X58M - No POST, only beeps

Hi everybody!
Just bought a new machine last friday and i'm still fighting to boot...
This is the config:
Mainboard: MSI X58M
CPU: Intel Core i7 920
Mem: Kingston KVR1333D39S - 3x2GB
VGA: XFX GTX295
PSU: SevenTeam 850Z-AF
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 2x250GB
Just put everything togheter (as factory defaults).
Power it on... Every fan spins like it should. I can hear both HDs spinning either.
But no video. And about 15~20 seconds later I have these three long beeps and nothing happens later.
Already tried changing mem sticks (both place and either manufacter). Nothing!
Tried turning it on without VGA and mems to see if beeps would change but not.
So I'm kind of stuck in those three long beeps that I even don't know what means.
Any ideas?

Test the motherboard outside of the case to verify that the motherboard is not shorting to the case and causing a problem
   •    With only the CPU and heat sink, memory, and video card (or onboard video) connected to the motherboard, place the motherboard on a non-conductive surface and retest the motherboard
   •    Check the case mounting standoffs to verify that they are lining up correctly with the mounting holes on the motherboard.

PC NOT POSTING (NO BEEP ERRORS/CD ROM&FLOPPY = NO POWER)

Before i begin i just want to say that i recently RMA'd my MSI K8n Neo Platinum socket 754 motherboard and they sent me back a refurbished one, this was a few weeks ago..
My setup:
MSI K8n Neo Platinum Socket 754
Windows XP Pro
Athlon 64 3200+ CPU
ATI x800 XT PE vid
SOund blaster audigy sound card
Ultra X-Connect 500 Watt P/S ( Had Antec 430 Watt True Power BEFORE putting in Ultra X-Connect)
Kingston Hyper-X 2x512 RAM
So im using my PC like normal.. it locked up (dont know why). So i reset the system (hard reset).. as soon as i hit reset, the PC shut off. I turn off the power from the back, wait a while and turn it back on. I turn the PC back on and it turns on fine, BUT it doesnt POST. There is no response from the monitor and nothing happens. The PC seems to be running fine however there are no beep errors or anything, nothing is being displayed on the monitor. Also, it seems the TWO dvd-rw drives i have are not getting power(they didnt open when i pressed the open buttons). So i figured maybe my power supply is bad. I had a NEW Ultra X-Connect 500 Watt P/s that wasnt in use so i opened it up and put it in (took out 430 Watt Antec).. After all said and done i turned on the PC and SAME THING. No post, no beep errors, nothing.. cd roms wouldnt open still. So i tried resetting CMOS and samething. MY ram is only a few weeks old and none of the symptoms point to the ram or any other devices. I already ruled out the Power Supply. Im starting to think that MSI sent me another bad board from the RMA.. I just got it only a few weeks ago. What do you guys think?
UPDATE: I removed the IDE cable of the CD-roms that leads to the motherboard and turned on the PC. Now they have power and open and close perfectly fine.. all signs point to mobo.

So I know none of my LED's or switches need to be rotated as they have worked for weeks. Nonetheless I tried it and here is what I found out. When I took the power sw plug out and turned on the power from the back, it still turned on without me doing anything. Infact now that I think about it, everytime i have turned ont he power from the back, the computer has automaticaly turned on without me having to press the power switch.
Thus, I think the power switch thing is shorted and it is always trying to give it the first bit of power. I think the motherboard keeps thinking like it is just being turned on and that is why it is not working. RMA time, unless anyone has got anything else.

FM2-A75MA-P33 - no video/post/bios/beeps.

I built a PC with these parts:
APU: AMD A-Series A6-6400K X2 SFM2
Motherboard: FM2-A75MA-P33
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 4GB DDR3 PC3-14900 CL10 BLS4G3D18ADS3CEU
HDD: Seagate BARRACUDA 500GB 7200RPM 16MB ST500DM005
PSU: Corsair VS350 ATX2.31 350W CP-9020052-EU
When I first turned it on, it got no video, so I assumed it was that the BIOS is too old. I borrowed an external GPU, attached it and was able to get to BIOS. The BIOS version was V11.1, so the APU should work (according to the MSI website). In any case, I flashed it to V11.2 and still no changes. No video/post/bios/beeps when using the onboard graphics.
The BIOS displays the CPU name properly, even with the Radeon xxxxHD in the name, but when I go to the Integrated Graphics Devices Configuration in the BIOS, the only option there is Initiate Graphic Adapter set to PEG and it's grayed out, can't change it.
Not sure if it is relevant, but when removing the RAM it does not beep, neither with or without the external GPU.
Also I have noticed, that without RAM, when the fans speed up and then slow down, the power button has to be long pressed to turn off the PC. But when having the RAM and GPU, when it goes through the boots and sees that there is no OS, it displays a message and can be turned off by a short press on the power button. Same thing happens without the external GPU, but there is no video output, so I assume it does go through the boot process.
I've tried both the VGA and the DVI port, with cables and a monitor that works on another PC, I've also tried to clear the CMOS and flashed bios back to V11.1 (the one the motherboard came with).
I saw somewhere mentioned that the Initiate Graphic Adapter option can get disabled do to overclocking or some other BIOS settings (I have the default settings though). Is there anything I can try changing to enable it?
I am also thinking of installing on OS with the external GPU in it, and then maybe the video will output after it successfully boots.
I guess I could also try reseating the APU, but not sure if that would help.

The external GPU I use is Asus GT 620.
I am not sure if I can boot with the onboard one, as nothing is displayed on the screen when using the onboard one. It might go through the boot process and stop when detecting that there is no OS installed yet. I'll try to see if it boots to LiveCD when I get home or install an OS using the external GPU.
When using the onboard GPU, I do not see anything on the screen.
There are no beeps.

X58A-GD45 won't post, no beep, no signal-black screen

Hello everyone,
Been having troubles with motherboard that I just picked up to replace my old EVGA board since it decided to call it quits. When I start my system, it's a black screen with no post or beeping with the monitors remaining blank.
My system specs are as follows:
i7 930 @2.8GH
Hyper 212+ HSF
6GB DDR3 G-Skill 1600
850 Watt ThermalTake BW
SLI GTX 460 1GB
Seagate 320GB Barracuda
1TB WD Green Edition
Philips DVD/CD Drive
Now, I've tested all of my parts out on a separate machine and they all checked out fine.As for this build, I've tried different PCI-E ports with my GTX 460 GFX cards, with and without my HDD's plugged in, tried different sticks of ram in DIMM slot 0, plugging in and unplugging additional adapters like front header USB and sound, tried reseating all of the power connectors and plugs.
At the moment, the only thing that is on my board right now, is one 2GB stick of DDR3 in DIMM slot 0, CPU, one GTX 460, an HDD and my keyboard.
I've already tried searching the forums for relevant topics and only came up with one that was somewhat relevant

That what I figured he was alluding to. Well, I've removed the mobo from the case and the CPU from the socket. I inspected it a magnifier tool I have - all of the pins appear to be fine; no bending or damage.

During PGI - Error - Posting only possible in periods 2006/12 and 2006/11

I am a new to SAP.
I am testing creating sales order. While posting Goods Issue, I am getting error " Posting only possible in periods 2006/12 and 2006/11 in company code 1000"
I searched and got solutions in SDN- Forum as well as SAP best practice buidling blocks and tried but still the same error is appearing.
I tried the following:
1) Transaction code - OMSY - The details for company code 1000 is:
Year-Period-Fin Year - Period-Fin Year-LM
2006-12     -2006       - 11      -2005     -12
I modify this to Year to 2011- Period to 1-other fields not possible to modify and save, but the changes does not reflect when we open this screen again. It displsys old date.
2) Then I tried Transaction code - MMPV -
I enter the follwoing details
From Company code -1000
To Comnpany code -1000
Period
Year - I tried to enter from 01/2005 to 12/2010 and click execute, i am getting error mesasage that these are not current year.
If i enter 01/2011, it is going to next log page but with errror message that 01/2011 is not current year and 12/2006 is current year.
3) Then I tried - SPRO - Financial Accounting (NEW) ® Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) ® Ledgers ® Fiscal Year and Posting Periods ® Posting Periods ® Open and Close Posting Periods
and entered the follwing data and save.

its not a problem if you are working on IDES.
Enter T code SE16N.
Enter table name MARV. Press enter.
Enter your company code in the required field. Press enter.
Enter   &SAP_EDIT   in the place where you entered the T code. Press enter. Now it is in edit mode.
Execute (click on Clock icon). A new screen appears.
Enter The Current Year: Current Month: Year of the previous Month: Previous month: Last year: Last month of the calendar year. As asked in the screen.
Press enter. Save and come outside.
Please do remember all the time period should be as per your system calendar.
Also do remember this is only workable when you are using IDES for education purpose only. Because skipping so many periods in between can cause problems when you are on real time scenario. Using MMPV is the standard procedure where you close the periods one by one.
Try it.

This is in the ongoing sequence where I am creating everything from the scratch(customers, material, prices etc).So far, I have been able to create and save the salesorder>deliver it>pick the items and then I was going to carry out the PGI and then this happened.
when I use the date i.e(Planned GI) 27-09-2006, I receive the following error

If I use a date as R/3 wants ,say 27.02.2002(Planned GI),I get:-
"Picking date is after goods issue date"...which is obvious.
any day after 27-09-2006, say 28-09-2006(Planned GI), I get :-
"Goods issue date is later than delivery date"...makes sence too
one thing was clear here to me, I can only post in Feb/March 2002, while my delivery date is 27 Sept 2006 . So I am in a classic chicken-egg situation.
where and who is giving this "Posting only possible in periods 2002/03 and 2002/02 in company code 0001" message ? How can I override this thing from the past ?
I thought of playing it smart and change my system date to the year Feb. 2002 , but in the fear that a lot of other things will fall as a result of that, I did refrain from doing so.
Could someone make this PGI succesful for me

As I understand, my invoicing is not yet complete , it's got a number and got saved, but how shall I get rid of that red line message "Missing export data"(foriegn trade data incomplete...was the message while saving the billing document).I would be darn happy if I could just get rid of the foreign data part completely(just want to complete the invoice).Would this be checking off a mandatory rqmt. somewhere in the master data?
and would this also be the reason, why I see no accounting document which should have been on status 'open' by now ?

Diagnosis
The posting date entered is not within one of the permitted posting periods (current period/previous period).
This can be due to one of two reasons:
The correct current period has not been set in the system.
For the system, the first of the entered periods is the current period. At the beginning of a new period, your systems administrator must change the current period in the material master record, using the function "Shift periods". This has not yet been done.
You have entered a wrong date in the field "Posting date".
Procedure
Check the posting date and correct it if necessary. If your input is correct, inform your systems administrator that the "period shifting" (period-end closing) process has not yet been completed.
I have checked OB52, OB29, OB37, MMPV, MMRV. All possible T.codes and threads I tried from SDN itself, still no luck ! In OB52 I have opened 2011 & 2012 year open absolute.
Would like to share MMRV settings :-
Current Period : 11 / 2011
Previous Period : 10 / 2011
Last period in prev year : 12 / 2010
We have India based client so fiscal year variant is Apr to March copied from V3.

periods. Please bear in mind that the valuation data of the previous
period could get affected.
If you decide to proceed with the process, please review the
documentation of program RMMMINIT.
Please also review attached note 70545 regarding the initialization
process. Although this note is NOT valid for your release, it provides
good information on the use of initialization for correction purposes.
Additionally, please review attached note 369637 in this regard as well.

To reserve the parameter use transaction SU01 for the user's name who

IMAC does not boot, only beeps. Video attached

I am trying to figure out why an iMAC does not boot properly.
Memory:1GB (only 1 module in one of the 2 available slots).
Everytime I push the power button I only hear a sound and that's it.
You can hear the HDD spinning but the screen is always black.
Please find the sound that the iMAC makes everytime I turn it on:

Check the ram, if the module has gone bad, has become dislodged or not fully seated in the slot then the iMac will only beep indicating an error and will not startup.

I'm not exactly sure which model iMac you have and so it's hard to give specific instructions, but if you check in the User's Guide that came with it you will find the instructions for replacing and installing ram in your model.
If you no longer have the User's Guide you can find out by using the the following link.

I would appreciate some clarification on the following issue. We are getting a error message. It is a Goods movement error log message. This is how it appreas in the system:

Is this an FI or an MM error? I know we have to use OB52 in FI or MMPV in MM. But when I look in OB52, I see the following:

You are not opened in the month of 09 so you need to open now.but you have small problem .onece any material created or any transaction will be processed you cant open direct to 07 month to 09 month you have to open one by one month it means first open 08 and next open 09 in MMPV this is the process you have to do

T400 Ram Upgrade, 2x4 Gb, only beeps

Hey guys, I've got following problem.
So far I use 6 Gb (4+2) in my T400 2765-52G. The rams are from Kingston (4gb, kvr1066d3s7/4g) and Samsumg (2gb, m471b5673eh1). This works.
I need additional ram so I bought an 8gb stick from Kingston. But the Notebook only beeped (short pause short short short pause short). I realized the G45 does only support more than 4Gb for each slot. So I ordered 4Gb. First from Kingston (KVR16S11S8/4) then from Samsung (M471b5173bh0). They did not work either. Same result as above.
I removed the ac adapter + battery + bios battery, I did a bios update to 3.25 and changed the slots, tried the single module - nothing.
Do you have any ideas?

I never could make DDR3-12800 work in a T400, T500 and X200/s. They will just not boot or give typical error beep sequence 1-3-3-1
DDR3-10600 worked so far, so I would suggest you try to get one of those (avoid the "Value Ram" line from Kingston and the "Value Select" line from Corsair)

MOH not working in cucm only beep sound

HI,
I have an IP Telephony set up running on CUCM 9.1.Publisher and subscriber in a single site deployment model.
Customized MOH were configured and running fine before.Now users are complaining that MOH is not working(both internal and external calls) and only beep sound is hearing when putting on hold .
I have checked the MOH server is registered and I have restart the Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming App service for both pub and sub
But when i am selecting the Sample Audio source its working fine and I can hear the cisco sound on MOH.
I have added another audio source for testing and assigned to the phones but result is same.
Multi cast allowed on the Audio source and its enabled in the MOH server.
Attached the screen shot for MOH audio source and MOH server.
Please advice how to fix this issue.

Beep sound indicates configuration issues, few things to check:
Make sure the DP assigned to the MOH server is set to use G711 between other regions, unless you enabled other codecs in service parameters
Make sure the MOH file is uploaded to all servers
Make sure the MOH server is assigned to MRG/MRGL of the devices needing to connect to it (phones, GWs, etc).
Can you try using unicast vs. multicast to see if that fixes it?

Posting only possible

Hi Profs
I was having a issue where posting was only possible between 2007/5 and 2007/4.
So I used 'mmpv' and one by one moved the posting to 1 -2008.
Now while posting, I get 'posting only possible in periods 2008/01 and 2007/12'.
I guess I have overshot the dates(also evident in 'omsy'). How can I bring the posting back for this month.?

SAP allows only posting into current and previous period in MM.
If you need to post in periods before, then you have to roll the periods back using MMPI , which may cause big trouble and huge effort and a lot of discipline. I would never do that, and would never recommend to do it.
Read the helpinfo in MMPI and search OSS notes on MMPI and you will learn not to do it.

When my user do GI for this month he got error as mentioned below,

Already i have done it but still am not confident.
Also this particular corrections i need to do it in Production system
Please guide which month i need to enter 1st in MMPV,request you to explain step by step.

Hi,
Check in T.code: MMRV and see which period is open for ur Co.Code and back posting is allowed or not.
In MMPV open period 09 with your company code.
Note-1: Check Fiscal Period Variant in OBY6..........is it K4.
Note-2: From FI side check or Now use t.code: OB52 and open the 09, 2009 period in Account Types A, K, D,M, S and specially Account Type u201C+u201D which stands for valid for all accounts type and save. Better consult FICO consultant for OB52 step.

i want to write a validation for a GL 238760 this must only be posted only in KG document type it must not post in other doc type like KR nd KZ
i want to write a validation for this.
in the GGB0 screen which message type shall i select and what steps shall i use for this.

Please go to GGB0...Create a validation in financial accounting at line item level by selecting line item and create a step. It will open 3 further drop down for you. Select the 1st one and proceed as follows
Prerequisites:
BKPF-BLART = 'KG' (here you can make it transaction code specific as well)
Check:
BKPF-HKONT = '23876'
(you can give set of GL account by creating it in GS01 and specifying it here)
Message:
Assign an error message to it with category E.
Please check this will work .

Back posting only possible with same valuation class

Hii, I made changes in valuation class before that i closed all the open po and maintained stock zero using 201 mvt type on 31st March. Now the system is throwing error when Im doing the reversal using MB1A 202 mvt type like "Back posting only possible with same valuation class". But its taking if I take the Posting date to 1st April, and we want to post on the 31st MArch. Please provide the suggestion.

System is behaving correctly..
Suppose you have changed the valuation class from X to Y as on 31.03.2014.
So your valuation class was X as on 31.03.2014.
But now your valuation class is changed as Y. and system will always try to post the valuation class Y for material.
So when you are trying to reverse the entry on 31.03.2014, system shows the error..
In that case, you should change the valuation class as on 30.03.2014 and you should do 201 movement type as on 30.03.2014, and then as on 31.03.2014, you can reverse the entry..
Now you have to reverse the 201 movement type after date 31.03.2014.
