Actual Cost & Actual Revenue

Dear Sir,
Can you please tell me what Actual Cost & Actual Revenue & also what is difference between Actual cost & Actual Revenue.
Regards,
Gagandeep Singh.

Hi,
IN any project you incur some expenses and at the same time when you sell something you generate revenue. But in the intitial stages you cant say what is the actual cost that you are going to incur or what is the actual revenue you are going to generate at a certain point/phase in a project.
Actual Cost refers to for eg. suppose you procure a bearing for your project. You will create a PR and then a PO. Until this stage system will treat this as a commitment. Once you do the GR/ GI this cost is converted to actual cost. Similarly lets say that you are building a ship and you have procured some components to build that ship. That procurement will lead to a cost because you are incurring some expenditures. Once you build that ship and sell it and bill the customer you will generate revenue. Till the time you receive the payment/revenue from your customer system treats this as Planned revenue. Once you bill your customer and receive the payment system will treat this is as the actual revenue.
So basically Actual Cost refers to the expenditures incurred in carrying out a project and Actual revenue refers to the income generated after billing the customer and receiving the payment for the goods sold.
Its just a basic explanation but hope this clears your query.
Best Regards,
Gokul

  • Report to see the actual cost and Revenue..

    Hi all,
My Sales Cycle is Sales Order --> Delivery --> PGI --> Invoice --> and Accounting.
When we do the PGI GOGS account entries will generate,
When we do the Invoice Revenue and customer account entries will generate.
Now my customer wants to see the total Actual cost as well as total revenues in a single report (Sales order wise).
Is there any Standard report availble for this?????
    Thanks and Regards,
    SUBBU..

    Hi,
You will have to use LIS and develop a std or flexible analysis to develop this report.

  • WBS Element Actual Cost and 'Detailing the  Value Type ' issue

    Hello BW Experts ,
I want to extract the WBS Element Actual Cost and Revenue.
I have selected the data source 0CO_OM_WBS_6 .
In this data source there is a field  Detailing the value type ' 0VTDETAIL.
As per SAP BI Help if the value of this field exists between 1 to 4 then it is actual cost of WBS ( also Key figure Category 0METYPE should be 1000 for actual cost and for revenue it is 1001).
value 4 of 0VTDETAIL means CO Activity Allocations.
When I see  the data from this data source in RSA3 , I could not get any WBS whose 0VTDETAIL is 1 to 4 and Key Firgure Category as 1000, value type = 10.
Is there any other data source I should select in order to get actual cost for WBS ?
I can see the settelment cost whose 0VTDETAIL = 5 through this data source in RSA3.
But I want to see the data for the Actual Cost whose 0VTDETAIL = 4 .
What could be the reason ?
    Thanks in advance .
    Amol.

    Dear Oscar,
    Thanks for your response,
The Actual Cost posted by our Functional Consultant is USD 250, but i am getting the Total Actual cost is ZERO (Sum of -250 +250) as i shown above.
the posted  actual cost is +250, finally we need this figure only,
if i do restriction on Sender receiver Indicater field with S than i will get Actual Cost 250, but in SAP standard RKF for Actual Cost there is no restriction on Sender receiver Indicater field (S & H)
I hope you got my point now.
    Thanks

  • Actual Cost component split - Per PO

    Dear ML Experts,
We have activated Material Ledger and Actual costing/ Actual cost component split in our implementation. The standard cost is based on delivery costs and there is no manufacturing involved. In order to test ML, we created some POs and did a GR and IR for those POs. When I look at the Material Price analysis on the Price Determination Structure View, I can see the Price differences per transaction (Goods receipt, Invoice receipt).
But when I go to the Cost component View (Actual), I cannot drill down into the individual transactions. I am able to see the actual cost component split only at the summarized level across multiple transactions. I can see the category Purchase Order under Receipts, but I am unable to drill down to see the actual cost component split for the individual transactions (goods receipts, invoice receipts).  Did I miss anything on the configuration? The client wants to see the price differences per cost component per transaction and actual cost component split per transaction.
Is it possible to view this information using standard configuration? Would I have to change the controlling level in order to achieve this?
Can you please provide your advice?
    Thanks,
    Balram

    Hi Balram.
If you have access to an IDES system, you can see a Cost Component split like this:
As fas as I know, this is only for educational porpouses. In the standard System, its not recomended have the detail of the split per movement, due to the huge amount of data genereted. There is a Flag that control this, in a Txxx table (i dont have access to the system right now).
If you really want this functionality, write SAP in the marketplace, and I guess their response is exactly what im saying.
    Arturo.

  • Target cost, planned cost, actual cost difference

    Hi!
As per my understanding , the target cost, planned cost, actual will be calculated like blow:
Actual cost = Actual quanity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of goods movement.
Planned cost = Planned quantity * Planned price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of production order release based on valuation variant strategy.
Target cost = Planned Quantity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) when calculating variances.
    whether above formulas are correct?
I have one scenario, where in process order, I am not seeing Planned quanity for compoenent/raw material, but target quanity is existed. How it is possible. When I have checked the BOM in process order, the BOM does not contain the componenet.
    regs,
    ramesh

    Hi,
Target Cost = Costs as per the standard cost estimate * Actual Qty delivered.
For e.g. Std cost for one unit of material-x is as follows.
    RM 1 - 10kg * 10 /-  = 100
    Activity 1 - 5 Hr * 50 /-  = 250
If the actual delivery from the production is 2 units, then target cost will update as
    Under Goods Issue, RM 1 - (10kg*2units) * 10 /- = 200
    Under Confirmations, Activity 1 - (5 Hr*2units) * 50/- = 500
    Total = 200+500 = 700
Target cost for goods issue/confirmation of activities will update only when the Goods receipt has been done but not at the time of goods issue or Confirmation of activities.
Target cost for Goods Receipt will update only when the variance has been calculated for the order.

  • Difference between Actual Cost and Allocable costs in splitting KSS2

I have Cost splitting structure results with me(KSS2)
What is the difference between Actual Costs, Control Costs, Allocable Actual, Actual cost balance and which amount will system consider for calculating the rate with dividing the activity rates.

    Hi,
In Splitting Structure KSS2 There are two Costs One is Target Cost (Planned) and Control Cost (Actual Cost)
In Variance Calculation U will See Target Cost (Planned), Actual Cost, Allocated Actual Costs.
    Target Cost = Planned Cost
    Control Cost = Actual Cost
    Actual Cost = Actual Cost
Allocated Actual Cost = Actual Cost of the Output Qty. This is Actual Credits from Activity allocation. This is Actual Credits from delivery of Stock.
    Hope you are Clear.

  • Actual Cost? Actual Work? Scheduled Downtime EndDate?

I am using SCSM 2012  and I have lot of Incidents. When I run this query:
    SELECT * FROM IncidentDimvw
I receive a list of all my Incidents and his properties, but I have a lot of columns BLANK like: Actual Cost, Actual Work, Scheduled Downtime EndDate, etc.
What is in Incidents view? I it means? I can see any field on Incident form for this properties.
    Thank you.

So i might be helpful to look at the class definition for Work Item. Work item is the base class (mostly, it also inherits from Entity, but so does EVERYTHING else) for all of the "work" in service manager (i.e. Incident, Service Request, Activities, Changes,
etc). Work item defines the following properties:
    Id
    Title
    Description
    ContactMethod
    CreatedDate
    ScheduledStartDate
    ScheduledEndDate
    ActualStartDate
    ActualEndDate
    IsDowntime
    IsParent
    ScheduledDowntimeStartDate
    ScheduledDowntimeEndDate
    ActualDowntimeStartDate
    ActualDowntimeEndDate
    RequiredBy
    PlannedCost
    ActualCost
    PlannedWork
    ActualWork
    UserInput
    FirstAssignedDate
    FirstResponseDate
now Incident inherits from Work Item, so it has all of the properties general to all work items, as well as all of the items specific to incidents. here is the list of incident specific properties:
    TargetResolutionTime
    Escalated
    Source
    Status
    ResolutionDescription
    NeedsKnowledgeArticle
    TierQueue
    HasCreatedKnowledgeArticle
    LastModifiedSource
    Classification
    ResolutionCategory
Some of the properties that are general to all work items are not used, by default. For instance, PlannedCost and ActualCost are not exposed on the incident form, or populated by the default workflows.
(DisplayName is defined on System.Entity, fyi)
Hopefully this helps you understand why there are a bunch of properties on the incident table, and why some of them are blank. They are defined on the abstract base class, probably with the intention that future processes or work will use them.

  • Results analysis for sales orders- actual costs/ revenues - (kka3-kkak)

Hi, i have a problem when I execute the individual results analysis for sales orders (kka3) I can see actual revenues and actual costs, however when I execute the collective processing (kkak) for the results analysis I don´t see these (actual revenues and costs). Is it normal? How can I see these in the collective processing?

Could be one of these possibilities:
    1) Controlling Area set is wrong
    2) You're input parameters are insufficient to get that sales order. Check Order Type etc you input in the main screen
    3) The master data is wrong which is not allowing the link to the Sales Order. You would have to check each field thoroughly.
You will have to probably do a lot of checks before you resolve this. This isn't normal btw....you should see all Sales Orders

  • Project POC to determine actual cost and actual revenue

    Dear all experts,
please help me on the following issue.
i am working on a project for sales.
the project actual cost and actual revenue will be determined by the project POC.
i have read the SAP help about project progress.
    but it confused me.
my first question is how can i caculated the actual POC?
is there a standard predefined way to solve it?
please give me some hints or suggestions.
    thanks a lot.
    Judy

    Hi,
Can anyone detail the steps involved in carrying out RA with Valuation Method 7 with progressive value analysis. Here, we can give a percentage of POC into the system as certified by the Engineers unlike Valuation method 3 where the POC is calculated on the basis of actual costs incurred.
In the case of valuation method 3, only revenue is analysed by the system with reference to the POC and necessary entries are posted as Revenue surplus or Revenue in excess of billings. Whereas in the case of valuation method 7, both the revenue and costs are analysed and necessary provisions are made both for revenue and costs.

    Judy

  • PS - Report on Planned v/s actual cost of the project

    Hi,
I have a client requirement on the above subject. In Report S_ALR_87013542, Under actual cost the system is taking both the Revenue and Actual cost booked on the project. Is there any other report wherein the system shows only the actual cost booked on the project so that planned V/s Actual can be compared.
    Rgds,
    Prasad

    Hi,
You can also refer the report S_ALR_87013543 - Actual/Plan/Variance Absolute/Variance %. This will give the reports based on cost elements. Morever plan cost Vs actual cost can be obtained from Project Infosystem report (CN41/ CNS41).
In fact the report S_ALR_87013533 is a hiecherachical report for plan & actual cost of project.
If the system is calculating wrongly both revenue & actual cost under actual then you need to check Cost elements asignments & value category details.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Excise duty value on sales invoice not reflecting in the actual cost

    Hi,
we are paying excise duty, when we are removing material from plant for the particular project. Now excise duty paid is reflecting properly in the actual cost colunn of the the report s_alr_87013558. Secondly when we are rasing commercial invoice to the customer & excise duty paid earlier is recovered from the customer, now excise duty recovered from the customer is not being reduced from the actual cost.
Cost elment for excise duty paid - 6101100, with category 1 - primary cos/ cost reducing revenue.
Cost elment for excise duty recovered -  3801090, with category 11 -  Revenue.
Kindly guide how to update(reduced) excise duty revocvered in the acutal cost.

  • Cost element and Line item reports show different actual costs

    Hi PS experts,
My client has an issue pertaining to actual cost reports. The cost element report shows actual costs $42,000 for one WBS and when I double click to see details the value it shows is $2100. Even when I checked line item report for this WBS the value is $2100. What could be the reason for getting different values? If some one throw some light on this it would be great helpful to me
    Regards,
    Laxminarsimha

    Laxminarsimha
The values in CJI3 should be correct and will include all postings (e.g. Settlement values) and possibly Actual Revenues unless a filter is in place - so take this as being your correct figure to start with.
Your drilldown will show the same value as CJI3 because it is CJI3
Any cost element report you are using is probably correct for what you are asking - is this a Standard Cost Element Report you are using or is it bespoke
One thing to be careful of when you drilldown on Cost Element Reports is that you do not always get the a make up of the value you have drilled down
    e.g.
Cost Element Report was run for Period 1 to 6 2008 and shows £100.00
You drilldown and sometimes the drilldown automatically shows ALL line items e.g £500.00 (not just the values for periods 1 to 6 of 2008 which you may expect £100.00)
In the past I've removed the drilldown capability from bespoke cost element reports to prevent drilldown to the line item report (which is CJI3) because of this problem.
Usually where values for a a number of periods only (not total costs) was required
    Other factors to consider
Revenues/Settlements may be excluded from Cost Element Report but will not be excluded from CJI3 unless you specifically restrict
You need to identify which types are postings are missing from the Cost Element Report (what is common...cost element, dr/cr indicator, business transaction)
I've also hit the mistake in the past where I've asked for periods 1 2007 to period 3 2008 and instead of giving me just over a years worth of actual it gave me actuals for periods 1 to 3 for 2007 and 1 to 3 for 2008.
    Hope this helps
    Steve
