Why do my recently added contacts not show up in contacts list, but show up as contacts in a global search of my iphone?
I have an iPhone 3gs
I suspect that its not just newly created contacts that don't show up in my contacts list, but contacts I added through text message or missed calls. Again, they show up as contacts when I search my iphone for their name. I have never backed up my contacts from any of my mail accounts (people said they were having problem with exchange, and I recently deleted my exchange account). I am not using MobileMe.
When I sync with iTunes, and select Sync Address Book Contacts, I have "All Contacts" selected. The option to select "Selected Groups" is grayed out.
When I look at my groups in my Contacts list App, I am viewing under "All Contacts". There are no other group options.
This is a very annoying problem has anyone officially had it solved??
You can, but it's a bit involved and requires using an app. Probably not worth it for only 5 contacts. If you're interested in how you would do this, you would do the following:
Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (any iCloud contacts will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup. (If you have more than 500 contacts to transfer you will need the “Pro” version.) Use the app to back up the remaining contacts on your phone (from the other accounts) as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself. Confirm that you have received the email.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) and set this to iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars…tap each of the other accounts you are syncing contacts with and turn off contacts syncing with these accounts (otherwise you will see duplicate contacts on your device).
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the contacts from the other accounts back to your device, and to iCloud.

I recently added a few new contacts onto my iPhone, but these names are not appearing under contacts/iMessage on both my MacBook Air and MBP. Texting from either device works just fine, but on the computers, all I'm seeing are their telephone numbers and not their names.
I've searched through multiple forums to find a solution, but I'm not sure I've seen anyone with a similar problem. I've inked and unlinked accounts, logging in and out of iCloud, did hard restarts, etc. Nothing has worked thus far. Any other suggestions anyone might have?

In an Edit is the Number set as an iPhone ?
(I have two other Address Cards that reflect they come from my two other computers - hence the odd name to this one.)
Next in Messages > Preferences > Accounts > iMessages account > Details Button (You will have to Login to view here) Is the country code (Locations at the bottom) right ?
Does this match the fact that the numbers in the Contacts app have Country codes ?

Recently added music not showing in library
Music I have recently added to itunes is not appearing in my library (nor in recently added playlist). When I search for it in the top browser, the drop down box says I have 92 items, but when I click it there is nothing in the library. I am using itunes 11.0.112.

Recently added movies not showing in iTunes 11 library.
Hi - I have just converted a movie via Handbrake as usual, added it to iTunes as usual ; but it does not appear in the Movies LIbrary on the iMac. I saw the progress bar that said it was copying etc.
What is strange, I can see it via AppleTV; but not in the iTunes on the computer.
So summat is up, this is the first time I have actually added something to my library since the dreaded iTunes 11 upgrade.
Any help will be appreciated.
ThanksI also had this problem after upgrading and this is what I did to fix it.
I belived the issue to caused by the iTunes Library.itl file found in (username) > Music > iTunes, since the iTunes Music Library.xml file contained the missing videos. I moved the iTunes Library.itl file to my Desktop and relunched iTunes. iTunes was now blank. Then I went to File > Library > Import Playlist... I then selected the iTunes Music Library.xml. This brought back all the music and videos, including the missing ones.
I also had to grab the Mobile Applications, Books and Tones folders from Finder and drag them back into iTunes as the iTunes Music Library.xml doesn't contain info about those. Not sure if you need to drag in the Podcasts folder as well since I don't have any podcasts at the moment.
I have been able to add new videos since and it works fine. This is a really tedious issue so I hope to not have to do it again.
(Note: you could also just create a new iTunes library (hold option when launching on mac, hold shift on windows) and add in the content to the new library. Make sure to delete the old library when finished.) -

To make sure we are on the same page, when you are creating contacts they are not going to iCloud. Start with the article below and scroll down to the Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Outlook) section to check the settings of iCloud and if any Outlook Add-ins may be causing issues.

Recently added playlists not updating
Am getting quite frustrated. My recently added is fine on iTunes on the computer but via match on my Apple TV it's not showing recent added songs. It's like the playlist stopped updating as any songs added in last 10 days are not showing on the playlist. They are showing in the main library on my Apple TV so it's just the playlist. I created a similar smart playlist called recently purchased with similar rules, only diff is songs must of been purchased and this is behaving exactly the same in that any songs added last ten days are not on it. Sonething is working because I changed the rule to must if been added in last thirty days and it updated Apple TV playlist in as much as it then displayed a lot more songs in recently added going back that far but still none if the very recent ones in last ten days
Why is it not mirroring itunes and updating - any else see the same?I've been having this same exact issue since updating my iPhone to iOS 8.2 - didn't experience this issue prior to that. I normally sync my phone via wifi, and I thought that might not be working. But just connected my phone directly to my computer, and still experiencing the same issue (playlists not updating).
Until Apple can fix this bug, the only workaround I've found that actually works is this - on your iOS device, go into settings and then scroll down to the Music sub-section and open that up. There is a slider called "iTunes Match". I turned it off, waited a second or two, and then turned it back on. At least for me, that seems to cause a proper sync to happen, without causing any side effects. Again, that's my personal experience. -

Someone else may have a workaround, but, as far as I know, if you cannot interact with the screen on the iPhone, there is no way to unlock it so you can get to your contacts.
Were you saving them to iCloud by chance? If so, you can restore them to your new phone.

Hi guys, so we have 2 iPhones in my house, both on the same Apple ID so that my mum and I can share everything. I have just got an iPad mini, and would like to use iMessage on it with my phone number, but the iPad only picks up other more recently added number (not mine, my mums) when I go to message settings. Is there a way to make the iPad default to other number?

I am looking for a specific photo in my event folder, it does not show up, yet when I use the search feature the picture is there. Why doesn't it show up in the folder?
What system and iPhoto version are you running?
If your're using iPhoto 9 or later Command (right) - click on the photo in the search window and select Show Event in the Contextual menu.
That will take you to the event where the photo is.

I had the same problem. On the folders on the drive with the Aperture library did show in the Import panel. After I clicked the computer icon in the upper left corner of the Import panel, suddenly all drives appeared.
You can also try to drag the folder you want to import into the Import panel, to point the file chooser to the drive. -

At first I also thought this to be a bug with Match an smart playlists. When I first activated Match on my iPhone the 'recently added' playlist (which holds about 200 songs on my MacBook Pro) was vompletely empty on the phone. But - After buying some music and downloading some additional songs from the cloud - it was slowly beginning to fill up with this newly added music.
So I guess Apple has quietly made smart playlists device-sensitive. 'recently added' actually means 'recently added in the specific device you are using to view this playlist'. In fact this would just be a logic step. But it would be great if Apple had documented this change of behaviour and would give us the option to make playlists device-relative or cloud-relative. -

I am new member of this community and hope that someone here will help me to sort out my problem.
I have Backberry Pearl and I have 2520 contacts saved in it. But about 10 months before, I had added 2 very important contacts in it but now I had forgotten the name and number of the contacts I saved.
So, is there is any solution to find recently added contacts or is there is any third party application because I always face these types of problems.

There is no solution for this in Blackberry.
But this is possible only i9f you install Zebrost Phonebook i.e.. ZPB Software in your Blackberry from www.zebrost.com or directly from your Blackberry.
After installing zpb, you should follow the following steps for searching recently added contacts from zpb-
1. Go to zpb contact list from your blackberry.
2. Suppose you want to search the contacts that you added in last 10 days, then type a#10, for contacts added in last 15 days type a#15 and so on in your contact list.

Please help us to help you by providing relevant information about your MacBook Pro — which model is it? Which version of OS X is installed on it? Is its battery fully charged? I need to edit out parts of a song to cut it down to two minutes for my daughter's talent show. I went to info/start time and it will cut down one part but only one part. I need to put three parts together. I tried adding duplicates of the song to the list but if If I change the start time on one it will change it on all of them.
In your library, right-click the song you want to edit.
select "get info".
go to "options" and select the start and stop times for your first section of the song.
click "OK".
Find the shortened version of the song in your library. It may take a minute for it to show up. right click it again and select "create (????) version". (the ???? is different for different formats).
The library will spit out a new, second version of the song which you can rename. I suggest you use the original title and add a 1 to the end.
Now you can go back to the other version and repeat the process with a different start/stop time.
Once you are done editing, you can burn all of your versions to a disk, just make sure your interval time is zero so there are no gaps between edits.
To keep the orginal song on your library, just go back to the original and put the start/stop times back to the original settings.
