Accept as Solution

Believe it or not, I want to mark a post I started "Accept as Solution," but the button doesn't show.
This question was solved.
View Solution.

Hello nirbok, in any thread that has been marked as an "Accepted Solution", there will be a link in the first post of the thread that says "Go to the Solution".  If you click that link, you will be taken to the Solution.
The actual post that was marked will have a blue vertical line at the left side.
It appears the solution that was marked in the thread above was post #6.

    Hi,
In looking at the posts you participated in, it appears that the thread was started by another user. You can only see the “Accept as Solution” button on thread started by you.
    Hope this helps.

  • Where is the "accept as solution" button?

Guess I'm a dummy. Can't find anything that says that. ;-((

    Hi, samintx!
The "Accept As Solution" option just allows other users who might be browsing through to see which solution worked for you.  It's a courtesy to future users, though not a hard requirement.  If the button isn't there, don't sweat it.  What matters is that your problem was, in fact, solved.
Thanks again for using the Canon forum!

I followed these instructions and it said "Certificate was added to keystore":
    Manually import a certificate
Go to a page on the SSL server in question.

  • Accepted solutions: mark a reply as the right answ...

    Hi all,
we have just added a new feature called "accepted solutions" to these boards.
It means that anyone who starts a new topic is able to mark any given answer as the correct solution. This helps other people who have the same question to find the right answer faster.
All topics that have an accepted solution will be shown with a small icon, and the first post will have a quick link to the solution.
Note that you can do this also with any old topics that you have started. So if you remember any particularly helpful answers from the past, feel free to visit those topics and mark the right answer as the solution.
Solutions will not have any effect on your ranks (sage, professor etc.) but we may come up with new ranks in the future for people who have written a lot of solutions.
Moderators and administrators are also able to mark solutions, but we will not do that systematically (e.g. no-one from Nokia is officially going through and validating any answers).
However, we can mark a topic solved when it's clear from a "thank you"-reply that this was the right answer (starting from today, so please don't PM us a list of your existing answers )
I hope you will find this useful! This is a new thing for us so we don't really know how it will work out - but it seems like a great little feature.

  • Accepted Solutions

    What is an Accepted Solution?
Accepted Solutions are a way for you to choose the reply that best answers a question that you've posted. When you accept a solution, both the question and the solution get special icons and links that take you directly from the question to the answer and back again.
This green ‘solved’ box shows you that a correct answer has been given:
This green tick shows you which post is the answer:
A solved icon also appears on boards and in search results so you can see which messages have solutions. This makes it easy to spot answers to a question you may have but has already been asked and answered by other members of the community.
Who can mark a reply as an accepted solution?
Only the person who originally posted the question (started the thread) or a community moderator can mark one of the replies as an accepted solution.
How do I mark a message as a solution?
If you've posted the original question you have the option to click the 'Mark as Accepted Solution' button on the reply that answers your question best.
What if someone else posts a better answer?
If you change your mind about the quality of the answer, or if another reply provides an even better answer, you can revoke the first selection and accept the second reply.
To change an accepted solution you need to remove the first one by choosing Options > Unmark as Accepted Solution. You can then choose another solution or leave the question unsolved.

If someone answers your question correctly please let other members know by clicking on ’Mark as Accepted Solution’.

the feature wouldn't need to be turned off.   it just needs a "my post doesn't require a solution" button programmed into the system.

  • Message Tags, Kudos, and Accepted Solutions

The Toshiba Forums feature a few ways to make it easier for forum users to find messages of the greatest interest to them by allowing forum members to add information about messages in the form of tags, Kudos, and Accepted Solutions.
    Tags
Tags are any words that help to describe what a message is about.  Each message can have many tags associated with it, and any logged-in forum member can create tags for any message.  Searches in the forums also look at tags when looking for messages to match search terms, so tagging messages increases the value of the messages for all forum members.
Also, as you navigate through most screens of the forums, there will be a "Top Tags" area on the right side of the page.  This tag 'cloud' displays tags that are relevant for your current context within the forums.  Larger font tag terms indicate that a tag is used many times in the current area of the forums, while smaller font tag terms are used infrequently.
To add tags to a message, just click on the red 'Add Tag...' button at the bottom of the message.
    Kudos
Kudos are a way for forum members to express appreciation for any message that they find particularly helpful, informative, or insightful.  Any forum member can give Kudos to any messages, but only one Kudo per message can be given by each forum member.
Each message displays the number of Kudos that have been given to it, so looking at the Kudos count is one way that forum users can identify particularly useful messages.  Also note that the total number of Kudos given in to all messages in a thread appears when you select a message board and view its list of threads.
To add your Kudos to a message, click on the red partial-star Kudos image to the left of each message.
    Accepted Solutions
Many threads will be all about describing and finding solutions for various types of problems that people encounter when using their computers and consumer electronics gear.  The 'Accepted Solutions' feature provides a method for forum members who start threads to indicate when a reply has supplied a solution to the problem that had been experienced.  Each thread can have only one Accepted Solution and only the thread originator (and forum admin staff) can designate a message as an Accepted Solution for the thread.
Messages selected as Accepted Solutions will have a graphical badge indicating that status, and the original message in the thread will include a link to jump down to the Accepted Solution.
The Tags, Kudos, and Accepted Solutions features are provided to help forum users find the best of the best information here in the forums.  Please use them as often as you find appropriate.

  • How do I download the solution center to my HP Touchsmart 310 pc

I have a HP Touchsmart 310 PC with the Windows 7 operating system.  Back in January I started having trouble logging in on my page.  I was the only admin on the pc, so I could not access certain information or make any changes to the computer.  I finally erased everything in the computer memory and started over from scratch.  I have an HP Photosmart printer that I use, but when I re-installed the software, it did not include the hp solution center, so I can't scan any documents or photos to my pc.  I need help!

    Hi,
Please let us know what is your printer, hope we can help.

  • Solution center will not recognize J4680 in wifi

My J4680 will print a document in wifi so I know my computer and printer are communicating.  I have reinstalled the software and I am still able to print.  However, when I open HP Solution center to check ink level or scan an item it will not recognize the wifi printer.  It will recognize it as if I have the USB connected.  This defeats the purpose of having wifi options if I cannot communicate with the printer except to print.  I cannot even run diagnositics like cleaning printer heads etc because HP Solution center will not communicate via wifi.  Solutions?

That link is not working for me at the moment either @judomax , perhaps if you wait it out for a few hours or a day it will be back up and running. It is possible there are changes being made to the page. It would be nice it if said "under construction" or something of that sort, but in the meantime I guess we sit and wait.
I will keep you posted if the link is no longer valid and the Print and Scan Doctor link changes. I will keep an eye on it.

  • HPD110a - HP Solution Center does not find printer

    Changed internet service provider.
Now my printer has new IP address.
By opening my browser to the new address, I am able to scan
Also able to print from Windows 8.1/64 with the printer installed.
    But,
Cannot scan from printer using the "Scan to PC" button.
Also cannot use HP Solution Center or HP AiO Printer Remote,
because they cannot find the printer. They seem to be stuck on a previous IP address.
I dont find a  way to change the printer IP address in these tools.
The scan command issued from browser with the IP address does not enable me to scan more than 1 page at a time
(ie does not handle multi page docs)
    Very inconvenient.
    Please help
PS All software is up to date

Hi @herozero , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're experiencing connectivity issues.  I would like to try and assist.
I would recommend performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also suggest downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Will a Presario V5120NR accept ECC (vs non-ecc) memory modules?

I cannot find anything down to that that particular level in the specs on the HP website for this particular model. I know it is DDR PC2700 333, but that is a much as I can find/glean. The original memory modules currently installed in the machine (2 256mb) don't indicate either on their stickers.
    Thanks!

  • Problem with installing Solution Center for a HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer - C309g

    Hi folks,
I've searched many threads and found some directions to remedy this, tried them and have had no luck.
I'm running Windows 7.  All updates are current.  When I bought the printer I installed the software (on Windows 7 OS) from the disc and everything was fine.  Fast forward a year and Solution Center stopped working.
Uninstalled all HP software to reinstall.  I was only able to reinstall HP Update.  I was able to load the basic drivers for print and scan, but not the entire software suite including Solution Center.  The installation stops abruptly after "installing updates".
I even downloaded and tried "PS_AIO_06_C309g-m_USW_Full_Win_enu_140_175" and got the same result as the original installation disc.
What can I do with my printer (HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One Printer - C309g)???
    Thanks,
    Alex

  • HP Pavilion g7 can't find or re-install HP Support Assistant & HP Solution Center

After a week or so ago, I discovered my printer could no longer scan. Made several (& I mean several) attempts at following the instructions to install the full driver for my HP Photosmart C7180 printer.
I then ordered the full drive CD for Window 7 (64) from HP and I am still having problems.
After going around and around trying to get it to work; uninstalling and re-installing everything listed in the Support & Downloads on the HP website. I discovered both my HP Support Assistant and my HP Solution Center are no longer on my computer. They won't re-install either following the instructions per HP Support & Download on HP's website.
I have no clue how to get things straightened out.
The most frustrating thing is there seems to be many other people with printer/scan problems even with other printers. Everything I have read so far as a solution to their problems is the same thing I have been trying to do.
    Someone please enlighten me?

  • Dual monitor set up and problems/solutions?

I have just started to do event photography using 17" MBP running Aperture 2.1.3, a 23" ACD and Nikon D3 with Elinchrom DLite4s and printing to a Mitsubishi CP9800.
First event when very well, but as anticipated it threw up some problems. Some I'm probably just being dim about but I thought I would pose the questions anyhow and see how we go?
I tethered the D3 to the MBP which was displaying through the ACD so the punters could see nice big images… but this meant my colleague (who was shooting) got no preview of what he had shot. We overcame it by him quickly spinning the monitor to look see for positioning purposes.
I messed around a bit with some of the tethered options and found it easier to have the Auto-select uncrossed so that when punters were viewing I didn't keep losing their selection to each new picture taken (obvious I know, but it took me a short while to work that out).
So what I want to know is… is there anyway to have the preview only on the second monitor and maintain ALL the functionality on the first display?
In other words, so that we can cross Auto Select on the Tether HUD, he then sees every new image as he shoots it on his monitor (the second monitor that is, turned to face him 24/7), whilst I can use the MBP display (or maybe an additional ACD) to select images, edit and most importantly print (as that is where the dough comes from) without affecting his display.
I've managed to get it functioning so that I have the Main Viewer set to Browser Only whilst the Second Viewer is set to Alternate. This gives me exactly the look and layout I need, except when I click on an image to either edit or pint, it comes up in his display also?
Sorry for the really long winded explanation there.
Or is it something I'm doing wrong with the D3 and the USB set-up - I thought there was only one way that could be configured???
Would appreciate any help you can as next gig is on Thursday - lots of 16 y o girls in posh frocks
    Regards
    Andy

You have a choice to make.
You can use two video outputs on the video card or the single video output on the motherboard. You cannot use both.
I suggest using the DVD output on the video card and an adapter in the HDMI output on the card. The only problem is that using an old school VGA monitor won't work on the video card outputs since it needs to output to digital display devices. If you want two displays from the video card ,then you will probably need to purchase another LCD display to connect to the video card.
It is probably time to consider putting the old VGA monitor out to pasture. Its time has come and gone.

  • Windows 8 Quick Solutions

Windows 8 was released on October 26th for all to enjoy! Check out the below Frequently Asked Questions for more information and quick troubleshooting.
    1. I've just upgraded to Windows 8 but I'm having a few problems. What's going on?
When upgrading to the latest system Microsoft has done their due diligence to ensure that most hardware components will be compatible; but with all of the thousands of variables out there, it's next to impossible to predict which configurations will have issues. Find your Computer Manufacturer on the list below and check for the latest Windows 8 updates to resolve most issues.
HP Windows 8 Upgrade Information  -  HP's guide to making sure your Windows 8 goes smoothly.
HP Support & Drivers  -  Enter your model number to find the latest software and support for your upgrade to Windows 8.
Dell Support  -  Enter your service tag number located generally on the top for desktops and on the bottom for laptops. If you can't locate it, don't sweat, just use the option to "Automatically detect my Service Tag for me" and Dell will attempt to get your information from there.
Acer Windows 8 Upgrade Offer  -  For Acer computers purchased between June 2nd 2012 & January 31st 2013.
Acer  -  Use the list to determine if your model made before June 2nd 2012 requires various updates to get you up and running on Windows 8.
Gateway Windows 8 Upgrade Offer  -  For Gateway computers purchased between June 2nd 2012 & January 31st 2013.
Gateway  -  Use the list to determine if your model made before June 2nd 2012 requires various updates to get you up and running on Windows 8.
eMachines Windows 8 Upgrade Offer  -  For eMachine computers purchased between June 2nd 2012 and January 31st 2013.
eMachines  -  Use the list to determine if your model made before June 2nd 2012 requires various updates to get you up and running on Windows 8.
Samsung  -  Follow this link and check for a compatible model in order to upgrade to Windows 8. If compatible, use the website for up to date drivers and software.
Sony  -  Scroll down and follow the instructions to see if your computer is supported for Windows 8. If compatible, use the website for up to date drivers and software.
Lenovo  -  Choose your product for available driver downloads for Windows 8.
Asus  -  Select either Notebooks & Eee PC's, All-in-one PC's, Tablets, or Desktops & EeeBox PC's. Use this list to determine if your model is compatible with Windows 8.
    2. I've lost the internet after upgrading to Windows 8 using an AMD processor. How can I get my internet back up and running?
Losing the internet is akin to losing the keys to your Porsche. You have all that power but can't go anywhere. The most common reason for this is missing the necessary drivers needed to run your Wired or Wireless Internet card. Follow the links above to check with your computer's manufacturer for the latest updates. They will be listed typically under Networking and labeled as "LAN" for wired connections and "WLAN" for wireless ones.
If after updating you still cannot access the internet, it's possible your card may not be supported. Check in with your local Best Buy to speak with a Geek Squad Agent about the best solution possible.
    3. My screen got smaller after an upgrade to Windows 8 and I'm using an AMD video card. How can I fix it?
The first step to getting back out that glorious visual real estate is to check for the latest updates on your video card. You can do so by following the links below.
AMD Video Card Updates Windows 32 Bit
AMD Video Card Updates Windows 64 Bit
Not sure if your using a 32-Bit or 64-Bit system? Press the Windows Key (Between Ctrl & Alt at the bottom of your keyboard) and the R-Key (Between E & T) to bring up the run menu. Then type "MSinfo32.exe" without quotes and press enter. A new window will come up called System Information. Under System Type on the right you will see either on of the following:
    x86-based PC        (You have a 32-Bit version)
    x64-based PC        (You have a 64-Bit version)
Updating the software should allow you to see more information on the screen. If it doesn't work, you will need to increase your screen resolution. You can do this by following these steps:
Press the Windows Key & R key at the same time. Then type "desk.cpl" without quotes and press enter. The Screen Resolution will show up. Navigate to the Resolution and move the slider all the way to the top from 800 x600 (You may have a different number at the bottom than 800 x 600). Once done, click Apply. DO NOT click Ok first for any reason. After a few seconds, your screen will adjust and ask you if it looks ok. If it does, click on yes. If it doesn't, move the slider to a lower position and press Apply again to repeat.
Once everything looks alright (and only then) press the ok button to save the changes. If it's still not looking right, contact Microsoft, the Manufacturer, or Geek Squad for additional troubleshooting.
     4. When trying to upgrade or install Windows 8 I'm receiving an error code that states "HAL_INITIALIZATION_FAILED". What's going on?
Don't panic, you're not reliving 2001: A Space Odyssey. The reason you are encountering this error is because one or more of your components inside the PC may not be compatible with Windows 8, so to prevent any possible harm Windows 8 is stopping the installation. Click here to download the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant directly from Microsoft to check your computer to make sure it can be upgraded.
If the upgrade assistant informs you that you can't upgrade, there is an option that you can try to attempt to get past this. You will need to update your Motherboard's BIOS with the latest firmware. You can find the links to do so in the first section. If you don't know how to upgrade your BIOS, the best option is to have one of our Geek Squad Agents take a look at your system to see what can be done to get you upgraded.
     5. How can I take advantage of the Windows 8 upgrade offer for $14.99?
If you purchased a computer between June 2nd 2012 & January 31st, 2012 you may be eligible to receive Windows 8 upgrade for $14.99. For more information, click on this link.
     6. I can't seem to find the control panel or the option to shut down. Where are these located?
With the introduction of the new Windows Metro Desktop comes an easier way to access some of most commonly used features. The first thing you want to do is access the Charms bar. You can do this in one of two ways.
With a mouse: Move your mouse to the top right corner of the screen, then move it down.
With a Touchscreen: Swipe in from the right edge of the screen.
Once there, you're given the options of Search, Share, Start, Devices, and Settings. Choose Settings and a new list consisting of Desktop, Control Panel, Personalization, PC Info, and Help will appear. You can access the control panel to effortlessly change around system settings. Also, underneath the PC info and Help, there's the Power button. From there, you can shut the computer off, put it to sleep, or set it to hibernate.
    7. How do I navigate through all of my Windows 8 applications?
With Windows 8 it's never been more simple to find any application or file. First, go to the Charms Bar (as outlined in section 7 above) and click on Search. Once there, you will see a listing in alphabetical order of all of your installed applications. Just click on any one of them to get them started. You can also use the Search by typing the name of what you are looking for, and Windows will attempt to instantly find it.
     8. What can I do to make sure my application or hardware device will work with Windows 8?
Most of your programs and hardware from Windows 7 will run just fine when installed on Windows 8. To check to see if you application or hardware is compatible, follow the link below and type in the program's or hardware's name to see if it should work after upgrading.

    Hi @Ray_831
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I am happy to help you with your sound problems. It seems like the problem is localized to your internal speakers, as the output audio does work. It could be a problem with a physical connection, and I would like to send you the service and maintenance guide, but I will need the full product number to find the correct one for you.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
From what you wrote it looks like you have already done most of the common fixes, but you can look at these, just in case something was missed.
No Sound from Speakers (Windows 8)
    From Microsoft's support website:
Automatically diagnose and fix Windows audio playback problems
If none of those helped, then you can either post the model number so I can get you the maintenance manual, or you can try calling into the technical support line at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.
