XI within ECC

Hello all,
The client is upgrading from 4.6 to ECC 6.0 and installed a new XI system within the ECC system on the same server. Please give me some information on what RFC destinations are required and anything related to my case.
By the way, I am going to use JDBC adapter to connect the legacy system to ECC through XI. (replacing the ABAP interfaces between the old 4.6 and legacy system)
Many thanks in advance.
Ramesh.

Hi,
U need to follow the below steps:
1) Creating RFC Destinations in the ABAP and Java Environments
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/a0/40084136b5f423e10000000a155106/frameset.htm

3) maintain the RFC destination which points to R3 system for IDOC.
refer the below configuration for IDOC:

  • How to conditionally encapsulate fields within ECC 6.0

I'm interested in strategies to conditionally encapsulate fields within ECC 6.0.
The requirement would be to mask specific fields (e.g. Vendor Name) within a particular data set (e.g. a particular Company Code) by default while allowing those fields to be visible by some users.  The key is that we do not want to mask these fields globally, nor do we want them masked for every user.  Even more important, we do not want to modify all the transactions and programs where these fields are available.
I know one option is to add custom code at the Domain level of the fields.  We're currently investigating this further to see if it will satisfy all our needs and perform well.
I'm looking for any other options we should explore, including 3rd party options.
    Thanks,
    ~Matt

And from what i understand, the object doesnt get checked during the creation of master records too - its primarily to control the changes made on certain fields of the master record.

thanks, Alex. This need could in all fairness end up with that.... a transaction variant

  • Communication between ECC and CRM

    Hello,
I am in phase of showing communication between SAP CRM 5.0 and ECC 6.0.
I am struggling with finding some simple transactions which are common in both, with which I can show correct connectivity between ECC and CRM.
I need to save some data from CRM and access the same via transaction within ECC, save some data via ECC and access it via CRM. I already established RFC link between ECC and CRM.
Probably communication between SD module of ECC with CRM.
Can you please help me out with this, a clue/correct direction will be of very helpful. Basically I want to know, what transaction I can use for same.
    Any help is really appreciated.
    Thanks
    -Vishal

    Hi Glenn,
I followed all steps in document mentioned above. In the end during execution of transaction I selected appropriate source and destination, when I click start transfer objects, it gets stuck in waiting phase.
Among those steps I was not able to perform step#10. Creating Subscriptions for OLTP. My ERP is not displaying this option under subscription wizard. Should it be reason for not starting transfer ? I also do not see ERP logon screen when I select transfer.
My another question is when transfer will complete, where I'll be able to see transferred objects within ERP database ?
    Thanks

  • Determine linked SRM system in ECC

    Hi All,
I need to be able to determine the linked SRM system from ECC in order to call a function module in SRM to return the URL for SRM to ECC to allow a workitem in ECC to contain a link to SRM.
Table BBPC_RFC_DEST seems to hold a link but I've never seen this table used, does anyone know what this table is used for? The config help says:
Definition of RFC Connections for Resource-Related Billing
    Use
In this IMG activity, you define which connected SRM Systems are relevant for resource-related billing.
Enter the logical system and the RFC destination.
    Requirements
The connected SRM System must be Release 5.0 or higher.
but would populating this table alone activate something else?
Alternatively does anyone else have any other suggestions for retreiving the URL for SRM from ECC other than creating a custom table to hold the information.
    Regards
    Chris

    Hi all,
perhaps I need to clairfy my question.
I know how to find the URL in SRM, my requirement is to be able to work out the URL of the linked SRM system from within ECC.
I have a couple of ideas such as call a function mdoule in SRM to read the user arrtibutes which will give me the URL for system. To do this I need to first determine the RFC destination for the linked SRM system, I think I can do this by populated table BBPC_RFC_DEST in ECC. However I sdon't know if popualtign this table in ECC will have any other implications?
Does anyone know what the implications of populating table BBPC_RFC_DEST in ECC arE?
or does anyone have an alternative soltuion for determining the URL for the linked SRM system from within ECC?
    Regards

  • Replicate customer and vendor from ECC to CRM

    Hi experts,
Is it possible to replicate customers and vendors extending the same BP in CRM?
If i had one customer in ecc that is a vendor too, can I configure or implement some badi in middleware to replicate changes to the same BP in crm?
    Best regards,

Edited by: Caíque Escaler on Jan 12, 2011 4:57 PM

If I recall from my ECC days, this field is used for back to back orders i.e. Sales Order creating a back-to-back Purchase Order. As such, there is no relevance for this data within CRM, so I would not expect it to be maintained there. It only has relevance within ECC (Sales & Purchasing).

  • RSA1 - ECC 5.0 Backend "Source System" shows up as a BW System?????

    Hello,
I'm working in RSA1 on my development BI system (BID) building a source system connection to our R/3 (ECC 5.0) (DEV) backend system. I've got the logical systems defined and assigned, clients opened, and users built.
    Here's the issue:
When I build the connection to the backend ECC 5.0 system, it's coming up as a BIW system (see Message Test below - that' from the log)
My question is - is it seeing it as a BW System, versus an R/3 System, because in ECC 5.0 BIW is integrated / delivered within ECC 5.0?

  • Alerts from ECC

Chek these... i have a doubt which is bold below.....
    Alert Rules
Message-based alerting is used to notify about errors that occur during message processing. It is based on the alert framework, among other things, so you can leverage the functions it provides, such as sending the alert by e-mail, fax, or SMS.
By defining rules within the RWB, you can filter the monitored messages according to error code, error category, and message header attributes for sender and receiver. For instance, if a customer only wants to be informed immediately when his core business scenarios fail, the message-based alerting can be restricted to the respective interfaces only.
    -     Use RWB to define Alert Rules within PI
    -     Use ABAP for defining rules within ECC and generate an alert from ECC to PI by passing the right variables.
    My question is
how do to this.....how to define rules within ECC and generate  an alert from ECC to PI by passing the right variables...?
any idea guys....i am going with ALRTCATDEF...

  • To use SRM Catalog from ECC

    Hi All,
there is a way to use the SRM catalog from ECC system?
Can I buy items from ECC system selecting them from SRM catalog?
    Thanks in advance.
    Antonio.

    Hi Antonio,
If I have understood your question correctly - you are looking out to buy products within ECC system using SRM system
If this is the case, you can do 2 things-
    1. You can replicate all ECC products to SRM and buy them from standard SRM shopping cart functionality; wherein a search functionality would be avaialable to find out a perticular replicated backend product. Regarding maintenance of prices for these products- you can use 'interlinkages' withing SRM. You can maintain separate price of different vendors for a same product using interlinkages.
    2. I am not sure about CCM but if SAP MDM is in your scope along with SRM, then you can replicate all ECC products as standard catalogs items to MDM from ECC. This would require XI as a middileware. Once replicated you can use these catalogs from buying purpose withing SRM
    Hope this helps you.
    Best Regards,
    Amit

  • ECC BUPA BDT: setting default CAM "Communication language"

    Hi,
I thought I'd better ask for help before I'm starting to feel like I'm loosing sanity... My system is NW 702 SAPKB70211, IS-UT 605 SAPK-60508INISUT, all screens and behaviours from Transaction BP.
I'm trying to set the defaults for Central Address Management (CAM) Communication language and country for Organizations and Groups (and Correspondence language for Persons). I've done the ISDAT BDT "Event" FM reccomended so often on SCN, setting the busdefault-country and busdefault-langu using  BUP_BUPA_FIELDVALUES_SET, and all seems well - the Address tab at least:
    - for Person:
    - for Org and Group:
The trouble starts when one tries to create Adress from Address Overview of Org or Group - the default language is just not there, and neither is country:
It turns out that, after defaults have been taken over in BUA_BUPA_PBO_BUA110 once, SAP standard resets (why, Hasso, why on earth would your guys need to do something like that.!?! ) the busdefault-langu if the BP type is other than Person (and telnr, faxnr_call, mc_city1, country, mc_street, post_code1, house_num1 for all types). In my desperation I even tried to use the SET/GET parameter SPR from FORM d0100_read_address of LSZA1O02. The trouble is - BUPA calls the thousand and one global flags CAM monstrocity so that g_address_is_optional is always set.
So... before I start controlling what of their glabal data for BUPA defaults SAP logic can or can not modify via implicit inhancement in BUP_BUPA_FIELDVALUES_SET (if the logic is fine with taking those over once per session, why not n times...) does anyone know a straightforward and reliable way of defaulting CAM language and country (for organization and group)?
I've searched OSS up and down but found nothing appliccable that would be helpful.
    Thank you and cheers
    Janis

Ok, since the standard logic for BP default values is barely more than "useless" (defaults taken over only once, if the transaction mode for BP is create... meaning, they will not be taken over if you create an address in change mode of BP...), I ended up with:
    - implicit enhancement at the begin of BUP_BUPA_FIELDVALUES_SET protecting (SAPLBUD0)-gl_busdefault against overwriting via this FM (it obviously can't protect from changes within SAPLBUD0 itself... of which there are plenty);
    - implicit enhancement at the end of BUP_BUPA_FIELDVALUES_GET, delivering e_busdefault from the state protected within my singleton;
    - implicit enhancement at the beginning of ADDR_EXP_SUBSCREEN, setting the VALUE(SUGGESTED_VALUES) from busdefault state protected within my singleton for ADDRESS_GROUP 'BP' (I shouldn't really be changing input parameters inside the FM, I know, I know...) AND pushing the protected state back into (SAPLBUD0)-gl_busdefault via BUP_BUPA_FIELDVALUES_SET...
The latter I needed to fight against standard logic loosing default country for Persons if one navigates to Address overview and deletes the standard address...
The reason I'm going to such lengths to set this stuff programmatically rather than via SHD0 transaction variants or something similar... I don't want to have to find every transaction within ECC that permits to edit BP and create variants for them; I don't want to have to adjust those variants when something changes in dynpros.
I'm thorougly fedup with BP and ECC and am ready for "R/4" (or whatever replaces it)
    cheers
    Janis

  • BUPA_REL BDOC's from ECC to CRM  BP  Contact PersonRelationship DATES wrong

    Hello  SDN community,
BUPA_REL BDOC's - from ECC to CRM  - BP Contact Person Relationship (BUR001)  -  Valid From & Valid To dates are not replicating correctly.
    Within ECC,
when a Business Partner's Contact Person relationship (BUR001) is modified, such that one relationship is ended
and the "Valid To" relationship is set to  todays date (ie. 20/01/2012).
AND  then another Contact Person relationship is created for the BP, with a Valid From date  that is  set  to tomorrow  (ie. 21/01/2012) and
the Valid To date is set to  31.12.9999.
THEN  the BDOC processing occurring in CRM  is setting the relationship dates in CRM incorrectly.
ie. The VALID FROM date is set to 01.01.01 and
the VALID TO date is set  to 31.12.9999.
Does anyone have any ideas/solution for this or a similar experience?
    Thanks in advance
    Andrew Clarkson

    Hi, Andrew Clarkson
1630644 - No validity period in standard contact person relationship
    This is SAP standard behaviour
Due to technical reasons, the partner function assignments are not time-dependent and the validity period of the contact person relationship cannot be considered by the automatic partner determination in the CRM applications. Therefore the maintenance of the start and end for the contact person relationship in CRM is deactivated in the standard system.
A possible workaround is to use a customer-defined relationship category (copy of standard), which can be customized without any limitations.

    Denis

  • BI features available in ECC

    Hi,
If anyone is aware of the usage of BI feature within ECC itself, without going for a BI server, please let me know.
    Thanks
    Madhu

    Hi,
If your BI system is Live then I would recommend that you clear down the Delta loads before upgrading your R/3 System as you could lose some delta's if you don't.
Concerning GL, just use the new datasources as they are linked to the flexible GL in ECC 6.0.
    Thanks,

  • ECC TO APO Master data CIF

    Hi Gurus,
Can any one please let me know how we can bring all plants as locations in APO from ECC after changing the plant nodes in ECC?
I mean to say that is there any enhancements or any activations available in APO 7.0
Please let me know what master data need to pull for  PPDS implementations?
It will be really great if any one can answer it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raj

    Raj,
It is all a standard process.  You select, within ECC, which plants (optionally you can select ALL plants) will be replicated in SCM.  You then create and activate the plant Integration Model (optionally, you can create multiple Plant models, some  smaller companies like to create one model per plant to help during troubleshooting).  No additional programming is required.  The Core Interface (CIF) then takes over the task of exchanging the appropriate information between SCM and ECC, using a Queued Remote Function Call interface (qRFC).
If you are unhappy with the standard CIF functionality, there are standard enhancements to allow your programmers to modify the way in which the CIFs work.
Below are the basic Best Practice Building Block config guides for Connectivity and Replication.  Although these are config guides, there is also quite a bit of explanation.  If you follow these guides, your plants will appear in SCM as locations.

  • Removal of EAN code / update problem in ECC

    Hi,
I have a problem regarding EAN codes within MDM. If a material is created within MDM and a EAN code assigned to the material and the records is syndicated to ECC it all works fine.
Now later we find out that the EAN code is to be removed and left blank. When syndicating this change to ECC the material is not updated.
It works fine when changing the EAN code but not when removing the EAN code.
If you do it manually within ECC you get a warning and then the EAN code is removed. I know you also have to mark a main EAN code within the additional data -> Additional EANs and ECC assigns this automatically if you change EAN codes and automatically removes this when removing the EAN code.
What is needed to syndicate a removal of EAN code to ECC from MDM?
    Kind regards
    Henning

  • ECC and BW in the same system - Gotchas?

From the documents, and from the information from SAP, it appears that BW 3.5 can be installed into an ERP 2004 / ECC 500 system. Does anyone have any experience with this during the ECC 5 rampup?
I have a client that is considering this and would like to know of any gotchas before we hit them.
For instance the documents mention you need to tune the Oracle database with the parameter "star_transformation_enabled=true", which is normally used in a BW system.  What impact, if any, will that have the ECC side of things?

    Hi John,
Just to respond to your post and clarify some of the areas.
    1. The mySAP ERP 2004 ECC 5.0 and it's internal SAP BW is <b>not</b> an MCOD implementation. The SAP BW is internal with the ECC (same instance, same database schema, and same database. Whereas MCOD is different instances, different schemas, but same database. One important point is that MCOD and mySAP ERP 2004 fully support three tier architecture.
    2. MCOD was <u>not</u> recommended for a mix of OLTP and OLAP applications on all databases until recently (e.g. recommended for SAP R/3 Enterprise and mySAP SRM but not SAP R/3 Enterprise and SAP BW). This has recently  changed where a combination of OLTP and OLAP is now supported: See http://service.sap.com/mcod or see SAP note 712777.
    3. SAP BW Performance: In a mySAP ERP 2004 ECC 5.0 system with the internal SAP BW functionality active, the system must be configured for both the transaction processing and OLAP functions. This configuration must include load balancing if you have high usage. Without load balancing you are unable to target activities to specific servers or separate different user groups. Obviously if you have only one server load balancing is not available. It is strongly recommended to use the three system configurations for SAP ERP applications and SAP BW.
    4. Automatic multiple Instance shutdown:
For MCOD this is not the case that shutting down one system in your MCOD installation will also shutdown your other MCOD systems; this only happens if you also close the database (remember it is the only part that this shared). The instances can be started and shutdown independently.
For the internal SAP BW within ECC 5.0 you have "one system" so if you shut it down, you really shut it down.
    5. Impact of applying patches or doing client copies:
For MCOD systems, the systems are independent and can be patched and administered independently. The only common part is the database. The database maintenance and patching does affect all the connected MCOD systems. For processes like system copies, these are also independent of the other systems. Obviously if you share the same server for the different systems you need to take care with CPU and memory usage of these functions.
As SAP BW within ECC 5.0 is the same system, you have to patch the system all at once (recommendation is to use SP-Stacks). A SAP_BASIS support package applied to ECC is also applied to SAP BW at the same time. With regard to client copies, client copies are only supported for ERP 'OLTP' clients (not for the SAP BW client).
    6. "The headaches just are not worth it....especially since server prices are low…"
I would not totally agree with this comment. For mySAP ERP this low price server argument also works for adding more app servers to ERP and doing load balancing. The use of MCOD or the internal SAP BW within ECC will be made on a number of factors by the customer with different weighting being applied to each of the Pros and Cons.
The new "internal SAP BW within ECC 5.0" gives customer's system architects more options and increases the flexibility of the total solution in general (delivery of a centralized EDW, deliver of operation reporting, deliver of application or organization specific datamarts to name a few). With more options and flexibility, more decision points need to be reviewed and analyzed which can be a good thing.
    I hope this helps,
    Mike.

  • SAP IS-Auto Vs ECC

    Hello Forum,
I am trying to understand the features and additional functionalities offered by SAP in IS-Auto variant from Production planning and control perspective. I am gone through the release notes but don't see much additions apart from JIT.
    Any suggestions ?
    Cheers
    Sam

check below sap help file link , you may find few more enhancements related to IS auto
SAP Library - SAP for Automotive
Also specify what's basis of your comparison between this two?
SAP PP is a just module in ECC, and within ECC you have option to use PP module for many different business processes including process industry too & IS-Auto is whole Box design only for Auto.
    Thanks
    Ritesh
