Call Manager 5.1 How to calculate UM phone "points"

We are going to install a new UM 4.x on call manager 5.1. phones = 800 , mix of several models.
I spoke w/ Ingram Micro and they stated that UM 5.x requires "points" to enable the phones.
7911 = 4 points
7970 = 5 points
7940 = 4 points
Softphone = 3 points
Where is it documented the "points" system, any info I can read ?
Any reply would be great

Hi Mark,
This is correct :) These points are called Device License Units (DLU's). Here is some more detailed info;
Device licenses are required for Cisco devices and for third-party devices, with the flexibility to replace third-party devices with Cisco devices. Device licenses are sold in increments of device-license units (DLU's). Device-license units are assigned to each device connected to Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0. Each device is assigned a unit number based on the type and capabilities of the device. Devices with more complex and high-end capabilities are assigned a higher number of units compared to devices with basic capabilities,
Here is the DLU breakdown;
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7902G = 1
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7905G = 2
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7911G = 3
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7912G = 3
Cisco Unified Wireless IP Phone 7920 (no battery) = 4
Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7936 = 3
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7940G = 4
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7941G = 4
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7941G-GE = 4
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7960G = 4
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7961G = 4
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7961G-GE = 4
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7970G = 5
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7971G = 5
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7985G = 6
Third-party SIP device (basic) = 3 (third-party)
Third-party SIP device (advanced) = 6 (third-party

  • Cisco call manager pub & sub definitions

    I'm just beginning to learn Cisco VOIP. Can someone explain to me in a simple way what SUB & PUB mean in relation to Cisco Unity & call manager mean, and how it's used in the real world. My supervisor wants me to do a unity & UCM backup, and I'm not really sure what I'm doing
    Thank You very much.

    PUB = Publisher
    SUB = Subscriber.
    In simple terms, think of the Publisher as the manager of the CUCM cluster. Configuration changes are typically done on the Publisher, and it distributes those changes to the Subscribers. Subscribers perform call processing, phone registration, software conference bridge, music on hold, etc., and in some setups the Publisher will as well (depends on size and design, as Jaime mentioned).
    The Pub-Sub relation for Unity is a little different... which one handles voicemail traffic depends completely on how the connectivity with CUCM is configured. In some setups, they will be distributed voicemail traffic evenly, while in other setups the Pub may get all traffic until its ports are full, and then overflow to the Sub as a backup.

  • Call Manager and Keepalives

    Does the call manager send out a keepalive when a phone is registered and if it does how often and how big is the packet?

    The Phone sends the TCP Keepalive (TCP KA) to the primary Callmanager every 30 seconds after registering. It also sends TCP connect to the secondary Cisco callmanager so that when it does not get the keepalive from the primary it registers to the secondary callmanager.

  • Call manager and IP phones

    after the basement remodel i will have a server and computer repair area for my testing. I have a call manager server and a couple of ip phones and would like to setup a phone at each of my families houses. what would i need and how would i set it up.

    there might be a way to do it using SIP but I have not done it and I am just giving you an idea of how to do it with SCCP default and in a secure way
    Forget about the router model I was talking about.
    You would have to assume that your home where the CCM is as the Main site and pretty much have all othere families as remote sites, you would need to setup VPN between the houses and if you want everyone to dial each other you would need DMVPN(Dynamic Multipoint).
    You would need a good router at the main site, depending on how many sites you have you may be able to use just a 2801. For the remote sites, I would think you can use an 871 or 831 router which does VPN and also has a few PoE ports switch.
    You would have to create tunnels between each other house.

  • Cisco call manager and ip phone software.

    Hi everybody.
    Does Cisco call manager also include software required for ip phone? Or software for ip phone needs to be installed on tftp server and it does not come with cisco call manager.?
    thanks and have a great weekend.

    Hi Sarah,
    by ip phone software, do you mean Cisco IP Phone Agent software?
    if  yes, then you need to have Customer Response Solution (CRS) and Call Manager together to setup ip phone software (services).
    check this link for further info:

  • Factory Default from Call Manager

    I have a client which is private. They have many type phones that we need to change with new one. I want erase all information like call history, Itl files, tftp servers etc.
    My first question is : What can I do to delete all these kind of information. My first idea is factory default? Can we make differently?
    Second question is : If we can success that with anyone's answer , Can we send this command to all 7841 ip phones from Call Manager 10.5.1?
    Second question is important part of work. We must do approximately 500 phones which I need to change with new phones. I want to send this command from Call Manager?
    Regards..

    Just go the phones erase call history/network config/ITL files etc the settings you need to delete. I dont think there will be a bulk way to do some of the items.
    But If you must erase everything from the phone, you will need to reset the phone to factory defaults.
    There is no easy/bulk/remote way to factory reset the phones. You will need to do it from the phones itself by pressing the sequence of keys.
    Still only possible way would be to setup a DEMO cucm and connect the CUCM/phones to an isolated 24/48 port switch/switches. Factory reset them and let them download the new firmware files from the demo system.
    They will still have TFTP server defined in the end (of the DEMO server) and without which you cant get the phone to download the firmware.

  • Call Manager 10 License Standard License

    Customer has Call Manager 10 and wants to add 220 Phones with Standard License including voicemail capability. What is the TOP level PN please?

    Hi Anas,
    thanks for sharing more info[+5]
    I was referring the messaging ordering  guide which says
    With version 10.x, there are now two types of users - Basic and Enhanced.

    Basic (formerly referred to as "Standard" a-la-carte) user functionality is unchanged from 9.0. It includes all user-based features such as voicemail, integrated, and unified messaging capabilities, as well as automated speech recognition and more.

    Enhanced users are new for 9.1 and the same with 10.x. Enhanced includes all Basic user functionality plus the ability to configure the user for SRSV.

    You may mix Basic and Enhanced users on the same Cisco Unity Connection server. Only Enhanced users may be configured for a branch SRSV system.
    Part Code is UNITYCN10-STD-USR
    UNITYCN10-ENH-USR

  • Integrating multiple UCCX clusters with same Call Manager Cluster

    I want to know if I can integrate multiple UCCX clusters with 1 Call Manager cluster? If yes, can someone please point me to the documentation.
    I appreciate all the help..
    Thanks!!!

    Hi
    Yes, you can. I'm not aware of specific documentation for this, but a couple of notes:
    - Make sure you use unique resource accounts (e.g. JT user in particular as that is automatically managed by UCCX and one cluster WILL break the other)
    - I would also use unique AXL accounts and probably RM accounts. RM you could share between clusters to just have one RM account to associate any agent phone to, but it's safer to have single-purpose service accounts.
    - You can't assign a user to a particular cluster - so you enable IPCC Extension on one user, they appear in 'resources' on both UCCX servers.

  • Paging with Call Manager

                      Does Call Manager v8.5 support paging on mulitple phones (groups of phones) simultaneously or does it require another product? We purchased IPSESSIONs a while back to use for paging but I was told that the function was in Call Manager. We have had CM for a few years and we are just now getting ready for paging and some other UC functions.
                      Next question.   With IP sesssions I have to configure on IP multicasting throughout our network to support paging. Can I assume that even if Call Manager supported it internally without the necessity of IPSESSIONs that I would still need the IP Multicasting protocol support on our entire network for paging?

    Hello,
    Chris is right that 3rd party app is needed. But I don't agree that Informacast is the best one.
    What about an alternative in 2Ring PHONE SERVICES which can deliver much more than just paging?
    If you are interested in getting more info, follow this link: http://www.2ring.com/NewJuice
    FREE and TRIAL licenses are obviously available.
    As for your 2nd question, yes, multicast should be enabled in entire network.

  • How to calculate the Daily Call Volume

    Hello,
    Can anyone please advise how to calculate the daily call volume in a contact center - the counts of the calls terminated in ICM ?
    Is there any webview report or a SQL query which provides the count ?
    Many thanks in advance for the help!
    Thanks & Regards,
    Naresh

    The ICM software generates a Termination_Call_Detail record for each call that arrives at the peripheral. From This report you can get the number of calls to ICM as well as the call details.
    To get the report run this sql query
    select * from dbo.t_Termination_Call_Detail where convert (varchar(10), DateTime, 101) = '12/03/2010'

  • How to download the database form the call manager 7 to excel?

    how to download the database from the call manager 7 to excel document?

    No, it never did - the "ask" for the DRS folks to provide unencryption capabilities for their TARs is still out there (several other BUs want this) but so far as I know there's been zero movement on it.  I've about given up hope on the DRS folks at this point - pretty clear this isn't a priority for them and I don't see much in the way of any kind of improvements on the product schedule for them at all, this included.
    As a side note I've been pushing the Connection product managers to give us off box file system access to limited directories via a proxy service and roles (i.e. similiar to the ODBC proxy but for SFTP access) - armed with this we can provide our own (far superior) disaster recovery tools that work on a pull model instead of the full push DRS is built on - this would get partial backups, individual restores, about 6x increase in performance (more actually - I have a prototype that is hovering right around 10x the speed of DRS end to end), smaller backups, requires less space and resources on the server etc... etc...  Fun stuff like doing a full backup on Sunday mornings and deltas every day of the week after that and another full backup Sunday etc... would be possible.  Imagine.
    I'll probably get more traction with that but it's a long road I'm afraid - as ever, asking your account team to enter a PERs helps - makes it more difficult for the product folks to delay on assigning engineering resources to such efforts.

  • How does Tandberg Gatekeeper call Call Manager SCCP extensions

    Am I missing something here? I have CUCM 8.6 with h225 trunk built to Tandberg Gatekeeper (works fine). I have two Tandberg 150 video endpoints that are registered to the Tandberg Gatekeeper, extensions 8001 and 8002 (alias is what you call it I guess). The video enpoints can dial eachother by their extensions and work fine. The CUCM SCCP phones can dial extension 8001 and 8002 and ring the video phones to make voice only calls, which is fine. Had to build route patterns/lists/groups for this. How the heck do you dial a CUCM SCCP phone, like extension 1450 from the Tandberg video endpoint? Theres nothing in the Tandberg Gatekeeper to configure to route this call from a Tandberg Gateeper registerd phone to the Call Manager SCCP phone. This is just a simple lab setup.

    Anthony,
    Its interesting you say that because that is the total opposite of my experience.  I'm currently working on a CME 9.5 to Exchange 2013 deployment where most users have DIDs.
    When a call comes in to the extension to which the DID points, and the call rolls over to Exchange typically we receive a message stating that there is no mailbox associated with the extension because Exchange is reading the first diversion header information
    (Wireshark shows two headers and the DID is always numbered 1) which has the DID number rather than the redirecting extension.  I've had to either add the last 3 digits of the DID to the users mailbox or manually transform the SIP INVITE diversion header
    to get around this problem.
