Activation day for home broadband

today is my home broadband activation day yet still not on been waiting near 3 weeks from signup is there anyway to find out if there is any problems 

Have you received the router?
What does it say in the Internet section on the initial Status page of the BrightBox? Omit your BB Username.
What lights show / don't show on front of router (count them off)?
Is this for ADSL BB or Fibre? BrightBox 1 or 2?
Does the phone work? Do you get a dial tone? Does it announce your correct no. when you dial 1470 17070?

    I have been led to believe that yesterday the broadband I had orderd would be active, its not!  I odered my phone line on the first   of March and it was installed last week (three months later). I have always been a cable customer and I sort of expected shody services from BT but this is shocking! When I orderd cable in my previous address it took 1 day for the equipement to arrive and guess what? it worked as soon as I connected it.... as soon as I can I will be swapping back to cable!     I'm sorry for the delay connecting your broadband service.  Have you spoken with anyone since you posted this?  If you're still having problems drop a reply back on this thread and I'll give you steps you can take to come through to us here and we'll help get you sorted.

  • Activation day today and Broadband isnt active :(

    Hello,
    Today (30/03/2011) is our Phone & Broadband activation date.
    The phone is active and we can make outgoing calls and incoming calls- however I am going to phone in and change the number.
    However... Our Broadband connection doesnt work
    The Hub 3's Broadband light is flashing ''Orange & Purple'' unable to connect to the internet.
    Have I waited long enough or should I wait longer???
    Seems odd that the Phone works but the Broadband does not.

  • Red B on Hub - Activation Day

    Today is my activation day for BT Services. I setup the BT hub this morning and it went through the flashing rigmarole as per user manual before finally turning red.
    I have my splitter plugged into my test line and there is a normal dial tone on my phone hand set. I just received an automated phone call saying that my phone line is activated, however the red broadband sign persists.
    Just changing over from Sky who stated the service would stop on the 8th, which it did in the early hours. Am I just waiting from something at the BT end?

    It can take up to 24 hours for the broadband to become active, longer if it was a phone and broadband provide, as the phone has to be working before the broadband can be commissioned.

    You have 10.6 on that machine, I suggest you stick with it for performance, third party hardware and software reasons as long as possible.
    Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)

    1: Software Update fully under the Apple menu.
    2: Check the status of your plug-ins and update (works for all browsers) also install Firefox and see if your problems continue. You should always have at least two browsers on the machine just in case one fails.

    you could try contacting sky and see what the delay on releasing your line is other than that it is back to the help line

  • 24 Days for Inifinity Installation?!?

    So I've just moved into a new house and I'm trying to set up BT TV + Infinity 1 + Calls...
    After ordering yesterday and selecting an installation date of Thursday AM (and then taking time off work for it). I recieved a number of emails, all a little contradictory. It seemed the installation date had been moved back to 9th July.
    I followed the instructions on the email to rearrange this date. Since doing that the order has completely dissapeared from my account.
    The call centres have been as helpful as usual and have not been able to give me any reason for this. It seems like the phone will be activated on Thursday but broadband and TV will not be activated untill 9th July.. (I have no idea if I need to take this day off work to let the engineer in or not).
    Thats 24 days (19 working) to install broadband. Surely thats not normal. The process has been so difficult so far that I'm seriously considering cancelling the order. If it's this difficult to do something simple what will it be like if I have problems.

    It sounds like an Openreach technical delay at the street cabinet /exchange this can happen occasionally happen changing providers will not resolve the problem just put you to the back of Openreach's work stack

  • Activation day today and internet not working

    Hi We have Sky TV and have just transferred to sky unlimited broadband and land line today. I've plugged everything in OK and the landline is working.The internet light isn't on but my phone can pick up the hub on the wifi settings.  Does it normally take a while for the broadband to kick in ? Thanks

    Your connection could be down anywhere from 15 minutes to all day there is no set time frame unfortunately on activation day.

  • Create an Activity Report for Current Week

    I would like to create a activity report for the current week. The trick is that if the weekday is Wednesday or earlier (Sunday being the first day of the week), the report shows last week's activities; but if the weekday is Thursday or later (Saturday being the last day of the week), the report shows the current weeks activities.
    I have a filter that works in Access but does not seem to work in Siebel. It does just what I explained above:

    This gave me the sunday of the week. You should be able to modify this format for your purposes.

    I got some more info that may help.
    I put a cd on my laptop, and was able to share it to my computer... So the problem is only from my computer to my laptop. I tried the firewall thing and it did not help. I read the rest of the trouble shooting page, and nothing else applies. iTunes is an execption and already was. I can not think of anything else being my problem. Do you think I should re-install iTunes or would that be a waste of time? At this point I am about to just call Apple for some help because I am getting to stressed over this.

    My MacBook works fine wifi everywhere except for home.  The home wifi is fine with the iPad and iPhone, so I assume the issue is with my computer.  My computer works fine on wifi networks elsewhere.  The only problem is at home.
    The computer "connects to the wifi," but browsers and other internet-dependent software do not work.  Curiously, if I connect the ethernet cord that doesn't work either. Usually if I reset the modem to factory settings twice (for some reason, once doesn't do the trick), my computer will fully connect to the wifi.  However, in a few days, it goes back to not working.
    Today, resetting the modem didn't work. I could only get wifi connection while in safe mode, but not in normal mode.  So, the issue seems to be software not hardware. I have tried starting new accounts in normal mode, but those also don't connect properly to internet.
    Not sure if this is relevant, but this problem started when my building switched internet providers from ComHem to Telia (I live in Sweden).
    What do you recommend I do?

    Not unless the modem is causing a problem.
    What you want to do is get it to work reliably over Ethernet first, then tackle wifi. Power off the modem. On your macbook, delete the Ethernet configuration and the Wifi configuration. Power up the modem, then connect the mac via Ethernet. Create the new Ethernet configuration and see if you can connect.

  • How bad is it to have 4 network mounts for home folders?

    I am the tech curriculum guy at a middle school and also manage the servers. I am not an expert at all. Learn enough to make it work efficiently. We got a new server (intel). I am in the process of migrating all the users, groups, home folders and data etc. Had some problems so I called Apple, in my discussion with the tech support there (3-4 hours solving problems) one of the techs questioned my setup. Here is what I used to do:
    Server one has all the users in workgroup manager. The home folders for the 6th, 7th and 8th graders are on two separate drive bays on server one. Each grade level folder is a network mount. I then have the faculty home folders on a server two. There is also a shared folder called "Stuff" which mounts for all users and has clipart, movies etc. It is basically a read only mount. The faculty home folders are network mounts of their home folders.
    I service between 400 and 500 students a day in the lab, it is quite busy, with anywhere from 60 to 90 users logged on at one time. My thinking last year was that if I could spread out the home folders on different drives, the students wouldn't all be hitting the same drive for saves, data etc. So that one drive wouldn't be spinning its brains out to keep everyone going. That is why I have the 4 network mounts for the home folders. One for each grade level (6,7,8) and the faculty.
    My new server has three drives, two of them for home folders. The drives are 750 gb each. He (apple tech) suggested I create a folder in each drive, set it as the network mount and within that folder put two sets of home folders. So, then I would only have two network mounts, but retain my four sets of home folders that would be within the network mounts.
    I guess my question is, which is better, to have the 4 network mounts with separate home folder locations on 2 different servers, or consolidate the home folders into 2 network mounts on one server.
    He said that the more network mounts, the longer it takes to get computers started up.
    Any expert advice here would be greatly appreciated.

    I don't think the logins take too long, we may wait 30 seconds or so for the students to login. We have had problems when 60 kids leave and 60 more come in, some login and after the username and password are entered, the login begins then locks. The Apple tech guy thought that could be aggravated by the 4 network mounts. I just sort of thought that with students and teachers accessing 4 different hard drives, that it wouldn't tax one drive as much. I agree that a longer login is a small price to pay for faster working speeds.

  • Activation fee for trading in faulty phones?

    I was going to try and trade in my EVO LTE for the Galaxy but my 30 days will probably be up before Best Buy has stock for trade in. I realize if I switched phones I would have to pay an additional activation fee. But is there an additional fee if you have a faulty phone that you are replacing with the same phone?
