STOP 0x101: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT Troubleshooting
Here's a good thread on http://www.sysnative.com/forums/showthread.php/1248-0x101-quote-A-clock-interrupt-was-not-received-on-a-secondary-processor-quote
What you're looking for will be in one of the following categories:
a) BIOS bug
b) a driver whose activity is causing the target processor to lock up
c) a hardware defect (temperature, voltage, dust, RFI, outright borkedness...) ?I wonder about CPU defect also)
So, check the drivers http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.php
Then check the inside of the case (temperature, voltage, dust, etc).
Then run hardware stress tests
Try this free video stress test: http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/
    FurMark Setup:
    - If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
    - In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature"
Click "Go" to start the test
    - Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
    - Click "Quit" to exit
Try this free stress test: Free Software - http://download.cnet.com/Prime95-32-bit/3000-2053_4-192895.html
    Prime95 Setup:
    - extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
    - double click on the executable file
    - select "Just stress testing"
    - select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight you may want to run the "Small FFTs" test instead.
    - "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.
More Video Stress Tests:
    1. Thanks to Vir Gnarus (http://www.sysnative.com/forums/members/vir-gnarus.html) for finding this video memory test: https://simtk.org/home/memtest
Alternate download link (w/o registration) located here: http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadUtils
    2. Two other video stress tests (may be more stressful than FurMark):
NOTE: I have had reports that some ISP's will block this website
Video Memory stress Test - http://nvworld.ru/utilities/vmt/
        Artifact Locator - http://nvworld.ru/utilities/alocator/
Sorry, but I don't read the language that this website is made in.
    3. Another interesting test that came to my attention: http://www.ocbase.com/perestroika_en/index.php?Download
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK - the program doesn't have a whole bunch of safety features to protect you from yourself!
    Quote:
    CPU Stress Tests:
Only need to run 1 or 2 of the tests under most circumstances. I haven't used any of the tests myself, so I listed all that I was able to find.

Then try replacing parts.
Then look up the versions of your BIOS to see what changes were done.
Recently it was found (here: BSOD Stop 0x00000101 and Stop 0x0000009c ) that a wipe and reinstall of Windows fixed a STOP 0x101 problem. I'd have to recommend at least running SFC.EXE /SCANNOW on any PC that has this problem (simply because it's too easy easy
to do and it may fix things).

  • Windows Blue Screen Error Message Appears As Soon As IPod Connected

Everytime I connect my IPod to my computer, I get the Windows Blue Screen error message. Thought it was the cable, so plugged cable in by itself. No problem. Uninstalled IPod and ITunes software and then plugged in IPod, still got the Blue Screen. The Blue Screen says something about "recent plugged in device problem". It is not the cable, it must be the IPod. Did not have this problem when I bought it. Tried it on labtop and get the same error message. I can't do updater or anything that requires me to plug the IPod into a computer because the Blue Screen appears immediately. When I unplug, the Blue Screen remains and locks up the computer so I have to restart each time. I have tried everything I can think of. Please help.

Hi Mike thank you for replying,
I am not able to start the computer in safe mode, safe mode with networking, last good known configuration etc, Each time it quickly blue screens and restarts about two secs into the process.
I was unable to try a clean OS install from the disk as it gave the blue screen error shown in the original post. The same thing happened when I tried to use the repair option on the XP home disc. So i can't get into the computer at all to start diagnosing the fault, the only clue I have is the error message, and after searching the internet I haven't found much enlightenment from that yet.
If you can help me out or suggest where to search it would be much appreciated.

  • Itunes blue screen error

I recently installed itunes from the disk that came with the ipod nano.
The problem I'm having is that when you open itunes with or without the ipod connected it crashed the computer. I rang apple and they said its a windows problem although they did suggest I download version 6 from their web site which I did and the problem still exists. I rang microsoft support and they said it was an apple problem
The problem doesn't happen all the time, around say 80% the computer shots down with a blue screen error message saying " A problem has been detected and windows
has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    PageFault_In_NonpagedArea
    The technical information is:
    STOP 0x00000050 (0xBB9EA29E,0x00000000,0x805-DA81,0x00000002) Then it
goes onto say beginning to dump physical memory, dumping physical memory to disk.
    Can anyone help.

    Hello,
I followed this recommendation for one of the other discussions to at least get the blue screens to stop for a while. So far so good. Try this to see if it helps. Make sure you sequence exactly or else blue screens will appear again. Good luck!

I spent hours last night and today, when something simple actually worked!
If you've uninstalled/reinstalled recently, don't bother. The problem is probably the nano, NOT the computer.
Reset your nano. Move the hold switch until you see orange, then back again, lay it on the table and press the center of the wheel and menu at the same time and hold until you see the apple (6 to 10 seconds).
Then plug your cable into your computer's usb first, then connect the ipod to it. Wait. Hope it works for you

  • Blue screen error message on Satellite Pro A10

    Hi,
I'm trying to help my inlaws with their Satellite Pro SPA10. I had set this up for them a few months ago and it was running really well.
Now it restarts about two seconds past the "use last good configuration" etc. screen, gets to this screen again then restarts immediately ad infinitum, never pausing on the error mesage for long enough to see what it says.
I managed to get it to boot from the windows XP home disc and got as far as the repair or continue with installation screen. When I asked the computer to do either it crashes to blue screen almost immediately. The error message is
    *** STOP: 0x000000c5 (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x8082B98B)

  • I am trying to connect my iPad to my windows pc ( xp) but it does not recognise the iPad and I get a blue screen error causing the pc to shut down. Any ideas

I am still not able to connect my iPad 2 to my Pc ( windows xp). When I try to do so I get a blue screen error and the computer shuts down. I have reinstalled iTunes. iPod works fine. Any ideas?

    Not sure, but try these.
Disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the Sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut Off. To power up hold the Sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time (for about 10-15 seconds) until the Apple logo appears (ignore the red slider), then let go of the buttons.

  • Satellite A300D-1EI - blue screen error - display drivers had failed

I 've bought my laptop a month ago.
Everything is working great except two "blue screen" errors caused by the graphics card.
Both were when the laptop was connected with TV through S-video port.
First was when the laptop display turned off after 15 minutes while watching a movie, on resume said that display drivers had failed and then I got the blue screen. Then I updated the display drivers from ATI's website and set the laptop display not to turn off.
All were ok with no problems, until last night when I got another message that display drivers had failed followed by a blue screen.
I am wondering if this is a driver's problem or is something wrong with my graphics card.
    System Info:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T8400 @ 2.26 GHz
    Memory (RAM): 3.00 GB
System Type: 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium
Display Adapter: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470

So long you use ATI driver from ATI support page there is no possibility to say anything about it.
This driver is not tested and Toshiba cannot offer any help about it.
So what you can do is to install OS again using recovery media and see what will happen in the future. Please test it intensively with clean preinstalled operating system. Don't install anything that can have some negative influence to this game or additional applications, codecs or something similar.
Test it please and let us know if the problem persists.
When you want to watch movies on TV at first switch to the TV and then start DVD player.

  • Lenovo N 500 Blue Screen Error

I just purchased this laptop in February and shortly thereafter I started to get the blue screen error message.  It only happens after the screen tries to wake up from hibernation.  I have not been able to turn hibernation off.
The system has Windows Vista Home Basic; Version 6.0; Build 6001P1
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I just don't know what to do and when I tried using the lenovo care, it said that the update service would not be available until May.  This is already the middle of May.

  • BLUE SCREEN ERROR!!! - Stop: 0x00000124 (0x00000003 0x00000000 0x000000000 0x00000000)

    hi,
When i restart my Windows 2008 R2 server, suddenly a blue screen appeared. In the screen the message was like,
System malfunction call your hardware vendor for support. After getting this message i gave a force restart but while booting
i got another blue screen error in which i got the below error code
Stop: 0x00000124 (0x00000003,0x00000000,0x000000000,0x00000000) and after dumping physical memory(100%) the system is keep on restarting as it happened before with blue screen.
In the server machine LCD display i am getting another error message like,
    E1716 Chipset IERR. Bus 0 Dev 20. Function 2 . Review &. clear SEL.
Can anyone help me to understand the actual problem and how come i can resolve this?...

This from the Dell web site.
The system BIOS has reported a chipset internal error that resides in bus ##, device ##, function ##.
Check the SEL for more information, and then clear the SEL. Remove AC power to the system for 10 seconds, and restart the system (SEL = System Event Logs)
So I probably contact the hardware vendor.

  • Blue screen error on resume, Sandisk U3 suspected

Hi all, I have a T61 running WinXP. I've noticed that whenever the machine goes into hibernation with my flash drive inserted it crashes with a blue screen error on resumption. The drive i a sandisk cruzer with u3. Wondering if anyone has experience with this or knows of a solution - uninstalling u3 is not ideal.
[updated 2008-11-04] I've done some quick tests to try to isolate what's causing the problem. I tried another flash drive (with u3) and the same problem occurred. However when I disable the u3 launcher the problem does not occur.
    Thanks!

    Hi
Did you get this BSOD only once as yet?
Maybe its just a driver issue so check the device manager for any problems.
Normally BSODs are related to RAM or HDD. You can test both components using a special test tools like Memtest86 and Drive Fitness Test. You can use Google to find both freeware programs.

  • Blue Screen error using Boot Camp when installing XP on the MacBook Pro

I have been trying to install Windows XP Professional (with SP2) on my MacBook and I keep encountering blue screen errors during the install. I successfully create the Windows partition with Boot Camp (v2.0) and then Windows install begins. However, during the setup process it hangs and then eventually throws an error showing a blue screen. There has been a different error each time I've tried to install. I've booted in OSX and then deleted the Windows partition through Boot Camp and then attempted the process from the beginning five separate times and each time I get an error during the initial install phase.
Its not a matter of the installation CD because i borrowed 3 differnt copies from some friends and i still have the same issues.
Once, I managed to actually start windows XP however it was full of errors probably as parts of it weren't properly installed due to the the blue screens that made me reboot several times.
Am I the only one having this problem??
Is this a matter of the hardware? Can you think of any possible solution?
(I used NTFS did everything propperly I'm 100% sure)(I tried FAT as well)(still nothing)
    PLEASE HELP

Can you read and write from your optical drive? I would have it checked by burning something to it and seeing if it can be read.
I have noted a link, with some information that may be helpful, for you to check out.

I would repair permissions before your next attempt too.
If this fails, I would contact Apple.

  • Blue Screen Error on Satellite A100-920 (PSAA9)

    Hi
I had a blue screen error during normal use and after restart, Windows suggested updating the BIOS, so I updated it with the latest version (5.10). The next day, I got another blue screen and on restart, Windows suggested I update my display drivers, which I did (to ver. 8.241)... I have an ATI Radeon X1400 GPU. After doing that, the computer crashed every time it loaded windows, with a popup about services.exe telling me the computer would turn off in 60 seconds.
I assumed this was related to the display driver, so I replaced the drivers with an earlier-dated version (8.241-034065C). After I did this, it seemed to work and I could use the computer fine for a bit, even play games such as GTA but i am starting to get the blue screens again, usually just when opening folders, etc and not when running graphics-heavy applications. The problem definitely goes away when I disable my display drivers, but that's not much of a solution.
I turned off the reboot on error setting and this is the information from the blue screen of death:
    *** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005,0xEE6DF5E9,0xBAD2F99C,0x00000000)
    *** system32:huy32.sys - Address EE6DF5E9 base at EE6DD000, Datestamp 45abe717
Does anyone have any idea how I can sort this problem, it's driving me crazy!
I have downloaded the Omega drivers for the card, but am slow to install them as I hear they can cause overheating and I think ATI/Toshiba should be able to provide me with a solution without me having to use third party drivers.

I have Network Associates (McAfee) v. Enterprise 8. I ran a full virus scan with this and windows defender and a worm stinger utility and another microsoft app whose name I forget... all came up clean.
I tried the omega drivers out of frustration and they cause services.exe to terminate.
Could it possibly be a BIOS issue? I'm not sure how likely it is, since the computer definitely works with the display adapter enabled and will usually crash (BSOD) after anything from a few mins to a few hours with it enabled. I seem to be getting two types of reply from microsoft on restart, one saying there is a general driver fault and one saying there is a display driver fault and suggesting updating the display drivers.

  • Dv6 Notebook "Black Screen" following "Windows Blue Screen" error message. Caps Lock blinking!

I have a HP DV6 notebook. I left my computer on overnight and the next morning I woke up to find a Windows Blue Screen error message. It said to restart my computer. I was in a rush so I just closed the lid. When I returned I opened the lid and the screen was black. I pressed the power button to restart it and I haven't been able to restart it since. I now have a power light, a black screen and the CAPS LOCK light is blinking twice then a pause! Please help!

    Hi btgclark,
I understand that you are having an issue with turning on your notebook and the CAPS LOCK light blinks twice and then pauses. The following document 'Computer Does Not Start and the LEDs Blink or the Computer Beeps' will walk you through the steps that you need to follow. For your error code, it means that the BIOS has a corruption failure. This document will walk you through the necessary steps to get this resolved.
If for some reason this document does not resolve the issue please provide me with the model number to your notebook. I have included a document 'How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?'
Please let me know how this works out for you, thank you.
