Why has the big battery indicator disappeared?

My iPod Touch (IOS 6.1.3) no longer shows the big battery indicator when the iPod is turned on or plugged in for a recharge. The battery seems to charge ok according to the tiny battery indicator but the big indicator has disappeared for good. Also, when plugged in, the tiny indicator doesn't show charging is taking place.
In addition, the device no longer shows up in iTunes and doesn;t sync. I suspected a defective cable but chraging does seem to work. Have tried recycling power to no efect.

- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Since doing a restart the green box 'this site is safe' isn't showing at the side of results when searching topics in google? It used to before I did it. Can't explain it in computer language!

I assume that you mean that you have reset Firefox and created a new profile.
A new profile doesn't have the extensions from the previous profile, but extensions that are installed globally can still be activated in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions".
Note that we see a lot of reports that extensions created by security software cause issues in Firefox, so be cautious in case problem return.
What problems did you have previously that you reset Firefox?<br />

Why has the "currently playing" symbol disappeared in itunes 11.0.4?

The little loudspeaker icon that appears to the left of the "name" column has disappeared from my itunes 11.0.4. I can't find a button in Preferences or a selection under "View" that would get it back. Does anyone know how to make it reappear? (I know I can look up at the info bar to see the title, but it's a lot faster to just glance at the name column.) Thanks!

Why has the Purchased Music tab disappeared in the Greek itunes

Hello,
when iTunes launched Match here in greece last week I jumped on the bandwagon, however the "Purchased Music" tab has now dissapeared from iTunes and i cannot redownload any of my purchased music. Also the iTunes Match icon has dissapeared from under the STORE menu.

Windows XP, Battery indicator disappeared

After I performed Windows Update (Windows XP), the blue battery indicator disappeared from the task bar. Normally when the computer ran on battery, there was a battery indicator next to the clock and showed the battery level. Now, I see the battery indicator only after I uninstall the Toshiba Power Saver Utility. Obviously there is a conflict between the utility and one of the updates. Any ideas?

If you would like to see the Blue Battery, you can go to the Control Panel/ Power Options then Advanced and check the "Always show Icon in the Task Bar" item. As far as I know you can not use MS power management and Toshiba tool at the same time. If you use MS power options the Toshiba tool will be disabled.

Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

Never see the charging battery indicator

Hi...I just got the new 8 GB Nano 3G and there is something I don't understand. When I plug my Ipod to my Intel MAC mini on a USB 2.0 port, I never see the big battery charging indicator or the charged battery indicator. The only thing I see on the grey screen is a 30 pin black connector image in an orange circle and it's written underneath : Connected...Eject before disconnecting. How come I don't see the charging battery indicator ??
The other thing, this screen is always ON at full brightness. Is there a way to get this screen turned OFF or dimmed when connected to the computer ?
I tried the IPOD directly connected to the computer or connected to the Apple dock and no difference. I run IPOD firmware 1.01 and the latest version of Itunes.

Regarding the Battery indicator I think that is working as designed. If you EJECT your ipod (while keeping it connected to the USB port) then you should see the charging indicator.
The dimming question... You can change this setting in the menu. Now I don't have my ipod in front of me to give you the right path but you should find it fairly easy if you browse the menus. Look for "backlight" in "settings" I think.

It seems that the low battery indicator for the wireless mighty mouse appears when the battery level goes under 30%. Is it possible to change this setting, e.g. make it occur when it passes the 5% of remaining battery?

I fully agree with Tibo. I'd like to change this setting as well.
This low battery warning may be a good heads-up for someone who feeds their MM cheap batteries but, I got two Energizer AA Lithium batteries in mine and it literally "keeps going and going..." consistently for weeks while constantly receiving the annoying low battery warning.
Come on, users a perfectly capable of deciding what is fair-warning on the life of batteries we feed the MM.

If you are referring to Pages v5.2.2 on Mavericks, or v5.5.1 on Yosemite — the rulers do not disappear in the Pages document when using the Print (cmd+P) keyboard shortcut. The document horizontal rules are temporarily obscurred by the drop down print dialog sheet.
I observe no evidence of disappearing rules unless they are forced via the cmd+R keyboard shortcut.

Surely the i7 and 4gb can cope with the demands and the 64-bit version would allow more efficient use of the computing power.

Good question but Im afraid only Toshiba marketing division has right answer to your question.
I just presume they create own decision based on market research.
You can try to install own 64bit version if the drivers, tools and utilities are available.

Google and Apple have apparently parted ways in the 'bundled apps' area.
If you don't like the bundled map app, then your option is to look for a replacement in the app store.

IKR! But u an order a connector that can plug nto any old speakers and then connect to your charger port and it will play music!

It should not take more than 4 hr. Is there any indication it is making process? i.e. When you click on it to play do you get a message like "Will be avialable in 2hr 34 min"? Is that time changing? I would cancel the download. Restart ATV and then retry. If it goes more than 4hr then there is an issue.
As another option you can always download the movie to your computer and use the iTuens menus to play it from your computer under the Computers icon.
