Alerts on SMS

Dear All,
We need to setup alerts on SMS for daily and monthly jobs running in BI. The criteria is
1. Job finishes with zero record.
2. When there is a double load for the same set of data.
3. If the record count is more than 25% of the previous loads.
Kindly help us for the same, will be very helpful if you can provide end to end solution.
Regards.

  • Where's the repeat alert for sms?

As I read 2.1 update contents, it mentioned that there was a repeat alert for sms? Can anyone help with how to make this work?
    Thanks!

A couple of times mine has gone off a second time even though I had already viewed the text message. Or sometimes I see a text message come in when the phone is locked and I see the preview and don't turn the phone on, it will give me a second alert. I don't think this was something that people really needed. It's more of a nuisance.

  • SMS & Voicemail Alert - HELP!

I have a BB 8310 and ATT as the service provider. I want to set up my phone to give me an alert when I receive a voicemail messages manual indicates the same alert tone is used for both SMS & voicemail. However, I get an SMS I get an alert but I do not with voicemail.  Why am I not getting it for both? How do I fix it?
I would prefer to separate the alert for SMS and Voicemail with each having a different tone.
I have been searching the internet and found nothing that works. One web site said to upgrade my Blackberry 8310Desktop software to version 6 or higher. The 8310 model can only use 4.5 or lower. Another said to change it under profiles by selecting voicemail, but that is not an option.
I have spent hour and hours and nothing had worked. If anyone has figures out please help!
    Thank you.

    Hi shaokotan,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
If you are not receiving any notifications of new voicemail, I would advise contacting your wireless service provider as voicemail is a carrier controlled service.
Voicemail notifications are received on your BlackBerry® Curve™ 8310 smartphone via SMS and because of this an SMS notification should be received when a voicemail is received. This KB article provides more information. "How to change alerts for new voice mail messages on a BlackBerry smartphone" http://bbry.lv/QxGjvA

  • How to set an alert for unauthorized ClearPass login

Q: As a network administrator, how do i set alerts for a unauthorized access to ClearPass server (via SMS or Mail) ?
A: A network admin would want to know, if someone unauthorized is trying to access the ClearPass server. The solution below explains, how a SMS/Mail alert can be set on ClearPass server for the same.
Manual to way for a admin to check ClearPass login is via Event Viewer. Here the Alert level is WARN  for a invalid login.
However for an automatic alert, we need to take following steps:
In order to send alerts via Mail, we need to configure SMTP server on ClearPass
        2.  In order to send alerts via SMS we need to configure SMS gateway
      3.   Now once the Mail and SMS config is done, we need to set Alerts. For that we need to navigate to CPPM > Administration > Server Manager > Server Configuration > Cluster-Wide Parameters > Notifications
     4.   Here the system alert level is set to WARN (same for a Invalid login attempt) to capture unauthorized ClearPass login attempts.

    Thank you for the code.
Is it correct to put that code under VALIDATE > run custome validate script, within the Properties box?
Because I tried it, and it worked only AFTER I typed a number onto the field.
Since my goal is to have the alert BEFORE, so if someone typed in a text, they should see the alert and correct themselves to type in a number instead.
    Please clarify.
    Thanks!

  • Viewing alert in my RWB ALERT INBOX !!!

    Hi all
I have read the blogs/forums in order to implement my alert inbox but until now I don´t know why my I can not see my alerts in the Run Time Workbench Alert Inbox.
Please see the steps that I have performed.
    In the Abap Side
I have created an alert category D with this information:
In the properties tab  I fill  the values fields for Description, priority,Max no of   dels, expiry time in min, escalation active, escalation recipient, tolerance
In the container tab I have entered some variables
I fill the long and short text for email
In Settings ---Configurations      I have only filled the status handling mails  for errors status and the logging fields
In the Runtime Work bench Alert Configuration
I have created a new rule for my category
When I go to the rwb alert inbox , no error was triggered
In the SLG1 transaction for alert  I have this error : No e-mail address is entered in Customizing for XML forwarding
Do I have to enter an email address in the Settings ---Configurations?
My purposes are to show the error alerts in RWB alert inbox …
In my above descriptions do I had to configure something else?
be aware that services are running ok .Please give me a step by step action that I have to realize in order to trigger the alerts in the RWB alert inbox.
I have already read the forums, blogs and note for this, I am a little confused because my implementations are not working.

    Hi,
    Try this...
         1.      From the alert category definition environment (transaction ALRTCATDEF), choose Settings -> Configuration.
           2.      Ensure you are in change mode.
           3.      If you want to be able to confirm alerts by SMS or Internet mail, you must enter the user created to receive all incoming mails in the Inbound Processing section. For more information, see Alert Confirmation.
           4.      In the Status Handling for Mails section, you can specify which statuses are to be reported. The first setting refers to the system being informed, and the second refers to a status mail being sent to the sender.
           5.      In the Logging section, select Write Log only if you want additional information about the actual processing of the alerts. This information is logged using the standard application log and can be viewed in transaction SLG1 (object ALERT).

I just came cross a post elaborating alerting configuration from Aashish Sinha, hope it helps,
    Liang
    =====Post from Aashish Sinha=======
    Prerequisites
The following prerequisites have to be met in order to use the Alert Management (ALM):
    · For using the Alert Inbox (BSP based display program of ALM), the corresponding service has to be activated in the service maintenance transaction SICF. Choose Default_host ? sap ? bc ? bsp ? sap ? alert inbox, and Activate in the context menu.
    · For customizing or administration of the Alert Management the corresponding authorization role has to be assigned. The end users do not need any additional authorization.
    · The central alert server must be maintained as an RFC destination in transaction SM59 in the local system. If there is no suitable user, you have to create a user for the RFC connection in the central alert system in transaction SU01. To make this RFC destination known as the RFC destination of the Alert Management System in the local system, the central alert server must also be selected as the RFC destination in transaction SALRT1 of the local system or in Settings ? RFC-Destination of Alert Server.
If the central alert server is running on the local system in the same client, you do not have to maintain an RFC destination. In this case, you can simply enter NONE in transaction SALRT1.
    · If external communication types, such as e-mail, SMS, and fax are used, these communication types must be correctly configured in SAPconnect, because the alerts are then sent from the central alert system via SAPconnect.
    Process Flow
The following describes the process flow from alert configuration (transaction ALRTCATDEF) to alert display and confirmation (for example in the alert inbox transaction ALRTINBOX):
    1. Optional: You can define alert classifications. These are useful to group alert categories. For example, you can create an alert classification CRM that contains alert categories referring to CRM. Alert classifications can now have subclassifications. This enables you to build up your own classification hierarchy. Especially, if you use the Alert Mangement (ALM) extensively, classification and subclassification help you to organize your ALM alert landscape and to have a clear overview.
    2. For different types of alerts you have to define different categories. The category contains various properties and other specifications that define the alerts within that category, for example expiry date, or the escalation recipient. You can define an alert category to suit your business requirements and assign the category to the corresponding classification. For example, for the alert classification CRM you can create the alert categories Contract Cancelled and Decrease in Sales. When the critical situation defined in the alert category arises, the system recognizes this and sends an alert instance of this category to the recipients determined. The alerts can always be found in the display programs configured for the recipient (UWL, application-specific program, or alert inbox). Additionally, the alerts are sent via eventual external communication channels, such as e-mail, sms, or fax.
    3. You have to determine recipients so that the Alert Management knows who the recipients of alerts of a particular category are and that the correct parties are informed.
    4. You can configure the way how alerts are processed. For the general use of the Alert Management you do not have to change the default settings. However, if for example you want to send alerts to third-party systems, or to be able to confirm alerts by SMS/Internet mail, or to have logs written, then you have to configure alert processing.
    5. There is a number of Alert Management administration reports that you must schedule according to your requirements. For example, report RSALERTPROC must be executed in order to enable escalation.
    6. Alerts of a particular category must be triggered by an application at runtime. Triggering alerts can be done in various ways. You can call a function module directly or use middleware components that trigger alerts, such as the Business Object Repository (BOR), Post Processing Framework (PPF), SAP Workflow, or CCMS.
    7. Recipients can view the alerts assigned to them in the UWL of Enteprise Portal, in application-specific display programs, or in the alert inbox. In addition, alerts can be received as e-mail, SMS, or fax, if these external communication channels are configured in SAPconnect.
    8. If the problem causing the alert is solved by a recipient, the recipient can confirm the alert, this means its status is changed and it will not be delivered, escalated, or displayed anymore. Alerts are generally confirmed by the recipient in the display program, such as the UWL or Alert Inbox. However, if an alert is sent by Internet mail or SMS message, it is also possible to confirm it by sending an Internet mail or SMS message back to the SAP system. Alert Management uses inbound processing for this.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Alert Notification Configuration

    Hello Experts,
Please bear with me as my question might be very basic.
We want to configure automatic email / sms notification on our landscape , only ABAP (ECC5.0 & ECC 6.0) , only Java (640,700) and ABAP+JAVA. We do have solution manager 7.0 installed.
Having no experience in this, so please provide relevent documentation.
Is it possible to get alerts (email/sms) in case Update is deactivated (becuase of any reason like space). Sometime back, this happened and we observed only after couple of hours, at least now we want to avoid such situation in future.
Similar to this, can we define alerts for critical areas like - huge number of lock entries, short dumps, etc, etc.
How Solution manager can be used in this regard.
Thanks for spending your time in reading this.
    Regards
    Davinder

    Davinder,
This is not the right forum to ask questions how to configure system monitoring using Solution Manager.
You should better post this in Solution Mnagaer forum
but still to start with I would recommend you to go through the following link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/EN/5b/0c9ccfd262427685c245d7ea85cd7a/content.htm
This will help you configure system monitoring using Solution manager,it does cover all the points that you want
Also there are many blogs available in the Solution manager forum, when you go to the Solution Mnagaer forum, you will find the first thread for blogs, there you will see a lot of blogs which tell the possible configurations of Solution Manager which includes system monitoring also
Let me know of any questions

I've only been using a Tour since early September. Not long after I got it, it stopped giving me the set audible alert for SMS Texts while in holster and it would give me a different one than I had set out of the holster. It's a company phone. I took it to a Sprint store, the tech dujour checked it quickly and said I needed a new one. Company replaced it and low and behold 24 hours after the new one's set up it's doing the same exact thing. It's gotta be me and something I'm doing wrong. Any advice and thanks.
