Action: can a Connection Line follow the moving objects

Dear members of this forum,
I am currently discovering the possibilities of Apple Keynote, and I find it very interesting. I just registered and would like to ask my first question.
Using "Connection Line" I can connect two objects (like two rectangles), and in this way, I can move these objects when changing my slide without worrying about the line ending up in the wrong place.
But what if I want to use animations and let those objects move during the presentation? I cannot find any way to force Keynote to make the endpoints move along?
Do you have any suggestions?

Seems my last post got cut off at the bottom. Here is the rest:
When you select the second action, you will get the option to have it happen Automatically with build 1. Then do the same for the third action. The result will be all three objects moving at the same time to where ever you told them to move to.
As for grouping two objects and a connecting line, I don't think that you can do that within Keynote. What you can do though is select all three objects and copy them. Then open Preview and command n +(or File>Get new from Clipboard)+, copy and paste back into Keynote. Basically it turns the three individual objects into one pasted .pdf. The problem is you can not edit each individual object then. The plus size is it allows you to add a scale action along with the move if you want and you don't have to worry about the connecting line not connecting anymore.

Cannot delete exe files - The action can't be completed because the file is open in Windows Explorer

We have received 3 new computers with Windows 8.1. All of us 3 have the same problem: we cannot delete exe files with message "The action can't be completed because the file is open in Windows Explorer"
For example, I download skypeinstall.exe on desktop, install the program correctly and then try to delete the file: file is in use by Windows Explorer, cannot be delete.
We reboot computer, we are able to delete the file. But, if I restore the file from the recycle bin on the desktop, I cannot delete it again until I reboot the PC. I used ProcessExplorer to see what is locking it and I can see 5 instances of explorer.exe
locking the file.
I can always reproduce the same way:
1-Reboot
2-Delete exe file
3-Restore file
4-Delete stop working and 5 explorer.exe handle are locking it.
I have tried the following so far after reading multiple threads:
- De-activating Windows Search service
- Activating User Experience service
- Deleting from command prompt (no success)
- In folder options: inactivate display icon on thumbnail and activate always display icons, never thumbnail
- Changing folder view (contents, detail, small icons...)
- Using Lock Hunter - not working until reboot
None of these worked.
We all have Windows 8.1 with Crucial SSD drive, could the problem be linked with the SSD drive incompatibility?
Any help would be appreciated.

Please try to make a clean boot for your system, then check if this problem resolved.

If problem persists, try to open Resource Monitor to check handle of Explorer.exe, if there any exception, end them for test.

We are all itunes users just like you.
If you are transferring from Mac to Mac, then copy the entire itunes folder.
You can also type :" move itunes library" into the google search bar for directions.
Since you do not mention exactly what you have tried and what happened, it is difficult to offer much more.

My screen freezes after a few seconds on my iphone 5c and the display fades slightly so you can see faint lines in the background. I'm not sure whether this is easily fixable or a major problem. Have reset the device, but this has worked. Any ideas?

Can't connect wirelessly to the Internet

Hi all,
hope someone can help me with this.
I'm running OSX 10.3.9, have an ADSL Nation X-Modem and AirPort Express.
My wireless network is up and running, I have strong signal and AirTunes can connect and play fine wirelessly.
However, when I try to open Safari and connect to the Internet, it doesn't connect ("Can't find Server.")
When I plug the X-Modem direct into the Mac with the Ethernet cable, I can connect to the internet fine, so the modem and cable don't seem to be the problem. I've tried running throgh the AirPort Express SetUp Assistant and restarted AirPort and rebooted everything many times. In Network Preferences, it says it's happily connected, has IP address etc, but I still can't connect wirelessly to the Internet?
Any help greatly appreciated!

OK, here it is again
First you plug the Ethernet cable from your Internet modem into the AE. Then plug it in. The light will go amber. Run the Airport Setup Assistant. Create a new wireless network. Call it what you want. Enter the information about your modem, in the fields just like you do for your Ethernet connection on your PC or Mac. This means DHCP or static IP and subnet..... most if you use DHCP will be filled in for you. Now that you have saved the info and the AE has restarted, look for the network that you named in the available networks. If you have set it up to dish out IP addresses, it will give you one. If you have started out with WEP or WPA the connection process is much more difficult at first.
I leave it wide open until I can connect to it and then I create MAC access lists. I'll leave all the security stuff to you after you get it working basically.
Run Airport Admin Utility. It will scan the area for AEs and AEBSs and you can select yours from the list. Click on configure. Here is where you set all the details up on how you want it to work. Here you can configure the details, place your securities etc. Notice that you are accessing it wireless and then you can go through the various Tabs to configure how you want it to operate.
There is an Internet tab. This will show you how it is configured. It should look the same as your NIC parameters did when you hooked straight to the modem. There are also many more tabs that allow you to configure each area, like do you want it to be the gateway of your network, dish out IP addresses etc. My advice is to let it do that if more than one machine will connect and you don't require defined addresses to get to say a server.
The two important areas are the Internet and the LAN area. These tell it how to interact with your modem, and the machines trying to connect to it. If the AE doesn't see the modem or can't interact with it, one of the parameters is wrong. Same goes for the LAN side of things.

In non tech language if you have a bell Internet thing then you just go to settings and wifi and it should show something like bell... And if you have something else then there's a big chance you would need a wireless router. Go to the source they have cheap ones.

DaNI following a moving object using it's ultrasonic sensor

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone would be able to point me in the right direction/ help me out.
Is it possible to program daNI to follow a moving object throught the use of it's ultrasonic sensor?
I ask as i aim to (hopefully) create a platoon of daNI using this program.
So far I've seen an awesome example of a daNI platoon from the UCLA Mechanical Eng. department, found here:

If i read correctly, UCLA used an infrared sensor to get the daNI to follow each other.
My project aims to have a lead daNI that follows a specified path (or even just a straight line) and the following daNI will use the program I'm requesting further info for.

I think the examples in that link are using the ultrasonic sensor, you can see the little sensor moving left to right on top and they have placed a sheet of paper to get a good 'bounce'.
Getting a daNI to follow in a straight line should be fairly straightforward as you can get a distance and use that as feedback for your motors. I think using daNI's onboard sensor to follow a curved path would be quite difficult. In the linked video you can see that the robots are quite slow as they have to perform an entire sweep of their sensor before they can act. Traditional following systems use 2 sensors placed a distance apart from which you can measure the intensity of a sent signal and therefore calculate a rough position.

Camera following a moving object

Hi all,
Im trying to make a little game in Java3D and im stuck on the following problem
I create a world with a moving car in it. All works fine and i let the car move using KBRotPosScaleSplinePathInterpolator.
This all works very fine, the thing is is that i want to add a camera the program which follows the moving car so that we get a 3d person look. Like we have in Grand Theft Auto for example. Any pointers or perhaps an example on how to accomplish this?

Try to get the TransformGroup of the viewPlatform, the use it as a target of any Interpolator as u desire.

When making a slideshow in iPhoto some iTunes files can no longer be found (cannot find link). How can I relink iphoto to the moved itunes files?

I am Using Iphoto 09 ver 8.1.2 & itunes ver. 10.2.2 in this situation.
I have recently moved my iphoto library & Itunes library files to a large external hard drive.
I have successfully set the computer to read / run both libraries from the hard drive & they are working well as a stand alone. ( I Have done this before)
Unforntualey this time I foolishly moved some itunes album folders around from compulations / various artists into the main media file before checking into what the ramifications would be.
After searching on here I learned that was not advised as itunes would not be able to automaticly find them since I moved them.
In itunes clicked on some of the exclamtion marks of the songs that I moved & linked them up to the main media folder so they could be now found by itunes. I believe itunes asked to look there in that location for all missing files & I selected that option.
It appears to have worked as when I click on them in itunes they now play.. yeah!
But now I am finding that when I try to add certain songs for slideshows in iphoto & imovie that those moved songs cannot be found by those programs :-(
( I assume the same would be true for iDVD)
So my questions are... Is there now a way to have those other programs find the moved songs?
I do have a older backup of my itunes media & I can try & move the album folders back to the original place they where by comparing the two but it is a very large library of 40k songs... so I thought to ask the knowledge & wisdom of the community before I attempted any further fixes.
It would take a bit of time but it could be done & I don't want to just use the older copy of my itunes as I have made many additions of albums to the library & added allot of album artwork as well. (Stuff that "itunes" & "tune up" couldn't automatically find)

Try the following: delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Also delete the com.apple.iApps.plist file from the same Preferences folder. Then launch iTunes and then iPhoto. See if that will restore the links.

I can see my mac in "Back to my mac" but I can't connect to share the screen

Here is my set up:
At home:
Modem ---ethernet---> Airport Extreme ---ethernet---> Macbook (10.7.3)
Back to my mac turned on in iCloud
NAT port mapping turned on in Airport Utility for the Airport Extreme
Macbook is plugged in and set to NEVER go to sleep
Wake for network access is turned on
Screen sharing is turned on and set up for one user with a password
I've tested screen sharing on the local network with my wifes MacBookPro and it works
At work:
iMac also running 10.7.3 and connected to same icloud account
Finder set to show "Back to my mac" in "shared"
I can see my macbook in the shared section of finder on the imac and it shows "share screen" as an option, and not "connect." I don't have anything other than "screen sharing" turned on in "sharing" settings on the macbook, so this is how it should look. This looks exactly the same as when I tested it on the local network with the MBP.
However, when I click "share screen" I get connecting to "Jimbob's Mac" and rather than the usual prompt for a password, I get:
Connection failed to "Jimbob's Mac"
Please make sure that Screen Sharing (in the Sharing section of System Preferences) is enabled on the computer to which you are attempting to connect. Also make sure your network connection is working properly.
Any help or tips on what I need to reconfigure would be appreciated.

probably you've seen this before, but I haven't had any success in finding the right answer.
Question is, can I connect the VMs, living on a host with a single physical NIC, to the Internet?
I need to set up 3 VMs (same LAN) to connect to the Internet through the host, but the host has only one physical NIC.
Is it possible?

Yes. A single nic can share host and vm traffic.
We have our servers set up with a single nic (in our case, a virtual nic that represents a team of 2 nics) which shares vm and host traffic.
Edit: Sorry, I did forget the multiple vm part. Akshay is right, we have many vms sharing a single external virtual switch. You will also need to make sure "allow management operating system to share this network" is checked so the
host can access the network.

Bridge an AirPort Express from an Extreme connected to a Motorola DOCSIS 3 cable/modem/gateway via an ethernet cable? Can I connect ethernet to the Express to setup/handshake/coordinate, and then unplug the ethernet cable from the Express?

In other words, does the AirPort Extreme NEED to be the device connected to the coaxial cable, or can I connect that cable to the Motorola SBG6580 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem/wireless gateway? (My Internet provider requires DOCSIS 3.0 for speeds above 12 megabits/sec.)
Will the Airport Extreme "program" the Express via an ethernet cable, and than the cable can be removed?
The "bridge" or "repeater needs to be quite a distance away from the physically connected cable modem/wireless gateway and the ethernet- connected AirPort Extreme, and we have wall-to-wall carpeting, and the walls and ceilings are off-limits (family politics), so a looooong ethernet cable is out of the question.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

P.S. The 802.11 in my house (ground floor, about fifty feet away from the modem; in the living room about 35ft away *****! And Motorola touts this wireless gateway as having amazing coverage (360, I think they call it),but in fairness, this house is old and has a 5 hanset cordless landline and a microwave and a fan, etc., etc., etc......

I have an issue with my 3G connection: my iphone can't connect anymore to the data network even though I have a contract with unlimited internet access and the date/3G is turned ON. Anyone knows this problem ?

This problem showed up a few days ago. Even though I have turned on the 3G and the cellular data, my phone tells me there is actually no connection. But the network indicators shows a maximum network. I went to the genius bar and they fixed it by restoring the phone and it started working again. Then I restored it at home with my back up. Today, it started again: network issue. And the problem does not come from the network (I have tried my sim on another iphone with the same carrier). It really does come from the device.
Any ideas ?

Can I connect things to the abort button?

I need to cut power to my instrument and to do this I need to turn a digital pin low. I want to do this if at any time the abort button is pushed. Is this possible?

And to add to the other two, you cannot connect anything to the abort button. It does not run any code when pushed, but just stops everything right away.
