BO Report Mobile - date filter

Hello!
I have a report in BO Mobile developed with web intelligence tool with two fields of sales values, one daily and one monthly. I'm having the following problem: when I select a specific date to the monthly values are equal to the daily values.
Could someone help me.
It is possible to apply the date filter, make the monthly accumulated values remain?
Sincerely.
Gleziane

Hi
At Universe level you can create two measure values like daily sales and MTD monthly sales =@
suppose say yu run the query on date 19-5-2014
for First measure daily sales where date =@prompt value (i.e date prompt)
for 2nd measure Monthly sales where date<=@prompt value AND Month=month(@prompt )
the above is for MTD
Hope this helps u
Thanks & Regards

  • Interactive Report with Date Filter

    Hi out there,
I created an interactive report which contains a date column. The default filter-options just work fine. But my users need to filter with the data which is contained in the report e.g. if a row contains 21.06.2000 they want to see this value in the filter-list of this date column and not the predefined defaults (last five years, last day and so on).
I already tried to specify the date as a string and did a select ... to_char ( date_column, 'dd.mm.yyyy' ) which broke the sorting but gave me the filter-options my users wanted. Specifing the date as yyyy.mm.dd is not an option for my users.
Is it possible to get a filter which shows the "real" data and keeps the right sort order ?
    Regards and thanks
    Markus

    Markus,
I've come up against this too. A varchar column gives you the selection list but no filtering using <,>,between etc., but a date column doesn't show the discrete data values. Users tend to ask for both, and putting both date and varchar columns in the report or using an LOV isn't very elegant.
Is there anything significant about the dates the users want to search directly on? Judging from your 21.06.2000 example I'd guess not, but if so you can build your own column in the SELECT statement and use that for filtering/creating default reports.
    regards,
    Malcolm.

  • Few values of report column do not display in report while applying filter

    Post Author: anuragg11
    CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
There are 6 drill filters applied on the report to filter out the report column data. Few values of the report are not displaying in the report when using drill filter. Same issue is with report filter too. If filters are removed then values are appearing in the report. We are using version BO XI R2 & Java runtime JRE 1.4v. It doesn't look issue is with Java version because only few specific data of the report column are not shown in the report when using filter on the data. Example: One of Report data column contains below values: 24.2, 26.9, 120.1, 230, 274.9, 275.8, 333.2 Report is displaying all these values when there is no filter on any data. But report doesn't display data when applying filter on 274.9 or 120.1 howver filter on other values 24.2, 26.9, 230, 275.8, 333.2 are working fine.

    Hello,
I think i know what your problem is.
Although in table view your 2 requests combine perfectly and show separate results in pivot view BI unfortunaterly adds them up.
One work around would be to go in your criteria add in each request a dummy column. This can be obtained the following way:
    1. click on a column to add it in the criteria (it doesnt matter which one)
    2. go into the edit formula of that column
    3. delete the formula and in its place write 'Dummy Column 1'
Do the same for the second request by adding a "Dummy Column 2'
Now the Pivot Table should also show up correctly
Let me know if it goes well or if you have any further questions,

  • SP2013 - Date Filter Web Part looses connection when used in a site template

    Hi,
I created two table reports in SQL Reporting Services 2012 and inserted in a web page using the Reporting Service Report viewer in SharePoint 2013 with CU Dez 2013. The two reports require two dates and I use two date filter web parts (I did not try the
date range solution I saw in the fórum).
So the user inputs the two dates in date filters that send the information to thereports in the same page.
They work in the site and I saved it as template. However when I create e new site using it as a templates, the date filter connections are broken and of course, they did not work.
For another report where I usea text filter, it worked without any problem in the template.
    Does anybody know any workaround?
    Thank you.
Best regards, Ricardo Segawa - Segawas Projetos / Microsoft Partner

    Hi ,
The new site based on the saved site template will generate new ID for date filter web part, in the web part page the SPWebPartConnection "ProviderID" value seems still to reference the original date filter web part ID (see from
SharePoint Designer), as a workaround we can re-configure the web part connection from the web part page manually or programmatically from that new site web part page.

    Hi,
Based on my test, Data filter does not lost when we re-open the file in Excel 2013. Thus, I think it is not a bug. Thus, please provide us more information to assist you better.
Did this issue occur with the previous file that created with Office 2010?
Have you tried to re-create a new file to test?
If this issue occur only with the previous file that created with Office 2010, this issue might be caused by the file compatibility, pleases use compatibility checker to update the files:

  • Interactive report and default-filter

    ahoj!
i have a question regarding interactive reports and default-filter for a date: is it possible to use the current date for the default-filter? apex need 'dd.MM.yyyy' for the filter... already tried to_date(sysdate, 'dd.MM.yyyy')

    Hi,
I've just been trying the "in the last" option and had no problems for any number that I entered. Are you just entering 1 into the box? What error do you get?
I've loaded the page with Debug switched on, and get:

    where ("ATD_DATE" between systimestamp - (1 * :APXWS_EXPR_1) and systimestamp)
) r where rownum <= to_number(:APXWS_MAX_ROW_CNT):APXWS_EXPR_1 would contain the value 1 as that is what I've entered for the filter. My report's sql statement is just the innermost nested select statement, the rest has been added by the IR functionality and the filter.

  • Date filter is coming in physical query

    Hi,
I have following problem, please help me.
1.My OBI in connecting Vertica Database through ODBC 3.5.
2.It's working fine for all report and if I give date filter condition then in physical query ,which is sending by OBI to Vertica doesn't have date filter condition:
Ex: I have Call Type, and Date as dimension table and Call Mesures as fact table
when I am selecting in answer select Call type name,measure1 for a particula Call type='Dropped'
Physical Query generated by OBI as
    Select Call type name,mesure 1 from call_type_dim a,call_measures b where a.call_type_key=b.call_type_key and call_type_name='Dropped'
But when I am loking for particular calandar date(for 07/27/2009:
    it's generating following query:
    Select Call type name,mesure 1 from call_type_dim a,call_measures b,date c where a.call_type_key=b.call_type_key and call_type_name='Dropped' and c.calandar_date_key=b.calandar_date_key
But in logical query it's showing calandar_date='07/27/2009'
I am expecting OBI should generate query:
    Select Call type name,mesure 1 from call_type_dim a,call_measures b,date c where a.call_type_key=b.call_type_key and call_type_name='Dropped' and c.calandar_date_key=b.calandar_date_key and c.calandar_date='07/27/2009'
Where I have done wrong ,please help for Oracle DB i.e OCI 10g ,it's generating correct physical query

    Check cache settings.
    prefix this in prompt

Try SSRS Ad Hoc Web Reporting. It is super easy to use and even a ten year old kid can create SSRS reports with it. You can also use it to create and modify SSRS reports from your mobile devices such as IPad, IPhone, Android Phone or Surface.
See this youtube on how easy SSRS reports can be creates.

  • Date filter in preview

    Hi there,
Can anyone help me to see the error of my ways with date filters when using Preview and Designer to create reports.
If I create a Excel 2013 workbook with date filter on Power View they appear as they do in Excel and the current version of Power BI (O365 Add on)... see first Pic below.
If I use the Power BI Designer, or create a Report in the Preview the only filter 'structure' applied to dates is the checkbox structure for each date, and it's not functional either as the list of dates only shows approximately 30 instead of each day for
the last 5 years (which is the content of the data)...  see second pic below
I was expecting any date filters to show as per the first Pic in all cases.
    Is this just a bug??
Expected to see (uploaded Excel 2013 Workbook):-
but we see this (using the same model from the uploaded workbook):
The Power Query has the column 'added' defined as a date.
    Thanks,
    Tim
Thank you for you time folks!

Hi Bruno, thanks for the reply to the post.
The issue here is the way in which the UI works with this amount of data.  So there are 1600 dates I'm the model and the UI only shows a small list of the dates.  And you can't change the filter 'type' to allow rhea selection for a range of dates
like you can in the Excel 2013 Power View.  This is odd because when you upload the Excel created Power View the functionality exists in the Power BI UI.
The issue is when using a date as a filter you can't appear to select the type of filter to allow the entry of a date range.  This just appears odd, or a bug?? i'm going to use the good old date dimension table to allow the selection but most end users
of Power BI won't have rhe knowledge or the skills to build star or snow flakes... therefore this seriously restricts functionality in my view...
    Hope MS resolves soon...
    Thanks again.  tim

  • Group data by week of data filter in ssrs

    Hii all
I am creating matrix report  where report has date parameters like @From_Date and @To_Date
and more, i want to provide a filter like selection : where user will select Weekly, Mothly or Daily
I would do it with grouping based expreession on primary group of report ,
when user select daily , i just group on my date field when user select yearly i have  puted a expression to format a date to year but i dont know how to do it for weeks
    well i want like Week1 , Week2 , week3 and Week 4 or (Week 5 if) week wise data
    Help would be appreciated !
    Dilip Patil..

    Hi Dilip Patil,
According to your description, you want to group the data based on the parameter selection. Right?
In this scenario, it seems you only have a date column. We can use datepart() function to get the Year, Month, Week, Day from the date column. Then use the Switch() function in Group Expression to have the records group on the parameter selection. Please refer
    to the Group Expression below:
    =Switch(Parameter!param="day",DatePart(DateInterval.Day,Fields!DateCol.Value),
    Parameter!param="week",DatePart(DateInterval.WeekOfYear,Fields!DateCol.Value),
    Parameter!param="month",DatePart(DateInterval.Month,Fields!DateCol.Value),
    Parameter!param="year",DatePart(DateInterval.Year,Fields!DateCol.Value))
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Data Filter issue with

    Hi,
We have created a document from an Essbase ASO cube.
A data filter have been created in Essbase ASO Cube. The data filter is 'all Europe Region'. When this data filter is applied to the user and user logs in WA and accesses the document, the below error is produced.
    ========================================================
    Loading this document produced errors.
Unknown members or dimensions have been removed from the document in an attempt to fix the problem.
Saving this document now will prevent these errors when the document is loaded again.

    ==============================================
With no data filter assigned to the user, the report is fine...
Tested the same data filter in Excel-addin and there are no issues/error. Is there any setting that needs to be changed in WebAnalysis?

Following up even thought his is an old issue. Out of the blue my users began complaining their security in Web Analysis had gone awry. Their security in Excel add-in was fine though.
Most users use a WA Shared Preferences File here. However one user, unbeknownst to me, was able to hard code their userID/password in the "database" connection for the Shared Preference. So anytime another user logged in to Web Analysis, if you open the View Pane to see all the details, the Database user was John Doe - which was wrong, but the WebAnalysis user was John Smith - which was correct. The John Doe user like I said somehow managed to "save" his userID/pwd as the default, which caused all other users to "pass through" to Essbase as John Doe instead of as themselves, which means they were getting HIS filter not their own.
I wasn't able to figure out how he did that but to fix it I deleted his profile then Edited the Shared Preferences File | Databases tab | highlight database in question and choose Edit | change "Default logon" back to "Use User's ID and Password" instead of "Enter User ID and Password...John Doe|Pwd".
It works fine now. Users get their same, correct security filters applied whether they go in to Web Analysis or Excel add-in. (In Web Analysis we have it set up to open a report at a certain location depending on their security filters, so this was causing us quite a headache until we figured out what the problem was).
I opened a case with Tech Support to try and shed light on how the user was able to hard-code their login credentials in to the Shared Preference. Everyone only has Read access to that file, so. ?

    Karen S.

  • Date Filter Error

    Hi,
I create a report (columnar) with date filter, but when i try use the filter this error ocurrs:

The DO is vinculated a External Data Source, and the field used is datetime type.
    I use BAM 10.1.3.3.0.
    Please, help-me.

    Hi,
It is difficult to say from error message whether the problem is due to filter or some other condition in the report. If you suspect it is filter, can you please create a simple Updating Ordered List on the dataobject you are using to see if works and when you find it working, add the exact filter on it and then we would know if filter has issues?

  • Create a date filter..

I'm trying to create a report with two filters: Year and Date to...
    So the user can select
    Year: 2008
    Date to: 2008-08-01
And in the report must be filter by date between first day of the year filter and Date to...
So I will add a filter view and for 2008 and 2008-08-01 I expect to see:
    date between 2008-01-01 and 2008-08-01
I been playing with presentation variables and with SQL Expression filters putting thinks like this: timestamp CONCAT('@{Year}','-01-01 00:00:00') but does't work...
    Any Idea?
    Thanks...

    Try this
cast('01-jan-' || cast(@{Year}{2010} as varchar(4)) as date)If in Database features in phisical layer in repository the CAST_SUPPORTED is checked then it sends the cast job to the database
and the default converion of string into date in Oracle is '01-jan-2000' string format...
If CAST_SUPPORTED is not checked then it uses the format from NQSConfig.ini
    DATE_TIME_DISPLAY_FORMAT = "yyyy/mm/dd hh:mi:ss" ;
    DATE_DISPLAY_FORMAT = "yyyy/mm/dd" ;
    TIME_DISPLAY_FORMAT = "hh:mi:ss" ;Regards

  • Historical Reporting of data under multiple hierarchy changes

We currently use Hyperion Planning and we change our entity hierarchy often. It is my understanding that in order to report on what the hierarchy "used" to look like versus the current hierarchy requires alternate hierarchies that represent those different points in time. Today we just report all data based on the new hierarchy. However, we are looking at some additional requirements where this could become an issue. Due to the likely significant changes in the hierarchy, we would not want to maintain different hierarchies for all of these changes.
My question is first, is this a correct understanding for Hyperion Planning?
I did see a power point someone posted online that did show that HFM was able to handle this type of requirement, is that correct? Are we able to add an attribute or rule that combines some type of date tag to when the child was under parent A versus when they rolled under parent B. I have looked through the HFM admin guide and users guide online, but didn't see anything that addressed this specific issue. I watched a few tutorials online as well and didn't see anything that seemed to answer my question.
    Thanks.

    Hi user10086086,
It is true that in order to maintain historical rollups in Hyperion Planning you have to maintain historical heirarchies or become cleaver at storing historical heirarchies for purposes of reproting back to past methods of reporting.
HFM does have the capability to store alternate entity hierarchies from one period to the next - when Organization by Period is enabled within HFM...
The most common entity restructuring is as follows (This is not to say the only type - there are many other types):
Using the Manage Ownersip module within HFM
    • An entity is set to be inactive under it's first parent, the balances are frozen for that period (under the first parent), the entity is “recreated” with same name (under a new parent) and “new” balances will be loaded under the new parent for the next and all subsequent periods
By using the same entity with the OrgByPeriod feature within HFM and setting dates for its association with a particular parent with the 'Manage Ownership module' it becomes possible to have alternate entity heirarchies for different periods.
In order to advise on the most appropriate approach it would be necessary to confirm some key points on the requirement; such as, consolidation and translation methods used. Are the rules written to effectively handle opening, closing, movements in an OrgbyPeriod structure? Are there specialized rules/calcs in place that would affect the use of the OrgbyPeriod option? ..etc.
To get an overview of the feature please checkout Oracle Hyperion Financial Management - Administrator's Guide at:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hfm_admin.pdf
The following is and excerpt from the guide:
    Chapter 4 Managing Metadata
Organization by Period - page 86
The organization by period functionality enables the most recent consolidation structure to coexist with past structures in the same application.
Organizational structures can change for many reasons, including acquisitions, disposals, mergers, and reorganizations. To support organizational changes, Financial Management uses a system account, Active, to reflect the active or inactive consolidation status of a child into its parent. The Active account acts as a filter of the entity hierarchy. The Active account is an intercompany account that stores data at the parent level and uses the ICP dimension to store information about children.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions regarding this post
