Assigning markups on base cost?

Hello -
I am doing a schedule and I am needing to show what the base price is and then two markups on that price. Is there a good way to do this in P6? I have thought about assigning three resources per activity and cost loading it like that, but wasn't sure if someone may have a better insight.

assigning resources to activities with different price/units is the way to go especially if resources are needed (or at least useful) for other functionalities than project activity costing. the downside would be that there is no easy way to import resource price info (e.g. from MS Excel) and/ or calculate one price/unit from base price/unit using markups.
if cost loading your activities is all you need, I would use expenses. the easiest way would be to create one activity with one (or several) expense item(s) attached to it. copy that to the desired number of activities (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C,Ctrl+V). set expense price/unit (P/U) for each activity to desired base price. Budgeted Expense Cost (BC) is calculated as Budgeted Expense Units (BU) * Expense Price/Unit (P/U)
using BU of 1 you get the base cost. using BU of less/ more than 1 you apply discounts/ markups. you can use fill down in expense window and/or globalchanges to assign custom values or recalculate values for all parameters.
you cannot directly import expense P/U from MS Excel, but you can import BU.
using a P/U of 1 you get base cost (BC = BU*P/U)
you can transfer BU to P/U and reset BU to 1, using a global change such as this:
Then     Parameter     Is     Parameter/Value     Operator     Parameter/Value
     Price / Unit     =     Budgeted Units          
And     Budgeted Units     =     1.000          
you can increase or decrease with/by x either your P/U or your BU, using a global change such as this:
Then     Parameter     Is     Parameter/Value     Operator     Parameter/Value
     Price / Unit     =     Price / Unit     *     x

    Unable to print the serial number on the AR invoice when the AR invoice is based on notehr document ie a delivery note. I believe i will have to use a formatted look up filed on the AR invoice to get the serial number.

    I have slightly modified the query as i need to get the document number not the basedoc number. So the idea is to populate the delivery document number on the AR invoice using formatted search
    Below query works fine with a hard coded delivery no. I dont want to hard code the delivery no. There for i changed replaced the the last bit with $[$8.0.1]. But the query does not work. Any help pl

  • Cisco Security Manager some firewalls don't have global policies assigned for the base definitions

    Hello Experts,
    In CSM 4.6 I noticed, some firewalls don't have global policies assigned for the base definitions like (SSH/SNMP/syslog/AAA,etc).
    Unfortunately in Cisco CSM each policy has to be applied individually, it's easy to miss one policy or another. Is there any better way to verify and get the list of devices, which does not have SSH/SNMP/syslog/AAA

    Sorry if this comes to late, I just now came across this thread.  I have rtorrent and rutorrent sunning successfully on my x64 Arch Linux install.
    Try putting the "SCGIMount /RPC2 127.0.0.1:5000" line in your httpd.conf file right after the LoadModule lines (it's line 124 for me).
    I seem to recall it not working when I put it at the end of the file.

  • Trx KKPHIE: assigning single objects to cost objects hierarchy through BDC

    Is there a way to assign single object to cost object hierarchy.
    The ALV TREE button "Assignmnet single objs on/off" does not seem to trigger an OKCODE since it is managed in the abap object (class).
    Is there is way to make a BDC. Or other ways to enter that data in BG, like a BAPI.
    - Tried the BDC recorder without success
    - Did not find a BAPI
    - Did not find anything interesting in SWO1 business object BUS2076.
    Any clue ?

    Ok, we found the solution. Simply use the old transaction "KKP2" instead of "KKPHIE"

    for Activity based costing
    1. Master data are
      >>Material master with Accounting and costing views and proper valuation class and price assignment (S or V)
    >>  Valid BOM
    >> Workcenter with valid costcenter, activity and formaula assignment ( CO activity - Primary cost element, secondary cost element, activity definition, cost center creation and price planning (KP26)
    >> valid Routing with Standard values
    if all the master data are maintained then you can create the standard cost estimate using a appropriate costing variant
    ( Example PPC1)
    once successfully created you can review the quantity structure for cost of Goods sold, overheads, activity costs etc.
    then it will be released for price update in material master.
    the release of cost estimate wil be a periodic process may be monthly or yearly

    Mayby you mean fixed and variable costs?
    Variable costs are expenses that change in proportion to the activity of a business.
    For example, a manufacturing firm pays for raw materials. When activity is decreased, less raw material is used, and so the spending for raw materials falls. When activity is increased, more raw material is used and spending therefore rises.
    Fixed costs are business expenses that are not dependent on the level of production or sales.
    For example, a retailer must pay rent and utility bills irrespective of sales.

    Planning at KP26 for Activities itself is integration between Activity and Cost center.
    Once you do this, your problems is solved.

    Dear Gurus,
                    I need to know the Network, Assignment, Profit Centre and Cost centre fields in the CJ20N transaction.
                    I have got a requirement to fetch the above fields for every project. I can find the Project name in table PROJ under the field PSPID and the WBS element in table PRPS under the field POSID.

    Use FM "'BBP_PS_PROJECT_GET_LIST" to get the complete structure of the Project defined in the txn CJ20N.
    Just pass the Project number to this FM and you will get all the details under different Internal Tables.
    Execute this FM in SE37 for any of the Existing Project of yours in CJ20N.

    Just a suggestion, try looking into the standard program SAPMK70B and see how SAP creates such objects. I have not worked on it so cannot thrust more light.

    There are two ways COPA captures data
    . Costing based
    . Account based
    • Both use Characteristics to store the data abt info that is updates in COPA
    • Characteristics (Customers,Sales office,Sales grp,Material number,Strategic business unit,Co code,Profit center,Sales employee,Cont area,Prod hierarchy etc)
    Main diff in how the 2 methods store data involves qty and values
    • Costing based stores values and qty in Value fields
    • Account based stores them in cost elements (accts) used in FI and rest of CO
    • Value fields group together similar values and qty
    <b>Costing based COPA</b>
    1-Costing based COPA allows you to manage sales based on when sales docs update and when data is trans from FI and other CO modules
    2- Normally the largest data trans to COPA is from SD billing docs
    3-Normal doc flow
            . Sales order
             .Delivery (creates goods issue - debit COGS / credit Inventory)
            . Billing docs (updates A/R, Sales revenue, Disc, Freights etc)
    4-costing based COPA, COPA is not updated until billing docs are created
    <b>Account based COPA</b>
    1-Allows users to reconcile COPA data to FI data
    2-According to the accts posted instead of the value fields
    3-Data mainly trans from billing docs again
    4-Acct based COPA updated during the delivery and creation of billing docs and not
       after itlike costing based
    5-Normal doc flow
             1-Sales order
             2-Delivery (COGS is updated in COPA here itself)
            3- Billing docs

    Assets assigned to each WBS
    Actual costs
    It would be perfect CJI3 but it doesn't show assets. In AM I haven't see either any report that shows WBS elements...
    any ideas???

    You are right: it doesn't exist.
    You have to create a custom one, of work with Excel with the aim of merge tha data from FI-AA, PS, and MM.

    There is not a standard report which can cater to your requirements. You need to develop one.
    You can take the refernece from CNS41 report for development. Some of the fields you need are PRPS-XSTAT for statistical WBS and will have to use tables ANLA and ANLC to fetch asset master data.

  • Where to assign GL Account to cost center?

    Actually in MIGO T.C , I  am issuing the material against the cost center.Now in MIGO T.C ,  in Account Assignment tab i give the cost center and other requied data and save.And in display mode when i check that document than by default system takes the GL Account.Now my question is where we assign the G/L Account to cost center?In FS00 T.C i checked in Edit cost element for that account, there in Default account assignment , no cost center is maintained.So from where system is picking this G/L Account?

    Hi Jitendra,
    This setting is made in OBYC. This actually MM & FI integration.
    You check this in OBYC.
    1.First check your valuation class in material master.
    2.Then goto OBYC.
    3. Double click on GBB transaction key
    4.This will pop up chart of account.Maintain chart of account & enter.
    5.Here you will see that GL account for combination of Genral modification VBR & Valuation class.
    VBR: for internal goods issues (for example, for cost center)
    That means whenever you do Goods issue of material  for cost center which having same valuation class,this GL account will be automatically assigned.

    We are Implementing SRM 5.5, Extended Classic Scenario for Goods and Services (Stock and Consumables).
    I have 400 cost centers. How to assign G/L Accounts to multiple cost centers, in Define G/L Accounts for Account assignment category and Product category?.
    I guess, By using BADI - BBP_DETERMINE_ACCT. If this is correct, Do we have to develop any ZTABLE for this. Or only BADI enough?.
    Please anyone explain details.

    Hi,
    Cost Center is related with user. Setting is attributes in PPOMA_BBP.
    G/L account is related with Product category and Account Assignment Category. Setting is in standard customizing table.
    If standard customizing is not enough, you can use BBP_DETERMINE_ACCT BADI.
