Xoom debug from FB requires Wi-Fi, why not USB?
Hello:
I am trying to publish a very simple app to my Xoom from FB. I have burrito and hero and it works in the emulator. When I try to debug to the device I get the following:
The Flash Builder debugger failed to connect to the running application.
Ensure that:
1. For in-browser applications, you are running the debugger version of Flash Player.
2. For debugging on a mobile device, you have a reliable WiFi connection to the device, and port 7935 is open on your machine's firewall.
Device connection help
My desktop is on a secure local network and the company wi-fi is ment for leasure. We don't want hackers to connect to our network so it's two seperate connections.
Is there a way to use Wi-Fi so I don't have to argue with our company network guy and switch my connections when I need to access stuff on the local network?
USB debugging for Android will be included in the next release.
In the meantime, if the Xoom can act as a wireless hotspot, you can connect from your desktop directly to the device wifi and not have to deal with your network guy at all.

I just got an iPhone 5, and my backup won't restore apps from my iPhone 4. Why not?
I backed up my iPhone 4 immediately before initializing/installing my iPhone 5. iPhone 5 went through all of the procedural rigmarole of a new set-up, and some things did transfer over (ie, settings, pics, txts, contacts, etc...). However, NONE of my apps made it over. Not a single one. Why not?
EDIT 1: None of my music made it over, either. We're talking 2,000+ songs.Great question...that was one of my concerns. I back up to two different computers. One is a Mac, and long story short, I can't update via that comp because of outdated OS (needs new iTunes, which needs new OS, etc...). So the music is on THAT computer, not the one from which the new phone was initialized.
This brings up a new question - I just ordered Snow Leopard, which I'll have by Thursday. I'll install that onto my Mac, download updated iTunes, and then update my phone. Will the music then transfer over? -

So it's widely understood that USB external drives are no good for editing on a Mac. Borrowed quote from an earlier post that I found:
"Recognize that USB is not recommended for use as an editing drive - this is why: while capturing is a relatively simple 3.6MB/sec write, editing involves multiple file reads at the same time which requires a much higher sustained through put - a sustained effort that USB can not reliably provide. If your editing is simple cuts only with one track of video and not very long, you may get away with it but the odds are decidedly against it working without dropped frames, stuttering and so on."
But if thats the case, why does USB work fine with PC edit systems??
I was wondering if anybody can explain once and for all why PC's can edit with USB external HDs but Macs can't? I've searched a lot but cant find the answer to this..This information is from the APTS book "Optimizing Your Final Cut Pro System" Page 386:
USB
The Universal Serial Bus is in many ways the successor to the older Apple Desktop Bus: a serial bus for the connections of various accessories, like mice, keyboards, and even storage devices. USB drives, like FireWire drives, aren't USB-native, but use bridges between ATA or SATA drives and the USB connection running back to the Mac.
USB 1.0 and 1.1, the original versions, top out at 12 Mb/second, for a piddling 1.5 Mb/second transfer speed. Hi-Speed USB 2.0 runs at a more respectable 480 Mb/second, giving it 20 percent more bandwidth than FW400, at least in theory.
In practice, USB suffers from being a CPU-driven protocol; the controlling computer has to be much more involved in data transfers over USB than over FireWire. Thus, sustained transfer rates tend to be slightly lower on Hi-Speed USB 2.0 than on FW400. And that's in the best case, when a fast computer is being used and isn't doing anything else; if the Mac is busy doing other things (like rendering a real-time effect and displaying the output in the Canvas), performance falls off even more.
Hi-Speed USB suffers just like other multiple-speed buses do: plug in one 12 Mb device, and the entire bus slows down to 12 Mb. Fortunately, each USB 2.0 port on the Mac has its own internal hub, so you can segregate 12 Mb and 480 Mb devices from each other just by plugging them into different ports.
USB is fine for offline data backups and for moving projects from system to system, but it's simply not efficient enough to be the interface of choice for media drives. Although some brave souls have made Hi-Speed USB 2.0 drives work for DV editing without seeing too many dropped frames, it's just not robust enough for video work, especially not when FireWire is available. -

When I try to download 'Pages' from iTunes, an error displays 'Application Not Compatible. This application requires iPhone 5.0 Software Update' WHY? This keeps happening.
I sounds like you have the first generation (1G) iPod Touch with an iOS earlier than 2.0, Yu can identify your ipod here:

You can identify your iOS version by going to Settings>General>About and look by Version. Yu can update ti iOS 3.1.3 (the lated for the 1G) by this link. It is a paid update. You may have to try another browser to get he sublink to work correctly.

The SR is still required.
What is happening is your "Bundle By Name" is replacing all of the fields of the cluster, not just the value coming out of the case structure. So to maintain the cluster stuff you do in earlier iterations you can either...
1) Put the "Index array, Bundle by name, and Replace array" inside the case structure and ONLY bundle the value you are setting in that iteration. (as you will see Tim post shortly)
OR
2) Move the Index array before the Case, unbundle all of the fields and feed teh case structure and run them across the case so that ALL of your output tunnels come from the coresponding input tunnel EXCEPT for the filed you are trying to set.

Can I back up my iPhone 4S to my ipad 3 (64 gb)? I do not have a computer running Mountain Lion. Our desktop still runs Tiger, so I purchased the 3rd generation iPad with 64 gb thinking it had had plenty of room to backup my iPhone photos. I used a camera connection kit and transferred about 1100 old photos from my camera roll on my iPhone to my ipad. I then deleted pictures from my iPhone and now my camera roll has only 357 photos. However, in the Settings, under "About" it says I have 2147 photos. Why? I only have a total of 216 photos in all my albums. However, now I don't have enough space in iCloud to backup either device. Why not? Any help, any advice, appreciated please! I spent a long time on the phone with Apple today and they couldn't solve the problem.

iCloud only give so much space for free storage, then if you exceed the limit of 5gb you have to pay for additional storage. -
I have two inconviniences with fire fox..
1)when i want to go another from a tab,it shows firefox not responding, for a while then opens that tab!this is embarrassing me a lot by taking so much time!!why it happens?

I just recently upgraded from a 4S to a 5C. I backloaded the 5 from Itunes and now everytime i plug into itunes, it asks if I want to set up as new or restore from a previous backup. Why is it doing this. I did it twice yesterday..... In addtion, those are the only options I have. I cannot do anything else unless I choose one of the two. Zero options. Phone works fine though.
I figure that either of those options will result in losing all SMS and data created since the last backup. Not a major loss, but ** annoying when nothing has changed and the time it will take to restore.
When was the last time you synced your iPhone with iTunes since the backup is updated as the first step during the sync process?
Is there anyway to recover this WITHOUT having to do a full restore or set up as new?
In a word, no.
If I do restore or set up as new, how do I know it's not going to do the same thing tomorrow (like a few other forums threads I've read indicate might happen)?
There is no way to know for certain but I've never experienced the same in the first place. I venture to say having to do this is the exception rather than the rule. -
I downloaded Mail Update for Mac OS X 10.5.6 and was told it could not be installed because it was from an unidentified developer. Tried installing download from MailUpdate & advised the disk did not meet the requirements for update. Expect it's due to being at 10.9.1. Mail is still teetering between dysfunctional and non-functional. Advice?
I'm not sure what "Mail Update for Mac OS X 10.5.6" is. Mac OS X 10.5.6 is Leopard, a system that is quite old at this point. There have not been any Mail updates for Leopard in quite some time. If you are trying to install some old Mail update for Mac OS X 10.5.6 in Mavericks, that won't work.
If you are trying to install the Mavericks Mail update manually, that's not necessary if you have updated through the App Store. If the App Store shows no updates, you don't need this. (The error message doesn't make sense, and may indicate some other problem with your system, assuming that you were downloading this update from Apple's site.)
I'd advise you to start a new topic in the Mavericks forum and describe the problems you are having with Mail. Be sure to include specifics, but try to avoid speculating on causes, as responses that may be related to an inaccurate assumption on your part can cloud the issue. -

Simply because your Explorer/Finder only takes into account the file names and dates of your files.
For instance, in Windows, you have to tell the explorer to sort by 'date taken' otherwise the default sort orders are file dates or file names.
If you have given a 'custom' sort order to your albums, the only way for the Explorer to sort in the same way is to set the custom sort order in the album, export to a new folder with the 'rename' option - same starting text string plus order. -
May be slightly simple question from a new Mac user: Why can't I quit safari? I cannot quit it from top menu bar neither to do it from dock? All other apps are working normally.
Or you can actived the right button on your magic mouse and click on they icon in the dock. then you select "stop" and it's out of your dock.

Hi,
i build a JATO application that deployed as a war file and run
perfectly on an external Tomcat.
But running this app on the integrated Tomcat of the JBuilder tool
results in the following error :
Application Error - javax.servlet.ServletException: Invalid reqest -
request handler "Login" not found
On that way, debugging the application is not possible.
Any idea what's wrong ?
I've heard there is a deployment tool document ? Where is it ?

None of our team has experience running JATO apps in JBuilder. The main
thing to check when running in an IDE is that the web.xml is properly
registered. Because you've received a JATO error, I assume it is in your
case. Therefore, it must be something else.
The error you sent means that the lookup for the LoginViewBean class failed.
This is probably a silly question, but are all of your classes compiled and
under the /WEB-INF/classes directory? Any other reason your application
classes might not be found?
