Problem  resolved

After  countless  uploading  and uninstalling, I have resolved my issue. I  finf the support options lacking. Wehn you  encounter a problem you  need support and contact  details to a real support person. Aftre a day  of  struggling  my issue is resolved. But I am left very diaappointed with   the support  from  Adobe

Thanks Jim  for your input. Indeed I realize this is a forum of  users  like myself. I was merely expressing  my  frustration at  being  unable to  connect  with a support  person /help at  adobe re my issues... all  roads lead here . And yes I  did  post a question yesterday , nobody responded.
After  reinstalling  at  least  half a dozen times completely cleanly uninstalling/ backing  up  presets and photos. It  works.
I have never  had a problem updated  before. As everything  moves to  creative Cloud I do  wonder  if  there are bugs that  caused  my issues? Anyways thanks for taking the time to  respond, have a great day- Kathy

    You can have Apple replace the logic board, but it will be at your expense.  The free replacement program has ended.
    As a band aid you may try the following:
    https://gfx.io/
    This will allow you to run on only the integrated GPU.
    Ciao.

    Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons together for 10+ seconds, ignoring the red power-off slider, until you see the Apple logo. It is safe to do, there should be no content loss. It is the same as rebooting your computer.

  • Problems resolving .local DNS names

    Hi all - I was having problems resolving machine.local type names, and I found this article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107800
    This solution helped, but not completely.
    I am on a Mac mini running 10.4.8PPC.
    This unit is on a private IP network - 192.168.254.0/255.255.255.0
    This unit is staticly addressed - 192.168.254.31
    The network has a Windows Server 2003 machine doing DNS/DHCP
    The network has a domain of mynetwork.local
    I was experiencing the issue in this article:
    dig server.mynetwork.local would complete and resolve to 192.168.254.11
    ping server.mynetwork.local would fail to resolve.
    Adding local to the search domain solved this issue as described in the article.
    However, a new wrinkle arises.
    I frequently connect to other networks via PPTP, many running SBS 2003, which uses a company.local DNS scheme.
    Once connected, I can dig company.local names, but not mynetwork.local names (which I expected - as I am now resolving names through server.company.local). However, I can't ping company.local names, which prevents connection to the server.company.local OWA server, for example.
    Any thoughts? I tried putting
    mynetwork.local, company.local
    in the search domains field, but no joy...
    Thanks for wading through this long question - appreciate any replies...

    Playing Dr. Watson here...
    Are those other Networks Local but not on the 192.168.254.x subnet?

  • Bass problem resolved - Can no one advise me please

    Has the new 80 gig Ipod had the previous bass distortion problem resolved ?
    The old 60 gig model showed significant bass distortion (bass drum etc) on some tracks and was a known problem.
    I am thinking of buying the new 80Gig tomorrow - or - the Creative model - -can anyone advise right away please /
    Thank you
    Brian

    Check through the forum and use bass distortion as a search - you will then see some time ago that a problem did exist. It was due as far as I know to the change of the output whcih caused an overlaod on deep bass especially when the equaliser was used. Apple knew about this and eventually posted a hardware 'upgrade' - however I do not know if this cured the problem as I then bought the Sony A3000. I would like to get the new Ipod but not if this problem still exists.

  • Multiple Data Merge - Problem Resolve... Sort Of

    I've researched this issue all morning and found issues dating back to 2012 regarding the problems with Indesign's Multiple Record Data Merge. Many of the issues are answered with the basic set up. Create a new page as a single page and non facing page document. It appears that an earlier bug was resolved that caused data merge documents to be placed off center when produced. The issue that I was experiencing was similar to what I had seen but not covered or not answered when it appeared someone was posting a question about it.
    I started with a single page document, non-facing page, no initial text box, and sized to 8.5'' x 11''. I'm layout out name badges 10-up on a page. I had a previous template that had some graphics in the background for alignment purposes. I created a blank master page and a record holder for the name badge then loaded my data source, placed my data entries, and styled accordingly. Upon creating a data merge I selected Multiple Record and then previewed the data merge and positioned the elements on the page using the data merge controls top, left and column placement commands.
    The preview looked perfect. The problem came when I finished the final data merge. The resulting page was not correct and looked nothing like the preview. Records were strewn about the page and excessive amounts of pages were created. I spent 4 hours trouble shooting this, far more than this project was billed. At this point it was a mission. In a reply dated back around 2013 I found that someone had removed a layer from their document. I had no layers. The only thing that was not a part of the actual data merge was the graphics that I had on the page for positioning that were not tied to the data merge at all.
    I decided to delete these graphics and try to apply the data merge again. The results were perfect. I'm deducing from this experiment that the data merge needs to be done on a blank page. Which is counter productive to the Indesign mater page template. Any elements on the page need to exist as a a part of your data entry group and no other elements on the page. You only create one data entry group in the top corner of the page then use the data merge panel to position and duplicate. Otherwise, you will get a single page for each record you have with each record set 10-up in my case.
    Recap:
    Create a single non-facing page document with no intial text box. (if you have more than one page the Multiple Records option will be grayed out)
    Only have 1 layer in this document
    Set a single data entry set/group on the master page.
    Do not include any other graphics. Put them in after the data merge.
    Click the Create Merged Document button in the data merge panel
    Select "Multiple Records" from the drop down list
    Click the Multiple Record Layout tab at the top of the Data Merge panel
    Click "Preview Multiple Record Layout" at the bottom of the Data Merge panel so you can see the Entry Sets with the data in place
    Use the Margins and Layout or Records inputs to position the elements on the document (see note below)
    Click OK when everything is in place the way you like it.
    After the data merge is complete you will have a new document that should look like you want it to. Now you can go into this document and start adding your design elements.
    NOTE: Positioning the content without the base graphics can be tough if not impossible. What I did in this situation is placed my positioning guides on the page then went through Steps 1-9 to set up the document for merge. Once my settings were set I then clicked "Cancel" and deleted my positioning guides and graphics. The problem I was having was due to these elements being on the page. Once I created the document I then pasted my template guides back into the final data merged master page for production.
    Request to ADOBE: Fix this issue so we can design our layouts and position our data merge elements without having to backtrack.

    If you insist in multi-record data merge, you can have static/variable graphic and text components work. But, create a 3.5 x 2 frame (3.75 x 2.25 card w/bleed) around all of these components, and make sure nothing extends beyond this bounding frame. If the composition prevents you from enclosing all components, then make a PDF of content that is imported in as one graphic.
    Another suggestion: don't combine the functions of variable data merge with imposition.
    Create a 1up layout of business card to data merge the variable info.
    From this file, export to PDF.
    Then impose the individual cards with: an imposition app, PDF plug-in, Indesign script, or even manual placement into another document.

  • Problem resolving hosts

    My network connection started up fine after install, but when browsing web pages, it takes a really long time to resolve hostnames.  For example, when I clicked on the link to this forum from the arch homepage, it took over 37 seconds to resolve the hostname.  Once the hostname is resolved, everything goes wicked quick, just like it did for me when I had Mandrake installed and just like my XP computer does in the other room.  Does anyone have any suggestion of how to fix this problem?  I don't even know where to start.
    Here's the networking portion of my rc.conf.  Everything seems kosher to me, I just need some help getting it to resolve hosts better.  Thanks.
    # Networking
    HOSTNAME="localhost"
    # Module to load at boot-up (in this order)
    #   (prefix a module with a ! to disable it)
    MODULES=(!usbserial !ide-scsi eepro100)
    # Interfaces to start at boot-up (in this order)
    # Declare each interface then list in INTERFACES
    #   (prefix an interface in INTERFACES with a ! to disable it)
    # Note: to use DHCP, set your interface to be "dhcp" (eth0="dhcp")
    lo="lo 127.0.0.1"
    eth0="dhcp"
    INTERFACES=(lo eth0)
    # Routes to start at boot-up (in this order)
    # Declare each route then list in ROUTES
    #   (prefix a route in ROUTES with a ! to disable it)
    gateway="default gw 192.168.1.1"
    ROUTES=(!gateway)

    Actually, I had been having the exact same problem recently... my solution was to unplug, wait 5 minutes, and then plug back in my DSL modem.  This fixed the problem immediately.
    This solution may not be applicable to you, but it is something to try.

  • IDVD Stage 4 Multiplexing problem resolved.

    I think I've resolved (at least one reason) for the 'takes forever' problem with the iDVD multiplexing/burning (stage 4) - which, reading this forum, it seems a lot of other people have problems with also.
    After approx. EIGHT HOURS just in stage 4 it finally spit out the tray with the DVD disk burning completed. I then tested the DVD (as I always do) with my TV & DVD player. The DVD was FAULTY! Although the movie started & ran perfectly, the skip facility would not work properly (I'd used chapter markers) - also the fast forward 2x 4x etc. wouldn't work properly & the DVD player timer was not running.
    I then decided to play the movie right through (1 hour 17 mins total) - it ran perfect up to the first chapter marker position, where the movie FROZE & I could hear a 'jumping' sound as is it was trying to search. This gave me a clue - luckily I hadn't saved the final changes in the project, so I started from scratch WITHOUT ANY CHAPTER MARKERS. Now stage 4 was only FIFTEEN MINUTES (more normal) & the movie tested PERFECT FROM START TO FINISH! I burned a few more, all timed at 15 minutes & tested O.K. It must be a 'bug' yet I've done many DVDs with chapters & they are fine, so I don't know why. Anyway, I hope this helps some others. By the way, some time ago I downgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.3.4 which resolved a lot of iMovie problems.
    eMac PowerPC G4   Mac OS X (10.3.4)   iDVD 4.0.1
    eMac PowerPC G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    I think you did what I was doing. Did you add a
    chapter marker at the beginning (within the first few
    seconds) of your iMovie? If so, remove it.....iDVD
    adds one automatically called "Beginning" (which you
    can later change to whatever you want), and it may be
    causing a conflict with your chapters. Don't worry
    that the first chapter mark in iMovie is really your
    second chapter.
    Try it, and let us know if it works.....I'm trying
    the same thing, but am still getting other burn
    errors that's preventing me from checking to see if
    this tips solved my chapter problems.....
    Thanks for your reply and YES I DID put a chapter in right at the beginning, so I'll remember your advice in future.

  • Problem resolving Type names in CreateDescriptor

    I have two users: SCHEMAOWNER and USER1
    SCHEMAOWNER creates a type with
    CREATE TYPE MYTABTYP AS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(50);
    CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM MYTABTYP FOR MYTABTYP;
    GRANT EXECUTE ON MYTABTYP TO PUBLIC;
    USER1 attempts to run the following Java snippet:
    ArrayDescriptor descriptor = ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor( "MYTABTYP", connection );
    and receives the message that USER1.MYTABTYP cannont be resolved.
    USER1 does not have any table types.
    Even if I change the code to read:
    ArrayDescriptor descriptor = ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor( "SCHEMAOWNER.MYTABTYP", connection );
    I get the message that USER1.MYTABTYP cannont be resolved.
    null

    We had the same problem. We had also attempted to make use of definer rights permissions, but using JDBC has been restictive in this area. Also in the area
    of defining anchored variables and params (%TYPE).
    Our workaround was to execute java app as owner of the schema.
    Please let me know if anyone has a real solution.

  • K7N2-D-ILSR & LAN problem: resolved!!!

    I have just resolved my problem with my K7N2-Delta-ILSR and onboard LAN conflict, that was not able to connect to Internet! My "ALCATEL Speed Touch Pro" ADSL modem (model number 3EC18904CGAA01) was changed by another ADSL modem brand, "Parks Prestige 600 Series".
    i hope it could help some MSI clients

    Hi,
    It wasn't so much conflicts (although I did mention this) I was interested in, but the hardware items that are sharing IRQ's. This is why I asked how many IRQ's you have - In a correctly installed XP you should have 23 IRQ's (0-22)!
    Also make sure "PNP OS" is set to disabled in BIOS!
    To find a list of IRQ's that you can cut and paste:
    Go to Start>Run> Then Type: "msinfo32" (without quotes).  The "System Information" window should now be open. Click on + "Hardware Resources" in left pane - then on IRQ's in the list that appears below it. You should now see a list of all IRQ's in the left panel! Which can be cut and pasted if you wish.
    As an example here's a list of mine:
    IRQ 0   System timer
    IRQ 1   Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard
    IRQ 3   Communications Port (COM2)
    IRQ 4   Communications Port (COM1)
    IRQ 6   Standard floppy disk controller
    IRQ 8   System CMOS/real time clock
    IRQ 9   Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
    IRQ 10   MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device
    IRQ 11   NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management
    IRQ 12   PS/2 Compatible Mouse
    IRQ 13   Numeric data processor
    IRQ 14   Primary IDE Channel
    IRQ 15   Secondary IDE Channel
    IRQ 16   RADEON 8500 SERIES
    IRQ 18   Creative SB Audigy
    IRQ 19   VideoMate TV Capture
    IRQ 20   Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller
    IRQ 21   Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller
    IRQ 22   NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller
    Yours should be a reasonable facsimile of this one! Notice how the "Network Controller" is not sharing an IRQ
    It is a long shot but it was worth a look!

  • Can't seem to get this problem resolved with Verizon in VA

    Moved from VA in December of 2012; disconnected my residential service the last day of November.  Despite several calls with Verizon; my house lines (2) are still forwarding to my cell phone.  Worse yet, for the 2 years I lived there I was receiving collection calls for the person who owned one of those numbers previously.  So now, those calls are still routing to my cell phone.  Today, somehow, one of those calls came in to my new house line in New York!
    What is it going to take for Verizon to fix this once and for all?!

    I've made multiple calls asking that the line be moved for two reasons: first, because we need to remove some trees  that surround the line; second, the placement of the line was hideous aesthetically.  I've been calling Verizon, no one seems to follow up.  Received an automated call from {edited for privacy} so I sent him an email; received a response from his assistant whose voicemail is always full or not available.  How long do I have to wait?  It seems Verizon has no problem calling me at all hours about my bill but can't seem to respond to problems like this.

  • 10.5.7 aiport express problems resolved - so far :)

    Hello all,
    Since updating my OS to 10.5.7 I have been experiencing frequents drop-outs when trying to stream music through Airtunes from my computers (duocore2 MacBook and 1st gen. intel iMac) to my Airport Express (G). I have past the last 2 days reading threads on Apple discussion board, Mac fixit, Googling, hard-resetting both my Airport extreme (N - gigabit) and Airport Express (G), pram-zapping both my computers, repairing permissions, deleting plist files, cursing all the saints names I know of (my catholic heritage ) to finally have both my computers being able to stream music normally to my Airport Express, without drop-outs. Here's what I've done, I thought I share it with you since this seem to be a common problem:
    Hard-reset both my Airport (by pressing with a pen the little button intended to do so).
    Important: DON'T upgrade the firmware of your airport extreme to 7.4.1, leave it to 7.3.2 (or downgrade to 7.3.2 if you already upgraded), since 7.4.1 is a not ready for prime time firmware update, it messes everything, I repeat, stay away from 7.4.1
    1. Unplug the Airport Express, make sure the Airport extreme (or whatever base station you use) is on and attached to your modem (cable, dsl...). Open Airport utility and set the base station manually (Airport extreme n - attached to my cable-modem, in my case) as follow:
    1st tab (Airport)
    - Base station menu:
    Give the airport the name you want (airportbase, in my case)
    Fill the password fields
    Check "Remember this password in my keychain"
    Leave checked "Set-time automatically" (not important, default I guess)
    Leave unchecked "Allow set-up over WAN"
    - Wireless menu:
    "Wireless Mode" = Create a wireless network
    "Wireless network name" = the same name as the base station (airportbase, here)
    "Allow this network to be extended" = unchecked
    "Radio mode" = 802.11n (802.11b/g compatible)
    "Channel" = 10 (VERY IMPORTANT, THAT DID THE TRICK, my express started to work normally only after I assigned a specified channel to my base station)
    "Wireless security" = WPA2 Personnal
    Fill the passwords field
    Check "Remember this password in my keychain"
    In this menu, there's a button at the bottom named "Wireless options", when clicked a new window appears in which I have the following settings:
    - Country: Canada
    - Multicast rate: 2 mbps
    - Transmit power: 100%
    - WPA group key time out: 364 DAYS
    - Create a close network = unchecked
    - Use interference robustness = unchecked
    - Acces menu:
    Mac address acces control = Not enabled
    2nd tab (Internet)
    - Internet connection menu:
    Connect using = Ethernet
    Configure IpV4 = Using DHCP
    Ethernet Wan port = Automatic (Default)
    Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address
    - DHCP Menu:
    DHCP beginning address = (from drop down list) 10.0 and then (next case) .1 and then .2
    DHCP ending address = 10.0.1.200
    DHCP lease = 364 DAYS
    - NAT Menu:
    enable default host as = unchecked (and next field is empty)
    enable NAT port mapping protocol = checked
    3rd tab (Printers)
    unchanged (the "Share printers over WAN" option is Unchecked)
    4th tab (Disks)
    - I can see my attached external drive name in the Disks menu
    - In the File sharing menu, "Enable file sharing" is checked, "with Airport extreme password" is selected in the "Secure shared disks" drop-down list, "Remember this password in my keychain" is checked, "Not allowed" is selected in the "Airport disks guest access" drop-down list and "Share disk over WAN" is unchecked.
    5h tab (Advanced)
    - Statistics menu: The "Syslog destination Address" field is empty, "Syslog Level" is set to "5 - Notice" from the drop-down list (default?), "Allow SNMP" is checked and "Allow SNMP over WAN" is unchecked
    - Port mapping menu: Empty
    - IPv6 menu: "IPv6 Mode" drop-down list is set to "Link-local only"
    Click Update and wait for the Airport extreme base station to restart.
    After the airport extreme is up and running (green light), restart all the computers that will be using your network.
    Open System Preferences on all the freshly rebooted computer, click on the "Network" icon, select and add your newly created network and click "Apply". Then click the "Advanced" button and go to the TCPIP tab and make sure "Configure IPv6" is set to "OFF" and then click "Apply".
    2. Plug in the Airport Express and open Aiport Utility and set the Airport express manually as follow:
    1st tab (Airport)
    - Base station menu: give the airport express the name you want, fill the password fields and check "Remember this password in my keychain"
    - Wireless menu: Select "Join a wireless network" form the "Wireless Mode" drop-down list. Enter your airport base station name in the "Wireless Network Name" field (or select it from the drop-down list, it should be there, by default, anyway). Select the security (if not already selected after you select your network name - WPA/WPA2 Personnal, in my case), fill the password fields.
    2nd tab (Internet)
    Select "Using DHCP" from the "Configure IPv4" drop-down list
    3rd tab (Music)
    Check "Enable Airtunes.
    In the "iTunes Speaker Name" field, put the same name as the one you gave to your airport express. Don't fill the password fields.
    4th tab (Printers)
    Unchanged (nothing there sinc no printer is attached to my express)
    5th tab (Advanced)
    The "Syslog destination Address" field is empty, "Syslog Level" is set to "5 - Notice" from the drop-down list (default?), and "Allow SNMP" is checked
    Click the Update button and wait for the Airport express to restart.
    After the airport express is restarted (green light), restart your computers, repair permission on all of them and then restart your computers again.
    Now, you should be able to stream music to your airport express.
    3. Finally, next time Apple issues a system update, wait a good month before updating, then go on Apple discussions boards and search for the number of the update, like 10.5.7 in this this case, along with airtunes problems, like 10.5.7 airtunes problems, that's what I will do. Chill!

    Thanks for a very complete and thorough description wiiphone!
    Question about your wireless channel: Are there any other competing wireless networks in your area that led you to choose channel 10?
    If you don't mind doing some experimenting, does changing the channel from 10 to some other (fixed) channel, have any effect? The reason for asking is that I have reason to believe "automatic" might not be desirable, but there ought not to be anything magical about channel 10.
    Please post if you experience any more dropouts. I'm glad it's working for you; I'm just doubtful this will prove to be a permanent fix.

  • On 12/23/11 I update the adobe flash player and have had problems since- unexpected closing and freezing. Remove the adobe flash player and those problems resolved. How do I go back to the earlier version of adobe?

    I was prompted by Firefox to update my adobe flash player on 12/23/11, which I did. Ever since then the web site has frozen and/or crashed. I run a internet business and can't have this continue. I uninstalled the flash player and the problems have stopped. I would like to reinstall the earlier version of adobe, since that didn't seem to impact the web site.
    This is the flash player I installed on the 23rd - Flash Player 10.3 for Mac OS X 10.4-10.5 (Intel)

    Your above posted list of installed plugins doesn't show the Flash plugin for Firefox.<br />
