Actuals for stock valuated materials in a valuated project stock

Hi friends!
Iu2019m working with materials in the project, and we are going to do direct external procurement from the project. The material we are using are valuated stock and in the project I have valuated project stock.
The requirements are that the vendor give us the material prices, and the material will not be consumed by the project(WBS/network). All the material will be collected to the special project stock until we decide to move the material to the unrestricted stock to be consumed by another department in the company. All the actual cost must follow-up in the project.
This is what I do:
From the project I create material components and I create the PO requisition I got the same price as in the project. Thatu2019s ok.
When I convert the PO requisition to the PO I got no price but if I save I got the latest used price for the material and this could varied and it´s ok but should not work like this for this scenario.
My doubts are when I do the goods receipt (MIGO) and the price of the material in the PO are not the same as the stock valuated price I got the difference as actuals in the project and the valuation of the material are in the project stock. If the price of the PO is the same as the valuation price I got no actuals in the project.
When I register the invoice from the vendor (MIRO) I got no actuals either so I cannot do my project follow-up costs. When I check the cost they are in accounting (balance sheet account).
When I do the material movement with 411Q to unrestricted stock I donu2019t get any actuals in the project either.
Is this a normal behavior when using stock valuated materials in a valuated project stock?
I SAP help I found this information for non valuated project stock:
u201CAll the actual production costs appear in the project because no price variances can occur and all external procurement follow-up costs are debited to the WBS element.u201D
But if the best practice is to use valuated project stock why follow-up costs cannot be done in the project?
Please give me some ideas of this,
Best regards
Jose Marin

If the mateiral was created using the no stock material material type then yes you can see this material in MM60.  Search using material type 'NLAG' for non stock.

  • Split valuation with batch management and project stock

    Dear Gurus,
I need to combine two following requirements:
    1. split valuation with batch management (valuation type = batch number)
    2. project stock
These two functionalities work fine separately but not together.
I receipt PO for material with spiit valuation on a batch level into a project stock. Posting is OK and material document (MSEG table) seems to be OK (batch number, valuation type and project stock are in this table). The problem appears when I want to display material in this valuation type (MM03) or batch (MSC3n). They don't exist!!!  Short investigation showed that during goods receipt table MBEW (valuated stock) was not updated with this valuation type.
But If PO is receipt into normal stock first and then posted into project stock everything is OK.
Have you had or heart about such issue? I would appreciate any sugestion.
    Thsnks in advance.
    Marcin Bernat

    Hi,
As you already know ,u are using project stock and doing goods receipt against project, stock table QBEW will be updated and not MBEW. MBEW only updates in case of plant stock valuation. If u receive any goods against project stock it does not contribute to plant stock. Irrespective whether your material is managed in split valuation or not, If it is received against project stock it only updates QBEW. There is no need to update MBEW, if u r using split valuation in project. QBEW also have valuation type as another level like MBEW. If u want to see material price for project stock, it can be  seen in QBEW -valuation type and not in mm03.
As u r receiving goods against project stock this is d only reason QBEW is updated and not MBEW.
QBEW will store all information like MBEW for batch number, valuation type and project stock assignment.
    Hope it answers your question.
    Deepak.

  • Results Analysis for Valuated Project stock

    Hi,
To have transfer prices we have activated material ledger and multiple valuations.
As material ledger only works with valuated stock, we have moved the Project structure (ETO) from non valuated to valuated.
Our client requirement was to recognised revenue based on cost. With non valuated project stock, cost is upated as soon as we received the stock for the project and we were able to acheive the RA (revenue recognisition) as per the clients requirement.
However after changing to valuated, during goods receipt stock is upated and not cost. So we asked the client to consume the purchased material if they have to recognise the revenue.
Then the question came that if the SFG is received back from the assembly/production order, all of a sudden we will not have cost but revenue & stock. After looking some SAP notes on statistical cost elements, we have created the stock account as a statistical cost element (category 90) and implimented the following SAP notes which helped us to reverse the stock value and update it to P&L (by reading the balance in statistical cost element linked to the Project).
    a) Note 78420 : To activate Function Module EXIT_SAPLKKAG_005 (contains include ZXKAGU05).This Function module takes into account the actual & plan costs of the assigned Production orders & Networks
b)Note 616869 : Provides source code to be copied to  include ZXKAGU05
c)Note 616960 : Changes to include ZXKAGU05 to read statistical cost elements in RA
d)Note 26002 : To activate Function Module EXIT_SAPLKKAG_001 (contains include ZXKAGU01).In this include we can make the necessary modifications to RA calculations. Through this include, stock will be reversed during RA.
e)Note 785626 : Provides source code to be copied to include ZXKAGU01
Hower if we have purchased parts which are not consumed, still the RA (FM EXIT_SAPLKKAG_001) reads the value in statistical cost element and posts a debit to RA P&L and reverses the stock. Therefore now i have cost but no revenue (as no consumption).
As per last paragraph of sap note 785626, if we have purchased parts and we want to exclude them from stock reversal, we have to use a filter with customer enhancement 3 (SAP note 67423). It also says that the goods receipts and issues of purchased parts has to lead to a different valuation class and assigne a different stock accout. Now can any one give some guidance on how a project specific purchased parts (receipts and issues to prod order) can be linked to a seperated valuation class.
We have same material which is sometimes purchased and sometime produced.
    Regards
    Raghu.

    Hi
I can say something from theory but not much from sap config. perspective. You have not mentioned actual revenue since POC is calculated from
R(a)/R(p).How you have considered 100% poc?
From your data,it looks to me that you have met the target revenue from actual cost which is less than planned one.Inventory indicates that you can generate revenue in next accounting period (unlike WIP).I feel that unlike plant stock,RA is not perfomed on project stock Murli, can ammend my view if it is wrong.
You can post this problem to Fi/Co.

    Dear,
Please explain me the inventory management of Non Valuated Materials.
Non-valuated materials are managed on a quantity basis, but not by value
How the GRN of such materials is done.
GRN of these materials will be done in normal way with mvt 101, only difference will be there won't be any accounting document generated at the time of GRN.
What are the documents generated for goods movement related to non valuated materials.
Once you do GRN for Non Valuated Materials then there will be only material document created, there won't be any accounting document generated.
    Hope it helps.

  • Cross Plant Planning for External procured Material in MRP with their stock

    Dear Gurus,
I have one requirement my client want Cross plant planning in MRP. this plants are only site plants no Manufacturing. All materials in these plants are Externally Procure Materials(F). Now they want cross plant planning  for Externally Procure Materials or cross plant planning  for Externally Procure Materials  with consider all plant stock details while planning.
can you tell me procedure for this,
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Devraj

    Hi,
In R/3 you cannot consider all plants in planning, you have to use SAP APO to achieve your goal (if your goal is to optimize the procurement in your plants). When you execute MRP run in R/3 it will only consider the details of one single plant.
I mean if you have several plants used for external procurement, and you want to make an optimal decision considering all the stocks and open transactional data, requirements in those plants, it is not possible in R/3 as per my knowledge - multi site/plant planning won't give you such optimal solutiion.

  • Change of Production Order to Project Stock from unrestricted stock

    Hello Experts,
I need to have a workaround of transaction CO02. Actually, we have already implemented PS by using Project Stock but the problem is that we have almost thousands of production orders  that will come into unrestricted stock after production. For these orders we want to make an account assignment for a project and we want that MRP to see all these production orders as entering project stock after production. If I do the same by CO02, it is very difficult for me to do it individually for each production order. So, is there any way to configure our need for passing from using unrestricted project stock to project stock ?
    Thanks,
    Kumar Srinivasan

    Hi,
Then try implementing the following logic. Not sure if this can help you.
Use a material that is set up to trigger the production order and attach this material to a network activity that is set to be reserved for project stock Q and can only be GI to that WBS element. The planned costs are recognized in the project but the Actuals are only recognized when the finished material is GI back to the project. You can use your planned production orders and MRP in exactly the same way but they are just linked back to the project when they are completed.
If you need to transfer planned orders that are already in place then it can be done in MM. There’s a goods movement type specific to where you need to reference the WBS element that is set for requirements grouping.

    Amit

  • Cannot able to see project stock in sloc

    Hi Frnds,
i did po for project materials with acct assgnmt "p" and for a wbs element. I have received that materials with mov.type 101. but after completing goods receipt, if i go and check in mmbe..it is not showing any stocks..can anybody tell me the reason for this and where i can see project stock which i have received.
    Regards,
    Prasath

    hi,
PO made with acct. asgn.  "P" will be shown as consumed against WBS element.  If you want to bring quantity to stock put acct. asgn.  "Q" in PO.  After GR, the quantity can be seen in MMBE against the WBS element.

  • CHECK ON AVAILABLE STOCK INTO STOR. LOC. PROJECT BUSINESS

    Hi All,
When adding a material on a material network (material master has indicator: individual / collective 1 into MRP4 view), immediately a Purchase req. is created for Q stock. Stock is received via PO into project stock. This is the normal process.
But if when there is still unrestricted stock available for this material into a stock loc. (within the same plant we creating the material network), how to check first automatically the unrestricted stock before the PR for Q stock is created for material requirements.
    Your inputs will be rewarded...
    Thanks & regards,
    Krishna

    Any inputs on this issue....

  • MRP ignore unrestricted stock with project stock

We are using Project Stock. When we generate reservations in Project Stock and run MRP, MRP ignors any unrestricted stock in the plant and always creates Purchase Reqs!
Our MRP settings for the Material Master seem correct (zero saftey stock, etc.).
We will want that, when the material is in unrestricted stock, MRP don't creates the Purchase Reqs for the material with reservation in Project stock.
    is It possible ??
    Thank's for you regards
    Serghei

    Serghei,
    Yes, that is exactly right.
When you create a requirement for project stock, the system will perform a net requirements calculation against project stock.  If it finds no project stock, it will create a purreq for project stock.
Now, you have said that your business requirement is that you want MRP to do its work, and to consider unrestricted stock.  The only way you can do this is by creating a reservation against unrestricted stock.  Project stock is always considered in individual segments, apart from unrestricted.  This is a 'feature' of project planning.
It is possible to create a project order, which contains reservations for components, which are valid against unrestricted stock.  However, when you create project reservations manually, they will never consider unrestricted.
Exactly what is your business goal in this effort?

    Hi!
We regret to inform you, that the report RQAAAS10 ( QA07 ) does not
    support project stocks.
For better understanding of the transaction QA07, I would ask you kindly
to review the documentation for the report RQAAAS10.
Here are the Requirements for this report:
'The batch master data corresponds to the selection conditions.
Only those batches that full fill the following conditions are examined:
    -the batch status is "released".
-the unrestricted-use stock is greater than zero.
-the stock is not in a HU storage location'
This means that all 'special' stock locations, like for example project
stock, will be not relevant for this transaction.
Unfortunately SAP not able to provide a workaround for your
issue, with the exception of a customer own development. In this case
you can copy the report and make the correspondent adjustments needed.

  • Split valuation for non-valuated materials

    Hi dudes,
We are implementing SAP for our Subcontractor.
our SC  receive all components from our company ( on free ) but sometimes they purchase the same material themselves for other uses. so we decided to use split valuation to separate valuated and non-valuated materials.
I did configuration and created 2 valuation type ( valuated - nonvaluated )
when I create Purchase order it askes for valuation type but even when I use non-valuation type in PO it asks for price!!!!
do any of you have used split valuation for this target?
    have the same problem?
    what should I do actually??

    Hi,
Is someone in the subcontracting plant going to do a process order on the materials you send them? Or are you only going to track the finished inventory once it reaches your plant?
    In the first case:
    1) Create a STO to the SC plant. This stock will have to be priced.
    2) Inventory reaches SC plant. They perform production process.
    3) finished inventory is sent using another STO.
    2nd Case:
    1) Create a SC vendor using the SC plant as a vendor.
    2) Create a SC PO to this vendor using this vendor and transfer goods to him. In this case, goods are transferred for 'free' as they really belong to you and not to the SC
    3) Once the production process is over and the finished product is sent back to you, do a GR. The raw material sent to the SC will be consumed.

  • Best Material Type for Handling Non-valuated Materials in Distribution

Our distribution business will soon be handling non-valuated material and I am trying to determine the best material type to use.  I am considering material type UNBW but would like to know if anyone has advice.  We are strictly providing a service to the vendor for handling these non-valuated materials (for example, wood products).  We will not purchase or sell the product.  Our service consists of receiving the product into inventory from the vendor, tracking the inventory, (in Warehouse Management) and then shipping the material to a customer of the vendor's choosing.  For these non-valuating materials, we are paid strictly for our service of warehousing the material and shipping to a customer.
Up until now, our distribution business has distributed only valuated materials, i.e., materials we purchase at a price and sell at a price.  We also use vendor consignment.  NOTE: This is not a vendor consignment scenario because we never buy the product.
    Here are our requirements:
    - We don't own the non-valuated product.
    - We need to be able to ship these new non-valuated products on the same shipments as the valuated product we own.
    - We use handling unit and warehouse management for all of our finished goods.
    - We would like to use our existing processes and HU/WM RF transactions to receive and pick the non-valuated product.  This means:
    1) Creating inbound deliveries and packing into HUs.  And applying our HU bar code labels.
    2) Physical inventory counts by HU.
    3) Creating sales orders that have both the non-valuated materials and valuated materials we own.
    4) Creating outbound deliveries and picking via transfer orders in WM.
    5) Assigning the outbound deliveries to a shipment.
    Questions:
    1)  Can a UNBW material that will be stocked but not valuated be received into inventory via a PO?  Any way to receive into inventory with an inbound delivery without using a PO?
    2)  Are there any problems with putting a non-valuated material on a sales order with a zero price?
    3)  Any challenges that other have run into?
    Thanks in advance.
    Rob

I must be missing something regarding the use of material type UNBW.  When I post the goods receipt for a PO with a UNBW material, no inventory is created.  When I create the PO, an account assignment is required.  I tried both a cost center account assignment (K) and balance sheet account assignment (Z - using a Profit Center).  In both cases, I am forced to check the "Free item" checkbox to avoid entering a price; which also seems strange since the material is UNBW.
I have searched everywhere for a "Best Practice" for my scenario with little results.  Again, we are simply managing the inventory for a vendor and shipping the inventory to our vendor's customers.  So we are acting as a third pary warehouse and shipper for the vendor.  We do not buy or sell the inventory - we are paid a monthly service fee by the vendor for warehousing their product and shipping it to their customers.  We may ship the product on sales order deliiveries that include both the "non-valuated" product (i.e., free goods we manage for this vendor) and goods that we actually own.
As an alternative, I am wondering if I should look into somehow using vendor consignment with a settlement price (consignment info record price) of zero.  Vendor consignment is nice because you can track the stock by vendor.  However, we would never truly "settle" with the vendor because we would not be paying the vendor for the inventory and would never own it.
Our business refers to this as "reload business" but I am not sure this is an industry standard term.
    Any other thoughts out there?

  • Automatic STO for materials with split valuation

    Hey Gurus,
Our client uses plant-to-plant STO to do transfers among internal plants. The current process: Run MRP in receiving plants --> MRP generates PReq --> Release PReq --> Assign Preq and create STO(from here, buyers manually check stock at issuing plant to see if there are "New" or "Rebuild" stock available, Rebuild stock always take the priority. Buyers manually assign Rebuild or New to ME21N).
The client tries to automate the STO process, ie, using ME59 or ME59N instead of ME21N. The problem is how the system does stock check and automatically enters"Rebuild" or "New" for materials with Split Valuation, which are done by buyers manually?
    Thanks
    JM

    Hello,
Your client's request can be met with an user exit i guess. I have not used this but this is a suggestion that you can try if you wish.
The following things need to be done.
    1. New PR type needs to be created and assinged to the STO document type.
    2. When running a MRP at receiving plant, the system uses the special procurement key to create the STO requisition, hence we can write the relevant code in user exit in the MRP program. (please find the user exit for MD01)
    3. If the special procurement key is 40 in the material master (MRP view), then system has to create the PR using the new PR type for STO. Also for those PRs the default batch should be "Rebuilt" entered while creating the PR.
    4. As the batch is already entered in the PR, converting them to PO automatically will not be an issue.
if you feel that the above solution is little tough to implement, then please write a program to fetch the STO PRs and update the PRs one by one using the BAPI PR update or BDC with the batch "Rebuilt". This program you can ask the users to run before using ME59.

  • DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NON-STOCK AND NON-VALUATED MATERIALS

    HI ALL,
I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NON-STOCK AND NON-VALUATED MATERIALS. WHY THESE TYPE OF MATERIALS ARE COMING UNDER COST CENTER AND WHEN CREATING PO FOR THIS TYPE PARTICULAR MATERIALS WHY WE ARE NOT MAINTAINING PRICE, MEANS WHY WE ARE DEFINING THE PRICE FOR THIS PARTICULAR MATERIALS?

    Hi,
    Hi,
    non-valuated material (Material Type UNBW):
This type of material is managed on a quantity basis, but not on a value basis. This makes sense for materials of low value, stocks of which nevertheless have to be monitored (for example, operating manuals).
Non-stock material (NLAG) (Material Type NLAG):
Inventory management is not possible for these materials either on a quantity or value basis. For frequently required consumables, the use of this material type nevertheless enables you to store the information required to create
purchasing documents (such as texts and units of measure).
When a material is procured directly for consumption, no material master record is necessary. In connection with consumable materials, you can distinguish between the following cases:
    • Consumable material without material master record
    • Consumable material with material master record that is not subject to
inventory management (on either a quantity or value basis)
    • Consumable material with material master record that is subject to inventory management on a quantity, but not a value, basis
