After I plug in my iphone to my laptop and it syncs, I cannot open my apps on the phone. They just vibrate. What am I not doing right?
Wham am I doing wrong? After I plug my iphone into my computer and it syncs, it will not let me open any of my apps. WHen I press them, they just vibrate and won't open. ANy ideas???
Is this the wiggling that you get when you hold down an app? If so, this is by design. When they wiggle, you can move them around. To stop them wiggling, just press the home button. Then you can just tap an app to open it.

Did you check the box that says 'Synchronize Apps'? This happened to a friend and after she enabled this synchronization she was able to use her apps as she did before.

I upgraded from Iphone 3g to iphone 4. I had to update my macbook pro to Lepard just to sync. the **** thing with the new iphone 4. I bought and updated to lepard. Now when I try to sync itunes does not recognize my new iphone 4 as mine and wants to erase everything I have bought using the phone before it will sync! I was so frustrated by this when I first bought the phone that I just pushed it out of my mind and NEVER synced it. Please help...Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version. The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.

A relative synced my iphone with his laptop without me knowing. It had a passcode on the phone but the sync still worked. I have since found out he is quite IT knowledgeable and has been known to track other peoples phones that he wants to know information about. How is my data useful to him and can he restore this data on another iPhone and run it parallel to mine? I have had people send me messages which I have not received. These have been screen shot to me later including time and I have just not got them. I had 4 weeks worth of messages go missing from my phone..I know that he synced my phone because his work laptops I'd came up in my settings. Also if the above can be done can he change the settings on my actual phone and access my location without placing tracking software on my phone. Can someone please help here as I can't restore a backup to my phone for obvious reasons and refuse to change my number because of this loser.
Connect the device to the computer.
In iTunes, select the content desired to sync.
Sync.

It sounds like the battery might have gone bad, and is swelling and causing the symptoms you describe. Do not attempt to use the phone, but take it to Apple for evaluation.

You need to find out who the carrier was in Switzerland and see if they will unlock the device. The carrier with the lock is the only one that can authorize the unlock. You may need to check with the original owner and see if they can get it unlocked by the carrier if you do not qualify.

My personal ringtones are on my iPhone 5, they are attached to the correct phone numbers and play correctly when I test them on each contact. But when I receive a call instead of the proper ringtone, it plays the generic. What Am I not doing right?
You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

In iphoto go to preferences > general and al the bottom will be a drop down menu that will say connecting camera opens: just change this from iphoto to no application

I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.

Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

The iCloud backups just dont work for me so I use the computer backup intead and works fine. If you can make a computer backup.

After I plug in my iPhone, iTunes gets hung trying to back it up. Clicking the "x" next to the backup window does nothing.
Try this:
Quit iTunes.
Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu>All Programs>Accessories>right-click "Command Prompt">choose "Run as Administrator")
Once in the command prompt, type "netsh winsock reset" and hit ENTER.
Reboot your machine.
Restart iTunes.
If that doesn't resolve it you'll have to go to iTunes>Preferences, on the Devices tab click on the backups shown and delete them. Then try syncing again. -
