AFS - Season's validity period - unable to set

Hello everybody,
I'm trying to add seasonality in purchase orders, but when I try to crete a PO for the material with active seasonality, SAP gives me an error ("no season found").
I report all the steps I've made, so it's easier to find what I'm doing wrong
Access customizing (SPRO), Logistic - General --> Define AFS SeasonsDefined a season and a collection
Access MM01 and created a material, in tab AFS Basic Data, in tab Seasons, I added the season & collection just created and chose from the dropdown "season level" the option "Use season".
If I try to create a new PO (ME21N), it gives me the "no season found error". So I looked around (Google) and I found the transaction /AFS/SS02 (SAP Menu --> Logistics --> AFS Central Functions --> AFS Seasons --> AFS Stock Seasons --> Change) to define the validity period of season. When I try to insert a validity period for the above season/collection, when I save, it gives me this error: "Number range 01 not created for object J_4AKNUMH" and kick me out from the transaction.
What can I do to fix this issue?
EDIT: Ok, I solved the problem of adding validity period, now I set them. However, when I try to create a new PO, it still gives me a warning that "no season found"

Hi, Not sure about AFS but what I found and this will help you.
/AFS/DPRG_KOND2 - Condition Records Season Determination MM and PP
Check with creation of condition record number with : /AFS/RS02.
And check the reason 'Season not found' in MM area as below:
If the message is displayed in SD Transactions(Requirement)
If the system did not try all key combinations that you expected, check the Season Settings of the order type.
If the accesses are as expected but nothing was found (red light), check whether there are valid seasons for the given dates and key combination ->display requirement seasons. If an access was successful (green or yellow light), go to the details. A green lights means that the season is valid for that material; a red light means the season is not valid.
Check the AFS Basic data view in the Material Master.
If the message is displayed in MM,PP or IM Transactions(Stock)
If the accesses are as expected but nothing was found (red light), check whether there are valid seasons for the given dates and key combination ->Display Stock Seasons. If an access was successful (green or yellow light), go to the details. A green lights means that the season is valid for that material; a red light means the season is not valid.
Check the AFS basic data view in the Material Master.

Hi All,
I am trying to assign a validity period for Internal catalog on the Supplier catalog CSV2 file. I have defined the characteristic Id
as /CCM/VALID_TO and /CCM/VALID_FROM.
I am unable to upload the supplier catalog. But if I remove this fields it allows me to upload.
I tried with COMT_VALID_FROM and COMT_VALID_TO also.
The date I defined was in YYYYMMDDhhmmss.I tried with different formats of date like DDMMYY,yyyymmdd,ddmmyyyy.
Please suggest how to assign the validity period to the catalogs.

How to set OSA appraisal template validity period ??

Hi Guru,
I am now working on OSA appraisal. When i create a appraisal template in PHAP_CATALOG, i cant specify the validity period. In the end, the validity period always sets to start date as 01/01/1900 and end date as 31/12/9999. As a result, i cant specify that in which year, which appraisal template to be used because all the templates are having the same validity period. For example, i wanna create a appraisal template from 01/01/2008 to 31/12/2010. So,how can i set the validity period to the period i want? Or is there anywhere can set the validity period ?

In the VA object, Layout tab, make sure "do not display validity period" is not checked. This should display the validity period columns, which the user's can enter.
If the column cannot be changed, then check the security authorization.
If the values are defaulted, make sure, you disable the BAdi. Also, make sure, in the processing tab,
click on the "further template behaviour" button. Make sure, there are no "default validity period" enhancement area's.

Validity period for services in ITS

We are on Extended classic scenario with EBO 4.0 and wanted to have service order created.
When I log into ITS server
Shop -> Describe Requirement ->
I have Description, Internal Note, Quantity, Price, Category and Required on.
However I want "From date" and "To date" instead of just Required on date
Is there any configuration setting that needs to be enabled to have validity period for services.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Within our PO process, I created a PO which references a contract. Both have a Validy Period Start and End set up in customizing and filled in. But my problem is that I can still enter a Goods Receipt in MIGO to that PO, after validity has ended. I've set up in customizing the system message 06-041 as Error, and I've put in Screen Layout the checkbox 'GR message' for both PO and Contract.
Is there a way to block the GR threw IMG outside of the Validity Period ?

EWT - giving validity period based on withholding tax code

Dear Friends,
1) My client is having different withholding tax codes (based on rates) for the same withholding tax type. I have given validity period based on withholding tax type in EWT -> Company code -> Assign withholding tax types to company codes, but they want at withholding tax code level because each withholding tax code is having different validity period.
Could you please let me know whether we can give validity period or dates based on withholding tax code instead of withholding tax types.
2) Also please let me know how to handle LTDC based withholding tax codes.

it is not possible to give validity period for tax codes.if you are
using formula functionality,you can set validity period for tax code rates.

MIGO/GR w/ PO and Validity Period Specific Pricing

We have a business requirement to maintain validity period specific pricing on our outline agreements (Scheduling Agreements/Contracts). The question is can receiving be controlled to pick the correct price based on delivery date and not when the goods are actually received?
Example:
Part A
4/10/2014 to 4/20/2014 - $4.00
4/21/2014 to 4/30/2014 - $5.00
Scenario #1- Contract--> Release PO
This scenario is working correctly due the release purchase order pricing is referenced based on when the purchase order is created.
Scenario #2-Scheduling Agreement-->Delivery Schedule
During the prototype, when setting up a validity perios specific price as above, the price is only taken into account at the start of the validity period.
If the delivery schedule line says 4/18, but it's not received until 4/22, SAP will pull the 2nd validity period price instead of the 1st period. Is there a way to ensure that the correct validity period gets pulled?

I think its possible, though i did not check for Scheduling agreement but it works for PO

Hi,
The validity period for any outline agreement, can stop you from creating release orders or schedule lines , if OA is expired.
Ex: Its very much logical, on the very last day of validity end date, u will create release orders.
In this case you will receive your goods, only after the Validity end period.
So there is no such control, for stopping the GR to be made.
One can only stop Release orders from getting created,outside the validity period, not the GRs.
Check for Any user exit, that may help

Unable to set working directory (-2147024832) for some app installs

I've found several drivers on a Dell Laptop that don't play well with others in MDT 2012, so I started making an application install package for them instead. Most of them fail with an "unable to set working directory" error. I checked
the app install logs and they don't really make any sense to me. I know the process as a whole works, because I can install .Net 4.0 runtimes without any problems using the same method. The important bits of the ZTI App log are below. Would
be for any guidance on this, as I'm stumped and none of the searches on the exact errors are of much help.
A sample error returned in the wizard is:

I'm not familiar with how Dell does their client side software, but for the server-side software (my area of expertise), I've always done something like the following:
I recommend running every application install in a VBScript/Powershell wrapper. You get logging for the application back on your SLShare as well as its cleaner (you can replace Drivers A05 with A06 by changing the script, rather than editing the application
in MDT).

I always copy any drivers that are installed after the fact (everything for me other than SAS/NIC drivers) to the C:\Temp as it can break. I always update my NIC drivers during the build to the latest Dell software using their packs. I try to
not mess with my boot image unless I'm adding a new model that is not supported by the built-in drivers.

Unable to set default program for .pdf

CURRENT PROBLEM:
As show in print screen, when i attempt to set default program nth happens at all. The only way i can open any .pdf file now is by 1st opening adobe reader 9 and select the .pdf file manually
INITIAL STAGE OF PROBLEM:
Problem started after upgrading to windows 7 from vista. Windows 7 is able to recognise adobe reader 8 as a valid default program since it is in windows.old. Thus the default for .pdf is adobe reader 8 (it was installed in vista).
Subsequently, installing adobe reader 9 isof no use as it will be ignored and windows 7 will only continue to use adobe reader 8 as the default reader when i try to open a .pdf file, unless if i manually opened adobe reader 9 and selected a .pdf file manaually
However, I am unable to uninstall adobe reader 8 as the "program and feature" can only identify adobe reader 9 and does not think that adobe reader 8 exists.
ATTEMPTs TO SOLVE:
Thus, I removed windows.old by using the disk cleanup. However, I am still unable to set adobe reader 9 as the default reader. Instead, .pdf are no longer accessible/"open-able" unless I 1st opened adobe reader 9 and then selected a .pdf manaually.
I've attempted reinstalling and restarting comps etc, they dun seem to help. I suspect the OS is now only able to recognise adobe reader 8 from windows.old as a valid program directory due to some registry issues since it was initally set as the default when i 1st upgraded the OS. Now that adobe reader 8 is removed, there might be some corrupted registry somewhere that needs to be set right again?

As you guys can see, there's no adobe reader when u expand. Also, I already browsed the reader just in case too. Thus expanding doesnt help. =(

Validity period to be next year

Hi,
we have scenario where in we are supposed to generate quota on August 1 st of this year with validity and deduction period being the next year ( ie .1.1.2010 - 31.12.2010) .
we use both pcr s and config. for quota generation.
In the PCRs we specify the date ie august 1st and the quota number ( ie number of days).
But we get a error saying ' Validity period is not in current period'.
We have tried the solution proposed in the earlier posts, but it does not work in our case....
Any other alternate that you can think of ...
Or any other user exits that can be looked at ...

Whatever validity period you have given to your quotas in selection rules, and your PCR rules dates are mismatched.
Map the two dates correctly and generate the time evaluation. Set the validity and deduction period correctly V_T559L table, here use the other period or relative position as per calendar year , then we can achieve your problem.

You can't.
You can set validity dates for roles - you do this in the roles section of the user master record
If you need a t-code to be locked for <b>everyone</b> for certain periods then you can look into a custom prog that uses tx SM01, though it usually is not a worthwhile control to mitigate the particular risk.

Validity Period of Business Partner in ECC 6.0

How will change the validity period of Business Partner in ISU (ECC 6.0)
At present date(Validity period) is ( from 01.01.0001 to 31.12.9999).
But I want to change the date (Validity period) is ( from 01.01.2004 to 31.12.9999).

Purchase Info record conditions Validity Period

Hi,
In the Inforecord ME12/ME13 the conditions are displayed with validity period which are shown in ascending order.
Example
23.10.2008 to 31.10.2008
01.11.2008 to 30.06.2009
01.07.2009 to 31.10.2009
01.11.2009 to 31.12.9999
The required display or change is in the decending order in Inforecord Conditions
01.11.2009 to 31.12.9999
01.07.2009 to 31.10.2009
01.11.2008 to 30.06.2009
23.10.2008 to 31.10.2008
What are the setting required to get the output as above in the decending order?

Hi,
SAP Standard for the infor record is the Ascending Order
The old validity period will be displayed and in the end the latest validity period is displayed
Go to the program SAPMM06I
with the help of ABAP Technical just check whether it is possible to change
I think it is not possible .

Release strategy for Future validity period- (Outline agreements)

Dear All,
I want to create release strategy for Scheduling agreement.But I am creating the SA for furure validity period.In this case how the release strategy will triger.
E.g Today 09.03.09 I create a Sceduling agreement and the validity period I maintain is from 01.06.09 to 31.12.09 and Amount say 100 Rs.
I am using Characteristics Doct type and Amount.. The system checks the rate as on date (i.e on 09.03.09) and since it doesnt find any value the Release strategy is not trigeering.
How to set up release strategy in the above case.

Hi Amar,
1) if you maintain a target value (EKKO-KTWRT) in the header of the
contract this value is the basis for the determination of the release
strategy. If the target value is 0, the system will cumulate the
values of the items and will use this value for the determination.
2) So if the target value is 0 and you change the price of a condition
with a validity period in the future the system will react in the
following way:
Example:
   the contract contains one item with quantity = 100 and a net price
of EUR 5,-.
   all contracts with a target value from EUR 0 - 1.000,- should be
subject of a release strategy
   the contract is created and released on October the 1st
   ME32K -> October the 2nd you define a new price of EUR 7,- with a
validity period from 03.10.09 - 30-10.09 -> you save the contract
-> the release strategy is not reset, as the start date is not
reached yet (system date < startdate of validity period)
   ME32K October the 3rd you change a field in the contract -> the
release strategy is reset
This is system design that a release strategy can only be reset through
an action by the user. The determination of the release strategy can't
be triggered automatically in the background.
If you create a document which is subject of an overall release strategy
(e.g. p.o., contract) the determination of the release strategy takes
place when the user hits the 'save' button or chooses the 'check'
function.
So there must be a kind of event that tells the system that something
has changed.
