5700 Problems

Hi there!!!
I recently bought the 5700 XM and so far its really awseme experience. The phone is worth the money spent and sometimes even more than that. Actually I wanted to know that for the past few days the phone gets freezed after some music palyback and also the music library doesn't recognize the tracks stored in the MMC. I have reformatted the phone thrice but the restarts and frezing presists. Can anyone help me understand why the phone is not functioning properly??
Phone's Firmware is 3.27
Plz reply ASAP.

Well, I have no remedy other than suggestions.
Since this has happened several times, it seems to me you should be able to demand a different card altogether, and I would recommend doing that. I would ring them in the morning and keep trying until you get someone on the phone, and explain the situation.
If you could PM me with all your info such as the previous RMA info, the contact at MSI you corresponded with (if any) and your personal info, I may be able to contact the California office to see if I can at least have an influence in a positive way. I have contacted them a time or two in the past for RMA's and part replacements for myself, I can't promise it will do any good.
That's about all I can do. I know the situation you are in. I have been there many times with other manufacturers, and it is frustrating to say the least. The lessons I have learned in those situations is to remain calm, and be polite, sometimes it works and sometimes it's a complete loss.
Keep me posted, let me know what happens and the RMA number. There is no other remedy, other than to initiate another RMA and the process required may also include talking to a tech..

FX 5700 Problems!

right so ive got an fx 5700 (256 mb ddr)
here's a list of my problems:
1. in games (halo pc, bf1942, freedom fighters, ect.) i have red flickers over polygons, so if there's a guy in front of me, a part on my hand might flash red then go to normal, and then the ENTIRE guy will flash red and then go back, ect.
Quite annoying....
2. when i go to dektop properties then select the MSI tab, i cannot choose AGP 3x, 2x, 8x, and i cant unselect any of the options on the left (not that i would want to). However, I CAN overclock my speeds.
3. i have seen certain screens (but cant remember which ones) that say my card is being detected as PCI -not- AGP. theres the off chance that zuke.com shipped my card as PCI, but i dont think nvidia makes a PCI FX5700.
Can somebody please help me?? I REALLY need AGP enabled so I can squeeze all the juice out of this card for MGS: Substance.
I am fairly knowledgable with PC's (I know BIOS and stuff) but this is really buggin' me.

Well, first off, if your card was a PCI card (which it's not, since the 5700 doesn't come in a PCI flavour), it would have to go into a PCI slot -- is it in a PCI slot (that would be an accomplishment! )
Most likely, your motherboard drivers aren't loaded or are corrupt. Install the latest (or best recommended depending on your setup) motherboard drivers for your motherboard (be it Intel, VIA, nVidia, SiS, etc.).

Fx 5700 problem - the end...

ok, ive just buy a fx 5700, i plugged it ,installed driver (tried msi and nvidia drivers) but after some time (from 0sec to 5 min= my pc hang and my screen goes in economy mode, i must hard reset to be able to do something. this can happen while i browse or if i run directx test or...
so peronnaly i think there are 2 options :
- my card is bad ->back to reseller
- powersupply problem ->not cool

hi DWH,
first i have a question: do you have an asus or an msi vga card? cause if its an asus i will not even try one.
personnaly i am thinking about buying a radeon 9600 pro or an xt, the only problem is that in my country xt are a bit hard to find right now and there are a lot of 9600 pro who are in fact light version (slower ram), so i will think that i will have to wait to have a solution and i will see with my reseller what cards he can have.

read this thread, this guy was having the same kind of problem and has had the same kind of answers (like ooooh its you psu buy a new one wich seems to be the universal answer...)
in the end he has tries a radeon 9600 pro and no more problem.....
so im really starting to think about a radeon (especially when i see the price and the performance who are very good), after the good job of my geforce 2 and the good test of the 5700 i was thinking this was a good card but it seems that this is erroneous. so if you buy a radeon before me just let me know if i find one i will tell you (but one of the resseller i have phoned has said me that 9600 Xt will be available in two weeks (in my country)).

ps: just want to say a final grrrrr about the fx5700 cause its supposed to be windows 98, 4x agp and linux compliant and it crashed on the three (well in linux its not really a crash more a screen instability and if i like programming i dont like solving driver or server X problems)
pps: if someone ( a mod or a members ) has a answers to all our interrogations(or a solution)i will be glad to hear it but personnaly i will not keep a non working card indefinitly

5700 problems with unreal 2004

Hi! I wonder if someone could please tell what to do......
I recently bought a fx5700 VTD 256 video card, and i cannot get to run unreal tournament 2004. Every time I try to run the game, i just get the video from nvidia "the way its meant to be played", then my computer crashes and i have to power down the computer to get to work again (the reset switch dows nothing). I played another games like prince of persia, morrowind and beyond goog and evil and nothing seems to be wrong. I have:
i) MSI KT4 ultra Fisr motherboard
ii) 400 W Power Suply
iii) 40 GB WD hard drive
iii) 80 GB Seagete hard drive
iv) LG dvd-r, LG cd-rw, pioneer 16X dvd drives
I have already installed the 4 in 1 via drivers 4.51 and nvidia 56.72 drivers
Please help, i had to work very long in order to buy this video card...........

Do you also have the latest MB BIOS installed? Its always a good
idea to have the latest BIOS installed, because its known to fix some
compatibility issues!
List your IRQs 0 - 22 !
In all honesty, you might need to consider the power supply in your rig,
it might not be adequate, this is one of the major components that’s
overlooked by many builders home and or professional, when upgrading
there hardware!
If the PSU is inadequate you will experience, lockups, shutdowns, sudden
or random reboots, BSOD, and numerous other instability issues!
This is your Achieve 400W PSU:
3.3v x 22A = 92.4 Watts @100%
5v x 30A = 160 Watts @ 100%
12v x 13A = 156 Watts @ 100%
Total Watts 388.6 @ 100%
388.6 Watts @ 70% = 272.02 Watts
Theoretically you have a 272 Watt PSU!
Your 12v rail might be just on the borderline for your rig to be stable in
graphic intensive 3-D applications! 156 Watts @ 70% = 109 Watts
Barton cores like 75 watts and FX cards like 75 watts, they are known
to be power hungry, which equals 150 watts more or less!
PSU are sensitive to heat, an increase in temp equals a decrease in watts!
Many PSU are misleading and or inadequate, PSU can be very deceiving!
Always buy a quality named brand PSU like a Antec, Enermax, Fortron,
or the best PC Power & cooling!

a great place for you to get started, in this thread there is a link to a
PSU wattage calculator, there you will be able to calculate the correct
PSU wattage your rig will use, remember to add 20% minimum to 30%

Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 not working full on X-Fi please H

I have :
X-Fi Extrem Musik and Inspire 5. digital 5700
Problem : by switching to digital mode i just hear 2.0
but if i watch DvD i have full DD5. and DTS sound
And if I go back to Normal Analog Mode then a can just use 4.0 because the sound system
have just 2 Kabels

Hp Officejet 5700 printer problem

Everything I print comes out small like 4x6 size on the printer. I have an HP Officejet 5700. It worked fined for last several months. Yesterday the problem started. So I went to HP website and download driver again, reinstalled and rebooted. Same thing. This happens with all applications, Mail or Word or even Preview. It looks fine on the screen. Any suggestions?

Try Reset Printing System, a menu choice in Printer Setup Utility above Quit.
You have a corrupted pref file somewhere, and this deletes and recreates them. You will have to Add the printer in Print & Fax/Printer Setup again.

Problem with Nokia 5700's audio adapter

I have recently updated my Nokia 5700's firmware with the newest version. But now I can't use my audio adapter(this thing: http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/7485/adapteryb4.jpg ) which is connected with the headphones. While I listened to music, I tried to press any of the music control buttons but they didn't work. I am sure it is not broken and the problem is from the firmware, because the adapter was perfectly working before the update. Does anyone have a solution?

it's not bacause of the update you did. it's the damned thing itself. Main died several mounts ago. There's a problem with the battery inside the remote control. NOKIA you give all customers new ones through care centers.

Problems faced by me using the 5700

I bought the nokia 5700 a month ago and it has been this way since then. I face a few problems which i wish were added in a update for the firmware by nokia. Is there anyway to inform nokia about this?
Problems faced by me:
1)In the log after switchin the mobile on and after about a day or two when i call from the log i.e pressing green button on a contact or going into options and selecting voice call. Nothing happens. No call can be made from the log. It is very annoying cause everyone directly calls from the log upon seeing the miss call... Though the call can be made from the contacts list and everywhere else, u can dial a number and call. The problem is just with the log(fixed by turning the mobile off then on but eventually the same thing happens)
2)The time and date when set as a screensaver does not appear all the time, the screen maybe blank or time maybe shown.
3)This is going to be very weird, i have a habit of just seeing emergency numbers such as 911 and 112 appear when the phone is locked, when i dial these keys sometimes the numbers appear and sometimes they dont.(again fixed by turning the mobile off then on)
4)This is the BIGGEST FLAW FOR THE 5700 FOR ME, if you have noticed (i dont know abt other 5700's but this is the case with mine) in the log if you have contacts having numbers which can be divided into home ,mobile,etc. When you see the log no matter wherever the call came from you see a mobile icon.This again is very annoying cause you dont come to know where the call came from and after a miss call, u would have to go in options, use number, edit number and then see it. Or by calling and seeing the number for a brief moment. So you can accidentally dial at someones home though you dont want to and even they didnt call from their home.
Anyone having these problems?
Nokia 5700 has been out for 3 months over here i guess we deserve updates for the firmware. Dont we?
And though i get these problems i can still say with dignity that 5700 is cool.
btw If i format do i lose any themes installed on the phone memory? Cause i downloaded this theme from nokia once and you dont get it any more for some odd reason.

Go to Nokia Service nearet your location. Ask them for a solution.

5700, restarting problem

5700 Hardware problems

Hi I have Nokia 5700 music xpress,
I purchased this cell in Nov. 2007, it works fine but after an year there is some Hardware/ software issue.
In this phone when we twist camera is activate and we can take picture. and when we Twist 360 . its work as music player.
When i twist for camera its start music player and when i restore the position , the keypad stop working and I have to restart the phone.
Please help me with this issue.

Problem installing HP Deskjet 5700 driver on my macpro!

Hi Folks,
i've just bought my Macpro and when I tried to install my HP Deskjet 5700, it pops up a few boxes and leaves me alone waiting for hours, has anyone had the same problem?
P.S. The driver CD is good coz I just installed the Windows version to my HP Laptop without any trouble

Nokia 5700 contacts problem

I have a 5700. The other day I was editing some contacts using the PCSuite software, and at one point, when I was trying to save a contact, it said that it can't complete the operation. So I closed the program. But, upon disconnecting, when I tried to edit the contact using the phone, they were all blanks (the 20 or so contacts that were open when PCSuite gave me that error) the rest of the contacts being fine. I can't open, edit, or delete the broken contacts. When I tried using PCSuite again, it wouldn't show me any contacts on the phone, and when I press Refresh, it says it can't complete the operation.
Anyone else have this problem?
I would appreciate some advice. Thank you.

MSI FX 5700 Ultra problem with linux

I know that linux are not officially suported by MSI VGA cards, but NVIDIA based VGA cards use to work under linux. I've got a problem with a recent purchase and until now I didn't found any answer.
Here is my problem, if anyone here have an idea :
I recently upgraded my video card Geforce 2 MX to a Geforce FX 5700 Ultra from MSI (FX 5700 Ultra TD128).
I've an Athlon XP 2000,
motherboard Gigabyte GA-7VAXP, 512 Mb,
distrib Mandrake 9.2
latest nvidia driver 5328
At startup after installation, Mandrake detected a new hardware, but it was not the right card name. The video test failed and X (graphic mode) didn't start.
Back to console mode, I discovered that even the console mode doesn't work properly : I have no cursor and the screen lines don't scroll up when the screen gets full (very hard to type commands or edit files).
I checked the XF86Config-4 : for me it seems ok. Actually, it didn't change from the previous card.
I've no errors in the XFree log (no lines with (EE)).
I went to the MSI site to look for a newer bios version, but there is'nt.
I tried both DVI and VGA connection with my LCD monitor, same thing.
I also tried running Knoppix (liveCD distrib), same prob.
I pasted below the message i've got on screen when I try to start X manually (this doesn't help much either) :
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
It seems to me that this graphic card simply doesn't work under linux.

To get X to work with your LCD during the installation process append nofb as one of the installation options.

Help with geforce 5700 msi video problems

im getting video problems with msi geforce 5700 td 128 im not using the drivers supplied with the card because it messed up my system and couldnt run different res and colours. im using nvidias latest drivers instead. i dont have probs running games and such but the problem comes from playing videos. i tried many types of players and it seems that everytime i play something, it becomes very white and the colours dont match right they warp and such.. please help me

Nokia 5700 Lock Code Problems

Hi All
This is what I do.
Menu - Settings - Phone Settings - General - Security - Phone and Sim - Lock Code
When I select Lock Code it asks me to enter the Lock Code so I enter ANY number over 5 digits, it asks for a new lock code so I enter 67890 (5 digits), Asks to verify so I re-enter it correctly and I get a code error.
If I repeat this process 5 times it says I've entered the Lock code incorrectly and can't do it again for 5 minutes.
It also asks for this code when I attempt to reset the phone to which I enter 12345 and it errors, plus it asks for the lock code when I try to set up a timed phone lock.
If I enter any 4 digit code it just asks for Lock Code again.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

I too attempted to take it to a Nokia Service Centre, who reflashed it but to no avail.
I then took it to an independant mobile repair centre and he was able to resolve the problem.
He advised that the lock code had been changed and they were able to read it (giving me the old code which I didn't recognise) and then resetting it to 0000.
I would have thought the NSC reflash would have resolved this.
