Availability check gives missing parts because of POu200F

Hello All,
For production order creation and order release we have different types of availability checks:
1: Order creation: check all purchase orders
2: Order release: do not take purchase orders into account
The problem with this is that as soon as we want to release a production order, the future purchase orders are not taken into account, but the corresponding production orders (created ones) are. This yields missing parts at release, even though there is enough in stock.
How can this be solved?
Regards,
Marc

Hi!
I came across that post previously & have already gone through each setting on it.
The Check Rule has been maintained correctly in config via txn OPPJ.
My issue is that it's not being displayed on the Missing Parts view of MDVP, but it is when I look @ the Availability Check when run on the Planned Order.
The Check Rule column is blank on MDVP but it's populated on MD12.
Any idea why?
Thanks,
k

  • Missing part check

plz explain the difference bwt dynamic availability check and missing part check.
    thank you

Avlblty check - the stock existing in the system are taken into account to perform avlblty check .It covers all the stock affected at plant storage location and special stock level .
Addition to above physically avlbl stock - the stock is also checkd frm MRP viewpoint - planned reciepts . This is called dynamic avlblty check
Missing PART is that stock of material which is already assigned to goods issue at the time of GR . so such a missing part is directly frwdd to the point where is is needed at the time of reciept
there are certain settings which are required to perform dynamic avlblty chk and missing part chk

  • Availability check for configurable material.

    Hi,
We are implementing SAP ECC-6 & facing
    issue during availability check for
    configurable materials.
I'd like to take an example of
    computer for better understanding.
Will consider Computer as super BOM and
    following 2 as BOM:-
    BOM-1. a)Monitor b) Cpu c)Key
    Board d)Scroll Mouse e)With
    Mouse Pad.
    BOM_2. a)Monitor b) Cpu c)Key
    Board d)Optical Mouse e)With
    out Mouse Pad.
    But Customer wants A)Monitor B)Cpu c)
Key Board D)Optical Mouse e) With
    Mouse Pad.
In the above case System will not show
    %age of Configurable materials
available & Vice-versa but rather it
    creates requirement for computer and
it gives availability as the lead time
maintained in the Material Master of
    the Super Bom.
Here the busines requirement is that
it should show %age of configurable
    materials
    available.
Plz find the attachment for your kind
    reference.
Kindly guide me to sort out this issue.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Dear Sir,
Thanks for the guidance/ reply . Still we have some doubts in this:
As per your instructions, I have created sales order and  did the MRP run for the same.
I got the planned order, then I have checked the ATP in Planned order change view and got the following results.
    No. of components checked:   641
    Missing parts:   640
Overall confirmation date could not be determined
But  where I can see the Percentage of Avaialble and percentage of to be produced.
    Please guide me.

  • Availability check at plant level

    dear all,
    my issue is
i maintain two storage location for raw material say 1 and 2. material is transported from 1 to 2 by 311 Mvt. as 2 is storage at shop floor.
production storage location maintain in MRP-2 view of this material master  is 2 .
our client require that while release of process order for its header material system should not give material shortage error .system should check availability of material in production storage location 2.
on not finding sufficiet quatity in 2 it should check for storage location 1, and on finding sufficient qty to fill the remaining requirement shuld not give error of missing part.
to check material availability at plant level i ticked the indicator-"No storage location Inspection" in OPJJ config. setting.
on this config. change also, while releasing the process order system automatically pick storage location 2(production storage location maintain in material master) on checking the mateial page assigned for this order and give missing part on check availability.
some of our raw material are active for batch management.
here also on releasing order of there header material system assign production storage location 2 to that raw material assigned to that order and searh batch only in storage location 2. and on not finding any stock in storage loc. 2 give message insufficient batch assignment and not check the stock in stor. loc. even it available in 1.
kindly explain ...what may be the reason,
even on checking availability at plant level its not considering all the storage location assigned to that materila for this plant.
    thanks and regards.

    Dear,
In MRP2 view you need to maintain the second storage location i;e production storage laoction from which you are taking batches for production. So it will get copied to the component details of order.
When you will do the batch determination at that time system will select the batches as per availibility.
So in your case you need to do the batch determination agian after the store persone transfer the material to the production storage loaction then system will take all batches available in the production storage location.
Stock determination enables you to implement various strategies to withdraw material for goods issues and stock transfers. You configure these strategies in Customizing. Based on the material requirements entered, the R/3 system determines how and when the material should be withdrawn, and from which storage locations and stocks.
Create sort sequence with ascending order
Then create batch search strategy in MBC1 or COB1 transaction
    Give the sort rule there
Give the no. of batch splits as much as you want or just keep 999
Then try doing the batch determination & check if you are getting what you want
If you don't use the Batch entry as 3 then COR6N you can determine batches here then it will get copied to order after confirmation.
Revert if you want further clarifications
    Hope clear to you.

  • Commited date for missing parts in the production order

when i generate a prodution order and there are some missing parts for that material. its showing the list of all the missing parts but the commited date is coming out as 12/31/9999.
I maintained the the planned delivery time for all those components.but still its giving me this date

    Dear Deepu,
Check in OPJJ for your checking group and checking rule combination what's the scope of check
defined --->under this you must have included the check box for Check availability without
replenishment lead time. It Indicates whether, during the availability check, the system checks the
    replenishment lead time.
    Use
Items for which the delivery date falls within the replenishment lead time, but for which there is no inventory, are confirmed for delivery after the replenishment lead time. In the case of items for which the delivery date falls after the end of the replenishment lead time, the system assumes that everything can be confirmed.
    Procedure
In the standard version, leave this field blank if you want the system to check the replenishment lead time.
    Dependencies
If you want the system to check the replenishment lead time, you should make sure that you have entered a value in at least one of the following three fields in the material master:
GR (goods receipt) processing time (Purchasing view)
Planned delivery time (MRP I view)
GR processing time (MRP II view)
Otherwise, the system confirms every requirement.
If that check box is included then system proposes the date as 31.12.9999.
Just remove the check box setting and check once again in CO01 for material availability check.
Even If the check box is not included and if the End lead time (replenishment lead time)of that raw
material  is before the order start date then you will not get any mssing part's list.
Suppose if the replenishment lead time is after the order start date means then you will get this raw
    material under mssing parts list.
Replenishment lead time = Planned delivery start time + GR processing time of that raw material (this
    starts from today).
Say let your finished product finish date be 30.03.2009 and order start date be 28.03.2009,and let the
planned delivery time be 15 days and GR processing time of the raw material be 5 days.
So in this case End lead time = 15+ 5 = 20 = 01.04.2009 starting from today ,so in this case you will
be getting this raw material under missing parts because its end lead time time is after the order start
date.Suppose if its  before order start date you will not get in missing parts.(Even if the check box is not
    included under RLT).
So check with this and revert back.

  • Missing Parts for all Orders

Is there a single report which gives missing parts list for all orders with due allocation of components as per the order dates?

    Dear,
Missing parts information we can see in CO24 tcode.
    In COHV or COMAC.
    in mass processing gtab page
select function = material availability check, execute it.
    In selection tab page
    Plant
    Order type
    System status - MSPT.
    Or,
COOIS : Production Order Information System
Under this transaction you need to Select in List option as Components and then go on Selection Tab

  • Material Availability Check in Process Order Issue

Guys, I need some help in understanding the folowing issue:
I have a FG and 2 components.I created a process order and tried to release the order. Automatic availability check is done and a dailog box appeared to list out the missing parts. Missing parts list shows both the components. But one of the componet has unrestricted stock to use in the storage location. why did the availabity check show missing part for that component?
I checked pp checking rule and it says for business rule 2 "no check" is unchecked. so that means checking is done. and this pp checking rule is assigned in OPJJ and also assigne dto the material master of the component.
please let me know if you need more information. Thx

Dear you are absolutely correct if you uncheck No check box in material availability in Order control OPJK  per plant and order type that no automatic material availability check is to be executed for the specified business transaction (order creation or order release).
But further please note that the option of calling up a material availibility check manually and also of executing a collective availability check is not affected by setting this indicator. This indicator is also ignored if you work with Assembly orders and you have defined in Customizing for Sales Orders that a material availability check is to be carried out.
    Cheers

  • Missing parts list variations

    Hi Guru's,
When we checked the missing part list in the "COOISPI "report (Process Order infromation system) for the planned order and compared this with the missing parts in the MD12 for the particular planned Order, there was a differnece in number of entires (components) betwwne both these lists. why is the missing part list for MD12 and COOISPI is showing the difference?
If anyone is familiar with this report please let me know what can be the reason for the difference. also can any explain the logic how this report does the availability check for the missing parts.
    Thanks,
    Nagesh.

    Dear Nagesh,
    1) For missing parts at plan order level check in MDVP ( Not in COOISPI )
    2) Compare MDVP with MD12
    3) AV check will carried out based on settings defined in OPJJ ( Combination of cheing group & checking rule )

  • IDOC for missing parts list

    Hi,
We would like to send the missing parts list generated from CO24 to other system. Is there any standard IDOC available to send missing parts?
    I would appreciate your help.
    Thanks.

    Karthik,
Thanks for your quick reply. But this is not what I am looking out for. I am sorry, I think my question was not clear.
There is one functionality in Production Planning area that we can find out the missing parts for the production order. We have to send the information to our warehouse asking for the missing parts to fulfill the production order. Our warehouse is not on SAP so we want to send the information through an ALE/IDOC. In order to do this I wanted to know that is there any standard IDOC type which can be used or we have to create a custom IDOC.
    Thanks.

  • How to address missing parts during material availability check

The system prompts that a particular component is missing during material availability check of a production order. Said component is available in the system upon verification in MMBE.
We noted that the goods receipt date of the material is way beyond the requirement date, hence the system still prompts that it is missing.
What we did to correct this is to change the basic start date of the production order thus changing the requirement date of the material.
The resolution unfortunately, brought another problem, another planned order was generated, which consequently generated another purchase requisition.
What is the proper way of addressing the missing parts prompt during material availability check?

    Hi
Not able to understand why you are using BAPI & function module.
It is a simple function of avaialbility check.
For this you have to fill the availability chk field in material amster of all components &  givecheckinh rule  inOPPQ .
After creation of process order, you can check COR2 it self.
    It is a std functionality.
    It should definitely work.

  • Availability check during production order creation - Missing parts details

    Hai Gurus,
I have one problem during Availability check when converting Planned order to production order.
    1) A- is the finished material, which has A1 to A7 components.
    2) A2 is the procured item with safety stock and it has safety stock also.
    3) When sale order is created , the material A2 is reserved against the planned order for finished material - A.
    4) so when availability is checked during planned order stage , system says no missing parts, when planned order
is converted to production order system says missing parts for component A2, which is stock and reserved against
         planned order
    5) Checking rule for Production order is maintained as follows,
         a) Include safety stock.
         b) Include reservation.
         c) Include sales requirement
         d) Include deliveries.
         e) Include dependent reservations.(x)
         f) Include production orders.(X)
         g) Check release for stock transport orders only.( A)
So now i don't know where I went wrong , so that the system could consider the safety stock of Component A2 which is in stock and already reserved against planned order and it does not show missing parts when planned order is checked.
Waiting for your positive feed back.
    Regards,
    Sekar chand

    Dear,
What checking rule you have maintained for planned order.???
As what i can understand by your question that you have maintained to check reservation only in production order not in planned order. Or one important thing mostly people configure to reserve material only after release or creation of production order. Are you reserving material at planned order stage.?
Check these things. you will automatically find the answer. Hope it will help you. Revert back for more clarification.

  • Missing Parts check one level....can you confirm

Simple scenario.  I have a 3 level BOM.
Top level Item Mat A (make to order 82) > Mat X (make to stock strategy 40) > Component 1 (purchased).
Stock: There is only stock for the Component 1
When I create an order for Mat A I get a missing part for Mat X.  However, the committed date is giving me the Total replenishment lead time of my Mat X and not considering just the lead time to make Mat X even though we have Component 1 in stock. So my problem is that the ATP check is not considering that we have Component 1 in stock and should just give me a committed date for the in production time of Mat X.
Now I do understand that SAP PP may only look at the Zero stock for my Mat X when I create an Order for Mat A (Top level) - if this is why then fine but I wanted to check I am not missing something.
Moreover, if you make Mat X a collective (52) then it will see the stock for the component and give a reduced commitment date but my client does not want a collective order as they want to group the Make to stock items.
Yes if there was a planned order for Mat X then it would consider it.
My point is that am I right that pure ATP missing part will only consider one level in my example ?
    any help buddies ?

    007,
I don't know if I would call it a weakness.  It is what it is.  Its like spending the money for a Hyundai, and expecting the features of a Mercedes.  Not gonna happen.
The client gets as much as he is willing to pay for.  If he wants a multilevel availability check, then he must pay for the additional software that will perform this task (APO or third party), or he should commission a consulting company to write a custom application that performs this task within ERP.
All such decisions boil down to the client's willingness to spend money and resources.  Its nothing to get frustrated about.  After all, he is the one that made the decision to buy SAP ERP, not you.  If he is unhappy, he can contact Walldorf.

  • Missing part check functionaliy at the time of GR when using IDOCS

    Hi All,
We are using IDOCs to record the the Good Receipt for the Purchase Orders.
Then a BAPI is called to post the GR.
There is a functionality for missing parts checks which can be activated at the time of GR which checks the ATP & sends mail to MRP controller.
When we directly use the MIGO, then missing part check is activated & a mail is sent to MRP controller.
If we use the IDOC to post the GR, the missing part check is not activated & mhence mail is not sent to MRP controller.
Pl let us know if there is a way by which we can activate the missing part check in GR using IDOCS.

    Hi,
The G/L accounts which you give in the PO will be Debited & your vendor A/c will be crdtd at the time of LIV.

  • What is missing part check in inventory

    Hi Experts,
I want to know what is missing part check in inventory ?
    Thanks !

    Hi Dipika,
A missing part is a stock of material that is already assigned to a goods issue at the time of goods receipt. This means that a current requirement could not be covered from existing stock(shortage or requirement undercoverage situation). As a rule, such a missing part bypasses the warehouse and ,upon receipt ,is forwarded directly to the point at which it is needed. However, this is only possible if the entered and the responsible materials planner are informed of such receipt.
You must make following settings in customizing for <b><i>Inventory management and physical inventory under Goods Receipt>Set Missing Parts Check</i></b>
1)<b>Activation of missing part check per plant</b>
    2)<b>Definition of a checking rule</b>
3)<b>Specification of the details for control of the availability check</b>:To use the missing part check, you must enter a checking horizon for the missing part check. The checking horizon indcates for how many days in the future the system checks whether shortfall quantities exist for the material.Within the checking horizon,an email is sent from inventory management informing the materials planner that there has been a goods receipt for a missing part.
4)<b>Assignment of checking rule:</b>At transaction level, the missing part check uses the same checking rules as the availability check. However, you have the option of maintaining different checking rules at movement type level. The checking rule of the movement type takes precedence over that of the transaction.Note that an entry for the movement type without an entry for the transaction has no effect.
5)<b>Specification of the mail receipient(Email user):</b>The system sends the missing part message to materials planner(MRP Controller) responsible for the material. In order for this to happen,a user ID must be assigned to the materials planner
6)<b>Specifications of missing part expediter</b>:If no user ID assigned to the responsible materials planner, the message is ent to the central missing part expediter responsible for the plant. This person is defined per plant.
