Workflow Restart Error from transaction SWPR

Hi workflow Gurus,
I am facing problem restarting workflow from transaction SWPR. Instead of restarting workflow I am getting an error message as unable to start subflow (ID: XYZ, node: abc).
How can I restart the workflow?

The problem wad caused by mistake in workflow template WS75100021. After task 'Create test log' there is a loop. The end condition of the loop is 'test log is Submitted or Validated'. But the test log can have also status 'Closed' (The tester created the test log and close it immediately). It cause endless loop.
You can proceed following manual steps.
1. Go to transaction SWDD (Workflow Builder).
2. Open workflow template WS75100021.
3. Open loop number 000177
4. Change the condition this way
&FOPC_CASEL.STATUS& = IFO09 or
&FOPC_CASEL.STATUS& = IFO10 or
&FOPC_CASEL.STATUS& = IFO07
5. Activate the workflow template

I think you need to analyse the Workflow log and then try to restart. I think you might have to change the container element value in order to remove the error. Please check and act accordingly.

Middleware errors from transaction smw01 in worklist

Hi,
for all users the MW errors (transaction smw01) can be seen in the worklist as workflow items (7.0 SP4).
Does anybody know how and where to deactivate these settings?

But I cannot identify any setting there which could be the reason for the workflow items related to the MW errors.
There are only some "historical" mail settings for some users as this system is a copy of the productive system.

Workflow mailer error

Hi ,
I was getting the workflow mailer error from R12. I tried to start,but failed......after that I got a confirmation from my client that somebody changed a table, then I checked again and found Workflow mailer working fine....I didnt get what happened on this...

Workflow Builder launching error from PFTC transaction.

MY PROBLEM:
I am getting an error message when I click on the WORKFLOW BUILDER button from the PFTC transaction to go into the workflow definition screen. When I click the WORKFLOW BUILDER button the system throws the error and it remains on the same screen and does not take me to the workflow builder screen.
I am getting the following error message. Any idea what I need to do to avoid seeing this error message.
Line/object not integrated in navigation.
Message no. 5W010
ALTERNATIVE OPTION:
However I am able to go to the workflow builder screen from the menu GOTO > WORKFLOW BUILDER> CURRENT VERSION(F7).
Any idea why I am facing this problem. Is there anything I need to activate in my system?
I am on ECC 5.0 - IDES SYSTEM.

Error while using SWPR to restart a HCM P&F

One of the HCM P&F worklfow went into error when the approver tried to approve the form from UWL. The error was due to Authorization issue. We rectified the issue and tried to restart from tcode SWPR. When we restarted the workflow from SWPR we got a dump: "Message type " " is unknown". The following is the error log from ST22. Have any one faced this issue before, if so please advice what could be the issue.

Check in ST22 itself where the code showing the error which line and also excatly the ABAP code it will show. I think the error something in the configuration. Check the code of ABAP dump.

Restart error status workflow

Hello All,
We have few workflow items with status error due some missing agents. we have assigned the agents.
Now user asking us to restart or retrigge the same workflow item .
But when I tried to restart using SWIA getting message like ' Workflow cannot be restarted in status ERROR'
Is ther any possibility to restart ? If it's not how to get the same material name to reuse ....

Hi,
1. You can restart the same workflow by using the Transcation SWPR
2. If you the problem still exists then please re-trigger the new workflow and delete the error workflow.
   a. Please use transaction SWUS_WITH_REFERENCE to trigger the new workflow where you need to pass the workflow
       instance number
b. You can also use transaction SWUS to trigger the workflow where you need to pass all the required workflow container
      element values
Note : while using SWUS_WITH_REFERENCE all the required values will be fetched from the workflow instance number. No need to pass manualy.

Prevent automatic workflow restart after error on an interface

Hi, i've got an IDOC-XI-SOAP interface that sends large xml's.
It causes me constants time-outs because, the reciever interface, doesn't send the response until finish processing (more than 3 minutes per IDOC).
I need 2 things to solve this issue.
1- Change the time-out for this particular interface
2- Cancel the automatic workflow restart after error on this particular interface

RSXMB_RESTART_MESSAGES program when schedueld in BG restarts failed messages. Hence you can cancel this process. But it will affect other interfaces also.

I have 1 more Question for you. Are you usigna BPM for IDOC --> XI -- >SOAP?? B'cos IDOCS are aysnc in nature & you are talking about waiting for SOAP response from your receiver.

This error message is caused by security considerations. The WS Navigator can access only web services which are deployed on the local engine. To allow the WS Navigator to access an external hosts, you have to add
these hosts, to the WS Navigator white list. The white list is a list hosts which the WS Navigator should be able to access.
Please refer to this link, which describes where the white lists are maintained in the visual administrator: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7c/f257422d095542e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
When configuring the white lists one can use wild card. For instance. If a web service deployed on www.sap.com should be accesseed by the WS Navigator, then the the white list should contain *.sap.com. The whitelist can contain more then one host, in that case they should be separated by an comma or semi-column.

After restart error message appears:

• All print commands are greyed out and unavailable — even to call up the printer commands cannot be done.
The printer printed fine until about 2 weeks ago when this error message appeared. Printing continues from Pages, I-photo, preview etc. — only Photoshop fails.
The printer has been turned on and off, as have open documents been closed and open etc.. Preferences reset. Repeatedly I have read through blogs and forums and attempted to contact Adobe — all without results
Epson support struggled to find reason and several solutions were tried and they assume this is an Adobe problem.
Running Mac Powerbook X 10.10.2 / Photoshop CS6 13.0.6.x64
Attempting unsuccessfully to print to Epson 3880

I am not very much sure about how the txn FV60 look and feel would be , but the solution to your answer is already in your post, Assuming that there would not be any kind of button on the application tool bar of the standard txn FV60, you might have customized it, in sucha way that you could include the button START WORKFLOW on application tool bar.
As per your requirement you want to initiate the workflow only in case when the end user clicks on the START WORKFLOW button, In that case I think by using the Module pool programming you can actually resolve the requirement. By just simply validating the SY-UCOMM , if the fcode is equal to the FCODE of START WORKFLOW button, then by using either SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT or SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW. You can start manually.
Instead of implementing some Badi's or User Exits..

How to remove error from propagation and verify replication is ok?

Have a one-way schema level streams setup and the target DB is 3-node RAC (named PDAMLPR1). I run a large insert at source DB (35million rows). After committing on source, I made a failure test on the target DB by shutting down the entire database. The streams seems stopped as the heartbeat table sequence (it inserts a row each min) on target is still reflecting last night. We get the error in the dba_propagation:
ORA-02068: following severe error from PDAMLPR1
ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AQADM_SYS", line 1087
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AQADM_SYS", line 7639
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_AQADM", line 631
ORA-06512: at line 1

while capture, propagation, and apply are all in enabled status. I restarted capture and propagation at source DB. But still see the error message above. My questions are:
1. How to delete the error from dba_propagation?
2. How to verify the streams is still running fine?
In normal test, during such large insert, the heartbeat table added a row in an hour. Very slow.

Well, if I can give you my point of view: I think that 35 millions LCR is totally unreasonnable. Did you really post a huge insert of 35 millions then committed that single utterly huge transaction? Don't be surprised it's going to work very very hard for a while!
With a default setup, Oracle recommends to commit every 1000 LCR (row change).
There are ways to tune Streams for large transaction but I have not done so personnaly. Look on Metalink, you will find information about that (mostly documents id 335516.1, 365648.1 and 730036.1).
One more thing: you mentionned about a failure test. Your target database is RAC. Did you read about queue ownership? queue_to_queue propagation? You might have an issue related to that.
How did you setup your environment? Did you give enough streams_pool_size? You can watch V$STREAMS_POOL_ADVICE to check what Oracle think is good for your workload.
If you want to skip the transaction, you can remove the table rule or use the IGNORETRANSACTION apply parameter.

Workflow in Error state in SWI1 tx, but still table is updating as usual, weird!!

In this z_workflow, its calling a custom FM, z_fm.
In this z_fm, I'm updating a custom tbale, z_table.
Before writing UPDATE z_table, I am locking this z_table by using 'ENQUEUE_E_TABLE', as below,

To avoide this confusing situation (workflow in error, but rest of the code blocks are executing normally), workflow expert suggested the below approach (raising of EXCEPTION in z_fm instead of ERROR message), pls. suggest me is it OK / safe / works good for me?

Yes, your WF guy is correct - raising exception will stall the workflow and not execute to the second table update.
Moreover, second table update logic should be kept inside of the SY-SUBRC = 0 of locking on FIRST TABLE update.
In current case, I cannot say for sure that second table is getting updated in the same call because as soon as TYPE 'E' message is triggered in a background step, standard exception is triggered in the workflow runtime to stop execution - which will NOT execute the code after MESSAGE statement.
As mentioned by Mike, the second table may have been updated from another instance/session/etc but from not this one.

Workflow Customizing Error: "Workflow: No workflow definition found"

Hi experts,
I am currently configuring Workflow on our newly installed ECC 6.0 using the Automatic Workflow Customizing (SWU3).
I was able successfully executed all necessary items including the RFC destination but when i choose the 'Start Verification Workflow', this error appears: "Workflow: No workflow definition found".
I tried logging in and out of the system, and repeating the execution of each item but the same error still occurs.
I read a thread that says it might do something with WF-BATCH but i was able to set it as the RFC destination; WF-BATCH has the following settings in SU01:
Username: WF-BATCH
User Type: System
User Group: SUPER
Authorization: SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW
Hope somebody can help me resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Hi Dex,
Have you maintained the Number ranges in Transaction SWU3?
If so, then test the workflow from SWDD itself.
I think you gave the wrong workflow ID in the SWUS transaction.
First try with SWDD and then check it in SWUS Transaction.
