Two node installation with 2 concurrent managers..
Need your help. I have 12.1.1 Two node installation on Linux 5.9 with 64 bit.
Linux2- Database server + Concurrent manager
Linux1- Apps Node
Port - 8002 (port pool -2)
on my app node - linux1, I have 2 directories <SID>_linux1 and <SID>_linux2. First one is for primary apps node and second one is for 2nd concurrent manager. It is a shared directory structure. I have 2 questions:
1) If I run the autoconfig on Linux1, I can run all the services and connect to apache. However, If I run the autconfig on linux2, I will not be able to connect to web server (for a short time request will be sent to Linux1 and then it gets forwarded to Linux2 - even though Linux2 is not app server).
2) How do I run the second concurrent manager on LInux2? After I run the 2 concurrent manager, how do I test both concurrent managers are working?
Your help is much appreciated.Hi Hussein,
Thank you for the info. I was wondering whether the Linux2 concurrent manager was installed correctly or not. I went to xml file and found these entries and it made me think, it didn't install correctly because only concurrent manager should have been yes and the rest should be no. Isn't it? If it is wrong, how do I correct this?

Election problem after repeated split-brains with two nodes
Hi
I'm using a customized source based on BDB-5.1.19 (excxx_repquote)
with two site one - MASTER and the other SLAVE...
nsite=2
ack=quorum
- the master is writing to quotedb at a rate of 10 txn per sec
- the test consist to isolate the client from the master (split brain) and reconnect it after a random time include from 1sec to 10sec
the test run well about 10 times but at a moment the process slave receive DB_EVENT_REP_ELECTION_FAILED
and the master enter in election mode and never exit from the CLIENT mode. I must say that to freeze the client I decide to kill me (kill -9 my pid) when I receive such event...
here is the verbose log on the master...

* In this application, we specify all communication via the command line. In
* a real application, we would expect that information about the other sites
* in the system would be maintained in some sort of configuration file. The
* critical part of this interface is that we assume at startup that we can
* find out
* 1) what our Berkeley DB home environment is,
* 2) what host/port we wish to listen on for connections; and
* 3) an optional list of other sites we should attempt to connect to.
* These pieces of information are expressed by the following flags.
* -h home (required; h stands for home directory)
* -l host:port (required; l stands for local)
* -C or -M (optional; start up as client or master)
* -r host:port (optional; r stands for remote; any number of these may be
* specified)
* -R host:port (optional; R stands for remote peer; only one of these may
* be specified)
* -a all|quorum (optional; a stands for ack policy)
* -b (optional; b stands for bulk)
* -n nsites (optional; number of sites in replication group; defaults to 0
* to try to dynamically compute nsites)
* -p priority (optional; defaults to 100)
* -v (optional; v stands for verbose)

Services in a two node installation
Hi,
we have 2 node installation of R12.1.1
Node A: Database & Batch Processing
Node B: Application Services(Root service, web entry point services, web application services & other services)
One thing i need to clarify
Should i have to select root services in primary application node(node A)
if selecting root services at primary application node then i have to select web entry point services and web applicatio services compulsory at node A
Please explain
Thanks,
Jak
Edited by: user12257829 on Nov 22, 2009 9:53 PMHi,
According to your configuration, root services should be enabled on (Node B). In addition to "Oracle Applications Installation" manual, please see (Note: 406558.1 - Configuring Applications Node Services in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12) for details.

Oracle Application 11i using multi node installation
Hi every one,
Can anyone help me to install in multi node.
/d01 is in dbtier(1st unit) and /u01 is in appstier(2nd unit).
how to install that kind of split configuration.?
do i need to stage in appstier? and run rapidwiz?
how to copy configuration file from dbtier to appstier?
do i need to enable load balancing?
i expecting your soonest reply guys..
Thanks BJCDRCheck "Oracle Applications Installation Guide: Using Rapid Install" Manual, all the steps to perform a multi-node installation and configure load balancing are mentioned there.

Please help out.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Gokul CahndolaYes Finally I Got the solution.
please check
>r3trans -d To Check Conectivity between Apps and DB Server.
If 000 then its OK- mean connectivity is OK, in this case all work.
when I was installing Second system then tnsname.ora and listner file was creating and privios system entry was removed. DUE to that reasion First one goes down.
Solution:- Both system entry should be Listner and tnsname file. Then Both server will work.

ORA-04030 On ORACLE 10g RAC database with two nodes as active
OS-HP-AIX 5L(5.3)----IBM
DATABASE-10.2.0.2(10G)
I am getting error "ORA-04030" while executing a query
I have already set the ulimits for oracle account to UNLIMITED
1)STACK----UNLIMITED(BOTH SOFT/HARD LIMITs)
2)DATA----UNLIMITED(BOTH SOFT/HARD LIMITs)
3)MEMORY----UNLIMITED(BOTH SOFT/HARD LIMITs)
4)TIME----UNLIMITED(BOTH SOFT/HARD LIMITs)
step 1:-When I skip the listener then query executes very fine.But when
i go through the listener the "ORA-04030" errors come.
step 2:-Then when i stop and start listener on both the nodes the all
the query works fine.
This thing happens every time the system reboots
Can anyone tell me the solution for this
and why this thing happensThanks for ur immediate response

Dual boot with two arch installations and gummiboot
Hi,
I found similar topics regarding this matter, but they couldn't resolve my doubts, so I ask once again.
I currently have an EFI partition with gummiboot and will like to add a new arch installation (to have different configurations, packages versions and repositories. I came to the conclusion that this is the cleanest way to achieve what I want). I think I could use the same partition but if I mount it on /boot there will be problems when I upgrade the kernel because it will override the image in the partition when running mkinitcpio. Maybe if I maintain both installations in sync everything would be fine, but on the long run I think this could cause problems.
I considered to edit /etc/mkinitcpio.d/linux.preset in one of the installations to change the name of the image, thus both images could cohabit in the same partition, but I don't know if there are some cleaner way to achieve what I want.
Thanks.TheSaint wrote:It'll be necessary to configure mkinitcpio to address the correct path in order that the future kernel updates will go to ther right place.
See this for details.
I don't think so -- the use of a bind mount means that the kernel image can go in the standard location, that's the whole point of it.
@OP: Yes, just make sure to call the path to the respective kernel images relative to $ESP -
12.1.1 Two Node Installation
Hi,
Node 1:
DB + CM + Reports
Node 2:
Forms + Web
While doing Installation in Node1, I have selected the following services in APplications to enable for CM and Reports
1. Batch Processing
For Node2, I have given the following for Forms and Web
1. Root Processes
2. Web Entry Point Services
3. Web Application Services
4. Other
Please let me know, if I was wrong?Hi,
As per the installation document (Page 2-22) ..
When installing, be aware of the following important service dependencies:
When you select Root Services, the Web services are automatically selected as well. This is because Web Entry Point Services, Web Application Services, and Root Services must all be installed on the same node.
Thanks,

Bootcamp partition won't boot with two OSX installations
Hey,
I have a MacBook Pro running OSX Mavericks (10.9.5) and had installed Windows 8.1 through Bootcamp and everything worked like a charm. I then added a new partition to install the developer preview of OSX Yosemite. Everything worked, I could boot to OSX 10.9.5, OSX 10.10, both recovery partitions and Windows.
Lately, my Mac had some issues that made me booting to 10.9.5 recovery and using disk utility to repair the Mavericks and Yosemite partitions (both were good, interestingly I could not repair the disk permissions, though) and I even clicked on "Repair", as the whole disk was selected and Disk Utility repaired something (I forgot what it was, but I think it changed the MBR).
Now the Windows partition is gone, when I option-Boot and when I try to reboot from OSX to the Windows partition using the "startup disk" option of System Settings, it says
No bootable device --- insert boot disk and press any key
I want to be able to boot Windows again (and my OSX partitions) and would love to be able to do so, even when I choose to delete the Yosemite partition once it's out of beta so that I can update Mavericks. I tried using this guide:
Repairing Boot Camp after creating new partition
My problem is that it says that the Windows partition should be number 5 on /dev/disk0. In my case, the described partition is number 6.
Can I simply replace the number and it should still work or will it break something that the Windows partition is not at the place it normally is?
Thanks in advanceWell, I just tried it and it didn't work. I still don't see the Bootcamp partition when I option-boot and when I try starting Windows via Startup Disk settings, the screen just turns black after a while and then a white blinking horizontal cursor appears (not even the "No bootable device" error any longer).
Any help would be appreciated. -
Resolve node with two nodes (nested tables)
Hello,
I want to hide a field depending of the value of another field of the same line. the issue is that the line is from a nested table.
here is the code :
var nodList = xfa.resolveNodes("xfa.record.LISTE_POSTES_TRAVAIL.DATA[].LISTE_CARAC.DATA[].CARAC");
I want to get the value of "carac" field in table LISTE_CARAC_DATA.
So when I display this :
xfa.host.messageBox(""+nodList.item(this.parent.index).value);
I always see the values of the table LISTE_CARAC_DATA for the first line of LISTE_POSTES_TRAVAIL.
Could you help me ?
Thank you.No Otto you won't make me rebuild my form
I think I just get what is wrong, the value of this.index is always 0, that explain why sometimes it works, and sometimes not.
Maybe I just need to put a counter in my table. I will do that if I don't find a javscript solution.
Anyway, thanks a lot Otto for your time and very helpful advice.
This is the code if it can help someone :
var nodTry = xfa.resolveNodes("$.parent.parent.parent.POSTE[*].multiple_resultat.RESULTAT_T1");
//The nodtry is complex because of all the subforms.
var selection = $.boundItem(xfa.event.newText);
if ( this.CARAC.rawValue == "LISTERIA" )
if ( selection == "YES" )
//COMPTEUR is the index that I created (I add a columns in my table and filled it in the ABAP program).
// I don't need to do "+1" because index started at 0 in adobe form.
nodTry.item(this.COMPTEUR.rawValue).mandatory = "error";
nodTry.item(this.COMPTEUR.rawValue).access = "open";
nodTry.item(this.COMPTEUR.rawValue).fillColor = "255,255,255";
else if ( selection != "YES" )
nodTry.item(this.COMPTEUR.rawValue).mandatory = "disabled";
nodTry.item(this.COMPTEUR.rawValue).access = "readOnly";
nodTry.item(this.COMPTEUR.rawValue).fillColor = "230,230,230";
nodTry.item(this.COMPTEUR.rawValue).rawValue = "";

Load Balance Problem in Oracle RAC 10.2.0.4 (two nodes with CRS)
Hi all,
I have an Oracle RAC 10.2.0.4 with two nodes and I'm having problems with sessions load balance.
The problem is that all connections are going to the node which is enabled as 'master' in RAC, the node who has located .db resource in CRS.
If .db resource is located in node1 all connections are made in node1. In the same way, all connections are made in node2 when .db resource from CRS stack is located in node2.
The connections are made by a pool in Tomcat 6 using RAC service for made the connections.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance.
Here is an example of my net configuration:
listener.ora in node1:
LISTENER_RAC_NODE1 =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node1_vip)(PORT = 1525)(IP = FIRST))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node1)(PORT = 1525)(IP = FIRST))
tnsnames in node1:
LISTENERS_RAC =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node1_vip)(PORT = 1525))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node2_vip)(PORT = 1525))
NODE1 =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node1_vip)(PORT = 1525))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node1)(PORT = 1525))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = rac)
(INSTANCE_NAME = rac1)
RAC =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node1_vip)(PORT = 1525))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node2_vip)(PORT = 1525))
(LOAD_BALANCE = yes)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = rac)

It was the connection service. I had one one with preferred option and one without it. Now is working well. -
Control file not updated till date in RAC two node database
Hi,
Good day.
To my surprise i found that control files, in our database RAC with two nodes, are not updated till date except one from node 1 and another from node 2.
But we got all the controlfile names in the init parameter file, in both the nodes.
Node 1
bash-3.00$ ls -lrt
total 922128
-rw------- 1 oracle dba 157286400 Nov 3 2007 cntrl03.dbf
-rw------- 1 oracle dba 157286400 Nov 3 2007 cntrl02.dbf
-rw------- 1 oracle dba 157286400 Apr 12 17:21 cntrl01.dbf
Node 2
bash-3.00$ ls -lrt
total 922128
-rw------- 1 oracle dba 157286400 Mar 30 09:17 cntrl03.dbf
-rw------- 1 oracle dba 157286400 Mar 30 09:17 cntrl02.dbf
-rw------- 1 oracle dba 157286400 Apr 12 17:20 cntrl01.dbf
As you could see cntrl01.dbf is the only file updated till date in both the nodes. The database is running fine.
what is actually happening?
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Balu.As you're using RAC it is very likely that you are using an SPFILE.
Connect as a DBA account (or an account with SELECT ANY DICTIONARY privileges) in both the instances and do "show parameter spfile" and "show parameter control" (or query V$parameter)
It is likely that the spfile is referencing only 1 controlfile.
