  • My experience with Credit Line Increase at Capital One

Just thought i'd share my experience (and contribute for the forum) to help those who seek to increase their credit line.  This is just my experience but it seems to work. A month ago i applied for and got two new credit cards after 16 years of NO credit card useage and not so good credit.  I made sure to pay off all debts including student loans and colections accounts prior to applying.  First credit card was a Credit One card with a $300 limit.  I have since cancelled them since the low limit did nothing for me.  I also got a Capital One Quiksilver One with a $3000 limit.  During the month of owning this card i: -Charge EVERYTHING on my credit card.  Made very frequent charges.  I charged everything from a $1 coke at the vending machine to my $2700 rent.  Credit card companies have high charges for merchants, this is one of the main ways they make money.  They will love you if you pay everything with their credit card so long you make your payments in full.-Once you run your balance up as high as your comfortable doing, make a payment even if it's not month end.  Do not go exactly to or over your credit limit!-Make frequent payments.  I made 4 or 5 payments within my first month of having my new credit card.  $2700 charge, payment posted.  $400 in random charges, payment posted.  $250 in random charges, payment posted. Within 3 weeks of me owning my Capital One Quicksilver One, they tripled my credit line from $3000 to $9000.  Whoohoo! That's all.  Enjoy your credit card in good health and with good creditworthness.

  • What's your Discover Credit Line?

Just curious. I've heard that Discover is stingy with handing out high limits.I got my Discover More this September, and they gave me $3500. A bit stingy as my other cards are all between $7k and $12k. When the nice lady on the phone verified some information she asked if that was high enough. I was afraid to ask for more and said it was ok. Maybe I should have been bold and requested more?Anyway, I only spend about $200 to $600 on it per month, so the line of credit is completely sufficient. I hope though that they will raise it in the future. I've read on here that when people redeem $50 of their cashback for statement credit, this will often trigger a credit line increase. So, what was the limit of your Discover when you got it? And, has it been increased (or even decreased) ever since?  Mod Note: This is an old thread that has been revived. • Credit Score Drop & Credit Limit Increase.

This morning I had 7 points drop from my credit score.  This past month I decided to pay off a 10 year student loan early thinking it would help my credit score.  I know it has helped my financial situation but has given my credit score a hit.  I am thinking I got the hit because I closed the account out which significantly lowered my AAOA. I have a auto loan that I am currently paying off and the loan ends in about 2 years.  Ive been going back and forth about paying off this also, but since I got the hit I just decided not to and just wait the 2 years.  In my report I have 1 missed payment waiting to fall off next month, and after that I am pretty set.  I have been also itching for another credit card. At the moment I only have one card which is my Barclaycard.  What are your thoughts on opening up another one? I know it'll drop my score but I am thinking that I need to replace my loan with something beneficial such as another credit card.  I am just not sure if that is a good thing.  This morning I checked my Barclaycard statement and realized that they increased my credit limit.  I started off with $1000 and they gave me a credit limit of $3500.  So my question is how will this affect my credit score?   I am on the road of rebuilding my credit.  I started this road in the low 500's and within a few months I was able to get my score up to the low 700's with the help of this forum and advice.  I would hate to see myself go backwards again.  Any advice would be great.

  • Non Deduction of TDS in Case of Open Credit Line Items in GR/IR account

    Dear Experts,
I would like to request you to please give ur suggestion/advise in the below issue:-
In our earlier legacy system(oracle) we used make provision entry based upon the activity done & certified by respective non finance dept by(against which vendor invoices are not received before month closing):-
On the last day of the month:-
    Handling Exp    Dr
    Ware House Exp Dr
    Other many Exp  Dr
Current Liab & Prov A/c Cr
As per IT dept we have to deduct TDS at the time of crediting the vendor or any other suspense a/c and deposit it by next month by 7th day . To avoid non deduction of TDS against such provisional expenses we used to reverse the same entry on the 1st of next month:-
Current Liab & Prov A/c Dr
    Handling Exp     Cr
    Ware House Exp Cr
    Other Exp           Cr
Now in SAP we r not doing manual entries like above:-
The entries are huge and so many Exp get debited & GR/IR A/c get credited. Thus there is a very much possibility that the IT person or IT Auditor treat it(GR/IR) as suspense a/c and can give comments on his report about non deduction/deposition of TDS.
In SAP there is an option to transfer all these credit open items into an clearing a/c and reverse it in the 1st of next month. But that time entry will be a sunder:-
On the last date of the month
    GR/IR Account   Dr
C/L Prov Clearing A/c  Cr    (It will be created)
On the first date of the month
    C/L Prov Clearing A/c  Dr
    GR/IR Account           Cr
But again C/L Prov Clearing A/c can be interpreted as a supense A/c.
    We need entries like under:-
On the last date of the month let all credit open item of GR/IR as it is.
On the first date of the next month all Credit Line items document to be reversed and again reposting of same on the same day.
I,e all Exp to be credited
         All GR/IR to be debited
(Revarsal of all open GR/IR credit line items) on 1st of next month
On same day again the original entries which are reversed to be created
    All Exp to be deited
    All GR/Ir to be credited.
Whether above is possible, if not then how other companies in India are handling the issue.
    Regards,
    Alok

  • Need to apply a separate credit line item in Invoice doc.

    Dear SAP experts,
Is it possible to apply a separate credit line item on a invoice document to reduce the net amount billed against that invoice and it has to show in invoice ouput form.
    Thanks and regards,
    Hari Challa.

    Hi,
Yes it is possible.create a condition type of discount with access sequence containing Billing document type and say sales org.
And in copy control maintain the pricing type to redertermine pricing. So this condition type will get executed in billing document only and not in sales order.
    Reward points if useful

  • USAA World Mastercard approved $16k, NFCU credit limit increase doubled to $20k!

It's about time ladies and gentlemen!
12.99% for NFCU platinum12.90% for USAA World Mastercard Rewards.
Full USAA member (I think?)  I have Auto, Home, Personal Property Insurance with them.  Also Checking, Savings, Stock account.  Former enlisted, medically retired. I had a Classic card with USAA since 2011.  I didn't know at the time that I couldn't increase the $1k credit limit with that card.  They were charging me a shocking 22.9% apr, but I luckily never carried a balance after the first 6 months of using it.  Usually would charge most of my stuff on it and pay in full.  The NFCU started me off at a $10k credit limit a few years ago and I was really happy with the 12.99% and the first real bigger card.  Everyone else was only offering me $1k and I was very happy with the larger limit.  I do believe that this was also high because I had opened a secured credit card for $10k, yes I had cash at the time but no credit.  I ended up closing that account and getting my money out when the NFCU was accepted.  I truly believe that the lenders look at other credit limits to also base off what they offer you as a credit limit.  Lately though I was getting recked by the high utilization on my NFCU 10k limit as I had just gotten married and luckily we recieved plenty of cash and gifts to cover everything.
So anyways after hanging up with USAA after learning about my classic card with them and not being able to increase credit limit nor change APR, I applied for a USAA World Rewards online and instant approval for $16k @12.9%!  This is going to be my main earn some points and pay in full card.  I just wanted more overhead so that I could spend without worrying about my utilization ratios.  And I've been with USAA for 6 years now. About a few hours after I got the itch to bump up my $10k limit on NFCU, because I had brought the high limit to about $10,125 at one point.  And after lurking for years on this site and reading up on asking for the max limit without review, I did the $25k credit limit increase online.  They countered with $20k!  I accepted!  I just sent a message to see if they could reduce my interest rate and we shall see within the next few days.
Never had a late payment on my report, but was a bad boy at 18-19 years old.  About 3 years ago everything bad off my credit fell off from the 7 year rule.  I had some late payments and such at 18 years old.  I ended up disputing them on annual credit report to verify the numbers are correct and they ended up removing the bad ones luckily!
I want to say my score is in the mid 720s.  But my vantage score that shows on the credit cards is 699, probably due to that high 9k balance on the Navy Fed that hasn't reflected on the reports yet. I do shop at Costco a lot but never had their AMEX.  But was thinking of applying for the Visa rate advantage with USAA to use at Costco.  My mom added me as an authorized user on her AMEX for costco so she could get points.  But I called AMEX and canceled my authorized user account with them a few months back.  I disputed online that I never signed anything and was added on by my mother.  Transunion removed the AMEX and another card I was authorized on (barclays) but experian just reported them as closed.  Wondering also if this hurt my average age of accounts.  My credit sesame shows about 3 years and 6 months for my average age. So currently have my $16k limit with USAA World Mastercard$20k limit with NFCU PlatinumOnly two credit cards as I canceled my $1k limit classic crap card.  Have one car loan open now and one mortgage.  Had many car loans, about 2 car refi's, even had 3 car loans open at one time during my high 680ish scores.  Lots of utilization I guess, they say they hate it, but they secretely love a good comeback story.

Thanks everyone!  Wanted to update that Navy Fed denied my APR decrease and they said I could do it once a year.  Eh, 12.99 isn't too bad. Also wanted to add that I got my first VA loan when I was around 620ish and I brought it up from 580 a few months before.

  • Debit & credit line item clearing in F-53

    Dear All,
Am in the process of developing payment advice for my client, one of his requirement is while making payment against vendor in F-53, he selecting debit (KG) and credit (KR) line items against the vendor and he paying for the remaining amount. But when am checking the entries in table against clearing document, invoice document does not appears there, but showing debit & credit line items which we cleared. But he wants credit line item to appear in payment advice and in deduction he needs debit line item.
Kindly suggest me is there any way out for capturing invoice number for these two line items to appear in payment advice.
    Regards,
    Balaji.c

    Hi IMK,
Am not using SAP std payment advice have developed Y report where the input field is payment document number and against that system will pick the invoice document, for KR & RE, its working fine but for KG where my vendor clearing in F-53 along with KR and for remaining amount he paying to vendor, for this scenario system not showing KG document number against payment document number in table entries.
My issue how to show cleared debit line item in payment advice after doing F-53.

  • Reverse Credit Line item from Profit Center.

    Hello Expets
May any body say how can I reverse a cr line item from profit Center in which extra credit line item came through PO once and through internal order once i.e bcoz in PO there was link once  Profit center as well as Internal order.
If I do through 9kEO,it can be reversed but where will hit other line item i.e which profit center.
Plz plz tell me process how can I reverse that extra line item from profit center.
    Thanks

You will probably find that, in the internal order master data, there is a link to the profit centre. So, if you do not want the costs on the profit centre, you will need to take it off the internal order, remove the link, and then repost. making sure that the PO no longer has the link to the profit centre.
BTW, posting to a profit centre is not an alternative to posting to an internal order, they usually go together.
So why do you not want the posting on the profit centre?

  • Product Upgrade & Credit Limit Increase with Capital One

Upgraded my Platinum Master Cards, I have two, to a QuickSiver Rewards an requested a credit limit increase online only received 500.00 so I sent an email to the Executive Office.  I waited two days received no responce so I called today this is what happened.  Spoke to a gentleman who said he would be my personal credit specialist today I told him that I had upgraded the cards for the rewards and the Visa signiture benefits and requested to increase the limits to 5,000.00 on each.  He told me that I had just been given a credit limit increase and he could do nothing for me.  After getting no were he offered to let me speak to his suppervisor.  Spoke to the suppervisor and ended the call with the same results, she will have someone else call me within 10 days.  My question is this the norm has this happened to others.  The number I called was one I found here in the forum.  I have had both cards for over 6 years and have always paid them on time just never used them much because of the low limits.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You need to wait 1-2 weeks, not days. They have to assist a large number of customers and they are not as big a team as the customer service people. My Cap One card started as a Plat with $500 limit a little more than 2 years ago and now it is at $8k and upgraded to a QuickSilver. Also as others mentioned, you can use the new "Combine cards" tool to combine your multiple small limit cards to a larger, more useful limit.

  • What kind of credit card usage led to a credit limit increase for you?

What type of spending behavior led to your credit limit increases?  (Ie zero balance, high usage with early payments, 9%, 30%, ect).   Were they notable increases?   What time frame did the increases occur in?

As others have noted, there is no set formula, it depends on the lender (and perhaps involves some voodoo or superstition) I got an AMEX Delta Gold card in June 2013, with a $2k limit, and put $4,500 through the first 11 months. Always letting the balance report on the statement, always PIF close to the payment due date. Then purposefully maxed it out twice, reaching $1,800 in early June 2014, then up to $1,300 again in mid-June when they gave my an auto CLI to $3k. My BofA AMEX card, back in the day, had been auto CLI up to $28,800 in April 2008, so I used $21,800 of it. Then they started CLD:Jan 2009, $21,700 (these are all CL, not balances), though the balances were only a few hundred under each step down in CL, the true Balance Chasing scenario)Apr 2009, $20,500Sept 2010, $17,300May 2011, $16,000Jan 2013, $12,700Then in August 2014, I got a 0% offer from US Bank, so I cleared off all the remaining $12k from this BofA AMEX, and in October 2014 moved a total of $10,700 back onto this card on a new 0% 18+ month offer. Proceeded to make some large payments on that. In Feb 2015, got a $3k CLI on this BofA AMEX, from $12,700 to $15,700. Needless to say, it was a good day

The Advanced Bash Scripting document (in [HTML|http://tldp.org/LDP/abs/html] or [PDF|http://tldp.org/LDP/abs/abs-guide.pdf]) would be a good resource for your quest. This document is not specific to Mac OS X, but it's a very good resource and with a wealth of examples.
The O'Reilly +Learning the bash Shell, 3rd Ed+ book is also a good resource and the O'Reilly +Bash Cookbook+ book would seem well-suited for how you approach your postings.

  • Credit Line - Refund

I will keep it as simple and short as I can.
I made a purchase on my Best Buy credit card of $300 for a phone. Within the next few days I made a payment to the Best Buy credit card online for the phone purchase I made (Used my Suntrust debit card to pay it). It processed and was completed. I do have a balance for other products I have purchased in the past (which is on a 6 month finance).
Since the employee credited it back, how exactly will my card get credited back since it's a credit line and not debit? I don't want the refund to pay back what I owe on my credit line.
What actions can I do? Sorry, I am new to this.

    Hello GoProDavidLe-
I am sorry that your purchase was not what you expected and you had to process a return, no problem Best Buy understands!
Purchases made online when returned, are usually processed back to the original form of payment. If you are concern for the payment that you already process on your Best Buy credit card, you will need to speak directly to CitiBank. In my past experiences, the payment that I process usually is credited to my current balance. To reach CitiBank, I encourage you to call 1-888-574-1301. I have a few late payments in a row on my current mortgage, the last one being on October of 2013. From what I hear, lenders are mostly concerned about the past two years. Now, after October 2015 will my actual credit score increase because of that??

so most likely 0 points? That's would I would expect.  Anything more than that would be a blessing.  The late payments are still on your reports and still weigh down your score... although the impact lessens over time... it doesn't vanish.
