Hi Experts,
Budget Error Detail
a) System should allow release of Partial budget ie less than planned cost.
b) System gives error while converting PR into PO ( Non-modvatable tax codes) ie system is considering Gross Amount ( ie commitment + taxes)
while converting PR intoPO , which exceeds the budget and gives error.whereas in PR , only commitment value is considered wrt budget and hence no error.
ie some Tax Codes are : CA, CB, EB, ED ET, EU,VV etc.
Requirement :- System should not give error while converting PR into PO.
plan budget committment
1000 1000 1000
while converting pr into po system gives an error i.e network act exceeded budget....

Hi, I have lots of written information about Position Budgeting and Control, one of them a nice white paper mhich may give you an understanding of the principles. We evaluated it at a customer and decided "only" to implement PCP. As I understood PBC uses PCP as a motor for collecting plan data, but you will not be able to do detail planning f.ex, as in Personnel cost planning. So as I understood it is amongst others a way of collecting HR financial data from a data basis and integrate it with Financial, a bridge between HR and FI. The commitment processor is the engine for this integration, if I've understood it correct. I can't say that I fully understood the principles either, but if you like I may provide you with some documentation. Do not know how to reach you, though. I also have a comment from a PBC-expert, maybe this will enlighten you (FYI: this is taken out of a context):
"...PBC is not intended to do detailed budgeting. PBC main feature is the possibility to create commitments / encumbrances and reserve this budget based on salary expenses. Customers usually spend a big part of their budget in salaries, so this tool offers them the chance to monitor and control this effectively by reserving the budget they will need for a certain period of time (usually the fiscal year) and being able to monitor if there are budget deficiencies in case of salary adjustments or new hires. PBC only uses the budget from FM to post agains it, but in no way pretends to offer a tool to manipulate this budget, plan or make decisions against the whole budget..."

Budget in Training and Events

Hello,
I'm trying to configure the budget in training module.
I will not have integration with Billing and Materials Management so I only want to create a Budget and have always the budget comparison, this means to compare the budgets created for each organizational units with the training and education costs incurred in Training and Event Management up to a certain key date.
I don't know where should I create the costs in the event.
Could anyone help me?

Can cash advance check against internal order budget?

I thought only cost elements can check against budget or statistical asset elements. But for AP balance sheet (cash advance via special GL), is that even possible?

No Padmaja, Down payments made can be checked against budget using PS module
you specify a cost element in IMG to be used in the case of down payments and this is used to update PS module

Budgeting in Training

Hi,
We have a requirement for budgeting.What we found out that we can create budget unit and sub unit and assign it to one or more org units.But when we are going in for comparison then we have to mention the org unit for which we want to compare the data.
But we will have Business event group,Business event type and business event. Which among then needs to be attached to the org unit?
Should this attachment has to be done in the relationship in OM?
We can maintain price for business event as well as assign cost elements to them.Does the budget comparison happens based on the price and cost elements?
Is there any other settings required for this purpose?
If some documetation is available then can someone share it with me, it will be really helpful?

Training Plan & Budgeting

Hello,
Can anyone please tell me how can we configure training plan & budgeting in OLM. If there is any document related to this please share it with me.
The scenario I am working on is:
- Every dept has a training plan & budget for a year.
- whenever the training budget for that dept crosses 95% within 10 months, it should send an alert to trg. administrator / OLM admin.
How can we make this possible.
In both OLM user guide and Imp guide I couldn't find an answer to this.

Eth0 not set up with live CD 2013.07.01, so I was unable to install Archlinux

$DBConnection_OLTP is not well define - OBIE Applicatn 7.9.6 / DAC 10.1.3.4

In new version of DAC, once you setup the Physical Data Sources then while setting the Parameters for Execution PLan, there is a drop down list which gives all the available Physical Data Source. You cannot mistype it.

You are correct.... I was able to run the DAC processes successfully with the old application.... 7.9.5.
I guess bad timing hit me bad. I just had loaded the older version and was about to continue... Then the new version came in which supported the latest PeopleSoft version and had Budgets and Projects module in it.
Now when i uninstalled and re-installed, i hit another problem where something went wrong with Informatica.... I had Key recognition issue.... So i reformatted my laptop all over and started from Fresh.... I was able to load everything and everything was smooth until i hit this other problem now....
I surely have an option to go back to old version but then i loose some of the new functionality.... So before i am compelled to go there, i want to give this a try as best as possible.
Will Oralce Support the SR in Oracle Metalink if we have not purchased the Application? My client has only purchased the OBIE Enterprise Suite.... But i am playing with this Application to get an understanding of this product.

Fund management with CJ32

My client requirement is whenever they release budget from T code CJ32 for perticular WBS at that time my budget should get booked in finance and it should show in report FMRP_RW_BUDCON can we do it?

Hi,
CJ32 is a transaction to manage budget in PS module. This budget has nothing to do with the budget management in FM (where the mentioned report belongs to). These two budget management techniques can co-exist, but they are not dependent one on another.

[Solved]Installed arch but got no internet

Hi!
I doesnt have any internet and my driver doesnt seem to auto load.
when typing ifconfig -a, eth0 doesnt show up, someone told me that the drivers wasnt loaded, and that I should use modprobe, but Im new and dont know what Im supposed to do.

Solved:
"modprobe tg3" //it helps me get eth0
than
"dhcpcd eth0" /to ask for an ip
problem solved, now I just need to find out why tg3 doesnt autoload or how to autoload it.

Dear Friends
The training dept wants to make a budget for the entire year for their training programs. How to perform this budget activities in Training and Event Mgt module
Or it should be done in FI?
Please let me know the procedure

Hi,
First you need to configure the settings in TEM integration with Budget Management. You require these settings, for example, for comparing the budgets created for your organizational units with the costs incurred by further training and education measures.
For budgeting:
Path: Human Resources->Training and Event Management->Business Events -> Budget -> Budgeting
TCode: PVBO
After completign the budgeting you have to release the budget for using. Once you release the budget, you cannot make any changes.
Then you can make the budget comparison:
Path: Human Resources->Training and Event Management->Business Events -> Budget -> Budget Comparison
Tcode: PVBA

Function module (FM) to read budget to be used in n-step approval badi

We have SRM 5.0 with ECC 6.0 (extended classic). For capital expenses we are going to have budget check in SRM based of account assignment internal orders in R/3. In shopping cart line item approval workflow, it is required to read the budget available for that internal order and compare with shopping cart value...what is the function module to read budget assigned to that internal order, that will used in n-step approval badi at every step??
