Witholding tax calculation with complex formula

Hi Team,
Is there any solution for the below requirement in calculating withholding tax.
System should consider the below formula while calculating Withholding tax for vendor.
If the Invoice (INV) amount is Less than 800 = Tax is 0
801 to 4000  = (INV amount - 800) * 20%
4001 to 20000 = (80% of INV amount) * 20%
20001 to 50000 = (80% of INV amount) * 30%
more than 50001 = (80% of INV amount) * 40%
as per my understanding we can use withholding tax forms. but I am not able to get the above scenario. Can anybody trough the exact step to build the above formula for calculating withholding tax code.
Thanks,
Ravi

Hi,
You create a new WHT Type and Code for this scenario, where in for WHT code defenition, you must select indicator WHT Formula.
Now you can maintain formula for the above created type and code combination with the conditions of your requirement.
IMG -- Financial Accounting (New) -- Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) -- Withholding Tax -- Extended Withholding Tax -- Calculation -- Minimum and Maximum Amounts -- Define Min/Max Amounts for Withholding Tax Codes......Here Maintain the minimum base amount as 800...for the newly created type and code combination.
IMG -- Financial Accounting (New) -- Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) -- Withholding Tax -- Extended Withholding Tax -- Calculation -- Withholding Tax Code -- Define Formulas for Calculating Withholding Tax...............Here you maintain the below entries.
CrcyWHT TypeWHT CodeCountryValid From Date
Then select this new entry and double click on Formulas for withholding tax calculation.
There maintain your conditions.

  • Withholding tax calculation with formula base problem

    Dear all,
I maintained some formula depend on client requirement. for example:
up to 200,000.00  no withholding tax
    2 lax to500,000.00  <1.00 %> tax
    5 lax to 1,500,000.00 <2.50%> tax 1.00 % Reduce on 500,000.00 base amount
    15 lax to 2,500,000.00 < 3.50 % > tax 2.50 % Reduce on 1,500,000.00 base amount
    25 lax to 3,000,000.00 < 4.00 % > tax 3.50 % Reduce on 2,500,000.00 base amount
    30 lax to 99,999,999,999.00     <5.00 %> tax 4.00 % Reduce on 3,000,000.00 base amount
Like this i maintained slabs in formulas for calculating withholding tax. depend on this formula up to 2 lax their is no tax. after crossing 2 lax up to 5 lax 1% tax
in this case tax will calculate based on total vendor invoices. But hear it is calculated on present invoice based only. for example i posted 2 invoices with amount 2 lax. it means i reached 1st slab up to 2 lax no Tax. system also calculated like that only. but when i try to post another invoice with amount 3 lax system is calculated 1% tax on 3 lax amount only. but already i posted 2 lax invoice in vendor account. system not considered this amount.
*but actually in this case i want to calculate 3+2= 5 lax * 1% tax . but hear my system is not consider previous invoices .*
    Please do need full help.....

  • Witholding Tax calculation while payment and advance

    Dear experts,
I have few questions as below. It would be great if you can help me out in this :
In vendor master I have two WTH tax codes for invoice and payment and marked as liable.
Incase of invoice (FB60) posting system is calcu;ating correctly and posting, but while posting no popup for to rectify the WTX code also no base amount is populating in WTH tax tab of invoice posting. Is this correct way??
While making payment for the same invoice through F-53, system is again calculating on same open item and no popup, until I go to WTH tax tab and delete the tax amount. What is lacking in my customising of WTH tax code (payment type), to restrict WTH tax calcutaing twice ??
While making advance payment by F-48, system not calculating WTX tax and showing tax code is mandatory, even though tax code  (V0-tax exempt) entered, no WTH tax calculation happening. I have checked all Field status of document type and recon account, nothing is mandatory. I dint know why?? Please help in this regard.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Abhi

    Hi madhu
Thanks for explaining the process it works.
Regarding the error I was facing earlier to enter the tax code in F-48 for the tax category was marked as ' * ' in the advance reconciliation GL. I have removed them and now the error is not coming.
But now for the same or advance payment with F-48, I am not able post the document, though the payment WTX code is showing but not calculating the amount for the same.
    The error is
"Withholding tax amount exceeds total bank line item amounts."
    Message no. 7Q320
How to post it. Please help.

New Scenario:(Tax 4%is not calculated on Frieght charges)
    Base amount = Rs.100/-
    Tax 4%   =       Rs.   4/-

Create a same freight condition type with reference to the freight condition type already present in ur calculation schema.
now assisn the new condition type in ur pricing procedure upon the From and TO based on the subtotal like:
    Base amount =                   Rs.100/-
Freight (old condition type) = Rs. 0
    Rs.100/-
    Tax 4% = Rs. 4
    Rs.104/-
Freight (new condition type) = Rs.20/-
    Total Rs.124 /-

    Hi,
Which version of SAP B1 you are using?

  • F-53 Witholding tax

I am trying to compensate two open line items (which refere to the same document) and for which we did a payment in advance.
In F-53 we set the indicator for Special Ledger(we work with special ledger to payment in advance) but witholding tax calculation is wrongly done. Otherwise if we do no set the indicator for Special ledger the calculation is properly done (but in this case the value paid in advance is not considered...so we can't do this).
    Please, could someone help me??
I've already checked vendor master data and witholding tax is properly defined. I also checked the open line items and they look ok.
    Tks,
    Naej

    Dear all,
without a practical example with all the posted documents and the business process, is very difficult to help You. Anyway the down payment ia a payment in advance and It should contain WT amount in case Your vendor has the WT type defined at the payment time. When You do the final payment by f-53 and You clear the DP and the invoice, the System should contains two WT line items: the first with the amount equal to the one posted into the Down payment and with the contary sign, the second that contains the total calculated WT amount.
    I hope this helps.

  • Tax calculation in backend and in SRM (classic and standalone scenario)

    Hello,
I have an issue regarding calculation of tax. 2 scenarios are used in common: classic and standalone. One node of Organizational structure is using classic scenario, another node is using standalone. So I have 2 Accounting Systems defined (one for each node).
    Requirement is:
    - For classic scenario, setting the tax calculation in backend
    - For standalone scenario, setting the tax calculation to no tax calculation
Problem is that I can not customize the system this way. I do not know any mean to set 2 ways for tax calculation. Would you have any idea to do this?
    Thanks,

  • AP Tax Calculation issue with SINGLE TAX vs TAX GROUP

    Hi Gurus,
i need your help on below, please advise!!
i have to calculate ap VAT tax on AP invoice,
(Rounding = nearest, precession=2, tax calcualtion= Include tax)
if i calculate 5% is the tax rate, then the tax amount is 0.47cents,this is in case of single tax calculation.
here my requirement was i need calculate 2 Taxes(TAX A AND TAX B (Rates are 5 AND 5%)
    EG:
Invoce Base amount = 10 dollars
    in case of single tax = 5/105 * 10 = 0.4761 cents(this is 48cents in apps with rouning nearest and precession 2)
    tax mode = Include tax
    In case of tax group = Tax A and Tax B = 5 + 5 = 10%, when i calculate this in apps its showing 45cents and 45 cents as tax A and B
why this tax caluclation is different with single tax and tax group.
tax code actual amount tax amount remaining amount
    single tax 10 0.4761 10 - 0.48cents = 9.52 cents
    tax group 10 45+45=90 cents 9.10 cents
    Please Help !!!
    Thanks,

    Hi Vineeth,
This is Kathy from BSI Support.  I wanted to make sure that you understood that the TF80 Like Reciprocal flag was made available in TF90 for testing purposes only.  This was meant as a tool for customers to be able to compare their TF90 results to their TF80 output, to insure a successful upgrade.  This funcitonality, however, was never intended to be utilized going forward.  There have been significant changes implemented in BSI TaxFactory 9.0 regarding multi-state withholding (also known as reciprocity).  There is information available on our website that explains these changes.  If you log onto our website, please look under the "Whats New" section for an explanation of reciprocal functionality in BSI TaxFactoryu2122 9.0

  • I need help with a complex formula

I am a current student attempting to keep track of requirements for college along with my courses that I am taking. I have two tables. I am trying to put an X in Table2:A2 if the data from Table2:B2 AND Table2:C2 matches Table1:SUBJ AND Table1:CRS. The match in Table1 has to be in the same row since there are duplicates. So a check mark will appear in Table2 once I've taken the class and it shows up in Table1. Does anyone have a equation that would make this work?
Here's a link so you can download the spreadsheet in Numbers '09 and fool around with it.

My error.I was reading "The match in Table1 has to be in the same row since there are duplicates," and overgeneralizing. I was wondering about the "complex formula" part of the request.
Here's another go—with a 'complex' formula, and a couple of 'helper columns.'
Column D on both tables contains a simple formula that combines the subject and course number into a single string.
    =B&" "&C
Table 1::Column A contains the more complex formula:
    =IFERROR(IF(AND(MATCH(D2,Table 2 :: $D,0)>0,D2<>" "),"✓",""),"")
IFERROR traps the error that occurs when there's no match.
the D<>" " catches the rows where no subject and course number has been entered in the first table.
Descriptions and further examples of the functions used are available in the iWork formulas and Functions User Guide, The guide is downloadable via the Help menu in Numbers.

  • Formula variable for date calculations with date-characteristics (2004s)

    Hi SDN,
I'd like to calculate the number of days between to date-characteristics. In 3.5, I was used to create 2 formula variables of the type 'replacement path', with 'date' as the dimension indicator. In my formula, I used the 'proces value as date' function for each variable, and I could perform calculations with them.
I'm trying to do the same in 2004s. However, I can't create replacement path's with 'date' as a dimension indicator. So I use 'number' instead, but it doesn't work: my query shows 'x'.
I can use the variables that I created using the 3.5 query designer as a workaround. But I hope there is a better solution.
If other people experience the same problem, please respond. Then I know it's probably a bug.
    Kind regards,
    Daniel

    Daniel,
Try to look at the formula variables defined before the upgrade and see what is different to the newly defined. I am guessing just the terminology used is different.
If not the date value might be blank or something for one of the f-variables used. Try to display the formula variable values as KF in the query results and check what it is showing.
    I hope this helps.

    1)  It depends on how your firm implements tax calculation. Some firms use external software to do the tax calculations. You can configure Tax Calculation under IMG in SRM system path SRM->Cross Application Basic Settings->Tax Calculation->Determine System for tax calculation.
