Whilst trying to restore my computer is asking for a password to an email address with my surname in it but not made by me?

I Tried updating my iPhone 4 to ios7. Have been trying for 7 hours to no avail. It comes up with an apple and grey bar however no download is appearing on the bar. My laptop is now asking for a password to an email address unrecognizable to me? When I cancel out it displays error number 4005. I have installed up to date iTunes, restarted etc etc. am starting to go mad!

That sounds like a lock PIN put on via Icloud - can you log into iCloud and unlock it?

Don't know anything about McAffe Enterprise Server, but if your employer is preventing you from using iCloud backup there's really no way to use it without removing this from your phone. Unless you can convince the IT guys to make an exception.

TS4036 I have am trying to back up my Ipad from iCloud , my account name is ******** but when I get to restore the backup it asks for the password for********** has anyone had a similar problem?

I am trying to restore my Ipad 2 from iCloud but at a certain point I am asked for the password for ******** even though the account I am trying to restore is ********. Could the purchase have been made using a different Apple account? If so, you may need to contact Apple to find out how to transfer it to the iPad's account.

Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten password:

After downloading updates and automatically restarting my computer, it asks for a password and says I can use my apple ID but then will not accept my apple ID which I have verified on my ipad

When I got the message that there were updates, I accepted them and then my computer restarted automatically. Next it asked for a password which I gave but that was not accepted. I got a message that I could use my apple ID so I did that. It also was not accepted. I verified that I had the correct apple ID on my iPad. Still can not get my Mac book pro running. Reset Password
Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
Wait until OS X Utilities window shows up.
Move the mouse pointer to the menubar at the top and click "Utilities", then select "Terminal"
from the drop down.
Terminal window will appear.
Type in resetpassword and press enter on the keyboard.
Leave the Terminal window open.
Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
Select the user account from the popup menu box under “Select user account”.
Enter a new password.
Reenter the new password for the user.
Enter a hint.
Click the "Save" button.
Click  in the menubar and select Restart.
Log in.

While restoring an iPad iTunes asks for the password - which does it want; iTunes password or the one used to unlock the iPad normally?

I was having issues with my iPad so decided to do a complete wipe and restore. The wipe went fine, but when I asked iTunes to do the restore it asks, "Enter the password to unlock your iPad backup"
I tried firstly entering the password I used to lock the iPad previously. That did not work
I then tried the iTune password. That did not work either.
Can it be there is another password for the back up of which I am unaware?
Is there a way to unlock the backup and restore it to the iPad? Can the password be reset somehow?
What is the point of a backup that you cannot restore?

So, why is it not the passcode used to lock the iPad? And why is the prompt not a little more specific, "Use the unique passcode for unlocking encrypted backups" might have been more helpful. As it was I tried, in my desperation, to use not only a) the passcode with which I locked my iPad, but also b) my Apple ID password (also, I would have thought a reasonable option), c) my usual "master/default password" and d) the PREVIOUS password for the iPad... It was having none of it.
Curiously, having rebooted iTunes it now is performing a sync with the iPad (it did not even give me the option to do a restore) and this is even more confusing since the iTune screen shows the usage (25 GB free) along the bottom to be the same as my iPad BEFORE the wipe, but the pull down graphic (under the devices pull down menu) show 100% unused...
To be honest this takes me round in a circle, since my original problem was iTunes saying I had 25Gb free, but the pull down graphic displaying almost 100% full and the system saying it could not copy to the iPad as there was only 1.87GB free...

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Asking for "Date of Birth", receiving "Email Addresses"????

On a registration form I have on-line, I ask registrants for their "date of birth". On the response summary sheet, I am receiving only "email addresses" as a direct responses for that question. Does anyone know why? FYI...I do later ask for their email address and I later am receiving it correctly...so for some reason I am getting that answer twice and not getting dates of births??????? Help?????

I am unable to look at the design of the form since you have set me as a Reader and not a Co-Author. As a Reader I have looked at the View Responses table and what I see is that when I select a cell in the column labled Date of Birth the cell type is reported as E-mail. What you need to do is go to the Design tab, select the Date of Birth field, and in the Field Properties set the field type to Date.
This is a best guess since, again, I am not a Co-author and cannot view the form Design tab.

Try going to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your updated credentials.

All apps are forever tied to the Apple ID used to originally purchase them. They cannot be transferred to a new ID, nor can they be updated using any ID pther than the ID used to originally obtain them. So, in your case, you have two choices: 1. Delete this app/apps & re-purchase using your new ID; or 2. Contact iTunes support, explain the situation, & request that they add this app/apps to the download queue of your new ID. If they agree, then just delete the old app/apps:
