18 months with the same problem

i decided to post here as another avenue to try and get my phone line/BB sorted once and for all
in about march of 2010 (yes over a year and a half ago) i first noticed a noise on the line, either a hiss or a crackling
at that time i was with TALK TALK but after a year of struggling with them to get this sorted, i switched to BT with the promises that i would NOT have this problem, but still it persists and has even has got worse
it is an intermittent fault, it has been heard by call centre operators and by an engineer but has got to the point where
the crackling can get so bad that the phonecalls are either inpossible or it even disconnects  then rings and reconnects itself all on its own
it also effects the broadband. i used to have a 8mb plus speed with talktalk, which is now around 5mb on a good day, averages about 2.7mb and quite frequently, when the noise reappears on line drops away to 0
in the last 20 months i have had engineers out too many times to recall,well into double figures
even today ive had an engineer out and shock horror no fault found but the previous hiss has gone and my speed is over 5mb for the first time in a long time
is it policy to tell you theres no fault so they can bill you even if there is a fault
i have had sky out to check all the sky boxes and replace there extension lines
i have had my master socket replaced by BT
i have had my sky boxes blamed for the fault but still have the problems when they are disconnected
i have had 4 different routers
i have even gone back to a plain old fashioned direct into the wall phone and still no better
i have even emailed mr ian livingstone and had one of his executive level complaints people on the case, but even no response from here the last few weeks
all this time i pay my bills, with no form of compensation from bt, for all the troubles i have had
no doubt, even though this issue has been reported all over the web by many people, it will never be found, and i will carry on paying my bill, and putting up with a service that goes from bad to worse

After following these instructions, the entire suite was deactivated and now dipalys a message that our trial that will expire in 10 days (in the middle of an upcoming charity event). Is there any way to reactivate CS6? Is the only option to delete all CS programs? Can we download CS6 again with the same product key?

    In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
    That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
    Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
    Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
    While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

  • My Imac 27' screen is shutting off for no reason. The Imac is still running but the screen is black and stay like that. Is there anyone else with the same problem, and does somebody know what is this?

    I had my Imac27' for about 1 year (I bought it january 2011) , and it worked fine. But two days ago a problem started. The screen is turning black suddently, and it stay like that until I reboot it. It's not cool. The first time it happen it was hafter a very long days of video editing, I tought it was to hot. But now I just started up the Imac and 10 minutes later it happen. And now  I transfer my desktop on my second screen, because the one of my Imac is constantly shutting of. What is this? Can I do something about that?

    I´ve came across with the same problem and when I look out for solutions I found out that basically I had Three options
    1.- Dim the brightness to the first 2 dots (that is the limit for me, anything above that shuts down again my screen)
    2.- Replace an expensive part of the screen (about $900)
    3.- Try with an external monitor to see if the problem was the screen or something else
    What I did was to plug my flat screen to my mac with a Mini Display Port to VGA Adapter

    And… Problem Solved! now Im going to buy a Monitor that gonna cost me less than half of the replacement parts, my main monitor will keep siting down if i dim it above the 2 dots but at least I will have the other to work properly

    You can disable autoupdate by following these steps:
    Go to main menu > Tools > Options > click on Advanced tab > click on Update tab and then click on the round radio button that says ''Never check for updates (not recommended: security risk)''

    Yep. Exchanged for black and that solved it. Too much light leaks through the glass on the white phone.

    you can connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode:
    Hold down the Home button and the Power button simutaneously, until the screen goes black and the device turns off.
    Now let go of the Power button, but continue to hold the Home button. Your iPod Touch/iPhone should have turned off and the screen should not be on.
    After around ~10-20 seconds, you will hear a noise (beep/ding) from your CPU as if it had just recognized a new hardware device
    and restore it to default settings, in order to remove your password (or just remove your password directly from the iPod touch, in order to sync with iTunes)

    Another stupid thing, there are so many apple authorized reseller here who offer applecare but again applecare doesn't work in my country. Apple hasn't put my country on the applecare service list. Not even my provider can help repairing my iphone 5 camera. So what's my guarantee thing for? really?
    Since i got my iphone 5 for two months, the camera started indicate some problems. It starts with blinking screen, it turn pink and flickering then freeze. It was still on iOS 7, so i thought by updating will help solving the bugs problem. I have restore it too, nothing really works. Now my camera just a total pitchblack screen that i cant operate anymore and even my flashlight stop functioned too now...

    My phone worked for a maximum of 5 minutes, before lsoing signal. Disabled LTE and it works perfectly. Spoke to some Samsung mates and they had the same problem.
    LTE is not ready!

    Hi,
    since a few days I have always the same message (usually after I switched on the iPhone or after the iPhone was in the docking station and I took it out of the docking station):
    "This accessory is not made to work with iPhone. Would you like to turn into airplane modus to reduce audio interference? You would not be able to make or receive calls."
    After I pushed the button "NO" all the sounds are gone and I'm not able to hear iPod or YouTube without headphones. And people can't hear me very good, when I'm talking to them.
    During the day the iPhone suddenly turns on, then I will get the above-mentioned message, I have to choose between yes or no and then the iPhone turns off.
    I don't know what to do and why I have this message since a few days. I did a reset with iTunes several times now, but I have still the same problem.

    Sounds like either the 30pin connector at bottom (where you plug in) is either failing (has an issue of sorts) or could just be dirty. Clean it up a bit (remove any lint) and see if it continues. If still an issue, make Appt at AppleStore or call 1-800-MY-IPHONE to have it fixed.

    You might get more replies to this (but not from Apple, who you will recall, do not monitor these discussions) if you had posted in the Podcasts for iOS discussions, but never mind. At least in this post you've mentioned that your problem is with the Podcast App, something you didn't mention in your previous post. Consequently, my comments were based on "problems downloading Podcasts", not "problems with the new Podcast App".
    (I don't use the new Podcast App, since I cannot install iOS 5 on my Touch. So I stick with the older method of listening to Podcasts on my iPod.) That said however...
    It cannot have escaped Apple's attention that the new Podcast App has not been well received. Although these discussions tend to focus on what's wrong rather than what's right, it does appear that the App hasn't been well thought out.
    In particular, the Auto Play feature, which - once an episode has finished playing, the "next most recent unplayed episode" will begin. Now, maybe I'm wrong but to me that means that it plays the Podcasts in reverse date order, so episode 19 will play after episode 20 and episode 18 after ep.19! That is how the iPod Classic plays Podcasts by default and the Classic forum is littered with posts from people who think this is barmy. (I think it's barmy too!)
    I use an iPod Touch as well. Although not perfect, playing Podcasts on the Touch is far easier than on a Classic.
    You are unlikely to find any "solutions" to the issues with the Podcast App, because the "solution" is for Apple to redesign it.
    If you are assuming that the update of 25th july is a claim that it's fixed... oh dear! I notice that the App views, shown in the Store, still include that "tortoise and hare" screen with what appears to be the transport mechanism for a reel-to-reel tape deck. That alone tells me there is no real improvement to the App. It really is the worst graphic Apple have ever produced! I'll be surprised if anyone under 35 recognises that graphic as a reel-to-reel tape deck.
    Actually, I have a question for you.
    If you have the Podcast App installed on your Touch, does that mean that the previous method of listening to Podcasts has been removed from your iPod, or can you still access them in the Music App? If you can, abandon the Podcast App and use the old method. If not, please warn me in order that I don't purchase a new iPod Touch until Apple fix this!

    Did you ever figure this out?  I'm having the same problem now... I have a 2008 macbook pro, running mountain lino and it's been doing this.. I tried booking in safe mode and got the same result.  Single-user mode didn't even run, and it just kept starting and shutting down without the screen turning on.  Really weird.
    Anyways, if you found a solution I'd appreciate it if you could let me know.  Thanks
