To use the hotspot for any of those devices, I believe you have to switch to a postpaid account and plan. You can see the pricing for the available postpaid plans under the "Shop" area of the website.

  • I have been tricked to buy at&t hotspot device which substantially increased my monthly bill

    Hi,
I had an extremely unpleasant experience at best buy mobile store which is located at the 750 7th ave, new york, ny, 10019.
I went to this store to upgrade to my phone to an iphone 5s on Dec 30th 2013. I was told if I buy the hotspot product, then I only have to pay $25 for the iphone. I asked specifically will my monthly bill change for this product. The lady helped me looked into my family plan and told me she can downgrade my 3GB data plan to a 2GB and I won't feel anything on my monthly bill at all.
When the bill due on February came out, I found that she purchased two different kinds of insurances for my line, which costs me around $10 dollars per month. What worse is that the hotspot costs me more than $40 per month, not mentioning one time fee of $36 dollars for the hotspot line. Also nothing has changed about the 3GB data plan on my line. So she failed to do the downgrade she mentioned to me, and now I have to pay $40/month more for her mistake.
After I found out this, I brought the hotspot device (which I have not used at all yet) to  the store and asked why this happened. They changed three people to help me, each took a very long time to just understand the problem. After two and an half hours, I was told even though she sold the product with wrong information, the only solution for me is to either keep the current plan (for which I have to pay more than $40/month for 2 years) or go to the at&t to cancel the plan myself which will cost me $175 cancellation fee.  They agreed with their mistakes, but they told me they can't do anything simply because they are not at&t.
And also during the time of our communication, they called at&t to see if I lied anything about my plan, which of course they failed. But the action of trying to shift the blame on customer is unacceptable.
Now i am facing a ver large bill each month and I do not know what to do with it. Why should I have to bear the mistake of the store? Are there any ways to file a formal complaint?

    Hello yujiao,
When purchasing or upgrading mobile devices, whether a phone or a mobile hotspot, a 2 year contract is typically signed, and therefor agreed to upon purchase. With all the different plans out there and all of the different options, it can be a bit of a daunting task to make sure you are getting what is right for you.
We strive to make sure our customers know exactly what they are purchasing and agreeing to for 2 years, and what their bill should look like once it’s received so they can be confident in their purchase. It is regretful to hear that you were surprised to with your bill in February after purchasing a hotspot device with your iPhone 5s upgrade at our Times Square store in New York, NY, as you state it was not at all what you had expected.
Sadly, I was unable to locate your purchase receipt from this upgrade using the email you registered with the forum. I am reaching out to you via private message to gather further details in regards to this purchase. • I have an ipad 32gb 3g and iam wondering is there a way to increase this to the 64gb or would that increase my monthly bill?

is there a way to increase the space on my ipad?

You can't increase the internal capacity of the iPad, they aren't upgradeable - all you can do is copy content off and on the iPad via your computer's iTunes as when you need it, or potentially use the cloud (depending on what is available in the cloud in your country) e.g. only sync large items such as tv shows and films onto the iPad when you think that you might need them, otherwise use that storage for your other apps/content. There are also some wifi-enabled external drives that can be used to stream media content to the iPad e.g. Seagate GoFlex Satellite and HyperDrive are a couple of examples

  • Why have my monthly payments increased?

why have my monthly payments increased?

    Hi sallyb89
You signed up in February 2013 for a promotional price that is valid for the first 12 months.  After the promo period your plan renews at the regular price.  An email is sent 30 days before your annual renewal date with details of the price for the next 12 months - perhaps it went into a spam/junk folder?
    Kind regards
    Bev

  • Monthly billing increased by 56% with no explanation

Is your unexplained increase (56%) of my monthly billing by $93.38 an error or a mistaken belief that I will continue your "service" iregardless of the charges? I do not accept this amount being applied to my autopay account and expect an immediate resolution of this issue.

Dont expect resolution through the regular channels,Contact Tom Karinshaks office(ypu can find the email at bottom of his letter on Comcast web page. When I have any issues with Comcast I skip the regular CSRs,they are only there to upsell you and have no real power to change any billing errors.Contact Tom K and you can get immediate resolve.Good LuckP.S you can even negotiate a better price(I did and save 60.00 a month)

  • Why has my email notification of monthly bill availability online stopped coming?

The bill of 4/25/14 was the last time I received notification that my monthly bill was available for viewing online (paperless billing). VZ customer service said that they've been sending the notifications, but I haven't received them. I do not have any blocks for their email. I had been receiving the notifications for almost 2 years. Any else have this problem? Any suggestions?

        lylemo,
Oh my, we want to ensure you are getting your bill notifications so you know when your bill is ready for review. Have you checked your email SPAM box to see if they are going there? Do you get any notifications to your email?

  • Is this how to treat your loyal customers !? (Massive increase in monthly charges!)

So I've been with Verizon for 2 years now and my services are up for renewal.
I decided to go to the Verizon website to check out what renewal / upgrade options were available to me. The usual prompt to talk to a CSR came up and thought what the hell, lets see what they can do for me.
The conversation started with them thanking me for being a loyal customer to Verizon, but then the conversation took a turn for the worst.  Not so much with the agent but more of what he could or as the case is NOT offer me.
The CSR first informed me that I could have exactly the same package as I have now for an increase of just $10 m/o.  I was even informed that my internet speed would increase from 35mb to 50mb.
    However this was incorrect !
My current Triple Pay pack (purchased 2 years ago) was $109.99 m/o.  I also have Multi Room DVR ($39.99 m/o) along with HBO ($16.99)  With taxes etc my monthly bill is $186 ish.
After a long conversation with the CSR it appears that TRIPLE PLAY is now a whopping $154.99.  For me that's nearly a $50 increase !
Add to this the $39.99 for multi room and an increased price for my HBO service of $19.99 and my monthly payments jumps from $186 to $219, an increase of $30.
This also includes the $5 monthly discount.
What I thought would be a painless transition to a new contract as now turned into me considering leaving Verizon.  I can't justify paying $30 + taxes extra each month for the same services I've had for 2 years !
Is this really how Verizon say "Thanking for being a loyal customer"....
This is not a complaint against the CSR agent.  Infact they were really helpful, its more a complaint about the treatment of so called "Loyal" customers !

OK.. I'm thinking of taking this further as surely this is false advertising !
On the front page of MY VERIZON
Note that it states "LOCK IN YOUR CURRENT BUNDLE DEAL PRICE FOR 2 YEARS !!!!"
OK, so heres is my current bundle deal ! as seen on my bill....
So why cant you do exactly what your website is telling I can.
Instead the CSR tries to sell my a bundle deal at $154.99 m/o !

  • Confused by increase in Monthly Direct Debits

    Hi all.
Being a newbie, I'm sure this topic must have been raised in the past.
As a new BT customer, I was paying Monthly Direct Debits of £23.50 to cover my contract for Unlimited Evening and Weekend Plan plus BT Total Broadband Option 1.
After 6 months, I have just received a bill advising me that my Direct Debits would increase to £38.00 per month (a rise of 62%!).
Having been unable to get through to an advisor on the phone, I thought I'd do a little research on the web.  I found the BT Help topic "Why has my Monthly Payment Plan amount changed?", which lays out the way the bill is calculated:
Monthly Rental Charges + Last quarter usage divided by 3 + Outstanding charges divided by 6 = Monthly Payment.
    In my case, this would be: £23.43 + £3.51/3 + £5.44/6 = £25.51 per month.
Therefore, I'm a little confused, not to mention rather annoyed that my Direct Debits have been increased to £38.00pm, when £26.00pm would seem more reasonable!
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
Having the same kind of problem with BT...you are not alone!
I  signed up to BT Vision back in October10 where the nice salesman told me for the package i was having (phone, broadband and tv) I would be paying £51 a month based on my previous phone usage (this figure was worked out for 3 months in advance). After a few initial teething problems all went well until after 3 months BT then tell me my payments were jumping to £88.50 a month without any explanation (my phone usage had not changed in any way during this time). Another 3 months pass, where in the meantime I had paid BT a total of £265.50 but my bill says I only owed them £151.51 so I was in credit by £113.99. BT still wanted to carry on charging me £88.50 even though that was way over what I should be paying. After cancelling the direct debit ( which was an arduous process over the phone talking with their overseas billing department) I have now received a bill for £50+ .....where has my £113.99 credit disappeared?....wits end?....tearing my hair out?....pulling teeth?...all could be used to describe the BT billing experience. The scary thing is BT would of quite happily carried on taking £88.50 out of my account every month and not done a thing.....but if i wasn't paying enough they would be quick to up my payments. Also they are sitting on my £113....along with doubtless other customers overpayments and getting a nice little bit of interest off it. Unfortunately I am tied into an 18 month contract with them and whilst I cant fault the services they provide (although my broadband usage goes near my 40 GB limit which astounds me because we only use the internet for the usual things e mails you tube etc. but thas another forum issue!) i would quite happily just get a freesat box and another internet provider because it seems BT just dont care!
rant over  ...well at least till i try to ring BT later!
    Pete

  • Re: Confused by increase in Monthly Direct Debits

    Hi everyone!
I'm new to the forums and have a quick question:  We have a BT line at home which is purely for broadband, so we hardly use the home phone for any calls.  As such, our monthly bills are £13.50, which is only the line rental amount.  I've been sent an email today with my latest bill telling me I'm in credit to the tune of nearly £30, so BT are giving me a 2 month holiday from payments, which is nice.  However, the next line then goes on to tell me my direct debit payments are going to increase to cover my bills!
I'm a bit perplexed by how my direct debits can increase to cover my bills when a) I'm in credit the majority of the time and keep getting payment holidays, and b) I hardly ever use my home phone so I never actually pay any call costs!
Can someone from BT please get in touch and help me to understand, because this doesn't make much sense to me....
    Thanks.
    Carmen.

  • Increase in monthly direct debit

I got my may bt bill for phone & broadband today and it was slightly higher than usual. BT have said they are going to increase my monthly payments from £43 (which was the figure they advised I pay each month) to £76.50 a month.
This is too high a sum for me to reasonably afford each month. Can my monthly repayment not be set at a more realistic figure at around £55?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi gibson971,
Depending on how much the credit or debit balance is increasing by, the Monthly Payment Plan amount is reassessed regularly and changed accordingly.
I'll take a look at your account and send you an email shortly with more details relating to your own Monthly Payment Plan amount to see what we can do here.
    Thanks,

  • Confused about my monthly bill/activation fee?!?!?

Finally got an iPhone 4 on August 30th... paid $120 to activate it and for the phone! Which I thought was a VERY good deal. I've had the phone for 12 days no and decided to see where I'm at on my bill. I was told by the representative who helped me that I was only going to have to pay around 90 bucks a month... 60 for the monthly bill and 30 for data package! Sounded do-able. UNFORTUNATELY, I'm checking my balance that I'm going to owe on the 29th and it says I'm going to owe $160.86. I am so ******, I can't afford this!
TEC Asurion $9.99 - Asurion 09/05 - 10/04 (month in advance) $9.99 WHAT IS THIS?
Cellular Service - Activation $35.00 AND THIS? Since I already paid the activation fee when I bought the phone...
    Nationwide Talk & Text 450 08/30 - 09/04
    $11.95
    9.99/mo / 6 days on new plan
    Nationwide Talk & Text 450 09/05 - 10/04 (month in advance) $59.99
I don't understand why I'm getting chaged seperately for that.
Can anyone PLEASE explain all of this to me??? THERE IS DEFINITELY A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 90 DOLLARS AND 160 DOLLARS. UGH

Prorated means you only pay for the number of days in the month you actually had the plan,  For example, if your normal bill for one month was $120.00 and you actually only had the phone and plan for 15 days of that month, you would only be charged for 1/2 months use, or $60.00.
But like Tidbits said, Verizon bills you in advance, so, (again assuming, for example only, that your normal one months bill is $120.00) if you had the phone and plan for 15 days of the current months billing cycle, Verizon will charge you (on your 1st bill only) $60 for the 15 days of the current month,  and then $120 for the next months service, or $180. (Plus the cost of the phone, activation fee, + taxes and any accessories you purchased, unless you paid cash at the time of purchase)  Obviously, the 1st months bill is always larger than normal.  The 2nd bill you receive will be whatever a normal months service will cost you. (in my example, $120 plus taxes and fees, but of course, yours will be whatever plan you agreed to) According to your post, it looks like about $100 plus taxes and fees.
