Administration Tab for WBS Master data nt updating automatically.

Hi PS Consultanats,
Weare recieving WBS master data from the source system to our system. When I am recieving an IDOC related to WBS master data to my system the admisnistration data is not automatically generating.
For some records it is generated when the Administration data fields were there in the IDOC structure from the source system. No since these fields are system generated why they are not updating automatically ?

Actually, for data upload our Client has existing upload z programs.Now for e.g. while entering division data from upload file,client wants user to avoid mass human mistake. Hence this data should be some numerical no. like 001,002 equivalent for different divisions like Bus,truck etc...This division data when gets uploaded should appear in the form of text i.e Bus,Truck.
Can this be possible? If yes , how can it be done?

I want to Fill a characteristic of an info cube using the attribute value in a master data in Update rule.
Eg: I want to fill a field in cube 0PM_C01 that is got from Master data 0PM_ORDER. I have to do this in upate rule. Can anyone help me.

Restrict access for Vendor Master Data

Hi all.
Our company structure is like below:
Single instance, just one mandant.
Company codes like 1001, 3001, 6002, 6006, etc... over the world.
At some companies just the central administration can create vendor for the companies using the transaction XK01.
Now we need to give access to users from one of our company from other country but we can´t give access to transaction XK01 because just the central administration can create the master data for the vendors.
I already read about the object F_LFA1_AEN that is possible to create some field groups and give access just for the rigth groups. I also read that this authorization groups don´t have effect on the vendor master data like address.
How can I restrict access for the vendor master data? I´m thinking to give access to transaction FK01 and MK01 and restrict access for create a new vendor, I only want that the users can create the data for a new company or new purchase organization.

among many other authorization objects, you find following three:
F_LFA1_GEN general data
F_LFA1_BUK company code data
M_LFM1_EKO purchasing org data.
If the user does not have authorization for F_LFA1_GEN , then he cannot maintain general data.

Hi,
you can add new tab on the screen and provide your custom field on that tab. You have to add a new tab for any Technical Object by doing some configuration changes in SPRO. first go to SPRO and in screen sequences add a new tab sequence against the profile. Now in the function group SAPLXTOB you can see this new tab screen. Do your requirements on this screen.

Master data delta update to data souce not possible

Hi,
0material_att data source delta update failed for a few days from the process chain and when I tried to manually run the delta infopackage, I got this message:
Last delta update is not yet completed
Therefore, no new delta update is possible.
You can start the request again
if the last delta request is red or green in the monitor (QM activity)
I did "manage" for this data source but none of the failed delta run showed in there. I also looked for cancelled jobs in sm37 but nothing came up either. So I ran a full upload without deleting the data as my user is waiting for this fix to be shown in the report. What can I do now to enable the delta run again without deleting the data?

Hi Sharon,
chk in RSMO for that master data 0material_attr, if there are any red/yellow req. If so change the QM status to RED again and goto IP and trigger the load again (it wil say that earlier delta has failed and if u want to Repeat ;ast delta,) in that give OK and exe the load again.
In some cases, the datasource will not support repeat deltas, in that case do a re-init for the master data load. (no need to delete any datas.)

Customization of one field in User field tab of WBS master

Hi all,
There is one requirement given by our Client. In WBS master data , the user need to use the user fields to add one more fields "Division".
The Key field of user fields needs to be changed from "text 1" to "Division" and its Japanese description.For manual input, user want to have the pull down list for this fields. They would be able to select it from using "F4".
Secondly our Client has certain Z transaction to upload WBS plan data. For data upload, Client want user to avoid mass human mistake. In stead of given error in the upload job log, the user wants to avoid it from the beginning. They assume to use some category (like 001, 002.....) in theupload file. The uploaded WBS data will show the text like bus,cab.....etc.
Has anybody came across similar scenario.
Any pointers on this will be highly appreciated.

Master Data Full Update

If I load Master Data everyday (Full Update), does the data overwrites the previous day data or adds the new data to the existing one?

How are you? Yes, its master data always overwrites the data for which the keys match. So you need not worry about any duplicates. Infact, even when we do a delta load for our master data, we do a full load once a week to ensure that we did not lose any data with deltas.

WBS Master Data

We have been loading WBS_ELEMT with delta's for a while. Just discovered that I need to append a new field ( The deletion indicator) to the master data. We are building PS reports and the users have been marking WBS elements for deletion in the source system and we need to carry that field over into BW since they Never Archive. My question is this.
Once I add this field and the userexit code can I run another full load? Does that delete the previous WBS master data already loaded? Then I will just start the delta's again? We need this field on existing WBS elements in BW.
Any help will be reward.

Hi Richard,
Once you code the exit you can run a full load. It will not delete the previous master data, but will overwrite as reqd. Your delta management will remain intact.

Profit Center not getting copied from WBS master data to settlement rule

Hello,
I am facing issues during settlement to G/L. From FI side we have set up some validations that the FI postings shld always carry a Profit Ctr. Now when I am doing settlement to B/S account, the profit ctr from WBS master data gets copied to settlement details and hence on FI posting (Credit line).
However when I am trying to settle to Expenxse/P&L account this is not happening. The profit Ctr is not getting copied from WBS master data to Settlement details and hence the settlement is not going thru. The profit derived is a dummy profit ctr and not the one on WBS master data.
I have posted this query on FI forum too but no satisfactory answers.
Pls let me know, what is the system behaviour....will the prof ctr on WBS master data gets copied on settlement rule details automatically ?

Which exit do I use in OPSN? any thts or some exit in FI?
I am on ECC-6.0...
One thing to mention, the prof ctr is getting copied to settlement rules for Balance sheet account but not for P&L.This is more confusing...

why you want to load full and delta for same master data object?
you can achieve this but make sure that you select repair full option for full load IP.
you have this option in scheduler in menu bar

What tasks need to be done after master data is updated on R/3 side.

Hi all,
One of end user didn't enter the descriptions for few of the 0costcenters on the R/3 side. Now as he likes to see the descriptions , he's updating the information on R/3 side. What will be the tasks a bw backend person should perform in order to update the descriptions for costcenter.
I think they have to run the delta load for 0costcenter master data and do a ACR- Attribute change run.

DTP error: Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes

Hi,
I have a custom datasource from ECC which loads into 0CUST_SALES. I'm using DTP & transformation which has worked for loading data in the past for this infoobject. The infopackage loads with a green status but when i try to load data, the DTP fails with an error message at "Updating attributes for InfoObject 0CUST_SALES Processing Terminated" & the job log says: "Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes". I've tried reactivating everything but it didn't help. Does anyone know what this error means? We're on SP7. Thanks in advance!

I have had this problem in the past (3.0B) --> the reason is that our system was too slow and could not crunch the data fast enough, therefore packets where loacking each other.
The fix: load the data into the PSA only, and then send it in background from the PSA to the info object. By doing this, only a background process will run, therefore locks cannot happen.
Fix#2: by a faster server (by faster, I mean more CPU power)
Now, maybe you have another issue with NW2004s, this was only my 2 cents quick thought

Turning off the text for a master data object

What happens if we turn off the texts for a master data object? (In RSA1, under info objects - double click on info object and go to Master data/texts tab and untick the 'with texts' box). Are there any risks in doing this? Has anyone performed this and run into any issues? Thanks

There are no issues in turning off the texts, but if its an object that requires description in the report, say material, plant etc, then you won't have that available as the texts are disabled and not loaded.
