WRT110 - cant access modem or router
I purchased WRT110 about 1 week ago and it was working ok (not the best) but it was satisfactory. There are 2 laptops in the home trying to access this router. I loaded the cd on the main laptop and the other will connect also but sometimes there are issues where we both cant be on at the same time or 1 will knock the other off. Yesterday after just the main laptop was online, the connection dropped so i called Linysys for tech support. the tech had me reset router and change ip address of router and now I cant get on internet even if i connect directly to the modem. the other pc will connect via the modem so we know its not a dsl issue. I tried to uninstall linksys from my laptop and reinstall the cd but when i get to step 4 it doesnt even recognize the router. What is wrong????
Solved!
Go to Solution.
Take the machine that can access the internet when connected directly to the modem and plug it into the router. Then log into the router admin page and find the option to clone the MAC address. Then plug in the router to the modem. Test the connection from both machines. This has been changing out in my neck of the woods recently where cable and DSL providers are registering MAC addresses to prevent any unauthorized or new machines from coming onto the internet connection
What do they pack styrofoam in when they ship it?

After upgrading my WRT160N firmware, I cant access the router at all.!!
After upgrading I cant access the router at all.!!
I just upgraded the firmware to WRT160Nv2_v2.0.03.007_US_code.bin from a download.
I had the CD ver 2.00.2 build 8 on it originally. I upgraded because the router would have the DNS problems everyone is talking about both wireless and wired. I tried the all zeros 0.0.0.0 and that did not work.
Now that I upgraded, I cant get into the box at all. I dont get the log in screen. I have reset multiple times and power cycled through. The ip I am trying to get back in is 192.168.1.1
How can I get this box to respond? Are you able to ping 192.168.1.1 from the wired computer...?
Unplug the modem from the router,hard-reset the router for 1 minute, power cycle the router...Make sure that the computer is connected to the router on the Ethernet port...Now,Click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt...A black box will appear(Command Prompt)...In the Command Prompt window type ipconfig and press 'Enter'...Look for Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection IP Address , Subnet Mask and Default Gateway...
IP Address should be 192.168.1.x, Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1......If you get the above mentioned IP Address, Subnet and Gateway Address then you should ping the Gateway, type ping 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...If it gives you request timed out then disable any firewalls, security software on the computer...
If you get 4 replies then,go to start>>>run>>>and type "//192.168.1.1" and hit enter..If you are able to open the linksys setup page then, connect the modem to the router on the internet port and configure the router as per the ISP settings. -
Cant access Router's Web Based Management anymore
WRT54G v5
All of a sudden, i cant access the web management pages for my router. I have reflashed using the TFTP program and no change. I have tried resetting my router and it doesnt reset. Anyone have any ideas what else to try? What I did was a hard reset... (hold reset for 10 or 30 seconds then while holding, unplug unit then release reset button. After 10 more seconds, plug unit back in.)
Between that and using the TFTP program, I was able to get back into my management screen. You will have to reconfigure your router after that. Be sure, if you have a dedicated ip on your computer, you temporarily set it to obtain everything automatically incase your set ip doesnt correspond to the default settings for your router. Then once everything is back up, you can change you ip settings on your PC back to what you had, if any. -

i cant access internet with new ipad 2 ,i have a netgear dgn 1000 router any ideas.............
More detail please. Assuming you knew how to set up the internet connection, have you tried resetting the iPad and/or rebooting the router?

Cant access to the integrated web browser RG60SE
Hi. I recently bought a RG60SE router. Following the instructions in the quick manual i tried to configure it, but i cant access to the integrated web based configuration utility. I tried access from three diferent pcs with same results. I tried to access connecting only the router and one PC, without ADSL modem, but not results.
I tried to reset, plug, unplug, power off, power on, the PC and the router, in many combinations, but i have zero results.
Im very frustrated, may be im doing something wrong?
I have a one desktop directly connected to ADSL modem:
IP 192.168.1.2
Mask 255.255.255.248
Gate 192.168.1.1
DNS1 200.105.128.40
DNS2 200.105.128.41
Please, i need help,
ThanksThanks for your answer:
Yes i am using http://192.168.1.1
I have an another router D-link dir-400. When this router is resetted, i can see a d-link wireless signal within my notebook. But i can not see anything about MSI router. -
I cant access time capsule hard drive.
I cant access time capsule hard drive. Everything was working before but all of a sudden i get an error msg when double clicking on my network drive which states ' The local device name is already in use'. The time capsule wireless network works fine though. I am using Vista 64.
Reboot the entire network.. everything must go off.. all stuff off.
Restart in order.. modem.. router.. TC (maybe also working as router).. other network stuff.. clients.
Can vista now open the disk?
If not try doing it manually.. in windows explorer type the TC address \\10.0.1.1 for instance.. whatever IP it has. I just used default as example.
If no good, open the airport utility which I hope you have installed.
Make sure the TC name is short no spaces pure alphanumeric.
Make sure workgroup is correct and guest access is on with read and write permissions.
If still no good.. press and hold the reset.. redo the setup.
Later TC firmware is useless for windows users.. the best was 7.5.2 which you should go back to.
Do you have other clients using the TC? Are they all ok?
vista.. shudder.. has one virtue.. it made me give up windows and move to Mac OS. -

"2 routers, one subnet" or "how do I access LAN of Router#1 from R#2"
Hi folks,
First post is a question but I hope I can contribute in the future.
I realize what i really want is a Wireless Access Point but I was in a rush and none are available locally. My need is to provide wireless internet on my upper floor where the DSL connected router in the basement will not reach. Wireless is disabled on DSL Router1 and not required there. I have currently succeeded in this by connecting a second router (WRT110) via ethernet on my top floor and configuring it to provide a seperate subnet. It aquires an address on it's WAN port from Router1 via DHCP and feeds wireless divices on the new subnet with DHCP provided addresses of it's own. NAT is enabled.
--Works fine for accessing Internet.
However,
I need to run a Squeezebox (ethernet or wireless) from Router2. It has to talk to it's server on Router1's subnet. It succesfully receives an address from R2 but will not conenct to the server on the other subnet.
Short question is Can I make this Work and How?
Random thoughts.
Ideally, I wanted to have the WRT110 "existing on" and "providing wireless access to" the same subnet as Router1. I was told it could be done and it makes some sense if I connect them via LAN ports on both and address accordingly, disable NAT, etc... but I can't quiet figure it out. Even when I tell the WRT110 that I want to assign it a static IP from the first subnet, it asks for both a WAN and LAN address. If somebody can describe and how to configure it to simply exist on subnet #1, it would be most ideal.
Otherwise if keeping two routed subnets
I see a route in my routing table for the two subnets to talk but is NAT still occuring on the packets travelling through the WRT110, even when just trying to access the other local subnet? If so, that boggles my mind on the routing statement requirements.
I tried enabling port forwarding (totally demiliterized it) for the server's IP on Router2 but I'm now thinking I should have done it on R1 as thats where the server exists, but would that only aply to traffic out R1's WAN port? Is this even required at all?
Tried to ponder combinations of NAT off & static or enhanced routing but haven't devised a combination that makes sense or works.
If I ping the server from a laptop running from the second subnet, I get destination host unreachable vs. a time out. So it knows it's out there (kinda sorta) but can't talk at IP level? This only tells me that 'maybe' it's possible if I get it the routing set right.
I won't write every combo I tried, hoping that by now you see what I am trying to accomplish and can tell me the best way to do it or that it's not worth the effort.
P.S.
Yes, I have considered a cheap switch just ahead of R2 so that I could keep the Squeezebox on the old subnet where it's happy and also feed the WRT110 to let it happily route mywireless internet traffic.
I also considered returning the WRT110 and ordering a Wireless Access Point via the Internet but I need to provide service for some guests by tomorrow night. Hope someone here can help.
Thanks in advance.Assuming your DSL is connected to Router #1(not linksys) and it's default IP Address is 192.168.1.1(subnet : 255.255.255.0)...Then you should change the default IP Address of Router #2(Linskys - WRT110) to 192.168.1.2(this address should be unique) and disable the DHCP Server on Router #2 and it's Internet Connection type should always be 'Automatic DHCP'...This configuration will work when both the router's are connected using their LAN Ports...Internet/WAN Port is not used when connecting both the routers to each other...
With the above mentioned configuration, computers connected to router #1 will communicate with computers connected to router #2... -

Hi i cant access to my house wifi but to all the others wifiS I can connect. I have restarted my iPhone and my home wifi. What should I do?
What make, model, and version WiFi router do you have?
Is the router firmware up to date?
What type of security is it running? WEP, WPA, WPA2 (WPA2 is recommended, WEP is completely insecure)
Do you have MAC address filtering turned ON? If so, have you added your iPhone MAC address to the permitted list in your router? -
BT infinity installed and cant access secure sites...

Solved!
Go to Solution.Seen this hundreds of times, the most likely cause is CMOS battery in your PC running flat, it means that whenever you unplug your PC it loses the date and time.
SSL certificates are valid for date periods and your PC things it's not in that date period.
First thing to check is your Date/Time -

Continue your troubleshooting with the article below to get access to the iTunes Store.
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time. Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular. Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.

How to access modem via WRT54G?
Hi there,
this might well be the dumbest question ever asked here, but here goes - I can access separately my new AM200 modem or WRT54GL wireless router fine, and when put together I can also access the internet fine, and still access the router.
What I don't know how to do when they are connected:
AM200 -> WRT54GL -> Computer
- is how to access the AM200 from the Computer, when the router is in between. I set the modem's IP address to be different to the router (192.168.2.1), but nothing obvious seems to work.
Like I said, this is probably really basic, but I'd appreciate any adviceThose instructions worked PERFECTLY!!! They should be stickied on every routing site out there. - I allowed the router to serve up IP addresses dynamically, but aside from that stuck to the instructions to the letter. I can now access both the router and modem from the comp, and the modem using PPPoA (I live in the UK) is doing the front-end work.
It amazes me that this info isn't more widely known, but it needs to be. For example, a lot of people think you can't use DD-WRT with PPPoA as it doesn't support it. This is obviously a misunderstanding, as the modem does that end entirely - I am using DD-WRTv23SP2 with a PPPoA ISP and everything is running perfectly.
Thank again for such a life-saving tip! -
I cant access ibooks too after going ios 8 on ipad
lot and lot of problem are coming.

Try a reset ..
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You may have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
If nothing above helped, restart your router then try email.
