ZTABLES with GUI_UPLOAD

Dear Gurus,
i have five internal tables, now i'm going to upload those tables in same selection screen though GUI_UPLOAD function.
there internal table formats are totaly diffrent.
my problem is how can i use in one time GUI_UPLOAD function for upload ztables.

I have a requirement in IDOCS, I need to create a custom IDOC .I am working on IDES 4.6c. The reqirement is , there are ztables with header and item data. say for example Authors and Books. I need to upload data from flat file which is available in presentation server of the same client, which will updated in ztables by using idocs. For this i need to do ale settings also. The client is 800. There is no other client available. With in the same client i need to do the above stuff.
For this requirement how to approach (step by step) to accomplish.

create segments using we31. don't forget to relaese it
create idoc using above segments using we30 don't forget to relaese it
create message type using we81
create function module to upload data using se37
maintain process code using we42
create partner profiles we20.
In the fm module itself write the code for downloading the data from presentation server by GUI_DOWNLOAD.
Then update the database tables directly by insrt through other internal table in the same client itself.

Getting an error message while trying to use a ZTABLE with TABLES statement

Hi All,
I wanted to use a ZTable with the TABLES statement, but it is throwing an error saying " Ztable must be a flat structure. you cannot use internal tables, strings, references or structures as components."
What might be the reason for this error??

This Ztable, is this a transparent table (structure) or is it a table type?
In case of table type, you should use USING or CHANGING parameter.
Might be better to paste part of your code here, and do not forget to tell how this Ztable is defined (Data dictionary or even local type).

It is possible to generate a complete list of purchase document releases with the purchase document number (requisitions and orders), releaser, release date and release time.
First, create an Infoset using transaction SQ02 directly reading from table CDPOS and create an additional table: CDHDR. If you are releasing purchase requsitions at the item level, it is convenient to create an additional field (PURPS LIKE EBAN-BNFPO) to capture the item number. Once the field is defined add the following code to it:
PURPS = CDPOS-TABKEY+14(5).
Once created, make sure to assign your Infoset to the user groups.
Second, create an SAP Query (SQ00) or QuickViewer (SQVI) based on the Infoset you created previously. Set CDPOS-OBJECTID, PURPS (additional field), CDHDR-USERNAME, CDHDR-UDATE & CDHDR-UTIME, CDPOS-TCODE, CDPOS-VALUE_NEW, and CDPOS-VALUE_OLD as list fields (display screen).

Upload data from excel to Ztable with statistics

Hi,
I have a requirement to upload data from excel sheet to ztable .
Here i need tp provide the user with the execution statistics like
1.Number of records read from the Excel spread-sheet
2. Number records processed successfully
3. Number records with Error
4. Name and location of Error Log-file (text-file format)
5. Name and location of the file containing error records (Excel spread-sheet format)
I would appreciate if any of you have code written for the same

Problem with GUI_UPLOAD using excel sheet

Hi,
I am trying to upload excel sheet thru GUI_UPLOAD ... this excel sheet has a header line and 3 line of data. Even if I remove the header line then also the internal while debugging is showing 28 lines of entries with "#" "squares" in some columns ... while in others where data should be there shows all Zeros....
The excel sheet has the following info

Excel data transfer into SAP internal table with GUI_UPLOAD

hi all,
i m using SRM4 system and i wanted to develop one report which will upload data from excel and convert it into IT.
i know that many threads are posted on this topic.
but my requirement is slight different. in the system only one function module is available that is "GUI_UPLOAD" and we want that user shd not save file as tab delimited before calling this fm. instead, program shd take care of all these things...
please suggest something asap..

Issue with GUI_UPLOAD

Hello All,
I am using the function module GUI_UPLOAD for uploading a notepad (tab delimitted). My file consists of 3000 records. I have passed the parameters filetype as 'ASC' and separator as 'X'.
When I am trying to upload the file it is taking too much time and results in ABAP dump (Time Out).
I have found that there is one record which is causing the problem. I have removed that record and uploaded. This time it got uploaded fine. But when I compare this record with other records, I didn't find any difference.
The same file is gettng uploaded when I use the FM 'UPLOAD'. But this is taking much time.
Length of the record in the file is 4809. I guess this is not the issue, because I have uploaded files which is having a record length of 7500.

Hi,
Don't use UPLOAD it is obsolete which is replaced by GUI_UPLOAD.As far as the Dump is considered there can be a minor issue with data format.These are rare issues.
Just check to download using :

Double quotes issue with GUI_UPLOAD

Hello Gurus,
I'm uploading a tab delimited file from my PC using GUI_UPLOAD. I've a description field (Char 40) in my input file which contains characters like double quotes or commas or single quotes. Whenever there is a comma or a double quote in the desc field in my input file, the field value is uploaded into the program as the actual value with double quotes in front of the value and at the end of the value.
Say if I'm uploading steel 1", then it is uploaded into the program as "steel 1"". Any ideas why is this and how to fix it.

I know that I can get rid of the extra double quotes with offsetting and replace statement...Thats not what I was expecting. I want to know why the extra double quotes are coming into the picture.

Creating multiple entries in ztable with the same name

Dear sir / madam,
iam new in sap-abap , i have created ztable in se11, table name zrajesh
and fields i have created zemp_name and zempid which has data element and domain also. and zprice.
when iam creating entries in table mataince generator
eg: zemp_name     zempid       zprice
      rajesh              001             100
      raj                     002            110
      rajesh              001             200
      rajesh             001              300
     rajesh              001              250
i am looking forward to create multiple entries of the same employ name .. as shown in example . iam able to create numbers of entries with the help of different names. is it possible to create numbers of entries with same name..
and it will show all the entries in the list when display.
please help me..

hi,
have a look at these tables
VBAK - Header table
VBAP - Item table
here in table VBAK we have a key field VBELN(document no.)
Whereas for the same document no. we can have many entries in the the table VBAP where the key is VBELN(document no.)
and POSNR (line item no.).
You have to do something of this type i suppose ............

File upload interface with gui_upload

Hi Experts,
I am trying to use the method GUI_UPLOAD of the class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES.
But the problem is I am not getting a dialog box where we can select the file by browsing our computer.( like the browse button in Windows).
I remember getting this dialog box when using the FM WS_UPLOAD.
But this is obsolete and cannot use in Unicode programs.
What should I do? and how?
can anybody help me?

How to upload 15 lakhs of record onto ztable with performance

I have 15 to 20 lakhs of records in my internal table. I'm uploading it onto ztable in se11.
While doing so, it's taking lot of time.
I'm writing the following query:
MODIFY ZTABLE       FROM TABLE ITAB(INTERNAL TABLE NAME).
Please let me know if there is any other alternative which gives better performance.

Hi Rob,
just trace a
MODIFY ZTABLE FROM TABLE ITAB
with ST05 and you will see what the DBI / DB does with this statement.
If i remember right you are on DB6. Given current releases it migth be possible
that a MERGE (which can handle arrays) will be used instead of UPDATE / INSERT on
a row by row basis.
On most platforms the modify from table is done row by row like this:
UPDATE dbtab_row.
IF sy-subrc NE 0.
   INSERT dbtab_row.
   IF sy-subrc NE 0.
      UPDATE dbtab_row.
   ENDIF.
ENDIF.
if the rows exist you will only see updates.
if the rows don't exist you will see updates (no record) followed by an insert (1 record).
In rare cases you might see update (no record), insert (no record, somebody else inserted this record after the first update), update (1 record).
