How to configure Request Monitoring in OEM 12.1.0.1.0

Hi All,
I have deployed ADP manager and ADp agent in OEM 12c Cloud Control. There is a Middleware feature in OEM 12.1.0.1.0 named "Request Monitorung" for which there is pre-requisite of deploying ADP manager and ADP agent. I read an oracle document for Request Monitoring but fail to understand its capability and significance also I am not able to configure it. Can anyone provide me with some good links explaining this particular feature in OEM. In the document which I read it is mentioned that
"To view and configure requests, grant the Request Monitoring Administrator privilege which provides full access to the Request Monitoring pages and allows the user to modify the request configuration settings. For richer Request Monitoring functionality, we recommend that you grant the following privileges:
◦View any Target privilege which allows user to drill down to the Target Home page and to view the target metrics in the Topology view.
◦JVM Diagnostics privilege which allows user to drill down to the JVM Diagnostics pages from the Topology page. "
How can I grant these priviledge is not mentioned here. Also the document which I am referring if for OEM 11.1.0.1. I didn't find any document for OEM 12.1.0.1.0
Please help!!
Thanks in Advance!!

Hi Roshni,
BTM supersedes Request Monitoring in functionality as it is payload aware and much more granular as a whole in regards to its requestion transaction monitoring capabilities. This is particularly true as we just released the Business Application dashboard as mentioned in the previous thread. It is highly recommended that BTM be used in 12c as opposed to the older Request Monitoring functionality.
Cheers,
Glen

    Hi everybody,
How to configure email Alerts in OEM Cloud 12c for Database Servers up/down status?
    Regards,
    Miguel Vega

    Hi Miguel Vega,
    Information regarding the notifications:
    ==============================
Configuring notification rules in 12c is different from earlier releases.
The concept and function of notification rules has been replaced with a two-tier system consisting of Incident Rules and Incident Rule Sets :
    1. Incident Rules: Operate at the lowest level granularity (on discrete events) and performs the same role as notification rules from earlier releases.
By using incident rules, you can automate the response to incoming incidents and their updates.
A rule contains a set of automated actions to be taken on specific events, incidents or problems.
The actions taken are for example : sending e-mails, creating incidents, updating incidents, and creating tickets.
    2. Incident Rule Set: A rule set is a collection of rules that applies to a common set of objects, for example, targets, jobs, and templates.

  • How to configure request manager service for multiple website in one web application

I have set up sp 2013 as below:
     web application : wa1
    site collection : sc1
    sp site: site1, site2
I used 2 WFE, 1 APP, how can I use request manager service to control  site1 to wfe1, site2 to wfe2?
    Awen

That's not what i'd describe as load balancing.
A better description would be load-isolation. In your description then if the load on site1 was large (and growing) but site2 was quiet then site1 would struggle and eventually become unable to handle the number of users but site2 would still be ok. That's
fine from a QOS point of view but it's not the norm for load balancing. It would work in simple scenarios but the out of the box load balancing tools are much better suited than that sort of approach.
This article shows how to configure the RMS and may help show how your request is difficult to configure:

  • How to configure the monitoring computer to see the Xserve Raid

Finally I got My Xserve RAID.
I mounted It using disk utility as a single big disk.
But i don't know how to use RAID Admin since no List of System on subnet is present.
How do i change these setting on the monitoring computer?
I can write to the Xserve and i can read from it but I cannot use RAID Admin.
The fibre Channel utility is working well, do I have to change the setting of the PCI card?
I'd like to leave It as a single 2.7 Tb disk RAID 5, but sliced in smaller disk (Lun ?)
    Please Help.
    Thank you in advance
    umberto

Now IT is Buidilng the Raid 5 across all the 7 disk. I unmount it from the desktop and shut It down via Raid Admin
Building a RAID 5 array takes hours. You can't shut the RAID down while it's doing this, otherwise you will lose the array settings.
I removed the older system and I added a new one that It has a different IP.
Once you connect with RAID Admin you should change the XServe RAID's configuration so that it has an IP address you can remember. If you leave it set to DHCP then it will probably change addresses every time you start it up.

  • SOA Composites in Parallel - How to Configure and Monitor

We have couple of SOA Composites that customers are making calls to. How can I configure these composites / Web Service that can be handled parallely.
Customer is calling each composite 10/20 times (because of the load) in every 10 seconds and based on their testing it is queuing up and performance is slow. But when I look at CUBE_INSTANCE table for start and end of composite instances, it is doing good.. with in 1 second.
I am guessing I need to configure to handle parallel calls to these SOA Composites.

    Hi,
It depends on what you have in that composite? For BPEL you should go through this...

  • How to Configure OIM 9.1 for Request-Based Provisioning

    Hi experts,
I am new to OIM and need to know how to configure request based provisioning. Here is the scenario.
My environment has two target systems (Sun LDAP and Novell EDirectory) configured for provisioning to OIM 9.1
A user should be able to login, request either or both (SUN LDAP and EDir) for self or others.
Now the request should go to an admin for approval.
Once approved, the requested accounts should be created on the target systems.
Please guide me on the procedure to be followed.
    Many thanks in advance

You will have to download the standard out of box connector for these target systems & will have to import it through the Deployment manager into OIM. Then you will have to create the Process definition of approval type & attach it to the same resource object. Please read the belo link before implementing any thing. This will provide you a better idea.

  • Process monitoring from OEM

Can u send me link or steps to configure process monitoring from OEM.
Requirement : There is some batch job which is executing continiously, but if particular process( Batch process) is down thwn owner will get alert with corrective action ( that means it will UP the batch JOB)
So can u help, how to do this....... Please help asap.

    Hallo,
I think what you want to do requires some knowledge in enterprise manager extensibility, plug-in development in particular.
Have a look at the [Official EM Extensibility Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B16240_01/doc/em.102/b40007.pdf] and learn how to create a monitoring plug-in for your batch process.
Then see point 12.3.10 to define a FixitJob. That is a task that is executed if a warning or critical alert is raised - so in your case when the batch process is down.
An easier but not that powerful way would be to use User Defined Metrics and define a corrective action as described here
    Hope that helps a little.
    Best regards,
    Robert

  • Configure external monitor to be --left-of laptop screen (nouveau)

    Hi,
I have problem configuring external monitor to work like nvidia's 'twinView'.
Having no xorg.conf my external monitor is configured just to clone image displayed on latop screen. I can setup correct resolution in my DE (I'm using XFCE), but what confuses me is how to configure external monitor to work as separate screen (not to present cloned image).
This my my output from xrandr:
    [kuba@t61:~]$ xrandr

Following wiki instructions (http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/Randr12/) this commad helps me to setup what I want:
    xrandr --output VGA-1 --left-of LVDS-1
and I want to persist such configuration.
I tried to configure it in  /etc/X11/xorg.conf (there was no such file)
    [kuba@t61:~]$ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak
    # the right one

But it seems like still there is something wrong as every time I run X I have cloned output on both screens.
    Any ideas?

  • HOW TO CONFIGURE MANAGER or APPROVER USER IN ACCESS REQUEST MANAGEMENT TO APPROVE OR REJECT REQUEST

    hi sap gurus,
i configured grc 10 system successfully. I created one user: GR_AR_APP001 and assign following roles:
    SAP_GRAC_ACCESS_APPROVER
    SAP_GRAC_ACCESS_REQUEST_ADMIN
    SAP_GRC_FN_BASE
    SAP_GRC_FN_NUSINESS_USER
and I maintained GR_AR_APP001 in access control owners as "POINT OF CONTACT", "SECURITY LEAD" and "WORKFLOW ADMINISTRATOR"
but when i am creating access request for new user and defining MANAGER under user details tab as GR_AR_APP001.
the user GR_AR_APP001 is not receiving any request for APPROVE or REJECT in his WORK INBOX.
can u please guide me how to configure APPROVER or MANAGER to approve or reject request.
I will be very much thankful if you guide me successfully.

    Hi Colleen,
thanks a lot for your time.
    PIC1: I created one user: GR_AR_APP001
and assigned all the GRC ROLES.
PIC2: I assigned owner type to GR_AR_APP001 user : POINT OF CONTACT, SECURITY LEAD and WORKFLOW ADMINISTRATOR in NWBC ACCESS CONTROL OWNERS
PIC3: I created one EUP 980 (copied from default EUP)
PIC4: I maintained default manager as GR_AR_APP001 user in 980 EUP
    PIC5: I selected SAP_GRAC_ACCESS_REQUEST process id
PIC6: I created one agent id as ZGRAC_MANAGER11 in which I added approver user id: GR_AR_APP001
    PIC7: I saved agent id
PIC8: I added agent id as ZGRAC_MANAGER11 in stage5 in manager stage.
    PIC9: I saved
PIC10: I maintained EUP 980 (in which I configured manager as GR_AR_APP001 user) in stage 5 task settings
PIC11: Maintain Route Mapping, I clicked on next
    PIC12 and PIC13: I saved and activated.
After this process I created one request for new account and selected the manager as GR_AR_APP001 and one request is created with request no 9000000030.
now I logged into system by user GR_AR_APP001 and checked, there is no request under his work inbox.
please guide me at least one procedure, how to receive request in approver work inbox so that I can learn other procedures to configure approver as per our organization requirement.

  • RE: How to add Configuration Section to an OEM Plug-In

    Hi:
    - Some OEM plug-ins which I downloaded have a Configuration Section on the Plug-In's home page.
    - The OEM Extensibility Guide does not explain how to add the Configuration Section to a Plug-In.
    - Could someone please provide some pointers on how to add the Configuration Section to an OEM plug-in?
    Thanks
    John

For certain Oracle built plug-ins, ECM configuration data is collected, which will show up in the Configuration Section on the target homepage. However, the ECM functionality is not supported for plug-ins built outside of Oracle.
You can still collection configuration data as a regular metric, but it wouldn't appear on the homepage under the Configuration Section; it would appear as any other metric collected for the target type.

  • How to Configure Solution Manager for 1.Download SuppPacks 2. Monitoring 3

We recently upgraded to ECC 6.0 and installed Solution Man., very vanilla.  Basically just to get the Key to do the upgrade with.
I would really appreciate it if someone could share any documentation that would provide guidance on how to now further configure SolMan for the following
    1.  Monitor our Landscape which comprises of ABAP ECC (java is installed though not actively using), and SAP BI 7.0
Sandbox, Dev, QAS and Prdn  for BOTH ECC & BI
    2. Download Support Patches from SAP Marketplace (currently we have had to donwload the long way with download manager creating a message to get them apporoved whew... this is work..)
    3. Add messages to SAP Market Place (thru SolMan)
4 Possibly monitor security and manage userids etc (if possible)
And if there is functionality that will make the BASIS experience better I would definitely appreciate it.  We don't need the help desk as we already have it ,but, we may take advantage of Project documentation
I would really really appreciate it if someone could advise
    Kind Regards & Thank You
    Maria

    Hi Maria,
With solution manager you can definitely do a world of things, below is a list inclusive of the features you wanted:
    1. Dowload SP-Stacks, etc - you will have to configure Maintenance Optimizer for this (MOPZ).
    2. Monitoring - you can monitor your ABAP and JAVA stacks using the monitoring features of CCMS which is embedded in Solution Manager, please have a look at the monitoring setup guide (for NW04S) in the Service Marketplace. Basically, it uses agents such as SAPCCMSR for JAVA Stacks and SAPCCM4X for ABAP stacks.
    3. You can also configure availability monitoring using th same guide as above - this uses the CCMSPING tool.
    4. You can monitor your business processes using the BPM/BPMon features of solution manager - you will also get this guide in http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager.
    5. You can scheule your earlywatch alerts (EWAs) in solution manager system - have a look at the following link for this:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e0f35bf3-14a3-2910-abb8-89a7a294cedb
    6. You can also have DBACOCKPIT on your Solution Manager system and have it tomonitor backups, etc on your satellite systems. For thsi have a look at SAP notes 1028624, 1025707 and 1027146 (and the DBACOKPIT guide in SAP Note 1028624).
Hope this is helpful. Kindly award points if useful.
