Blanket POs as a framework order and contracts

Hello,
In 6.0, could some tell me the difference between using a framework order (in ME21N ) and invoice planning  to create a blanket PO the same thing as using a contract...?

Framework order is also known as Blanket PO.....which we use for the procurement of Low value Material with Long term planning....It is used as Mini Contract....
For making Blanket PO....you have to choose Order type: FO in ME21N....with Item category "B"(Limit)
For creating Blanket PO... You need not have to maintain material master.....Maintaining Acc.assignment Category in PO is mandatory....also you have to maintain Validity Period in Blanket PO...
As per SAP Best Practice.....for Blanket PO, GR is not possible.....you can directly post multiple Invoices for One Blanket PO....The validity and total Value of these Invoices for Blanket PO during LIV can be controled by tollerance keys LA and LD.

  • What is Framework order and blanket PO

    dear gurus,
kindly focus on what is Framework order and blanket PO ?
    regards,
    snb

    Hi SNB,
Framework order (FO) is a document type which is provided by the standerd SAP.
It can be used for the consumable material ( Which is having low value & where making GR is not of worth like C category item.) & called as blanket PO. Here we need to mntion the validity period  & target value or quantity as a restriction as well as need to mention item category as a "b".
Also it can be used for the procurement of extarnal services (Item category "D" ). Here we need to do the entry of services which have been performed & need to accept the same whereas in blanket PO, GR is not required.
At the end i would tel u that Framework order is the document type which can be used as blanket Po  & procurement of services.
    Reward if useful.

  • Framework orders and item categories

In looking at framework orders it would seem there are 2 item categories that would be valuable for my client, B and D.  In reviewing the configuration, I see the following differences.
    Item cat. B
    Material Required - Not Allowed
    Addit.Acct Assignment - Mandatory
    Inventory Management - Not Allowed
GR indicator firm - Changeable in PO
Invoice Receipt - PO Item Linked
IR indicator - Firmed in PO
    Item cat. D
    Material Required - Not Allowed
    Addit.Acct Assignment - Mandatory
    Inventory Management - Possible
    GR - PO Item Linked
GR indicator firm - Changeable in PO
Invoice Receipt - PO Item Linked
IR indicator - Firmed in PO
What other differences are there between the two item categories?  I heard that one would default the quantity to 1 and removes the GR... Can anyone validate this?
Also, I noticed when using a framework order, the validity date is not being checked where the system is allowing invoicing to occur past the validity date.  Is there some place in configuration that we can have this tolerance checked?  Please give details.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
In case of Item Category B, there is not GR in this case. And in case of Item Category D, you have to create Service Entry Sheet (it is must), which creates a GR document in the background.
    Refer Following links for the above;

  • Purchase Order and Contract - controlling overall value

Our process has the following steps - The total amount in the order to the vendor is fixed. Indivdual services have rates fixed, but quantities are not fixed ie, the quantity can vary from 0 to any upper number subject to the overall value of the order. I tried the following:
Created a contract (ME31K) with the services and rates entered (quantity kept as 1). Overall value entered as the contract limit. PO created (ME21N) and Contract details and overall limits entered. Service items adopted from the contract and the 'No Limit' box checked for individual services. All service quantities maintained as 1 no, rates copied from contract.
With this my expectation was that the system will allow multuiple service entry sheets for each of the services upto the limit specified by the contract. However the system allowed Service Entry for value exceeding the overall limit of the contract.
What other configuration needs to be done to make sure that beyond the overall value limit, system does not allow service entry.
Thanks in advance for your help
    Deepak

    You say that
    1. you have created the contract with overall service limits.
    2. you now referred this contract and created the PO
PO created (ME21N) and Contract details and overall limits entered. Service items adopted from the contract and the 'No Limit' box checked for individual services. All service quantities maintained as 1 no, rates copied from contract.
Please remove the No limit check and keep only the value in contract limits. The system would then force you to enter the additional value in unplanned services during SES creation. The same applies when you are using Other Limits (Mentioned limit in other Limits tab in PO creation)
If it does not work, check message settings for message # SE 347, 364, 365 & 366.
If it still does not work, please open an OSS message to SAP.

  • Want to pass STRS2 field into sales order and contract.

    Hi Friends.
I am creating Sales order using function module IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS and Contract using SD_SALESDOCUMENT_CREATE.
Now I want to pass STRS2(House number field into Sales Order/Contract). In IDOC I tried to pass E1EDKA1-STRS2, but its not coming into Sales order output. But SD_SALESDOCUMENT_CREATE dont have an option to pass the field value.
So in that case how can I achieve the desired functionality, Is there any user exit or let me know the suitable method to achieve the functionality.
    Thanks
    Gowrishankar

Yes I tried that also.I passed the value from program to user exit MV45AFZZ and updated the structure XVBADR in USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE, but its not getting reflected in Sales Order/Contract.
Anyone have suggestion..plz let me know.

  • SRM purchase order and contract item overview

  • Puchase order and contract.

    Hi ´gurús,
I would like to know if it is possible to lock the field "Net price" of the purchase order when this document refers to a contract.
The user should not modify this price when the PO refers to a purchase order.
    Its possible trough customizing? Security?
Thanks in advance for the help
    Regards
    Enzo

    Hi,
This is not possible for PO's with reference to a particular document etc.
However, you can use "Field selection key : item category/document category" for individual document categories.
    A   for RFQs
    B   for purchase requisitions
    F   for purchase orders
    K   for contracts
    L   for scheduling agreements
Field selection key: purchasing document type
The field selection key that you have assigned to the document type for the purchasing document. For example, field selection key UBF is assigned to document type UB, which is used for stock transfer orders (within a company code). In this key, the fields Price and Price unit are suppressed.
You can try using BAdi/Enhancement in your case.

  • Buyer of shopping cart, purchase order and contract

    Hi
I wanted to ask about buyers. Are buyers usually a purchasing group/organisation? I am not sure if my thinking is right but wouldn't a buyer of a shopping cart and purchase order be the same. And a buyer of a contract would or can be different to the shopping cart because a contract is a source of supply and is probably linked to many purchasing groups/organizations.
Is this reasoning right? Buyers are different to approvers too isn't it? Please could someone explain this to me?
    Kind regards

    Hi Deepa,
Are buyers usually a purchasing group/organisation?
Ideally each buyer should ahve a unique purchasing group. In thsi case we can say that each buyer is a purchasing group. However, in some companies, its a possiblity of sharing a purchasing group. In that case multiple buyer users will be assigned to purchasing groups in the SRM organizational structure.
buyer of a shopping cart and purchase order be the same.
Normally, if a PO is created w.r.t. SC, the purchasing group is copied. So its the same. However we can change the purchasing groups in sourcing cockpit using workload reassignment option or direcly in the PO/contract document.
So we can say that its necessary to have PO/contract purchasing group same as that in SC.

  • SRM- Pucchase Order and Contract (backend) Tolerance failures

Using SRM 7 Extended classic scenario with ECC 6.0.  Tolerances have been set up in ECC and SRM.
The Contract is raised in the backend and replicated into SRM.
In SRM, both PPOMA and Vendor groups have been assigned the correct TOG.
Raising a Shopping Cart that exceeds the Contract Target value, but it within the Tolerance, works fine.  However, once the Shopping Cart is approved, the back end PO creation fails, leaving the SC status as Saved.  A review of SLG1 says that the PO exceeded the Contract value and displays errors for both Quantity and Target Value.
Any ideas on where to investigate appreciated.

    Hi Gerry
give more precise data about TOG you given in org structure
so you will get more suggestions from other people. it is power of SDN
created PO successfully in ECC via ECC request
no PO created successfully in ECC via SRM request
give more data on sc /pr /contract data ( quantity or value contract) for better understanding

I'm having similar problems btu with repsect to SRM PO's against Contracts raised in the backend (replicated into SRM)
Our infrastructure -s SRM 7 Extended Classis Scenario and ECC 6.
I have tolerances setup in ECC and SRM and the TOG has been assigned in SRM Vendor Groups and in the HR Org Structure (PPOMA).
Tolerance are 5% up to $100.00
If I raise a Contract in ECC, and a PO (MM) in ECC, then the PO will work if I stay within the allowed tolerances.
When I raise a PO in SRM, the Shopping Cart is processed OK, but when the SC is approved, the backend PO is not created.
In the Shopping cart in Related Documents for document Purchase Order, the Satus is set to Saved. A review of SLG1 indicates error due to exceeding the quantity and the Target value.
Why are tolerances not being taken into consideration? How do I get this to work?

  • A question about Droid pre-order and contract status

    Hi,
I preorded the droid from best buy the first day preorders were available. The person who handled my order didn't mention problems with my current contract status. My 2yr contract isn't up till 4/2010, and from reading here, it seems that best buy doesn't do the 1yr early upgrades.
So when I go down to best buy on friday to attempt to pick up my phone what are gonna be my options?
$599 retail price, or nothing? And so, will they refund my $50?
Would they do the 1yr and $369 price, if they consider I put in over one year on my current contract and consider it a $1yr? (I read someone say this would be an option)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Who does best buy sell phones to if they don't offer upgrades? Just new customers and people with expired accounts?
Can someone explain this post to me? http://www.howardforums.com/showpost.php?p=13177342&postcount=32
According to the guy that posted that, he was orginally denied, like has been said here. but then the looked it up and told him they'd honor the 1yr early upgrade.
To me, it just doesn't make much sense to not honor what verizon does.. cause you'd be losing lots of business. Anyone who is up for NE2, and denied honoring it by BB will just go to the verizon store, or order it online via verizons website. Anyone 1 year into their 2 year contract who is denied the 1yr early upgrade that verizon offers, and who doesn't care much about waiting for their $100-$50 NE2 discount will again be forced to buy elsewhere cause BB turns them away.
I'm not trying to make threats that BB needs to change. Just trying to draw attention to something that makes no sense to lots of customers. And would like someone to actually look into this again, since it seems to vary from store to store, clerk to clerk.

  • Worklfow driven Approvals for Inquiry/Quoatation, Sales Order and Contract,

    Hello,
What scenarios/ processes within SAP SD are supported by standard SAP for auto workflow driven approval.
We need workflow driven approvals for-
    Customr Inquiry/ Quotation,
    Sales Order,
    Contract
    and Credit Approval.
Can we do these workflow scenarious in SAP?  Are they supported by std SAP.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I would suggest you to check the standard template in SAP workflow also.
To check the standard template, goto transaction SWDD, and search by using structure seach, you will find the standard templatea under sales and distribution area.
Regarding to your requiements , you need to create the new object by extend from the standard object BUS2032 by using transaction SWO1.

  • COPA and service orders and contracts

We have service order billings using orders created by customer service.  When the service order is billed, the order numberAUFNR) is included on the billing document and thus GL entry.  These do not post to CO-PA until the service order is settled.  Some of the characteristic data is lost in this posting.  How can I make these go to CO-PA as the actual postings and the service order as statistical.

    Vinay,
I dont think you need any Middleware adaptor objects for CRM Request download .
You need to create a request in CRM using R3AR2 . Here you need to provide the R/3 table name and field name to download the service document along with Document ID
You can monitor your request download in txn R3AR4.
But as MCG rightly told , you should have done all requried customized settigns before downloading service documents .

    Hello Pranesh,
the problem with large number of items in SD documents is well known, but I don't think there is an ultimate solution for it.
General advise - avoid having so many items in your sales documents.
As a rule of thumb for the processing of an SD document you should count around 500 ms for the header and 100 ms for each item.
If you process contracts with 1000 items, the response time of over 1 minute during opening or saving is more or less normal. Do not expect wonders from the system.

  • Purchase order against contract

    Hi,
I created a PO referring a contract. For this PO document type, the start validity date and validity end fields ( which appears in additional data tab in PO header for framework orders) are made active and made mandatory.
I was allowed to enter a validity date in PO header which is prior to contract validity start date. (eg: Contract starts from 1.1.2011 , but PO validity start date is pot as 25.12.2010.).  This is functionally wrong.
Isnu2019t there any standard validation to check PO validity start date beyond contract validity start date ?
In the concept of Framework order , whether contract is  not referred to create FO?  If yes, then system is not expected to validate the fields (start validity date and validity end fields) which are exclusively maintained for preparing only FOs with contract validity.
    Please advise.
    Regards
    N Banu

    Hi,
The system does not check with the validity periods entered in your FO document
But it checkes with your PO document date and contract validity date if you want to control start and end date based on contract
You can set message M6-040 and M6-041 as error message in attribute of system messages
    Thanks
