X64 NO MIC. Audigy 4 Codec issue? Teamspeak being us

<SPAN>Hello,
<SPAN><SPAN>
<SPAN> Ok here it is this is what I'm running.
<SPAN>x64 windows xp pro
<SPAN>audigy 4
<SPAN>asus MB
<SPAN>A8N-SLI Deluxe 939<SPAN>
<SPAN>I use Team Speak for gaming purpose. <SPAN>
<SPAN>
<SPAN> The other night as I was playing I noticed my mic stopped working. I tried numerous mics. No dice. <SPAN>
<SPAN>I tried recording no dice. It seems like the SB just doesn?t see the mic. I did some googlein and found numerous topics about the same issue without a fix. I tracked it down to a CELP codec. I know about the mic record btn and all that. I never changed the settings. Just stopped working. <SPAN>
<SPAN>
<SPAN> This has happen before but an update or a reboot fixed the issue. <SPAN>
<SPAN>
<SPAN>But this time is an issue. <SPAN>
<SPAN> The sound is terrible when using Team speak. . This has got to be a codec issue. Can somebody please help me on locating the codec?s for Team speak? From what I read this is an ongoing issue with the Audigy and Team speak..<SPAN>
<SPAN> Not on all systems.<SPAN>
<SPAN>
<SPAN>Thanks for your time<SPAN>
<SPAN>Russ<SPAN>

It is Vista. Doesn't support games that use hardware accelerated surround sound. Try to use the Alchemy software provided by Creative (for a fee for Audigy users, for free for X-Fi ones) if your games are on the ones that are supported - the ones that uses DirectX for sound.Unfortunately Half-Life2 uses a proprietary sound system and is not supported. The link is http://www.soundblaster.com/alchemy/ Warning: STUPIDLY long waiting time till all the stuff on that page is loading! The games that use OpenAL don't need Alchemy, will work fine under Vista.

  • Audigy 2 ZS/ Teamspeak/ Mic Problems/ SOL

I gather from other posts im not the first and probably not the last to have problems with my SB card and Teamspeak Mic function, after MANY painful hours of reading this forum, downloading drivers, reinstalling software and countless tweaks to my SB mixer and Teamspeak options I finally got my Mic to work right. Hopefully my pain will help someone one else, I was ready to give up on my Mic/SB card ever working right till I stumbled on what appears to be the fix to to Mic problem, I made so many changes I will list them all as Im not sure that it isnt the combination of any or all things that made it work,
My set up, front Mic and Headphone jack on computer,
-Go to SB mixer function, above the first volume knob is a red arrow, click on it, it will say digital only output, SELECT this option, turn volume up
-reading left to right on the middle part of the mixer, turn the function ON the first 3, turn off the the following 3.
    - the 6th funtion should be set to microphone, click on red arrow above mic picture and turn on mic boost function.
-Teamspeak setting, go to options screen select "wave" sound, click ok and adjust in and out volumes on settings panel.
This did it for me, I went from no mic, to fuzzy mic, to crystal clear mic after playing with things for 2 days.
I have new faith in my SB card and hope others are smarter than me and figure it out with out all the research good luck.

In the Creative Mixer on the right hand side you should see a separate column with a "Rec" heading. There should be a small upside-down triangle. Click on that and you should get a list. Choose "Analog Mix" which includes Microphone, Line-In, etc. Then to the left, un-mute the source you want.

    Happy New Year to all.
I have installed 2 ZS card. Output works well. I want to record a couple of old vinyl albums. I cant either through Creative Surround mixer or through windows get either a Line-in or microphone input to select from. I have tried everything but this forum. If anybody has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • I am having issues with being kicked off the internet intermittently. ATT says its not an issue with their service. Does anyone have an idea?

I am having issues with being kicked off the internet intermittently. ATT states its not an issue with their service. Any ideas?

Yes it is NOT your internet service. It is Apples OSX. It seems to be happening to older computers trying to run the newer OSX ( Mavericks and newer). I have a 2009 iMac I bought with Leopard installed, I upgraded to Snow leopard 10.6.8 and my computer was running flawlessly. I upgraded to Mountain Lion and I noticed my computer running slower... kind of annoying having to wait longer for everything (start up, browsers opening up, apps opening up, mail opening up and so on) Mavericks came out for free and I was excited to get out of this issue. Well, everything went from bad to terrible! Fast user switching had a glitch with desktop picture resetting to the wave, mail rules didn't work properly and I kept getting kicked off the internet (Absolutely NOTHING wrong with my internet). No one could figure out what was going on or how to fix it, even senior Apple tech's! After 3-4 months of searching, troubleshooting and waiting for a fix, I looked at my Mac Pro running Tiger 10.4.11 with no issues what so ever... that is when I made an executive decision. GO BACK TO SNOW LEOPARD! Since May 2014 I have been running 10.6.8 on my 2009 iMac and it has been smoking fast with NO issues what so ever, especially since I maxed out my memory for Mavericks. So to sum it up: some people might get lucky with old machines running new operating systems, but for the most part, it seems older processors can't keep up with the new sophisticated operating systems. Mavericks... Yosemite... FREE UPGRADE! But you will pay the price

  • No audio on downloaded movies, codec issue???

    Hello,
I hope I am in the right section to post this question, apologies if I am not. I have recently downloaded a few movies and mini series via a torrent website that have saved on my hard drive as avi files. The visual is perfect, however I have no audio. Is there a way to fix this? someone has told me that it may be a codec issue, although I do not know what to do to fix this, or what application I need to retrieve the audio. I have had a look on version tracker, but don't fully understand what the whole codec thing does.
If more info is needed, please post back. sorry if this is a no brainer issue!
I really appreciate any suggestions/info to help me out.
    thanks!

Ok, so now I have another problem. a couple of the previous items I had downloaded were playing fine, audio and all, and now I have gone back to play these movies again to test the sound, and the sound has stopped on these now too! I have no idea what is going on with this. I am using quicktime to playback the movies, if that helps.
    thank you!

  • Frame Rate and Codec issues in Premiere CC exports

    Here is the breakdown.
    My timeline is...
A 24fps HD timeline in a Cineform Codec
    My first SD Export was...
Quicktime / NTSC DV 24p preset
    Result...
Looks interlaced and squshed in QT Player and claims the file is 29.97fps
Looks interlaced but not squished in Windows Media Player unsure what frame rate it thinks it is.
Looks decent in my Premiere timeline and claims it is indeed 23.97fps
2nd Export I tried HD...Quicktime / HD 720p 24fps preset but changed aspect to 1920x1080 with Animation codec
Result... HD footage sounds fine recognizes the images in the clip if you click through it in the source monitor, but wen rendered from yello to green in the timeline, the video just reads Media Pending.
Really need help with this ASAP.  On a harsh deadline.  CC is proving to be more truoble that it was worth upgrading from CS4.

We are sending the most uncompressed SD version in 23.97fps for another person to author on their end with the compression that will accomodate the other tracks on the disc and get the best quality.  We were told to send a QT file at 23.97 since the original file was a 24.0 fps project (nativly shot on 35mm film) BUT the file we exported at 23.97 to send as a test read as 29.97 outside of Premiere.  If I can solve the annomally with the frame rate changing between Premiere and a QT Player window I will be a happy camper.  Has anyone had issues with frame rates being messed up on export and not exporting as the setting you set it on?
We are not authoring the final disc at our end.

  • ISDN C40 codec issue

    Hello,
I am a video teleconference technician with an interesting issue, recently our higher headquarters made changes to our C40 codec. Since this has happened I am able to place ISDN calls and receive audio, but no video. During the call under system information it states that video protocols are off, I am not sure what controls that, as the menu option isn't displayed while not in a call. Our problem seems to be isolated to ISDN calls, as last night I was able to conduct a conference with full video and audio using IP. If anyone has had any issues with this or can provide any guidance on what changes need to be made I would greatly appreciate the help.
    Troubleshooting Conducted:
Changed MTU Rate- Resulted in the Codec being unable to communicate with the ISDN interface
Tested using IP- Full audio and visual
    -David

    Hi David,
We'll need a bit more information on your topology and configuration.  What call control is your C40 connected to?  Standalone, VCS, CUCM?
How is your ISDN connected to your C40?  An ISDN Gateway, a local Ciscl ISDNLink, via some other call mechanism?
Have there been any changes to your ISDN service?  Have you changed providers?  If so, does the new provider know you want to do video, or have they only configured an audio ISDN service?
Also the version numbers of the equipment/software could prove useful to assist with troubleshooting.
    Cheers
    Wayne

  • Could a codec issue be my problem?

Hi Guys, something has occurred, seemingly overnight, and I am trying to troubleshoot the cause.  My workflow sees me render AVI from AE and then convert the AVI to mp4 or whatever in the AME.  The size of my AVI files usally mean a render in AME takes 2 or less minutes.  I have a grunty system so I can play the AVI without hassle.  Last night I noticed the render time in AME was much slower than it should be, I know the render times of these comps and it was considerably slower.  My system resources were not the problem.  Today when I try to play the AVI in QT, the playback is choppy with second increments being skipped. Again this is happening when less than 8% of my system resources are being used.  I have never before not been able to play the AVI smoothly.  All of my drivers are updated.
My OS is Windows 8.1.  CPU is i7 3820, 64G of RAM, Nvidia GTX560, SSD drives for programs, assets and source files etc all distributed onto different hard drives.  I am working with AE CS6 (cloud version) and it is up to date.
I have been researching the internet and see people speaking about uninstalling codec packs and re-installing to fix choppy playback.  I'm not sure whether this is something I should do.  Apart from that I am at a loss as to what might have suddenly caused this.  Any suggestions for where else to look would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Mandy

Hi Rick, from AE it was the default "Best Settings" 1280 x 720, Audio on AVI and in AME the YouTube preset.  I doubt the render settings have anything to do with it - reason being, AVI movies that were rendered previous to this issue and have been watched many times without issue, are now choppy when watched.
As for what has changed, well I asked myself the same.  I changed my keyboard and mouse to wireless.  Also I deleted all my fonts and from another computer with the same OS, I re-installed the default set.
It may not have anything to do with the Adobe suite and more to do with my OS but I thought I'd ask both here and over at Microsoft and see what suggestions might be offered.  I guess worst case I will look to do a clean install but I want to exhaust easier avenues first.

  • Voice class codec issue

    Hi,
I have a sip trunk terminating on a CUBE. On the CUBE, I hard-code the dial-peer 211 with G.729 codec. On an inbound call to a DID terminating on the IP phone, the call negotiated g.729 and completed successfully. No issues.
Now I created a voice class codec with 2 codecs in the following preferences
    voice class codec 1
    codec preference 1 ---> g729
    codec preference 2 ---> g711
    I then apply this to a dial-peer 211.
On an inbound call from the same incoming number to the same DID(same endpoint), this call is now negotiated only at G.711 codec. I verified that I am hitting the same dial-peer by using "show call active voice brief" and checking the pid. It is using dial-peer 211.
My expectation is that the call will still negotiate G.729 and will use G.711 only if the call cannot be completed at G.729.
As a test, I also verified by removing codec preference 2 (i.e.) G.711 from voice class codec 1 and call negotiated at G.729.
BTW, in each scenario, I used the show voice call active compact to verify the call legs and codecs being used.
CUCM version 9.1 and IOS 15.1(4). Any ideas why this odd behavior?
    Regards,
    K iyer

Here is the catch with CUCM. CUCM always prefers and will use the "best available codec" offered. Therefore, when the gateway forwards the setup to CUCM, it would see g711 as a valid option and would use it. Here is more info on the same:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/9_1_1/ccmsys/CUCM_BK_C5565591_00_cucm-system-guide-91_chapter_0101.html#CUCM_RF_RE6237E1_00
    Regions
Regions provide capacity controls for Cisco Unified Communications Manager multi-site deployments where you may need to limit the bandwidth for individual calls that are sent across a WAN link, but where you want to use a higher bandwidth for internal calls. Additionally, the system uses regions also for applications that only support a specific codec; for example, an application that only uses G.711. Use regions to specify the maximum transport-independent bit rate that is used for audio and video calls within a region and between regions; in this case, codecs with higher bit rates do not get used for the call.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager prefers codecs with better audio quality. For example, despite having a maximum bit rate of 32 kb/s, G.722.1 sounds better than some codecs with higher bit rates, such as G.711, which has a bit rate of 64 kb/s.

  • New install with codec issues

    Hello,
I recently purchased the entire Creative Cloud suite of applications including Adobe Premiere.  Everything works correctly however many of the professional level codecs are missing from the aps, ie. XDcam, RED, etc..  It's not possible to generate the sequences, import files, or open CS6 projects that utilize XDcam.  This is a huge problem because our workflow relies on XD footage.  It's as if the programs are stuck in a trail mode and will not unlock even if my named license is associated with the products.  I've done 4 complete uninstalls, run adobe registry cleaner, repackaged three different CC deployments from the admin console, and still cannot get it to work.  Is this familiar with anyone?  I've talked to Adobe Tech Support and was passed around from tech to tech for 2 hours with no solution.  Thanks for any help in advance.
    Bob

So for anyone else with a similar issue, I may have found the solution. First, despite being told the new VMS runs MoCA 2.0 (and the Verizon splitters all saying 2.0 on them), in the Actiontec Router settings, it states that the network is running 1.1, even without the ECB2500C plugged in. So take that for what it's worth.
Secondly, changing the "Ethernet / Coax Channel" from 1150Mhz to 1500 in the router settings has so far completely cleared up all of the previous symptoms. I'll post another update if I see any other weirdness running with these settings, but so far so good.

I tried to Skype with my family last night, and my mic and cam did not work. They did when I first got this computer (laptop). For some reason, they did not work last night. I could hear and see my family, but they could not hear nor see me.

You mean it Failed? uhmmm. It could be a hardware issue but try to reload your OS first and see if it rectifies the issue. (make sure you have a backup of your data ). See How to clean reload the BlackBerry 10 OS or BlackBerry PlayBook OS using BlackBerry Link

  • Audigy 2 Isn't Being Detected Correc

This is a weird problem that I can't find out anything about anywhere online.
Basically I left home for a week and when I got back my sound was very crackly, with some movies and songs not playing at all. I restarted my PC to see if it helped after checking the speaker connections and testing them with my onboard sound.
After the restart the SoundCard refused to work at all. I reinstalled the drivers and ran Creative Diagnostic which then resulted in the card apparently not being detected.
I did a manual install as recommended on the Creative Knowledge Base which resulted in the following items being detected in Windows:
    - PCI Input Device
    - System Interrupt Device (x2)
    - Mass Storage Device
    - VGA Device
None of these had appeared before and bearing in mind that the only PCI device I own is the Audigy 2 Platinum (my graphics are PCI-E) this REALLY confuses me (the EMU Processor is definitely present when using other diagnostic programs: the SoundCard does exactly the same thing on 2 of my friends PC's by the way).
Any help would be greatly appreiciated as the card is bearly 3 months old and there is no way it could have been damaged during my time away (locked door, unplugged at the mains).
UPDATE: Since getting the latest drivers I have sucessfully installed the soundcard but the above items are still listed in device manager and I still recieve absolutely no sound at all!? PLEASE HELP!!

no, i am just talking about the display attached to the computer. It doesn't seem to always do it either, this time when i started up it was ok, but sometimes when i start up or when it has been sleeping for a while it comes up without detecting the screen. the first time that it happened it was set to like 800x600 or whatever and it was all stretched and pixelated and i changed it to 1400x900, because the default 1440x900 wasn't listed and now when it doesn't detect the screen, it goes to that. Then like i said i have to go into system prefs and click detect screen for it to bring back the original settings. it is very odd, has anyone else experienced this problem?
