, Adobe might add it to a future release.  Go to Actions > Create an Idea.

I know. I actually passed an OpenReach van 500 meteres from my house today. Stopped and asked if there was any way, at all, the guy could help me out or check on the status of the BT marked manhole cover outside my house (<1 min away). Was told 'Sorry, not my job, can't help you, I'm here to sort out another property and I'm lost'. I said I fully appreciated he had other work, but was there any chance he could take just 5 mins to help me out. I was told 'no way, not my area, sorry'. Said that OpenReach would need to commission a 'survey' of my property to sort this out. Frankly, he couldn't get out of there quick enough.
Sad thing is, my neighbour had an Engineer out (as I was promised by BT) and it was all sorted in a few minutes and was simply activating a connection in the exchange box (or whatever it is) outside my house.
Crazy thing, is they will just end up sending another OpenReach van out to sort this out. At some point. Maybe.
As you say . . . OpenReach just do what they want. I don't blame this guy specifically, but it would be nice if he took a second out to help everyone out.
BT call centre, meanwhile, just helplessly say that they can't tell me any more for 36 hours.

  • Trouble getting my phone line connected

    My saga to date....
I contacted BT on 20th April to advise them that I was moving home on 29th April (to a newly built house).  An engineer was arranged to come to my home on 10th May to carry out the connection.  Prior to the 10th May, I had a visit from an engineer to assess the job.  My house has been built in an older part of a village which still relies on telephone poles and lines going from the poles in to houses.  During one of these visits, it was noted that I would need a pole placed in my garden to connect the line to, then the line would be connected from there.  The reason behind this was due to the fact that my house is built low down, and to take a wire straight from the main pole would make it slope too low.  I was quite happy with the solution put forward, and was happy that things seemed to be in hand.  At no point was I told that the work would not go ahead on the 10th May.
This is when the problems start.......
I feel that I am living in the dark ages again.  I have no phone line, hence no Internet access and do not get a mobile signal in the area I now live in!  I rely on travelling to my daughters' house to use their phone and Internet access, which is not convenient.
The 10th of May came and went, and nobody appeared at the house, and I received no communication that work would not be carried out on this date.  I phoned BT, and yes, I was talking to a call centre in India.  When the operator finally grasped the issue that the engineer had not appeared she checked with her suppliers to inform me that there was a problem and that this would be assessed by the 14th May.  BT would then advise me on the 15th what the next stage would be.  Unhappy with this, I was eventually put through to the supervisor (waited 40 minutes on hold!).  Got no joy from him, but the promise he would personally contact me on 15th.  I had to accept this and hung up.
On Monday 13th May, I went online to check the progress of my order, only to note that my latest BT bill was ready.  When I checked the bill, I noted that BT had started to bill me for my phone and broadband package from 10th May!.  Blood pressure steadily rising, I contacted BTs billing department, yes once again an Indian call centre, to complain.  Got the standard script from the operator - very sorry etc. During this conversation, it was realised that BT had the wrong postcode in for my house (it was the correct street, but the post code for odd numbered houses). The operator, against my pleas not to do so, cancelled my order, and set up a new order for the correct postcode. She assured me that she knew what she was doing and not to worry, everything would be fine (I had explained the saga to date to her).  She set up a brand new account, allocating a different phone number, and requiring me to set up new direct debits - I'm not sure how she couldn't just change the postcode for my original account.  A new connection appointment was for 21st May, and I was assured that there would be no problems I would be connected on this date.
The 15th of May came and went, and no phone call from the Indian call centre manager.  I did not call back at this time, as a new appointment had been scheduled.
The 21st came, and an engineer did appear - hooray! He looked at the house and told me - I cannot do your connection.  A pole is needed to run a the line to.  He was able to tell me that my number had been set up in the exchange.  I was more than a little angry and frustrated at this point.  BT knew that a pole was required back on 6th May - why had this information not been dealt with!
Again I phoned BT, back to the Indian call centre.  Explained the whole saga.  He checked with his 'suppliers' to find out what was going on.  Came back to tell me that further information would be available the next day.  I was getting a little annoyed at the point.  I explained that the work required was to erect a pole in my garden to run the line to.  All I wanted was a date for when this work would be carried out.  He could not give me this info saying his suppliers would not give this until the next day.  I asked who the suppliers were - BT Open Reach, but he would not let me speak to them directly.  He promised to phone me back the following day with the update - probably to get me off the phone.   I again explained that I had no means to which he could contact me in my own home, and would require to go to my daughters house to receive the call.  He agreed to phone me back at 10am on 22nd May - a time when I would go to my daughters.  Yes, once again they failed to phone back!!
I again phoned back - yes back to India I went.  Asked to speak with the manager - but the operator would not connect me saying he could help.  Went through the saga once more - again got the text book apologies (which are getting rather annoying now).  He contacted the 'suppliers' and promised that contact would be made with me within 24hours by the engineer with regards to the work being carried out.  I told him that I had been lied to on so many occasions that I didn't believe that this was the case and asked to speak to BT Openreach to confirm this.  He stated that this could not be done.  Trust him, why would he lie to me  - which I told him would be to get me off the phone.  I left my daughters phone number as a contact.
24hours has now passed, and yes - once again no contact.  I cannot face talking to another operator in an Indian call centre who will tell me anything to get off the phone.  BT's complaints procedure is pathetic.  I feel totally helpless in this.  There doesn't seem to be any communication between anyone in the company.  The call centre staff are telling you anything just to get rid of you.  I suspect that I am now being billed on 2 accounts for a service I don't have, and no doubt will be another saga when I eventually get a working phone line.
I am no further forward to when this work will be getting carried out, and getting more and more frustrated.  Is there any suggestions on where / who I can go to.
