Asset value transfer day

In my asset module, some one change the asset cut over day to be 2010.9.28 and complete AS91, in that case, how to find the list of those legacy assets transfered at cut over day, any table or T-code to check? if asset is transfered at 2010.9.28, in Sept 2010, do we do AFAB in new system or old system? in Oct 2010, do we do AFAB in new system or old system?
My system is strange, last depreciation month for book depreciation is 2006.4, inconsistent with asset cut over day (2010.9.28),
what's the reason of this design? I create asset using AS91 under cutover day 2011.9. it shows from Jan .2011---Aug. 2011 plan depreciation for that asset, and plan depreciation for Oct 2011 onwards is inconsistent with old original asset.
if I change last depreciation period to be 2011.9 under SPRO asset production set up , it shows correct plan depreciation, does it mean we need to change last depreciation period to be same as cutover day? is it necessary?

Hi,
Below are my comments.
1) for listing of legacy fixed asset transfer, a short description for e.g. "FA xfer 2010", usually entered into the text / assignment / reference field which could be used for future reference. If such information is not available, the next option will be to use table 'BKPF' > filtered by 'Co. code', 'Transaction code = AS91', 'Posting date from 01.09.2010 to 30.09.2010' and etc.
2) If the asset transfer cutover date is 28 Sept 2010 and last depreciation period set to Sept 2010 (the depreciation for period 09/2010, i.e. within cutover period, should have already been carried out in the legacy system). After the legacy assets have been transferred into the new system, then the depreciation of assets from period 10/2010 onwards will be done in the new system.
3)For the last period depreciation, 2006.4 setting is indeed strange for cutover date (2010.9.28), but SAP allows this setting to be changed accordingly.
4) As for cutover and last depreciation period, the recommendation is to have the same periods but it is not a must, you can have cutover date on 28.09.2011 and last depreciation period on 08/2011 then you only have maximum three days to finalise asset transfer including depreciation run for period 09 in the new systems. If the last depriciation is 09/2011 then you have more time to finalise asset transfer and depreciation run for period 10 in Oct 2011.
Hope the above helps.
Kind regards,
John Chin

  • Transfer partial asset values from completed asset to AUC/other asset

    Hi All
Is it possible to transfer partial asset values from completed asset to AUC/other asset.
if yes please let me know how to do that?

I already checked T code ABUMN
But by using this code whole asset value is transferred ; I want to transfer only partial value.
eg. If i postasset value of Rs. 1000 to a machine & capitalise it. But after posting i found that actual asset value is only Rs. 600 and balance is of another asset.
then how can i transfer balance asset value of Rs. 400 to another asset card.

  • Asset accounting-transfer

we are purchase in asset 01-01-2007, and immdiately comes in the production on that day, here asset value is 10,00,000. and also depreciation is calculated on 3 months@10%(jan, feb, march) now we are transfer in to another co code, (not for in the same client) out side co code, IN the month of APRIL-1st  in this what we do the customization for the transfering, which fields are selected plz give the detail information, help for this........

First of all you have to start with defining Intercompany accounts in Acct determination setcion (T-code AO90).
Than go to the IMG: AA>Transactions>Intercompany Asset transfer>Automatic Intercompany Asset transfer>Define Transfer Variants> Specify Transfer of Fields (for New Asset in Target CoCd)... select your Transfer variant (e.g. 1- Gross Method) double click Logical field group master data on left side than select the field group name for eg. General Data and double click on Field transfer of field groups and the check the checkbox for the fields that you want to get it transfered in new co. code. You can do the same thing for Depreciation Areas and check for Usefullife, ord. deprec start date, scrap value .. and so forth that you want to carry over in transfered asset.
    Plz assign points if helpful.

  • Error in Asset Value carry forward to next year

As a regular periodic process of Month/Year closing activities in SAP, Asset Year 2015 was opened and then closes the year 2014 and carried forward the Asset values to the year 2015. But unfortunately some of the Asset value had not been transferred to the year 2015. As a result, Depreciation had not been charged for those Asset for the year 2015. Need to transfer the Asset value to the current year immediately. Can any one help me regarding the problem ? The APC Start value is showing in the year 2014 but its not showing in 2015.
The Closing value of Current APC of year 2014 does not match with the Opening value of the APC Start, so what should be the possible reasons for that ?

    Hi Erika,
I did that on last January 2015. First i use the T-code: AJRW for the Fiscal Year Change and then T-code: AJAB - for Year end-closing Asset Accounting as i did that for last 4 years. Though there was as error message indicating error in depreciation calculation, our consultant assured me that that will not create any problem. The Error was like below:
600981       0    Secretariat Table                              2014 Error in dep. calculation

  • Problem in Asset value calculation ... ANEP and ANLC

    Hellö ,
We have a problem in calculation of the Fixed Asset values. Please see the link below for the problem. Technically it sums up like transaction values are available in the table ANEP but ANLC table is with the wrong value, Some of the transactions are not reflecting in the calculations of planned values for some of the Assets.
    http://docs.google.com/View?id=ddqnbgm8_49cmgq86gx
We develop and implemented a functionality with the next
    characteristics:
    a. When we ran the MIRO transaction to a fixed asset situation, a
substitution in accounting documents (using a user-exit ) determines
the profit center to the fixed asset and insert the line
    item in a custom table.
    b. The custom program identifies all pending line items for processing
(via custom table) and, for each fixed asset identified, reverse the
original accounting document, and post the fixed asset in the profit
center '04219CL000'. To do this movement between the profit
center '04106CL000' and '04219CL000' the custom program uses a zero
    balance account.
    c. First of all, the custom program set the Field <negative values>
    (BAPI1022_DEP_AREAS- NEG_VALUES) using the function
BAPI_FIXEDASSET_CHANGE. Later the custom program post the accounting
    document using the function BAPI_ACC_GL_POSTING_POST;
    d. In less than 1% of the cases the fixed asset posted in this process
it seems with a problem: the asset line itens (transactions  - ANEP
table) where correct posted but the fixed asset acquisition values
(ANLC table) where posted in a wrong way (it's initialized - without
any value sometime or not summing up some transaction values properly).
    e. Our custom program does not update any field value on the asset.
All the modifications on the asset are being made by the standard
    functions above.

    Hi,
the problem is: Does anybody give you the correct value for each part?
If you know the value for each part you can use transaction ABUMN to transfer values from one asset to a new asset. With this transaction you can create a new asset. And you can make a partial transfer.
If you use this transaction you can simulate before you transfer it.
But as I said the problem is to find out the correct value. In germany for example we have to activate all in one fixed asset (computer with cbu )
    Hope this answer your question.
    Best regards
    Volker

  • Asset Value Date determination during settlement from Orders or WBS!

    Hi,
I have a scenario on the asset value date and I am not sure what went wrong, asset side or CO side.
    The scenario is as following:
    1. Asset was converted into the system by 7/31/2008 with $10000.
    2. The capitalized on date is 2/29/2008 on the asset master data.
    3. On 8/31/ 2008, I charged $300 to an internal order and settled the $300 to this asset. The Asset Value Date on the Asset Explorer is 8/15/2008.
    4. On 9/30/2008, I charged #500 to the same internal order and settled the $500 to this asset, the Asset value date on the asset explorer for this charge is still 8/15/2008.
This messed up the depreciation of this asset. Does anyone know how to control the asset value date from the settlement? Do we need to config in Asset side or in Order side? I want the $300 charge's value date is on 8/15/2008 and $500 value date on 9/15/2008. Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Ting

In the settlement you can fill in the asset values date.
The first posting is the basis for capitalization date(when you don't fill it in manual), when you fill it in for the second time the Asset Value Date it is no longer relefant.
This is only important when you have say in your depreciation key that the depreciation is based on days( see the help on this field)

  • Asset Value Date Exit and Enhancement

    Hi,
We have a requirement from customer, that the asset value date in ANY asset posting transaction cannot be less than or equal to 30.06.2014 it should always be 01.07.2014 or higher.
So, please let me know if there is any User Exit which can be used to restrict the Asset Value Date. If yes, then will this User Exit work for all transaction codes, or we need to write different logic for every transaction code.
    Please advise.

    Hi,
To transfer one asset to another asset within a company code can be done through ABUMN only.
While doing this transfer you have enter the document date, posting date, and value date for the transaction, but all these dates should be in same fiscal year only.
In your case you must have been entered the dates for asset value date and posting date , and these two dates are in diff financial years.
Please make sure that both the dates are in same FY.
Hope this will fix your issue.

  • Asset Value Date & Posting Date as defaulte date

    Dear All,
In CJ88,the posting date & value date is 31.10.2009 by default. The asset value date provided by us is 28.10.2009. The posting date & value date should be the actual date of entry (28.10.2009 in this case) by default.
    How can we do this.
    Do revert
    Regards,

Regrettably to inform you that in R/3 standard, posting date is always
the last day of the period to settle as settlement is a period end
operation. The document date is the day when the operation is performed.
Considering AuC is involved in this case, please check transaction CJ88,
where you will find the field 'asset value date', where you can manually enter the asset value date you want to have.

  • One asset value to be transferred into different new asset codes

    Hello,
I have one asset which has to be transferred into different new asset values. The instance as below:
    Old Asset: 1000
    Value: Rs. 10000
    Transferred into
    New asset code: 1100
    Value: Rs. 3000
    New Asset: 1200
    Value: Rs. 2000
    New Asset: 1300
    Value: Rs. 5000
How to proceed? I have tried in ABUMN with partial Transfer but unable to get the result. Need help.
    JK

    Hi,
This can be done through ABUMN only.
You have to post 3 transactions individually to that old asset.
For the first ABUMN transaction choode partial transfer and choose amount specification and enter 3000
For the second ABUMN transaction choode partial transfer and choose amount specification and enter 2000
For the last ABUMN transaction choode Complete retiremnet.(So the balance of 5000 will be transfered to the third new asset)
    Please check.

  • Asset value adjustments.

    Hi Gurus,
i have a problem in asset accounting.
one of my user did GR wrongly so i need to transfer the asset vlaue to correct asset.
the Gr was done in 2008 Dec.
as the posting periods were already closed iam doing asset transfer in 2009.
first i writeup the depreciation posted in 2008, then iam doing trnasfer by ABUMN, but when iam doing it system doing soem amount back posting to the previous accoutn as Adjustment amount.
what exactly this amount is and i need to transfer the whole value wrongly posted to the first asset, but cant successful.
Gr posted to asset X which is already in use.
iam transfering the value to Y in 2009.
but i need to tranfer around 4000
and i did Writeup before doing the tranfer.
but when doing ABUMN system posting to X from Y amoutn 200 as value adjustment which user dont want.
Pls help me to resolve this issue.
    thanks in advance

Raj understood the logic of value adjustment line. The values are posted in asset and acc dep GL's only in the new Cocd.
But now how do we scrap the asset using abavn wherein the result should make asset a/c and acc. dep a/c zero. When we tested in QA to retire this asset via abavn, then the resulting entry was asset a/c Cr and BV of FA sold a/c Dr and the asset report shows asset value as Nil but the Acc dep A/c still shows the dep amt. So, obviously instead of debiting the Acc dep a/c in abavn it has debited to BV of FA sold A/c. Now, my problem is how to nullify these using Asset accounting functionalities. Since its post automatically accounts and recon accounts , so we cant post a manual JE.
    Looking forward for your advice.

  • Split of asset value to sub numbers in AA

    Hello
Situation is that the main asset number has to be split into more sub asset numbers, but I would like to 'remove' the acq values and acc depreciations from the main asset number and split it on the sub assets in Asset Accounting. How to do this?
    Thanks in advance

Hmmm, even though I have tried this I don't succeed...
In customizing 'Define Transfer Variant', 'Maintain Transfer Variant' the settings are '2, *, 1, 300, 310'. Still I get the message about transaction type 152...
    In ABUMN I enter:
    Transaction data:
    Asset number
Transfer to Asset number and subnumber
    Additional details:
    Transfer variant 4
    Partial Transfer
    Percentage rate 10

  • Asset balance transfer is showing blank in AW01N

    Hi,
One user created asset under wrong asset class and one month depreciation was posted of that wrong asset. in the month of september. Now user has created new asset under proper asset class and made balance transfer from wrong asset to newly created asset through ABUMN in month of October i.e, period 7. In ABUMN we have transfered to New Asset  field. After successful balance transfer old asset become deactivated and balance has come to new asset but through AW01N I cannot see the balance which is showing blank under planned value, posted values. Even new asset's first acquisition on date and Acquistion Year is showing as blank.
How it can be rectified ?
    Regards,
    Anindita

    Hi Srinivasa,
during balance transfer through ABUMN I used old asset number in Asset Field, Document date, posting date, asset value date and under Transfer to tab I put new asset number in New Asset Field - Mster data - Asset Class - Company Code/Asst Number and made tick on subnumber and simulated finally. Accounting document generated properly. Even through FS10N I can see GL balance also against this asset number. But if I go through AS02 or AS03 or AW01N it is showing as blank. No values are showing. I think I made mistake in ABUMN, instead of putting value under Existing Asset field I wrongly used New asset. As a result I cannot see the date under "First Acquisition on" and ""Acquisition Year". What should I do ? Should I cancel the asset again and create new asset and transfer again or any other procedure . Becasue if First Acquisition on date and Acquisition Year appear in asset master against this new asset, automatically value will in Aw01n.

    Anindita
