Actual Overhead rates on Production Orders

There is a function that let you recalculate overhead rate for actual?
I mean for example, when you use activity types in production orders, during confirmations planned price is posted to orders, then at the period end closing you can calulate actual price (KSII) and then revaluate production orders with this new price (CON2)
Is there something like this for overhead rates? p.j. if your actual rate is $3.00 by produced unit. Then at the end of the month is there any transaction that compare actual expenses and actual production and determine new rate? example $3.5. In order to revaluate production orders?
Thanks

Hi Espinosa
Welcome to SDN!
I guess your question is to check if there is a mechanism to auto calculate the overhead rate in the system....
Sorry, there is no such mechanism.. You need to manually calculate and maintain it in KZM2 or KZZ2... Then revaluate the prod orders with new rate using CO43....
However, I find it painful and boring.. Hence, I have developed a workaround which I prefer to use always...
You need to decide on what basis you would like to absorb your overhead... Say, Machine hrs, lab Hrs or Output.... Lets assume you choose Output (KG) to absorb the overhead
1. You need to create an Activity Type called PRDOVH and assign it in the PP Work center... Assign the cost element of this act type to a separate cost component in OKTZ
2. While creating the Routing, the Activity Qty = Operation Qty for this Act Type... i.e. If you are creating routing for 100 Units, specify the Act Qty for PRDOVH as 100...
3. The Formula in the work center will be fully variable for this Act Type.. i.e. the Act Qty should change in proportion to the Qty Confirmed....
4. The PP Guys will confirm the operation in PP... This Act Type will also get confirmed along with it
5. Now calculate Act Price KSII as usual and run revaluation... From this point onwards, follow the normla procedure which you follow in month end

  • How to Close Planned Overhead Rates after production order/ CK40N

    Hi,
While creating production order,it will pick planned overheads from Costing Sheet. After closing the production Oder, how will we close the planned overheads?
For example: We have maintained the planned overheads as 3% in the costing sheet.Over a period of time we have observed the actual overheads is only 2%.How to deal with this in the system. In this case how to close the planned overheads which we got from costing sheet?
    Kindly advice me
    thanks
    Sunitha

    Hi,
If i understand you correctly, currently your planned overhead rate is 3% and you wants to change to 2%.
if this is the case goto your Overhead rate in configuration and copy overhead rate key which is with plan overhead type(2). and change 3% end as of today and copied one with new rate (e.g 2%) as of tomorrow and till end of life(12/31/9999)....
    hope this helps you.
    Thanks,

  • Planned & Actual Overhead Rates

    Hello friends..
In the costing sheet, under the percentage overhead rates..
Can someone please tell me what is the basic difference between the Planned Overhead rate (Overhead type 2) and actual overhead rate (overhead type 1)?
    Please explain..
    Regards
    Shiv

Well, usually we maintain the same percentage for both plan and actual. Just for appreciating the difference, I indicated to try with a different %. This could be having an use too, where the planning is done at beginning of the year and later in the year, you land up in under absorption, you may want to absorb more on production order, you could resort to.
In cases of activity pricing, you can run an actual activity pricing, that can re-calculate the activities. But for indirect overheads, where costing sheets are used you can only change the actual (type 1) percentages.
Well the purpose of standard costing is to set a standard and monitor the variances as we produce. Whatever changes to actuals are made, anyway will be disclosed during the variance calculation.

  • Overhead planning on production order

    Hi Gurus,
I have an OVH cost center in my costing sheet. It is credited during actual settlement of a production order. Will this cost center be credited with planning data at any point of time?
    Thanks

    Hi Gerge
In 2 ways you can absorb OH cost to product level.
    1. Through allocation
    2. By OH sheet
Through Allocation: If you have OH cost CCtrs where you have planed costs in KP06 then through SCE (OH CE) you can allocate cost by Assessment cycle to Prod cost Centers and absorb through Production activity type. In CCS you can define an attribute OH cost and assign your OH SCE to that attribute to see the break up of OH cost
By OH Sheet: You can define % rate in OH on base value where you can define actual and plan both.Select your OH CCtr in credit key in OH sheet and assign OH Sheet in costing variant
In both the cases  OH CCtr will be credited

  • Maintain overhead rates in production system

    Hi experts,
i want to maintain percentage overhead rates in production system, but system has status not modifiable. I found t-code S_ALR_87008275, choose Status, double click on transaction, i found IMG activity SIMG_ORKK_WERK_KZZ2 and area menu KKSM, than i triggered SE16 table CUSAMEN and create new class and object, all i transport to product system. But i can change or create overhead in production system only, but not in details concrete Percentage.
What shall i do to change in details percentage?
    Thanks for advice.

  • Actual Labour Costs against production order

    Hi,
I am currently getting some production orders with no labour costs coming through. We use Activity Types maintained within Routings to capture the labour cost.
I have checked that the Activity Type and Routing details are linked correctly. But when i view the cost analysis in the production order the "Total actual Costs" field is blank.
When i view the "operation" details in the production order and look at the tab "Qty/Activities" i can see the actual labour confirmed in hours but the "Activity Type"field in this tab is empty. I'm assuming that this is why there is no labour cost in the cost analysis view.
The order has been confirmed correctly and the Activity Type is valid with the correct values. The work centre is maintained in the Routing and the same work centre is used in the production order.
    I would appreciate any help.
    Many Thanks
    Nisar

There are 3 cost variants in play that calculate labor costs- each with their own rules (ususally very similar)
there is the Variant for the cost estimate (with qty structure)
there is a production order PLAN variant
there is a production order ACTUAL variant
For the production order the variants are visible on the Control data tab.
Each of these variants has a "valuation variant" to define the method to caclulate activity
    Questions:
in the cost analysis, is the PLAN labor cost empty also?  If yes, then the activity is priced and and the Plan variant is working.
Does the material have a released cost estimate and a labor component?  if yes then the activity is priced and the std valuation variant is working.
If you get one or two yeses - someone needs to review the other valuation  variants (OPN2)
If there are no yes, someone in CO should be reviewing their masterdata, activity pricing and valuation configuration.

  • Overhead rate maintained sales order aswellas production order

    Hi Guru,s
My Client using overhead rates in a particular costsheet for SD and PP.The overhead rate maintained a particular profit center.these particular profit center maintained sales order aswellas production order. In this case we need to calculate costing for sales order only for this profit center not production order.Any setting required to ovecome this problem.Could you plz help on this regards,
    Thanks&Regards,
    Prakash.

    Hi,
There is no specific setting is reqd. If u want to calculate the overheads for production, then u need to define the base % and the overhead key. But in sales order you need to maintain the condition type. This will take care of your reqmt.

  • Overhead calculation for production order

    Hi,
I configured costing sheet and cost component structure. I have given the overhead rates for materials and production costs also. I have a doubt related overhead calculation.
When i have to actual overhead calculation after CK11N or before CK11N.
Please guide me series of steps
    Sateesh Kumar

    Hi Sateesh,
Once you execute CK11N or CK40N Overhead is calculated for the material and Save.mark and release standard cost and  overhead part of your standard cost.
To apply actual overhead to prodcution order, you should assign costing sheet to production order.once you issue goods to production order, you can run KGI2 transaction to apply overhead to prodcution order and credit to cost center/order/business process.
    If this helps,please assign points.
    Thanks,
    Rau

  • Problem in overhead calculation of production order after TECO

    Dear All,
Just for reconfirmation can you tell me what is the actual sequence of steps used in Closing of Production order i.e
First we have to do TECO of an order and then we have to calculate Overhead.(KGI2).
I am asking this question because i have observed that  order which are get TECO before Overhead calculation, if you see the cost analysis, system will not update overhead value in order and the difference get posted in Variances after settlement.
If we have to do vice versa then there will be the problem as user do the TECO of an order as an when production order completed, overhead calculation is the work of costing department and they will do it at month end only hence system will always post variance for the overhead value.
    Kindly suggest.
    Regards,
    Shayam

    Hi,
Normally, you need to check the transactions allowed when the status TECO is set. However, status is set only when the sequence of the steps are completed during month end. Transactions like the WIP, variances, settlement etc as you may have bach jobs running to set the status.
    Kind Regards

    Hi Experts,
I need to get variance, Plan, and actual cost (material cost) by Production Order. Does SAP has BAPI to do this?
    Best Reguard

For costing report, you have to read the following tables: based on material Qty/value/ Machine rate and machine posting date , machine rate ( T-code kp26)  and also types of material Raw, finished and semi finished ..
    AFRU ,AFPO,AFKO,AFVV,AFVC,CAUFV FOR PRODUCTION ORDER.
For material calculation MARA, MSEG and MKPF as well as MAKT...

  • Planned Overhead Calculation in Production Order

    Dear Experts,
I have created one costing sheet, with the following:
    1. Base has been taken as Expenses GL(Office Expenses)-Primary Cost.
    2. Overhead rate has been define 50% for both planned & actual with dependency as profit center(D080).
    3. Credit has been defined with scondary cost element with cost center.
    4. Assigned cost component with above secondary cost element in cost component structure.
    5. Assigned cost component structure in version.
    6. Assigned costing sheet in valuation variant
    7. Assigned valuation variant in costing sheet.
I have posted the Fi document in the expense gl.But no values are coming in prodction order in costing.
Please let me know if i have missed any thing. Thanks in Advance.

  • Production and Other Overheads posting to Production Orders

    Hi All,
I need a clarification regarding Production Orders,
I have created a PP Production for 10 finished qauntity, I have posted material consumtion to the order in MB1A Tcode with 261 movement type.
But how to post actual cost to the order. From HR Module, Salaries GL are getting upldated, Out of that some of the employees related plant.
Saleries cost and other activity cost( Actuals), how can i allocate to Production Orders and on what basis.
Please advice me in this regards, let me know if i am thinking in wrong way.
    Regarsd,
    Ganesh

    Hi,
u can allocate salrary cost ect to production orders.
first of all salary should be a primary cost element.
u can allocate on the basis of hours or any other relevant factor , the factor should be available in ativity type list, other wise u have to create activity.
in the cost center assessment u can use salary cost element and settle on prodcution orders , u can manully enter amount or u can decide to allocate based on activity quantity in order to do so ur settlement profile must allow posting on production orders..
    points if information useful

  • Standard Vs Actual Cost report for Production Order

    Hi Expert,
I have an requirement that i need report for Standard Cost (CK40N) and Actual cost (261 Movement) for multiple production order or Multiple Material.
Please suggest standard report if available or FS for creating Z Report.
    Regards,
    Pranav

    Hi Pranav
    There are Standard reports
    Option 1
You can use Product Drilldown reports in KKO0
    For this:-
    a. Do settings in OKN0 - assign a Cost Comp Structure and Choose Material group = Product Group
    b. Run KKRV to collect data and then use KKO0 reports
I have replied this in SCN many times.. You can search here. Just google as "SCN" "Ajay Maheshwari" "OKN0" and you can see some posts answered by me
    Option 2
You can use Summarization Hierarchy KKBC_HOE
    For this
    a. Set up Summ Hierarchy in KKR0.
    b. Run KKRC
    c. Run KKBC_HOE report

    Hi
1.problem could be with the activity type costing.
check KP26 data maintained or not (for activity and costcentre assigned to work cneter)
2.IF order having CSER status then do the cost caliculation in the order, so that the status will go.(do thsi after correcting the KP26 data)

  • Actual Finish date in production order

    Hi All
Iam using AFKO-GLTRI  ( ACTUAL FINISH DATE) field in some Z-report.
Iam having only one operation in production order which does not have AUTOGR key.
Iam using serial number and doing GR through migo.
Date in AFKO-GLTRI  field does not get populated when i do partial or final confirmation with full yeild. -- WHICH Standard SAP and right
After final confirmation when i do goods receipt then i can able to see Actual finish  date in CO03  screen but it is not available in AFKO-GLTRI.
If i do partial confirmation With or without any hours after  GR then   Date gets populated in AFKO-GLTRI.
Please can you guide why date is not appearing in AFKO-GLTRI when I do GR --  iam missing any config ?

you probably can use the AFRU-IEDD (Confirmed date for execution finish).
the logic could be - look at all confirmations(or just one) and get the last one.
