Zac commands on linux satellite server

Since I'm dumb, where does one go about running the zac commands on the linux satellite server?
The docs just say to run zac cdi ss and whatnot and I can't find it in the docs (ie, you have to go to like /opt/novell/something)

Nevermind, found them on the scenarios on page 5 of 8 (AFTER they have you run the commands on page 2).
I'll see if this can be added to the actual documentation as I still don't see it in the docs anywhere.

  • Using ?import:file? command in a linux Enterprise server

    Hello.
I'm with a problem with a template. I never had a client that use linux as OS in enterprise server.
I work with embedded bi publisher in JDEDWARDS and usually i use this command to call dinamic footers and never had a problem. For example
<?import:file:///\\10.153.2.86\BIP\R5543501\footerlastpage.rtf?>. This customer is in linux and dont know nothing about linux but i think that the problem is in this command because linux dont use " \\ " to perform this command \\10.153.2.86\BIP\R5543501\footerlastpage.rtf.
Someone know how i can solve this problem? i tried something like this ( <?import:file://///10.153.2.86\BIP\R5543501\footerlastpage.rtf?>) but still not working and cant find much information in internet about this.
    Any help is appreciated

    Hi Paulo,
You can import subtemplates this way:
    <?import:http://myservername/subtemplates.rtf?> (access over HTTP)
    or
    <?import:file:///mydirectory/subtemplates.rtf?> (access over File System)
(Notice: http uses two forward slashes // and file uses three /// )
So in your case try this: <?import:file:///10.153.2.86/BIP/R5543501/footerlastpage.rtf?>
Another thing to make sure is set is this:

  • Read_image_file command does works on Linux application server

    Hello!
I have a form with a new_form_instance Trigger I wrote the read_image_file trigger to read a GIF file in an image item.It works fine on windows XP(development machine).I copied the GIF file to the same location where my fmx files are there in Linux application server.I copied and compilied my fmb file in linux application server. No compilation error is there. But when I run form from Linux the form hangs and my read_image_file command is at new form instance Trigger.I have checked the case sensitivity of the file and the permission etc in Linux. In windows Development machine the form runs successfully. What could be the problem. Please help.......
    Jayashree

    For me, attempting the following:
      READ_IMAGE_FILE('bullet_ball_glass_blue.gif', 'GIF', 'IMAGE7');
    gives this error:
FRM-47109: Cannot locate image file bullet_ball_glass_blue.gif
    Changing my command to:
      READ_IMAGE_FILE('bullet_ball_glass_blue.gif', 'URL', 'IMAGE7');
    loads the image successfully.
If you truly are not getting an error message (mine appears in the status bar), then perhaps the file is being found, but the image format is not recognized or otherwise incompatible. Test this by loading one of the the images that load successfully into your iconic buttons. If that image loads successfully into your image item, fix the problem GIF image. (Recreate or open & resave with a graphics program, etc.)
If this does not appear to be the problem, the only things I can think of are for you to confirm that, in formsweb.cfg:
      1. The archive_jini entry includes your image JAR
      2. If imageBase=DocumentBase, change to imageBase=codebase
The second change may temporarily break your iconic buttons. This can be fixed by updating the buttons' Iconic Filename properties specifying only relative paths found within the JAR. Since my image is stored in the root of my JAR, no path need be specified. Had I placed my image in a subdirectory within my JAR, named images, my call would have to be changed to the following:
      READ_IMAGE_FILE('images/bullet_ball_glass_blue.gif', 'URL', 'IMAGE7');
I'm not sure whether any of these suggestions will help, but since I had no problems, I suspect it's simply a matter of differing configurations. The two items that I listed are the only two likely differences I could think of.

  • Linux satellite 10.3.4: ZMD.RefreshHandlerException warning

    Running ZCM 10.3.4.
Both our satellite servers suddenly started (during my holidays, where no changes were made) getting a warning. It occours every hour at Refresh.
Both satellites are running Linux 64 bit. One is SLES 10SP2 the other is SLES 11.
    The warning is:
    Full Message:
Unexpected exception received when refreshing handler ISSTFTPContentHandler(PartialRefresh): nullZMD.MessagePassedIsNull
    Additional Information: None
    Severity: Warning

    Probable Cause URL: None
    Log ID: b1319b1320eb94cb9fb378712d545349

Anybody knows what could be causing this? Found a few old threads (2010) in the forum - but no solution. Have tried running some commands on the satellites:
    zac satcc
    zac cvc
    zac cchk
    zac satrc
Both cvc and cchk reported that every thing was ok. Also tried restarting both satellites. The primaries that the satellites refer to is also OK and have also had their services restarted.

Hi all: having a bit of an issue with a satellite server. I decided to completely remove all roles from one of our sat servers, un-register it, remove the agent, and reinstall. All fixed. For some reason, after about 2 hours I was able to register them.

    Hi
Incase if you find any server related error like "FRM-92101" happening on READ_IMAGE_FILE functionality, try to change the image item format from TIFF to BMP/JFIF.
Otherwise if you changed any Jinitiator or JRE Version, sign again for all the JAR Files and restart your server.

  • Satellite Server Issue

Not sure if this is the correct forum, if incorrect my apologies,
    Good day,
Another ZCM related issue has cropped up, this time with a Satellite server, that is going to be performing the Imaging Role, I have included screen captures of the Satellite server, along with another server that is working, basically the Sxx-Oxx1 server is showing that the imaging role is enabled using the zac satcfg, however; when running the zac satr it reports that the Imaging Role: Enabled: false Status : Stopped (further when trying to restart the service it fails almost instantly)
Any thoughts as to why this service might be failing or what troubleshooting steps I can try next? This is 11.2.4 MU 1, and so far this has been the only site that has been reporting this issue. The installation of the agent and configuration is standard across other Satellite servers, so strange that this one would exhibit this behavior.
We did a quick Google search and found TID 7008789 and it mentions a timeout of 120ms, this site in question does have a slow link, but when we change other services those changes are seen almost immediately,
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you,
    -Dan

  • Satellite Server. Role is enabled but status is stopped

I have a satellite server (SLES 11.3) that has two roles assigned: imaging and content. Imaging is working fine, but when I run zac satr, it reports:
Role: Content Enabled: true. Status: Stopped.
I've tried removing that role and then readding it, but get the same result. Is there a way I can force it to try to start so I can check the logs (zmd-messages? is that the right log to be checking?) and see where it's failing? Are there rpms that I can reinstall that might correct it?
The one complication with this machine is that it used to be a primary server. I went through the primary server uninstall process and then set it up as a satellite. Everything was working fine, but now I'm running into this problem.
I appreciate any thoughts the community might have on this problem.

  • Printing from Lion to Linux CUPS server problem

    Hi,
Our printing infrastructure is built to use a Linux CUPS server. This server shares about 200 printers, and all the Linux and Mac clients use it to print (with the BROWSEPOLL option set  in the client cups.conf file).
Everything works fine with all Mac OS versions except with Lion.
On the Lion clients, the dialog with the server seems to work : printers are detected, and we can print using command line "lpr -P <printer> <file>".
But we can't print with any application like Safari and Firefox.

Apparently the Lion version of CUPS doesn't understand how your server specifies the location of the printer. That's about all I can tell you. You might find more information in the CUPS error log on the client.

  • Can't Install Solution Manager on Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10 - JAVA

    Hello everyone!
I've been trying to complete the pre-requisites in order to install Solution Manager SR2 on Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10 x64 - SP1.
There's only one last condition that I haven't met, and it's the Java Runtime Environment version...
I checked the recommended note 867110 and it says that  i need to have installed the J2SDK 1.4.2_08.
SLES10 includes the 1.4.2_13, so I had to uninstall it, and download the right version from  Sun Microsystem's official webpage.
When I installed the version 1.4.2_08, i'm not able to run SAPINST because there's no Java Runtime Environment running on the server.
I started to investigate and I found in some forums [NOT EXPLICITLY] that there's no port for J2SDK 1.4.2_08 on x64 linux systems.
I can't believe this is true because SLES10 is recommended by SAP to install Solution Manager, so I hope somebody can help me on this.
My specific question is: Does anybody know if is true that J2SDK 1.4.2_08 is NOT COMPATIBLE with x64 Linux?
In case of being true, is there any way to be able to run SAPINST ? because if I enable the version SLES brings built in, i'm able to run the SAPINST but it detects that i'm not running version 1.4.2_08 and doesn't allow me to continue installation.
I hope somebody can help me soon...
    Regards!

    > SAPINST_JRE_HOME=/opt/IBMJava2-s390-142/jre/bin:$PATH
    >
    > JAVA_HOME=/opt/IBMJava2-s390-142/jre/bin:$PATH
You downloaded the wrong version - the one you have is for Z-Linux(Linux running on the mainframe - not for x64).
You need to download the x86_64 (or AMD64) version.
Install the correct one and try on a new console:
    export JAVA_HOME=/opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142
    export PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH
    Then execute
    java -fullversion
and it should show the correct version.

  • Linux install server and solaris 10

    Hi,
I am trying to learn Solaris as a student. I bought a SPARC (Netra T105 UltrasparcII) server on ebay which requires a network install as there is no cd-rom, or keyboard.
I only have a linux box (like I said, I'm a stingy student) to use as an install server, there is a few tutorials out there to try and do this, but none for Solaris 10. I have been hacking away at this for days, but cannot get it to install. I have the sparc server using RARP and then getting the /etc/bootparams file and downloading the boot files, but it does not get to locating the jumpstart files or the install files (I dont know if I can install from the terminal using the keyboard (without jumpstart) - I have not got that far yet).
I always get this, like it cannot find the install directory, I was wireshark on the linux boot server and see loads of NFS traffic after the TFTP download, but cannot seem to see what part it actually at. I have a detailed log at the bottom from putty. Any help greatly appreciated.Cheers

/sbin/install-discovery: information: not foundHmm. That looks like the image file is corrupt. Can you pull the image from media again? Can you see if there's a /sbin/install-discovery file in the image (usually under Tools/Boot/root). I recall there used to be a problem with that file.
    Linux box setup:
    /etc/bootparams
solaris root=192.168.2.10:/home/sunos/Solaris_10/Tools/Boot rootopts=rsize=32768 boottype=:in install=192.168.2.10:/home/sunos_install/Solaris_10/Product sysid_config=192.168.2.10:/home/sunos_install/jumpstart/sysidcfg install_config=192.168.2.10:/home/sunos_install/jumpstart/jumpstart.confIf you just want an interactive install (prompt for configuration/settings), you don't need sysid_config or install_config. Those are for automated installations.
    TFTP setup from /tftpboot:
    [root@robert tftpboot]# ll

    [root@robert tftpboot]# showmount -e localhost
    Export list for localhost:
    /home/sunos *
    /home/sunos_install *That looks pretty good.
You do have the option of running VMware on linux, and putting a Solaris 10 image on it, then using that VM as your boot server. But the problem you're displaying doesn't appear to be related to the linux server.

  • Tr command in Linux

    Hi All,
I searched internet for the usage of tr command, honestly it is very powerfull when process flat files,
    take text replacement for example
cat file1.txt | tr "abc" "xyz"
the output will be that 'a' change to 'X', 'b' to 'Y', 'c' to 'Z'
but does it support function that can replace "abc" to "xyz", not change them individually?
Please advise which kind of option should I use for tr or any other command in Linux?
    thanks
    Henry

How about find and replace with SED, e.g.:
    $ sed -i 's/orig_text/new_text/g' /home/oracle/test.txt
sed edits "-i" /home/oracle/test.txt in place and replaces "orig_text" with "new_text"
You can find many examples and tutorials about SED in google e.g.
